My girlfriends and I went here on Friday and we ordered the garlic shrimp. It was good, however it was definitely over salted. If they cut back just a little on the salt, it would have been perfect. 10 stars for their food but -10 on the safety of their customers. Best Mariscos in town, been going here for years! but if your going to eat in you might want to think about it before you do, specially if you are covid concerned. Customers and even some servers walk around without masks. The restaurant owners even let their customers come in without mask. There is no social distancing at their tables and their cleanliness is not on point. They just wipe the tables with fabuloso (floor cleaner) and sometimes the chairs. Definitely not sanitary!! I like to go here for the fish tacos. I think they are the best in the area. The portions are huge! I see a few things on the menu that I want to try but I could never eat that much. When you dine in you get complimentary ceviche and that too is probably the best in the area. Newly remodeled inside so don't let the outside fool you lol. read more

This restaurant is not good. The service is ok the waitress came quickly to take the order and brought out the food quickly. We (party of 3 adults and 1 child) ordered the Botana Mariscos Grande (shrimp, muscles, crab legs, fake crab, fish fillet, and small pieces of octopus). The seafood tasted frozen not fresh. The salsa was not salsa but soup and very bland. We also ordered horchatas and micheladas and the horchata was not made from scratch for the price it was and the michelada did not taste that it had any beer and was way too spicy did not taste like tomato and clam juice or anything but spicy. They also charged us 18% gratuity on our bill BEFORE taxes. We did not appreciate that at all it could have been after tax but having us pay taxes on tip is ridiculous. I will not be returning the food was awful I should have cooked at home or gotten some tacos somewhere else. I took the seafood home and rinsed it off very well at home and recooked it in a sauce of my own and it was 100 times better. WOW A hidden GEM!! We found out about this place through a friend. I am Mexican with very high expectations when it comes to Mexican food. This place is definitely very authentic Mexican seafood. It's SO GOOD! Ok, for starters they give you complimentary tostadas with ceviche and very spicy salsa. For me, this was already a great indication that the food was going to be amazing. In my opinion if the salsa is spicy at a restaurant it's the real deal! Secondly, we placed our order for drinks and I ordered a michelada (beer with clamato, lime, salt) Again, I was impressed with the mixture. Finally, ordered my entree: garlic shrimp. Upon arrival of food my eyes opened wide due to the big amount of food. I'm very picky when it comes to the temperature of my food and this plate was steaming hot freshly made just the way I like it. To top it off the shrimp, rice, and fries was absolutely delicious!! I'm so glad I went with a big appetite. My husband ordered mixed seafood cocktail and I tasted it and was also very good. I absolutely recommend this place and can't wait to be back! Hands down the best seafood in ALL of Joliet and surrounding areas. We got lucky with our waitress she was pretty good. The only improvement feedback I have for the restaurant is maybe improve on the salad portion of the plate since it was only shredded iceberg lettuce. read more
