There isn't a single soul on the this planet I would have trusted more with my hair and makeup for my wedding day. Every girl dreams of this day and I was no different. I wanted to look like myself but with a flawless finish. My hair is notorious for being difficult, straight as a stick and doesn't hold a curl and thick as ever. From beginning to end, Marisa is focused on creating a professional and relaxed experience for her brides. She is prompt to respond and flexible when scheduling trials. My first round of trials actually took place in preparation for our engagement photo shoot. The makeup was on point, so natural and flawless. The photos came out beautiful and the hair was exactly how I imagined it would be. We had a follow up trail to work out the details for the BIG day hair. In true fashion, my hair would not cooperate. Marisa was so patient and had a plan, we tried again at another trial appointment, and VIOLA! She had changed her approach and choice of tools and figured out exactly how best to curl my hair for the look and all day hold I would need. As a side note, she is great about making notes for day of execution so all the time in between trials and the big day don't impact the end result. The big day was finally HERE! She was an army of one and manged to get my two bridesmaids, my mom, and myself ready with ease. We had a blast all morning and it set the tone for the entire day. The morning went without a hitch and the end result was exactly as I had imagined. I am still so in love with my bridesmaid who decided a too do a beautiful braid (she's a BRAID MASTER!) and their makeup was amazing. I hired Marisa to do my hair and makeup for my wedding and I'm so happy I did! I live in New York City and was planning my destination wedding in Palm Springs, and was looking for SoCal Hair & Makeup vendors to take care of me on my wedding day. I met Marisa through my wedding planner a few months back. During our hair and makeup trial, she was easy to talk to and she was super sweet. I loved her eye for style and absolutely loved the hair styles that she tried on me. On my wedding day, we met early in the morning (5 am-ish?) but she brought her sweet smile and enthusiastic spirit. She and her associate chatted with us as if we've been friends for a long time. Being Asian, I was a bit worried about having the moon-shaped, dark eye shadow (like some of those Asian news reporters) or my eyes look smaller than they already are! I don't usually wear makeup so I asked her to make me look as natural as she could. After getting my photos from my photographers a couple weekends ago, I was amazed at her skill of making me look natural and makeup that lasted the whole day! I don't know how she did it, but my makeup stayed on from my first photo at the Vietnamese tea ceremony in the morning to the last photo in our photobooth at the reception at night! Since then I've moved to San Diego and have started seeing her for my regular appointments. She does a great job on my color and cut, and she is patient with me about my bangs fussiness. My husband and I live on the east coast, but were doing the wedding in my home town in San Diego. Marisa was very accommodating with our schedule, as I could only visit a few times to do all the wedding planning/prep. We did a make up trial with her a few months beforehand. We took her time and made sure to get everything correctly. She also took pictures, which I appreciated, to remember how to do it on the day of. On the day of the wedding, she came to my mother's house. Marisa was prepared, on time, and a pleasure to work with. Her make up turned out exactly how I envisioned, and even better than on the trial. She had great attention to detail and asked my opinion when appropriate. She even gave me a little pot of foundation to touch up, oil absorbing wipes, and a whole lipliner pencil that perfectly matched the Mac lipstick I had bought for myself to use for the wedding. It was great to touch up and reapply throughout the day. Both my mom's and my make up turned out very natural looking, but still exquisite, and looked great on the professional (and non professional) photos. My one and only requirement for my November wedding hair stylist was that she knows/understands curly hair. I didn't want it to fall into the usual up do styling of straightening it or worst trying to change the curl. Long overdue, but I found Marisa on a whim while planning my wedding from afar. I had no idea what to expect because it was a fairly last-minute booking based on her online portfolio. I must say that I really lucked out because Marisa was AMAZING. She is an incredible hair stylist who brought my "hair vision" to life and made me look like a glamorous bombshell. She did my hair, and the hair of my three bridesmaids for my wedding in La Jolla on July 20th, as well as my airbrush makeup, and makeup for 2 of the bridesmaids, and I honestly could not have imagined a better experience.
