Visited on 12/11/25 with family. Located in the Walmart shopping center, this spot offers a fun and interactive dining experience. Choose your broth, serve, served in mini crockpot heated on table top burners, then create your own dipping sauces at the sauce bar. Meat Proteins come by "Bullet train" and noodles, veggies, seafood come by on a conveyor belt. Tip: designate someone to grab items from the conveyor if you're seated in a long booth. Fresh ingredients, customizable flavors, and unique set up and make this a great choice for a family outing. Pros: plenty of food options and variety; interactive, and fun dining experience. Cons: hard to get in and out of booth if you need more sauce; sauce station access can be inconvenient; bowls stack up quickly, making the table cluttered.

Wow, I was so impressed with the uniqueness of this place! I've been to conveyor belt sushi places before but this is the first time I have seen individual hot pots with accompaniments coming to you on a conveyor belt! What a great concept!! Everyone is seated with their own individual hot pot plate to build their own individual hot pot. (Don't worry it does not burn). You choose your basic soup broth, choose the meat you would like, and then start grabbing things off the conveyor belts! It not only is a fun concept, you can get quite creative with how you build your hot pot and choose just the things to your liking. I was amazed that they had very authentic Chinese ingredients to choose from - wood ear, enoki mushrooms, bok choy, different kinds of noodles, fish balls, Napa cabbage, octopus, and lots of different varieties of selfish, plus much much more! I chose the traditional broth and they even had Chinese red dates in it plus wolfberries (sometimes known as Goji berries) in the broth just like what I grew up with The service was just ok, since it was our first time there we had to ask a lady to show us what we were supposed to do. She was helpful, but the servers don't come around very often. That said, the plates and dishes clutter up really fast and they don't come around very often to clear the dishes, for which I would have taken a star off. But my experience there with conveyor belt hot pot was so nice that I'm leaving it at five stars. What I liked best besides the authentic ingredients, is that you can become quite creative to build your own hot pot to your own liking.

Came here around 2:30 pm on a Sunday and the tables were full from likely the 12 pm crowd. Service- 3 stars. When you enter, you have to wait to get seated. You see employees walking around but none ever acknowledge your presence. When the couple ahead got seated after waiting a few minutes, we were in turn to get seated. I'm all about seeing how customer service is, and the fact that the manager (Asian guy with glasses) was talking to the waitress behind the counter and still didn't acknowledge us, tells me alot that there is no training of the staff to greet customers. Well, when we finally got noticed, there was no seats so the manager tells us to sit in the back where there is tables but no conveyor belt working. I had the seat facing the register and while we were waiting on the tables not being serviced, I saw a couple that came in and got seated before us! When my wife saw that, she confronted the manager who didn't apologize and made some excuse but clearly he forgot we were in line. By the time we did get seated, we had to wait for a waitress to take our order (5 plus minutes). And another good 5 minutes plus to get our chosen broth. The meat came way ahead by train before the broth so it was a lot of time wasted before we got our soup based pot. Meat selection- 3 stars. Not a lot of options (just 4)for the base price so we just got beef and pork belly. I chose the original soup (pork and chicken broth) and my wife got Hawaiian curry. Nothing special with it and you really have to go to the condiment bar to season it with things like green onions, ponzu, house sauce, chili oil, etc. 3 stars The conveyor belt had a lot of options- I got a lot of the noodles to put in my broth and veggies. The pot sticker was good when added to the soup. We did get full with our meal and since I've been to many hot pot and shabu shabu places, this one is fair to others. Would I come back again? Maybe when they are less busy and easier to get a table and better service. There was this one Asian waitress with glasses that made the meal a bit better with her acknowledging the mistake the manager did and was helpful in explaining things and getting what we needed. For her - 5 stars

Our first two plates of "Main Meats", Ribeye Beef and Lamb. Also available, Pork Belly and Chicken.

