Mari's arrangement for me- 4 days later!
    Jeremy L.

Stopped in on a late afternoon to get an "I apologize" flower arrangement for my wife. This was just a small apology, not a Kobe Bryant apology but Mari pulled it off in Kobe fashion. Super friendly, I told her what I'd like to spend and she whipped up a beautiful arrangement for me which kept me from sleeping in the nursery. She sells wine and champagne there as well so it's a great one stop shop for you fellas out there looking to impress on a first date. If all of that failed to coerce you I'll say this: Support your local business!!

Flowers the night of, beautiful! They said these tulips were from Holland, but.. really?

My boyfriend orders me flowers for Valentine's Day as he was out of the country for work. Around 5pm he asked if I got them and I had not. I called the florist and there was no answer so I drove over, before they were set to close. I met the owner and told her how I never got a call or anything. She was apologetic and said that I should take some cupcakes as a good gesture. I did, as well as my bouquet that was $145. Sadly, the flowers did not last long. They were totally dead within a week. I told my boyfriend, next time, let's apply that money to my student loans!

Mari asked me my price range and proceeded to make a beautiful and fragrant bouquet for me to give to my fiancé. I couldn't have had a better first impression. We will be repeat customers without a doubt!

Valentine's day arrangement for my girlfriend. Mari promised it wouldn't be cliche red roses.

I didn't want to end up with the cliche red roses for my girlfriend on Valentines day. Mari said to let her do her thing... The result was amazing and my girlfriend was truly impressed.

Picture a church basement and that will set your expectations to the right level. We were warmly greeted by every employee we encountered. We were solely there to try the fish fry which seems to get a lot of attention on social media. The fish was good as were the fries. I would definitely come back for it. The fish sandwich was served a massive roll which was a bit much. I would put Pat's on my Lenten fish fry rotation. I am sure it gets incredibly busy. They do have take out so that is an option.

Of the options I had bookmarked that I had never been to, Pat's Oak Manor was my choice that day. I went with the all you can eat beer battered cod and potato pancakes. The potato pancakes were stellar. While not crispy, they were mostly firm on the outside, so they stayed together pretty well, and the flavor on the inside was an array of potato, onion, and spices. I made a good choice and they make a good potato pancake. The beer battered cod was good, though the third piece on my initial plate was getting a little soggy on the bottom by the time I got to it due to the grease in the breading. The rest of the fish I got during my meal didn't have that problem. I was impressed with how quickly they were able to get additional plates of cod out, although I would have preferred the option of more than only two pieces at a time. Even though the banquet hall was getting full and I only saw three people waiting tables, the person waiting on me seemed to be pleasant and in good spirits. I didn't catch her name otherwise I would shout her out specifically.

We have hit some decent granola and tortilla chips, nuts, sauces, milk, eggs, bread. I haven't shopped the meats much. I do appreciate having one so close. It is worth the separate trip. Give them a try. Be ready for the aggressive check out tho. They throw your stuff and move like lightening. You end up feeling like you're holding something up somehow even when you're not. I always bring my recycle bags and get out of their way ASAP , but I never have a visit where I don't feel badly for some elderly person who seems overwhelmed with the process of check out and I do believe they all know it's coming. It's just a bit much for them. And that will be me someday. But for now --I just wish I could help them somehow. PS You also need a quarter to use a cart and you'll get it back when you return the cart. Do an elderly a favor and give them your quarter and take their cart. First, you need a quarter to get the shopping cart. Second, you have to have your own grocery bags. There isn't a big choice in brand names, they have one type of canned beans, one type of boxed macaroni and cheese and so on, but the prices are very low for what they have in here. Their generic label products are suspiciously like the name brands the labels look like... close enough that I wonder if the products here are coming from the same factories. You'll have a better experience here if you come at off peak times.

I was super surprised to see all of the offerings and the store layout totally isn't what I had expected. I've been to the places where they have glass counters and scoop up bags from behind - there is none of that here. The walls are adorned with bags of every variety of popcorn you could imagine from your standard white for $4 up to larger bags that will set you back over $15. My eyes were set on the Fat Boy (Double Cheese) but movie theater butter sounded fantastic too. Luckily, they will let you sample the offerings. I got what I call a small bag (there was a smaller bag) for about $9. Honestly, I don't want to know what's in this popcorn but you can't eat it out of the bag or you'll have cheesy hands. It definitely filled my desire. Based on past reviews, it sounds like this is a new location. This truly is a super cool, local business. It may be too convenient for me.
