The Attitude: When our breakfast finally arrived, I politely asked for a side of salsa. As she walked away, the waitress(Janet) literally rolled her eyes and threw her head back in frustration. At that point, I told her to forget it. She then kept insisting, "What did you want?" but the vibe was so hostile I didn't even want to engage. Consistency: It wasn't just us; she did the exact same thing to the table next to us when they tried to get her attention. The street is pretty dark though so don't park too far from the truck. I got the chorizo, buche, carnitas and suadero taco. I loved all of it but my least favorite was probably the carnitas. But it was still tasty but the others were better IMO. The salsa was on point, especially the red sauce. What great flavor. They put it out for you to grab yourself. The only thing I didn't notice was the menu with pricing. I saw the menu but didn't know the pricing. I figured it couldn't be that much for 4 tacos. Just ask them how much they are when you get here. If you miss tacos from LA, this is a great second option.

Google Maps turns you into a dusty asphalt driveway where, in the front is one stucco building that might have been someone's house at one time, and in the back is one very worn, almost sleazy, one-story building where three tiny Mom & Pop businesses compete for space. There is nothing fancy to see here, with the exception of the tiny, covered patio at the entry and a claustrophobic ordering counter on the other side of a sliding glass door. The patio walls are lined with bamboo, a couple taxidermied blue marlin, and some seaside-themed, tropical decor. There are maybe 4 tables and a cluster of chairs. I imagine, in the heat of the summer, it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable in here. And yet, reading the food reviews will make your heart go pitter-patter. Their specialty is mariscos with a Baja spin. Ceviche, shrimp cocktails, fish soup, fish tacos and burritos, to name a few. They also have swordfish and salmon on their menu. We came for the fish tacos and were we in store for a surprise! The chunk of fried fish in each taco was as big as a huge chicken tender. Our tacos were filled with moist, great tasting white fish (not tilapia)! The tortillas, hence, had to be the larger size, not street taco sized. The batter was crispy and exceptional, with a light, herbal flavor. The finishing touch was a pile of toppings, including shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, finely chopped cucumber, and an insanely delicious white crema-mayo sauce. I think the unexpected cucumber added a unique, refreshing element to an already excellent taco. The only downfall was that the corn tortilla fell apart before I could get it into my mouth. Heh, I can live with that...just give me a fork. If you thought the price of 1 taco ($4.50) was too expensive, you are wrong. One taco here is the equivalent of two tacos elsewhere. That's a great deal! This is not fast food. The fish is cooked to order. Plan on a wait. Although this is essentially a covered, outdoor dining enclosure with a dutch door style gate, please note. Pets are not allowed. There is no pet-friendly section, nor shady areas to park in their bleak parking lot. The irony of this was the number of off-leash dogs we saw wandering around the parking lot. We saw three small to medium sized dogs, and no owner. We ended up bringing our food and personna-non-grata pup home. They did a nice job with the fish tacos, and one of their customers assured me the fried and/or grilled shrimp tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp were excellent. My husband and I came in and the first thing we noticed was how incredibly hot it was inside the restaurant. The older lady at the front was very nice and took our order. I ordered a torta and forgot to mention that I didn't want beans. That's completely my fault. After sitting down for a while, I suddenly remembered and immediately went back to the register. There was another older lady with glasses working the front. I politely said, "Oh my gosh, ma'am, I'm so sorry. I forgot to ask for no beans. Does the torta come with beans?" She said yes. I apologized again and asked if there was any way they could remove the beans or simply change the bread. Her response was, "No, it's already done. You should have thought about that when you first ordered the torta." I again admitted that it was my mistake and that it had simply slipped my mind, and I asked if there was anything they could do. She said no and told me that if I wanted a torta without beans, I would have to pay for an entirely new one. I understand that I made the mistake, but the issue wasn't the beans, it was the attitude and lack of customer service. I work in the food and restaurant industry myself, and if a customer came to me and said they accidentally forgot to mention something on their order, I would do everything I could to make it right because that's how customer service should be handled. I love my customers, want them to return, and want them to leave happy and share positive experiences. The pupusas were absolutely delicious, but customer service is top-tier for me, and because of this experience, I will definitely not be returning. It seemed like this employee simply didn't care about the customer experience, and unfortunately, that's how businesses lose customers. I hope management addresses this issue because the lady with glasses either needs additional customer service training or needs to change the way she treats customers. A little kindness and understanding go a long way. Also, my boyfriend is a content creator and was recording our experience, so this interaction will likely be featured on his YouTube channel as well. Great food can bring people in once, but great customer service is what brings them back.
