We chose the silver tier, we weren't super hungry. Diamond is good if you want a lot of food and the premium items. Perfect portions for me and hubs, limited just a few at a time. So food stays fresh. I liked the Wagyu meats with marbling for a nice blend of protein and fats. Hand rolls were generously packed with yellowtail and salmon. I got so full. Lots of drinks options too, sodas, fruit juices, iced milk tea, hot tea. Got the hot tea twice, it's just lukewarm. For an extra fee you can get other drinks like ones with boba or alcohol. For desserts I got egg tarts you can grab them from the warmer. Plenty of quality fruit options which were really fresh sweet and juicy. Couple things felt off for me like the seating process and seat I was in. First on the waitlist, I checked in and was told it would be a longer wait and to keep checking the yelp app. As we walked back to our car, we immediately got a text that our table was ready. That part seemed a bit disorganized and could have been handled more smoothly. When Chubby Cattle Cerritos opened last year, they didn't initially have a waitlist and the wait was always hours long so it kind of fell off our radar for a while. They now have a Yelp waitlist, so some friends and I decided to finally try it out. Even after getting on the waitlist on the way to the restaurant, there was still about a 20 minute wait once we arrived. There are three tiers on the menu, silver ($58 regular, $50 member), gold ($78 regular, $65 member), and diamond ($88 regular, $75 member). The gold tier lets you choose two single servings from the special items menu. The diamond tier adds one extra special item and lets you order four single servings. We decided to go with the gold tier. One friend is a Chubby Club member, so two of us received the $13 discount. All ordering is done on a touch screen at the table, and then a server brings your selections to the table. Special items on the menu are cooked by your server, and you cook all other items yourself. After figuring out the ordering system and putting in our initial order, we headed to the self-serve area. The aisle next to our table was a little narrow. Many of the items in the self-serve area were empty or near empty, and honestly, nothing stood out as something I had to have. The drink station has soft drinks, two slushie flavors, two milk teas, and three different lemonades. Boba drinks and lattes are available for ordering on the touch screen at your table for an additional cost. I just had water. Some desserts are also available in the self-serve area. Things started out pretty well as our orders were initially coming out pretty quick. Many of the special items had a nice presentation in gold trays, and your server cooks those for you to perfection. The grill never got smoky which was nice. Some of the items we had included A5 Miyazaki Waygu short rib, A5 Miyazaki ribeye, A5 Wagyu Otoro thick cut, A5 brisket, A5 lean meat, Wagyu uni caviar nigiri, lobster roll, beef tongue, prime angus skirt steak, Margra lamb, black pepper Wagyu cubes, salmon & yellowtail carpaccio, shrimp tempura, and fried calamari. There is a 90 minute dining limit, and unfortunately we didn't receive any of our orders for the last 30 minutes. Our server checked with the kitchen a few times, but no further food was ever brought out. The special and regular menu items we had were all very good. However, the self serve station didn't impress, and no food for the last 30 minutes was a total buzz kill. At this price point, I expected a better experience. Chubby has great ratings, so I'm assuming we just came on an off night. Despite a disappointing first experience, I would try them again, or maybe visit another location. read more

I honestly wish I had taken photos of the meats and food and we ordered, because that is the whole point after all. However, I was so lost in the options, experience, ambiance, in the moment that I did not. However, let me just tell you that this is THE BEST MEAT I HAVE EVER TASTED. The A5 meat literally needs to be cooked for SECONDS on the grill and just melts in your mouth. Steak, A5 wagyu, sushi, lamb, etc. nothing disappointed. The rice dispenser is the coolest thing I have ever seen. So many options of sides to choose from and desserts. We were completely in awe and overwhelmed in the best way! We had Jordan as our waiter and he came around a bunch of times through out the night to check up on us, take plates away, and bring napkins. It's Ayce Japanese bbq so we order from the screen and minutes later it comes. Everything was fresh and delicious and no issues with missing ordered items. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Maybe this is totally my fault, but I had NO IDEA the AYCE did NOT pertain to EVERYTHING you purchased in the tier you selected. We selected the GOLD (middle of the road) and when shown how to use the ordering system, realized the AYCE meats only pertained to the super thin cuts! YOU CAN ONLY GET ONE ROUND of the thick cut A5 Wagyu type. The drink selections seemed impressive at first, but it's really nothing more than "serve yourself" fountain drinks, which includes 2 types of milk tea. No big deal. The cold section is really disappointing. A few vegetables & fruits, Kim chi, which you can barely see due to the dry ice smoke that covers this section. Nothing to brag about. Sizzler does a better job! The dessert area is mixed with a curry & stew pots and an auto dispenser