The reviews seem a little off for the place. Good parking, super friendly and attentive staff, fast service. I had the quesadillas app, we shared the giant candied chicken salad and our friend has the croissant sandwich. The portions were huge and everything was spot on. It is definitely a golf course club feel and it wasn't knock your socks off special, so one star off. If you are in the area and want solid American mid-high end food stop here. read more

Nooooooooo! Gave them yet another try. 10 minutes waiting to be seated, only to be told to seat ourselves. Another 10 minutes waiting for table service, menus, water... Then we noticed 2 servers for the bar plus 20 tables. And, no one had food! A few had drinks but no food! Been probably 10 years since we walked out of a restaurant because of no service, but that's what we did. Went to Coyote Grill just down the road for a dose of normal restaurant service. read more

We have been here twice for lunch and dinner and the food we ordered is amazing! The restaurant is very nice and clean. The staff is very prompt with service. We ordered the club sandwich, carnitas nachos, avocado steak salad, the kids butter pasta with veggies and fruit. My son loved his pasta and we finished everything on our plates. We also had an old fashioned, Malibu and pineapple and Bloody Mary with Tito's vodka. Overall we were very happy with the service and food we received. I really do not understand the low rating. I love this place! Food is ALWAYS very good. Service is occasionally a little slow, but I mean if you are in Green Valley what's the rush, right? :) I've always have had a great experience there. I have never had an issue with my food...ever! It's my favorite place to visit when I go to Green Valley. Do not let the low ratings stop you from trying this place. The ambiance is also very good. Not loud. I've been living in Green Valley full time for 8 years, In that time I have never gone to this facility and found anything that was there before. The food always changes, the cooks, the wait staff. Its a zoo. Truth is, its just not managed very well. It is not worth the drive out to the end of Del Sol. Cost of fare is so so, kind of high, but really it's just a surprise every time and not a good one. Today, 2 Cob Salads (most definately not great) 2 glasses of wine, 1 piece of keylime pie (good), $60. $3 for a little dinner roll!!!!!!! I witnessed multiple employees plating dishes without gloves! Touching patrons food with their bare hands seconds before being served. One of the employees noticed I was looking as he touched my food and he haphazardly washed his hands afterwards in a poor attempt to undo what I saw. The kitchen staff then congregated after they realized I was observing and put on gloves as though annoyed they had been caught. After being seated we waited at least half an hour for water and another 15 minutes for an actual wait person. Drink orders arrived shortly after and we placed order for food. Another long wait. Actually the food was very good Our bill was incorrect, having ordered from the lighter portion we were charged for the full price portion, an extra 12 dollars. Just checked in at Canoa Golf Resort. Since they do not have a restaurant, it was recommended to come here. It's just across the parking lot. I ordered the pecan crusted chicken salad. I wanted it with honey mustard dressing, however they do not offer it. So I had it with thousand island. The service was great, kept on checking in with me to make sure everything was good, and kept my water filled. The salad was amazing. This thing had, Mandarin oranges, apples, cranberries, pecans, chicken, and of course the most important part of a salad? Lettuce! We have no reason to leave anything less than five stars. We try to make it here every year when we visit Green Valley. We love that there is a happy hour with food and alcohol too. Our server Frank, was very attentive. He knew we wanted to get our order in before happy hour ended at 5:00. We had a couple of beers and ordered the sliders and fries and it was all that we needed. We loved sitting outside on the outdoor patio-watching the golfers chip and putt was a fun way to pass our time...and an occasional roadrunner too! read more

I've been there a few times after golf and was there yesterday waiting for some friends to finish. I was at the bar for 15 minutes. A few employees came by and no one said a word until I asked if I could get served. This seems to be the norm here. The staff are very friendly and there's a nice atmosphere, but the service is extremely slow. read more

As most neighbors know GOG has changed managers. We went during the transition period (before the new menu) and the results were mediocre. We decided to give them another chance and were generally pleased with the results. I will say that the prices are quite a bit higher. Their new idea of "happy hour" is 15% off of six of their listed appetizers, which strikes me as a little "chintzy." We didn't ask about drink prices. However, the food was excellent, and our server "TJ" did a superb job. This is a beautiful restaurant with a great view. Let's hope they continue to improve. read more

Food is absolutely awful based on the firecracker shrimp and chorizo nachos, which were appetizers costing at least $14 each. Shrimp - we received 9 tiny shrimp that could have come from the freezer section of Dollar General. Flat, tiny, and awful breading. Come to think of it; they could were also smashed flat, similar to popcorn shrimp that you might find at KFC or long John silvers. Simply unbelievable. $2 if you made them yourself or $3 if you bought them at a third rate FAST food place. Then there were the chorizo nachos. We received a tiny bowl of chorizo and cheese dip with an inadequate volume of chips to eat the dip. The dip was a weak cheese sauce with 1/12 pound of chorizo in it. Flavorless. And who gives a serving of dip with 15 chips? Finally, we had a special happy hour mixed drink with no alcohol in it. Unfortunately, we were charged for an actual mixed drink. If you want food, please don't eat here. It is a complete scam, and management should be embarrassed by the product that is provided. I would rather buy fast food at McDonalds than eat here. At least when you order food at a nasty fast food restaurant, you know what you're getting. This restaurant is a complete fraud and disappointment. Shame on you! If you work for your money and expect a fair trade, avoid this place like the plague. read more

First visit back since the new menu and I say hallelujah! Had the gnocchi with lobster and it was delicious. We had eaten there on several occasions over the past couple of years and all dishes were consistently under seasoned plus the menu was very pedestrian. I attended a workshop over the weekend held in the banquet room at Canoa. We had lunch at the Grill on the Green, all four of us at our table had a very good lunch. I'm not going to say it's cheap, but I had the Sriracha seared salmon salad for and it was very good. One person in my group had the New England lobster roll which came with a nicely cooked, generous serving of real lobster and a decent side salad. My salad was $17 (nice size piece of salmon), and the lobster roll was $23 (not bad considering a lobster roll is now $30 in Maine!). Our server was polite and on the ball. Easter brunch was a significant disappointment. I found the food to be tasty, but the potions were tiny and nowhere near worth the cost. I wanted a cheeseburger and fries so my friend suggested this place since its down the street from his house since we are visiting from out of state. They had about 30 min before closing and it seemed they didn't like that. After looking at the menu I wanted to try the rib eye shaved sandwich but after I got it and ate it it quite didn't hit the spot. I wouldn't even give it one star if I could review it without rating it. My salad ordered no tomato had tomato and the lady Melissa was incredibly rude about it. I ordered a filet medium well. It was rare to the point of inedible in several places. The rest of the places were literally burned. The mashed potatoes were instant and you could tell. It was really really gross. Worse yet my daughter ordered the seafood linguine. It was so fishy she might as well have caught a mackerel straight from the ocean and bit into it. It was completely inedible. read more

Last night we enjoyed a tasty Chicken Marsala entree and Pork Loin. However, the veggies were undercooked. Even a novice chef knows that carrots take twice as long to cook as other veggies. I am aware that some people enjoy somewhat crispy veggies, while others prefer them cooked. I don't think anyone wants enormous sized carrots that are impossible to bite into. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable meal and the service was excellent. read more
