My spicy shrimp tacos were delicious! They set up a cute patio w a decent amount of tables for outdoor dining. They even set up a large tv.

My taco was soggy and cold and I order a 7 mares caldo and it had a hair in it I told the waitress and they only gave me a 3 dollar discount I would had expected for them not to charge the caldo because of the hair and because I was barely starting to eat the food I got charged for my food when I should t have had I got home with a really bad stomach pain due to the food hopefully the owner gets to see this and at least refund me the caldo because this is unacceptable what happened I would never be going back to that restaurant. So my first time eating here yesterday with my wife , I was so excited everything looked so good . We had the fish with shrimp loaded on top . It takes 30 min to cook the fish which we were ok with . It was very good . So about a few hours later we are home in bed and we start to feel realllly sick !! We both start to feel nauseous we both can't sleep we are shaking we feel very very dehydrated the whole night we didn't sleep much . We start to feel tingling in our fingers . Idk what was happening but we shared that plate of food & that's all we had to eat . Turns out it's food poisoning. Still my stomach is turning can't eat anything . This place has down graded more and more. My family and I have lived in Long Beach for over 20 years and when this placed opened up it was the "go to place" but now that it seems more popular they have let themselves go. Food is always cold and salty. Services from the waitress are not good. And wanting to speak to the manager is impossible. He's in building but hides from the customer. That's poor customer service. He rather sent the dishwasher man to speak to the customer instead of him talking to the customer. Don't bother on coming here anymore. It's a waste of money. read more

DO NOT ORDER THE TACOS GOBERNADOR here!! They are literally passing off shredded (I don't think its shrimp) in a quesadilla, for a taco GOBERNADOR. That is not a taco GOBERNADOR. I asked the waitress where the veggies that come in the taco and she said that they substitute the veggies for the 2 leaves of lettuce and piece of orange (they call this side salad) for them, SMFH. JUST NO! If I wanted a salad I would have ordered a salad. They have no right calling that crap a taco GOBERNADOR at all. They need to change there menu or at least let people know how this item is going to be served. If I had to guess what they use for the shrimp in these I'd say it imitation crab just grounded up so you can't tell whether its shrimp or not. I took one bite and it made me sick. This restaurant is super unique... 1. The only Mexican restaurant I know that has korean ding dong bell at the table. 2. The counter looks like IHOP counter and there's an electronic jukebox on the wall. I ordered camarones a la diabla for $9.99. Camarones a la diabla: shrimps sauteed in special hot sauce. The shrimps were not the best quality but the sauce was super good. I am salivating thinking about my sauce. And yes it's muy caliente!! It comes with beans, rice, salad and hot tortillas. Complimentary chips with mayo and salsa plus this soup in a styrofoam cup. It tasted like mayo and the waitress confirmed my suspicion. That was my first time eating chips with salsa and mayo. I started going to the original PERIHUTE in South Gate aver 10 years ago and the food is just amazing... then I found this one in Paramount and will never return to the old place (smaller, no beer and bad service). The food is even better and so clean.. Service is on point and don't feel intimidated to ring the bell on the napkin holder. Weekends are a bit packed but even then you probably wont wait more than 30 minutes. The food. Where do I start? Whether you are hung over (CRUDO) or not the small soup is so soothing and Delicious! Best ceviche EVER (not under cooked and just the right amount of tomatoes, onions and cucumbers) the Fish tacos are perfectly battered and the EMPAPELADO is like Buttery seafood goodness.. Ive tried the tacos, oysters, bacon wrapped shrimp (COSTA AZUL) fryed Mojara, everything is delicious!! I eat there about 3-4 times a week and sometimes is less expensive than a combo at Carls for a tostada and a taco is just right!!! Mexican Seafood, very rare to find an inexpensive, clean and deliscious place. Rule of thumb: If a seafood place or truck is packed then you can trust it if its not then beware!!! A MUST is a Michelada as a perfect side dish to anything there. Ive taken many friends all races and they are impressed by the feast you get for your money. Service was alright. The mariscos lacked so much flavor. I had the tostada de ceviche de camaron along with the tostada de ceviche de mojarra. I'd always hear people rave about this place and I don't understand why. I had a hankering for ceviche and decided to stop by since we were around the area, but boy was I in for a big disappointment. Food is good but service kills it all. Had dinner here Saturday 4/6 the waitress never came back to our table and we wanted to order other items. We had to go to the counter to ask for our bill and there was our waitress on the phone and while waiting someone else was complaining on service as well. When we were paying I told the cashier that our waitress never came back to our table and she didn't seem to care. Landed at this place by mistake and boy was it a mistake. We ordered three sushi platters and they were all terrible. No amount of hot sauce or teriyaki could save these poor rolls. By the looks at this place driving by, however, since I ate at the one in Lynwood I figured I would give it a try. After walking in the door, we literally stood at the front for about a good 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged. After that the girl behind the counter asked did we needed to be seated and she grab two menus and sat them on a table and said "enyoy" (I guess meaning "enjoy") and walked away. After we ate we literally waited about 10 minutes to our check, obviously finished with our food with empty plates sitting in front of us the waitress continued to pass the table, refilling hot sauce bottles, etc. So after waiting so long for our bill I had to flag her down. And AGAIN we were waiting at the counter just to pay for our food. A guy stood by the counter just looking around...at this point I was done with the waiting game so I left my money on the counter and walked out...then is when we picked up the money and put it in the register. I have been here numerous times over the past 2 years. Food is Awesome, but I don't care how good food is, when bad service is included as it ruins your moment and when hungry you know that you are even more upset. The last 5 out of 7 times have been really bad. The staff is rude, unprofessional and act like they are doing you a favor. Food takes forever and I one time had to call out the waiter because we are 99% sure he forgot to put in our order since everyone around is received their food and he came back to ask what our order was all over again. After 30 mins, half of our order comes out, I ordered shrimp tacos and they were not fresh, they tasted stale and like they were under a heat lamp for hours. The waitress spilled some juice from tostadas on my mom and quickly ran off without apologizing. The tostadas were soaked and soggy from the excess juice, they were mediocre at best, it seems like they forgot about the rest of my order or simply don't care. I came here on a Sunday afternoon. A group of 4. When we pulled up, we found parking although it looked as if the place was packed. There were people hanging out outside and it looked super crowded inside so we thought we'd be waiting for a bit. To our surprise, as soon as we walked in, we were seated! Lots of people in there having lunch and chit-chatting. I really like that kinda environment. Very welcoming. As soon as we got there, we all ordered some modelo micheladas to start with while we decided what we wanted to order. Yum! My friend and I ordered a couple shrimp cocktails, my sister ordered ceviche tostadas, and her girlfriend ordered a shrimp and octopus cocktail. I couldn't go wrong with that shrimp cocktail. I'd have to say it was one of the tastiest shrimp cocktails I've had up to date. Not that I've had many, but I loved it! The food was delicious, and the service was great despite the fact that there were lots of people there. I would definitely come here again for another one of those cocktails. read more