rice machine that plops a serving of rice in your bowl. There are also mini hamburgers, mashed sweet potato and corn cheese (there was absolutely NO CHEESE) in aluminum tins next to the Hokkaido cream cheese tarts & Portuguese Egg tarts in the warmer. We arrived at 4:45 pm on a Wednesday evening. NOT CROWDED AT ALL, but after we checked in,we were told it would be a 15-20 min wait (?).... The restaurant was literally empty! (see photo). We waited 15, then asked what the problem was. She told me they were waiting to change servers to the night shift crew, which should be seamless to the customer, shouldn't it? ... but the least you should do is tell us as it looks strange that we are made to wait when the restaurant is literally EMPTY! There is also a 90 min time limit and your server will remind you numerous times, WHICH MADE ME FEEL RUSHED. There were 4 of us, so the bill including tip WHICH WAS ADDED ON FOR US... came out to over $100 per person. Went here with my friend right when they opened in the morning, and we got Josh as our server. Honestly, he made the experience. He was super kind, attentive, and just genuinely friendly the whole time.But it wasn't just Josh. From the girl at the front who welcomed us in, to the other servers and food runners, everyone was so nice. I don't think people realize how much good service impacts an experience, and this place definitely got that right. One thing I really loved was the self-serve area. They had everything from rice, drinks, and sides available for you to grab yourself, so you don't have to keep asking the workers for every little thing. It made the whole experience feel so much smoother and convenient. The food was SO good. We got the Gold Tier and pretty much tried everything. The meat was amazing, and the dessert was a perfect way to end the meal. We got the matcha dessert with ice cream, and together it was chef's kiss. The quality of the food was outstanding the meat, vegetables, sauces, drinks, and appetizers were all delicious. The only downside was the restaurant's ventilation system. It seemed to work slowly and didn't remove the smoke very effectively, which made it a bit difficult to breathe at times. Compared to RH, RH has the better ambiance, décor, and indoor air quality. We are so happy with Chubby Cattle Cerritos and it's all thanks to our server Michael! Let me start off by saying that our first CC experience was in Pleasanton, CA. It was so bad that we refused to go to any CC after that. However, while planning Father's Day with our families, this was the best location for everyone to meet. My boyfriend and I were hesitant, but we were hopeful for a better experience. Right off the bat we were happier with the ambiance. While the restaurant was busy, it wasn't stressful and hectic. The dark walls and meat display also help with the ambiance. The aisles had enough space for walking and didn't feel crowded. The touch screen for ordering was also something we were thankful for. It's the little things! (We didn't have iPads dying on us multiple times that delayed our ability to order. This was our experience in Pleasanton). The meat cuts were all really good. Our favorites include: all short ribs, A5 wagyu foie gras nigiri, A5 brisket, and wagyu short plate. My boyfriend also really liked the bibimbap. Our least favorite was the ribeye, mainly because it's thick cut and chewy. Cutting them into smaller pieces helped. This is the first time at the Cerritos location and it did not disappoint! I've been to the Rowland heights location and I thought the service couldn't get any better from there, but I was wrong. Moses really took care of us and made sure everything was good. He cooked our meats, changed our grill a couple of times, and even brought us a burger knowing that it is hard to come by at the self service section. Honestly, when it comes to tier selection, the silver tier was perfect for us. Gold is cool too but silver had a lot of good cuts of wagyu choices as well. I really enjoyed the seafood selection. The Argentina shrimp was huge and really sweet! The sushi on the other hand was good too but they were super heavy on the rice. The selection of side dishes was abundant ranging from wagyu burgers to corn cheese. The self service rice and miso was a nice addition. I came on a Saturday with some friends. It must have been an off day because they were running out of everything throughout our time there. I will say that the cuts of meat my friends and I did manage to get were pretty good. There were definitely some cuts that were just silverskin, so we ended up not eating those because it was too tough. Other than that, they were out of a lot of the desserts, which was quite disappointing. The power also kept going out, which messed up our seating time and our orders as the system didn't receive several of our submissions. The server kept coming back to us several times. When we arrived at the restaurant, we explicitly informed the staff that my daughter has a severe peanut and tree nut allergy. They pointed out the safe items on the menu, and I only ordered from that approved list. Shortly after eating, my daughter complained that her lip was itching, and she quickly began having a severe allergic reaction, including shortness of breath. Because she has asthma, this respiratory distress became a life-threatening emergency, and I had to rush her to the car to administer her EpiPen. When I returned inside to inform the