    Sushi (carne asada cheese shrimp)

I thought the food was delicious although the waitresses got out order wrong twice once with my drink and mix up with the Mocaljete, She was sweet apologized and brought us our food and it didn't take very long to refire our order. We ordered a sushi with asada shrimp cheese delicious even better with soy sauce. Also had Margarito Michelada and Mocaljete.... Flavor was great on the food but I would have liked tortillas with the Mocaljete and maybe a little rice and beans. Environment was nice welcoming and plenty of seating. I would come again.

We stopped by on a Thursday night because they close around 10:30. The restaurant was pretty empty so we were seated immediately and service was quick. I ordered the asada with shrimp plate and the meat was very well seasoned. My wife got a cóctel de camarón and she really enjoyed it. I'll definitely come back on a weekend for lunch/dinner. They have a stage so it seems like they have live performances. Food: 3.5 Service: 5

We used to come to this location when it was a Chinese Restaurant. We were sad to see it go. However, I am excited to try Mariscos la Ceiba! It always seems packed when we drive by, especially on the weekends. We stopped by today to look at the menu for next time. The restaurant has a big open feel to it. Plenty of room to get around. The gentleman I spoke to (in English and my limited Spanish) was very courteous and easy to talk with. He gave us a menu to look at and I wish I would have snapped some photos to share, like he suggested. The menu is pretty big, lots of items to choose from. Plus, they have daily (weekday) specials listed on the front doors inside. I posted a photo of it, in English and Spanish. Most dishes without a special are about twenty dollars each. I believe they have live music on the weekends. It was pretty calm when I walked in earlier today. Will be back!

What can I say, La Ceiba hit a little different. I just get some ceviche and maybe a drink or two. But La Ceiba gets loud and it's like an entertainment restaurant. It's get lit. Very impressive. Huge, got a stage and everything. Check it out.

Ordered asada with shrimp plate to go. Everything was overcooked and the rice was tasteless. Disappointed and we will not return.

The waitress explained items on the menu that we had questions on with no problem. She was very attentive and welcoming. Don't let the outside stop you. You will be happy you gave it a chance. But once you walk in, it's a completely different experience! I ordered the sizzling rock with chicken, steak, shrimp, cactus, salsa, cheese, and even a little piece of chorizo. It came out sizzling and smoking, which made the presentation so fun! The flavors were delicious, and it came with rice and beans. I also tried the ginger mint drink, and it was SO refreshing! Definitely something I'd order again. The only thing that was a little off for me was the rice--it had a slight taste that I didn't love. Other than that, everything was really good. Fun tip: They also do a really cool birthday celebration! You get to wear a HUGE sombrero while they bring out a giant sparkler. Such a fun way to celebrate and make a memorable experience. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out if you're in Modesto!

Service was good both visits too -- we never had to hunt anyone down or sit there wondering where our food was. The Cajun fries are what I keep thinking about. The seasoning on them is really good. Prices feel pretty fair for a seafood boil -- not cheap, but not Sacramento-trip expensive either. I'd rather come here than drive all the way out there for something that's basically the same price. Mixed drinks were good. Favorite so far is the tamarind margarita. This is my go-to seafood boil spot now. I'll be back.

The bag arrived much spicier than expected, and my friend was barely able to eat it. When we brought it up, our server immediately insisted it was the correct spice level rather than checking with the kitchen or trying to find a solution. She also assumed I would finish the entire bag myself, when I explained we share one, and would have to charge us extra for a new bag or small side portion for my friend but it was not our mistake. What disappointed me most was the lack of service recovery. There was no apology, no effort to investigate, and no attempt to accommodate the situation. Mistakes happen, but good customer service is about how they're handled. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed rather than helped.

This is an event venue too. It's a few miles off the freeway, but easy to find. We picked out a booth and our server was right there to take our drink orders. We ordered the Chicken Club (no onions). It took a few minutes more than I expected, but our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The sandwich is hearty with a big slice of bacon and a healthy portion of fries. The space is very comfortable and open. We weren't rushed at all. Since we still had a few hours to go, we opted for a to-go box for half the sandwich and fries. If you are traveling through the Central Valley on Hwy. 99, make an effort to find The Post Restaurant.