LETS BE CLEAR!!! Perihuete is not a "Fancy" restaurant by any stretch of the imagination is this place Fancy lol just because they sell Stella Rose and added Sushi to the menu does NOT make it fancy. However, I love this place! Don't come here for enchiladas, chicken nuggets or sushi. Come here for the mariscos otherwise you WILL be disappointed, their mariscos are good and reasonable in price. The place is clean, the parking is a b*tch tho . I don't come here during the weekend unless its late in the evening because it gets really busy. The wait will be long, El Perihuete is a family restaurant and a great Mariscos spot to cure your hangover. They give you a complimentary Taliban cup (shrimp consume) I definitely don't recommend you bring a date here, or your mother or father for mothers/fathers day - don't be cheap. Came to El Perihuete April 2, 2016 like at 8:04pm and as we were ordering our food and letting the waiter know that we want one super michelada and one regular. She got us two super michelada and we told her that we had only order one big one she gave us attitude. I don't know her name but she has really curly hair in a bun. She told us "you told me two super micheladas and I repeated myself twice" first of all you are getting our orders where the speakers are at and a TV is right beside us, it is very loud in here and you still give attitude. This is my first time that I get a waitress that is rude. I'm a regular here with my boyfriend and we never had this type of problem. Don't get me wrong food is good. Where do I begin and where should I end? I was once told that this place was really good. But then again the person who told me was someone who's pallet isn't so trusting. I decided to give it a try because today the restaurant seemed pretty popular with the filled tables and short line of people waiting. I was seated a few minutes after arriving. It took quite a while to have a server take our order. I ordered the filet pioja. Looked and sounded great on the menu. When it arrived, it was a large portion. Big enough for my daughter and I to share. Which we did. The taste was BLAND. My daughter says that at least the fish and shrimp were cooked. We also ordered the "popular" octopus. Didn't look anything like what was advertised on the menu. The price of it was $20. What we received looked like it was worth $5. Water was terrible tasting. I would not recommend this place nor will I be returning. read more

Wanted to try this place after somebody told me about it. I wanted to discover the hoopla about this "Taco a la Uyu Yui". At first bite, I was like "Uyu Yui!!" (grabs a bottle of water from the refrigerator) No wonder this particular taco has earned the prestigious name it was given. This was THE perfect cure to my shrimp taco craving. Make sure you have something cold to drink right next to you. This taco is HOT HOT HOT! I also had the shrimp quesadilla (Quesadilla de Camarones). Not as big as the quesadillas at Doublz but reasonably sized but tasty (also $6). Food here is reasonably priced and they take debit and credit cards with no charge. If you have a seafood craving this is THE spot to be in town. WARNING: DO NOT come on weekends unless you want to immerse yourself in a crowded atmosphere. I wasn't a seafood fan until recently discovering this restaurant. You have to try whats called the, "Camaron al otro dia". This is a very good appetizer. They have this taco called "taco al ugh uyy", that is very popular and delicious. You should really try it! I would recommend this place specially the original one in South Gate. I have never been to the South Gate one but I herd its small. I was also told that the South Gate one is tastier since the cook there is the original cook that "invented" some of their plates. read more

I ordered 1 of each shrimp taco they offered and I must say that the Taco a la Uyu Yui was pretty tasty. Overall, the tacos were a little too buttery for me.