staff, I asked them to double-check our order. While they initially insisted that nothing we ordered contained nuts, they eventually discovered that the menu had recently been updated and one of the meats we were served was topped with a peanut sauce. We are from Arizona and were in town specifically for my daughter's track meet the following day; this was supposed to be her pre-competition dinner. Instead, she suffered a major allergic reaction involving respiratory distress, lip swelling, and a bloody nose. When I asked management how they intended to rectify this severe safety failure, they offered only to remove her specific item from the bill. I previously visited a different location of this chain in April and had a wonderful experience, which is why I trusted them with my family. I am deeply disappointed not only by the severe cross-contamination and inaccurate ingredient information, but by the management's complete lack of accountability regarding a life-threatening medical emergency. If you or your family members have food allergies, I highly advise against eating here. I will never return. read more

AYCE bbq for a decent price. Went on a Tuesday evening - def use the Yelp waitlist, it took us about 30 minutes to get a table, so you can plan ahead with it. The parking lot is busy, but you'll be able to find a spot a little further out. Had the Silver choices, which had Wagyu but no A5 grade. There's a bar for beverages, fruit, Wagyu soup and curry, corn cheese / sweet potato cheese, veggies, and dessert. The meats are pretty thinly sliced and the trays are exactly what's pictured when you order - 4-5 pieces per tray, so may want to order up if you're a bigger group. The thinly sliced meats make a little tough to enjoy - you don't really taste too much. There are some thicker cut choices but wasn't a fan of the seasoning on them. The meat quality was overall OK, but it is all you can eat - so can't expect too much. Also - was not a fan of the sushi (outside of the wagyu one), definitely on the fishy side. Whenever you dine at chubby cattle you receive the member rate which can save you from $8 a person for up to two people for silver tier to $13 for gold and diamond tier. There definitely better benefits if you get the multi brand membership versus the single brand, but either way, you truly get what you pay for. This is not your corners Korean bbq AYCE, but high quality Japanese yakiniku bbq and getting cuts like American Wagyu to A5 Japanese Wagyu based on the tier you choose. The other plus is the quality of service these guys provide. I have been to chubby cattle several times as well as other brands like hot pot shabu Shabu and their service is just exceptional. The Service that your specific servers provide is exceptional. I have not been here and received poor service from any of our direct servers. The support staff is also top notch. This visit our server was Jordan and if I thought our previous servers were a ten star rating, Jordan proved that you can get better than a 10 star rating. Jordan was so on top of our orders that if there was a back up in the kitchen, he would suggest to place other orders such as sushi. He would also advise us of entering additional meat orders so that the kitchen can start prepping it. We as a family prefer not to have heavy marinated meats so he advised the kitchen of all our meat orders not to have any of the marinade. Everything came out how we like it and not once were there any errors of our orders. I have been completely sold to continue my membership with chubby club to continue taking advantage of all the benefits. I came here today to celebrate my fiancée's graduation, and since it was our first time, we weren't sure what to expect. We decided to go with the Diamond tier, and right away our server, Moses, made the experience great. Before we even started, he recommended that we download the Chubby Club app so we could earn points. They were also running a promo for the Chubby Plus membership, and I ended up signing up since we've been to their sibling restaurants like Mikiya and Niku X. The membership gave us the member pricing, which already saved us about half of what the membership cost, so it was an easy decision. Moses took his time walking us through the menu page by page on the screen, answered all of our questions, and even pointed out some of his personal favorites. That really helped since there were so many options. We tried almost everything on the menu, and what stood out to us was the variety with seafood and meat. The sushi and seafood were a nice balance because the A5 Wagyu can get pretty rich and heavy. Our favorites were definitely the specialty items, especially the A5 Wagyu short rib, A5 Wagyu finger meat, Wagyu nigiri, and A5 Wagyu sirloin. Definitely the salmon carpaccio and nigiri are worth the order and can help balance out the meal. The other AYCE items were also really good, especially the ribeye and tender meat. First time at a Chubby Cattle. