I loved the banana pudding latte sooo much. I was able to order mine with chai instead of espresso or matcha. It was so creamy so banana-y and so rich. I would definitely order this again. What a gem!! I stopped by for the first time today to grab a fun coffee and wow! The location of this coffee shop is very cute, with a variety of wellness centers and apothecaries surrounding. I was kindly greeted on walk in and was given plenty of time to decide what i wanted to try. I decided to go with the Blackberry Lavender White Chocolate Mocha and it's so good! I will definitely be back to try more flavors. My coffee was done fairly quick, but while waiting i looked around at their shop-able section. Business cards for each small design featured and so many cute things to choose from, t-shirts, mugs, key chains, cards and more. In the corner of this shop theres also a cute little friend hanging out. An Axolotl!! How adorable. I was getting my coffee to-go today, but absolutely plan to come again to stay. Their sitting area is private and is the homiest I've ever felt in a coffee shop. Theres games available to play inside, and lots of space to sit outside as well on either side of the shop. This review is for their sea salt chocolate chip cookie, which was divine! The coffee here is good too, but lots of places have good coffee. Cappucino was great flavor and foamy. Back to the cookie.. large, crispy caramelized edges and soft chewy gooey middle. In the morning the cookie is warm and the chocolate oozes when you take a bite. So amazing and the hint of flaky sea salt on top. I only remembered to take a photo after it was almost gone. read more

I really wanted to love this place, based on word of mouth. The new location is adorable, especially the back area.. the decor isn't for me (very old-feel), but to each their own. The service is where I struggled, the man taking my order was clearly not wanting to be there. He was very short with me, kind of talked to me like I was stupid (I wanted a bagel with cream cheese + add tomato, onion, and arugula. He somewhat looked at me like I was dumb and said "like the sandwich?"... to which I told him "I guess I can add the egg too" the bagel sandwich had an egg patty.) just a very miserable conversation. The coffee was eh, not my favorite in town. Had a weird aftertaste that I cannot put my finger on. The egg sandwich was actually so bomb, though. I would go back for that, honestly. read more

This small coffee shop located on the Main Street of a small suburb of South Milwaukee is a gem! The ambiance is homey and warm with lots of well thought out comical art! The selection of lattes is varied and unique. I ended up getting the Peanut Butter Cup and my wife the Space Cowboy. Both were fantastic! My wife and I like to locate small local shops for coffee when on vacation as it reminds us how we met in college in Iowa City! This place did just that. This place is like walking into my heart. This is EXACTLY what it'd be like if I ever owned a coffee shop. I'm almost in tears because I love this little place so much. When I go anywhere, but especially a big city as you know I try to always find small places that are somewhat off the beaten path. Coffee shops especially. So I always do my research before I go and I had a short list but I marked this one special. Because something just felt like I needed to check it out. I'm so glad that we did. My Blackberry lavender white chocolate mocha was easily one of the best drinks I've ever had. I forgot to ask for the name of the sweet girl that was working but you can tell she puts so much care into every drink she makes. As you can see from the menu there are lots of options both fancy and basic. The boyfriend got an Americano but enjoyed it so much that he got a second one, while we spent a couple hours hanging out in this quiet little Utopia. I also bought a shirt to bring home as a memory. I will absolutely come back anytime I'm in Milwaukee. Don't sleep on this one read more

I really, really, REALLY like this place! Now I wouldn't say this place sticks out in any particular way, but it does do the small town coffee shop vibe perfectly! I go here almost everyday before work. The employees here are super nice and friendly and sometimes have already started working on my order before I enter in! It is a very small coffee shop so there is not much seating space, but there is a lot of cool local artwork and event posters all around. Honestly the main reason why I love this place so much is because it fits my criteria as a perfect coffee shop to stop at on your way to work. For my order I get the same thing everyday..... Matcha with oat milk! Now I know some of you are looking at this review with disgust after reading that, but I highly recommend everyone to try it out especially from here! It may be small in size, does not have a drive thru, but the coffee and the bakery definitely makes it worth making a stop. I am usually not a coffee shop person, mostly because the coffee shops near me are chain shops and I am not a fan of those. Visited there this morning for a cold brew coffee to go. It's a cozy, welcoming business. The owner was there and appeared to love what she was doing. She was the only barista so it was slow, but very friendly, service. It was like being in a friends home. As she opened the chest freezer to fill my cup with ice, I noticed black mold on the freezer door gasket. Milk choices are whole milk, skim milk or half and half; no 1% nor 2%. I chose the half and half with sugar free syrup. Unfortunately, my "iced coffee" was half and half with syrup and a splash of coffee. It lacked the coffee and ended up in the garbage. I want to support small local businesses. I don't plan on returning due to the beverage and the mold on the gasket. It otherwise appears very clean. read more

My five year old son and I are visiting from Florida, and I love discovering local coffee shops wherever I go. My brother-in-law took us to Avenue because he takes his son there occasionally. We immediately felt welcomed by the very kind barista, and she answered all of my video game loving son's questions about the various Pacman, Mario, and other video game characters throughout the shop. She spoke to my son so intently about the different chocolate snacks the shop had to offer (he wanted a chocolate muffin but chose a chocolate scone) and she made him the most delicious kid temperature hot chocolate. I had a hazelnut mocha (and the leftovers of his scone, because let's be real, that's what parents do), and everything was delicious. I will definitely make visiting Avenue a tradition for my son and I during our yearly visit to Milwaukee. My only regret is that I didn't buy a t-shirt. Next time! read more