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Great place to gather and have good food. However, the AYCE experience is way different IMO. The meats, shrimp, sushi, and specialties are ordered through a computer program. Very forward thinking. The Curry Wagyu mixed with rice was simply tantalizingly delicious. The Wagyu Steak is 1/4" thick cooking pretty quickly. The pork belly was fantastic along with the large shrimp . Hint: the large shrimp? Suck the head like a crawfish. The smorgasbord bars are set up differently. Sauces, vegetables, fruits and desserts along with 3-4 hot food areas. Inside is very tight but walkable. Just be cognizant when walking around bcz the kitchen does have very hot foods coming out through the walk paths. For the initial price of $58, enjoy the experience and as much Wagyu and large shrimp as possible. For this price up to Premium, I can find better but it's worth a try at least once. 4/11/26 First time here to celebrate my anniversary dinner. I have heard a lot of good things about chubby cattle but never experienced it. We joined the waitlist two hours prior to dining and the time frame worked out. After checking in, we waited another 5 mins before getting seated. Our server Moses was friendly and informative of how the whole dining experience goes. The limited dining time definitely creates some anxiety but it did not affect the amount of food we could devour. Touchscreen ordering was responsive and the left hand corner timer was helpful to check when we could order and how much time we had left. I was impressed by their selection of drinks: hot teas, milk teas, slushies and soda bar. The condiment bar was small but had all the pertinent ingredients. Nice selection of fruits and a great hot food bar area and lastly desserts. Again, I missed out on more than a few things because I enjoyed the A5 meat way too much. We got the gold tier and it was phenomenal. The server cooks the fancy meat and we cook the rest. A5 was just melt in your mouth delicious. Loved the grill grates but must keep a close eye to prevent over cooking the meat. My husband also loved the plate meat. He said it was also super tender and flavorful. The dipping sauce is the bomb. Salmon sashimi fresh. wagyu foi gras. I like my meat a bit more cooked so I put it on the grill for a few seconds and greatly enjoyed it. The hand rolls were good too. Tom yum soup was nice and spicy. Loved it. The overall meat delivery and server check in was very good. Moses also came over to cook for us a few times which was nice. Before we visited, we told ourselves there is absolutely no need to join the chubby club. Well, one meal in, we felt very different and decided to join. V was our server today. Again, she was very professional and helpful. Came here on a Saturday and we all know that Saturday 5pm is the most busiest time of the week for them. But it was very pleasant experience because we were being served by V very well. Came here to try the Chubby Cattle BBQ Cerritos location after visiting a few of their other spots, and I was curious how this one would be. From what I've noticed, most locations in this chain are pretty consistent when it comes to quality and service. The food here is really fresh. The meats were good quality, and I also really liked the hot and kitchen items. There's a good variety, so it doesn't feel repetitive even if you come back. The vibe is fun and casual, and the space feels cozy even though it's not too big. Staff were friendly and attentive, and big thanks to our server, Ranier , he made the whole experience more fun and memorable. I could even call him right from my table, which was super convenient. One thing I really like about this location is how convenient it is. You can join the Yelp waitlist when you're still about 2-3 miles away, which gives you more flexibility and saves time. I haven't really seen that at other locations, so it's a nice plus here. Also, there were plenty of parking spots right in front when I came I'd come back again when I'm in the area. read more

First time trying out this location. This location is smaller than the Rowland Height location. The self service bar is also a lot smaller. We got the silver tier to try. The meat selection is the same as the other locations but I have to say the meat tasted a lot better at this location. The meat plates are more flavorful and tender. I am glad this location is closer for us to come back again. Service was excellent. Neil served us tonight and he was attentive. He made sure we received all of our dishes thru out the night. The milk tea here is better too. Not as water down like the one at the RH location. Super easy to find parking here. Definitely will come back again. read more

I'm a member of the chubby group and have tried a few of their restaurants. Came here with the hubby for a late lunch early dinner and we were both left unimpressed. Service was efficient and attentive. All the servers were friendly and approachable. The Chubby group has their formula down. Almost Starbucks like, the put enough design effort to elevate the interiors to enhance the dining experience. Asian enough without being gaudy. We've tried all three tiers of their meat levels and this time we settled for the silver as we didn't silver and gold when we've visited their shabu places. Perhaps we should have stuck to the highest level of meat. Earlier in the year we went to the little Tokyo location and truly loved it. Don't get me wrong ñ, everything was good and delicious, just not as delicious as the little Tokyo location. I'll definitely keep in mind that the higher level of meat does make a difference. The Argentinian red shrimp were massive and delicious and unfortunately decided to try it out towards the end. Theres a whole drink station with milk teas, slushes and sodas. Another station with some desserts and veggies. It's worth the price, more so if you are a member. read more