We had tickets to a show at the Gallo Center for the Arts. We had checked the Princess in at a kennel in Dublin so we weren't in a rush. We had arrived in the area early and caught a movie at the Galaxy Theater in Riverbank and now needed to feed ourselves before our evening show. We are fans of many things Hawaiian and also of Shabu Shabu. For those who are not familiar, shabu shabu means swish, swish in Japanese. You get a pot of broth to cook meat, seafood and vegetables in. Most of the meat is very thinly sliced and dragging it through the broth quickly for 5 seconds is enough to cook it. The page for Hawaii Pot Shabushabu House caught my eye. The reviews were okay, as were the pictures. The price that was shown was $31.95 for Adult Dinner in 2024. When we arrived, the current price is $33.95 plus $3 for unlimited fountain drinks. That includes your "Main Meats" We were seated side by side at the counter facing the conveyor belt. Those who are familiar with conveyor belt Sushi Restaurants will feel quite comfortable here. The server will take your drink order as well as your broth, appetizers and "Main Meats". They will serve you water and bring you a small plate, bowl, and set-ups as well as any appetizers and drinks that you ordered. The conveyor belt has two levels. The main level has plastic doors that slide so you can reach in to grab plates of whatever you want. We found Shrimp, Fish, Fish Balls, Calamari, Mussels, Beef Balls, Smokie Sausages, Spam, Enoki Mushrooms, Wood Ear Mushrooms, Spinach, Broccoli, Tofu, Ramen, Udon and more. Each plate has a plastic dome that you simply remove. Stack the domes and plates to the side after you've taken the contents, and staff will be by frequently to pick them up. The upper level of the conveyor belt has a mini "Shinkansen" (bullet train) locomotive with one car. This is how your "Main Meats" are delivered. The train stops in front of you, you collect the plates and then press a button on the locomotive, and it goes away. There is a station that has ingredients for you to mix your own sauces. Items since as Soy Sauce, Sesame Sauce, Ponzu, Garlic, Green Onions, Cilantro and more. There's also a small salad bar with Wakame Salad, Kim Chee, and some cut fruit. We particularly liked that each diner got their own hot pot. There were a few ingredients missing that we would have liked to have seen and would not have increased their food costs because they would have reduced the consumption of other items. Bamboo Shoots, Lotus Roots, Daikon, White Mushrooms, Raw Chicken Egg, Corn, Green Beans and Carrots. We did not see the Scallops that Mary W. got last week. Also, we would have enjoyed some South Pacific or Hawaiian Music. No, you can't please everyone all of the time and I did ask. The server said that it just depended on who was working and there was one employee who played a lot of Hawaiian tunes. For the price, this was an experience that we would repeat when in the area. We got there early so it wasn't crowded. The food was decent as was the service. Mahalo!

The highlight of this place is the revolving topping belt and the train that brings you the meat you order. It is unlimited toppings and we had complimentary ice cream at the end. They also have a sauce bar which made it really fun to customize your own soup. This is definitely a fun experience.

I know I'm probably in the minority here but I don't like pho, and most Ramen places like ramen 101 are too expensive and don't have enough of what I want. But Hawaii Pot on McHenry in Modesto CA was perfect, had everything I wanted/loved and more. I had an absolute blast coming here for my mother in laws birthday, there was four of us. My wife was the designated "hurry up and grab stuff" person and at her expense we had a hilarious night lol. Service was awesome, they let us try the five (5) main popular sauces so we could make an informed decision. Two of us got the Hawaiian Curry (which was amazing) and two got the Hot and Spicy (but honestly they were all great choices) We were not told about the fruit bar, condiment bar, or free scoop of ice cream with every dinner but found out later and plan to take advantage of those next time. Fruit bar has some fruits, obviously, and kimchi and seaweed pallet refreshers. The condiment bar has green onion, sauces and a few other items to enhance your meal. The meats were delivered on an awesome little Japanese high speed rail train (I think, like a bullet train) and it's super cute. You also get a ton of meat. The tables are spacious, even for someone of my size (400lb/5xl) and we all fit very comfortably. Offerings: Broccoli, mushrooms, cabbage, udon, seimen, rice noodles, meatball (not good imho), spam, little smokies, kielbasa or linguisa sausage, seafood (mussels, shrimp, etc), quail eggs (to die for), imitation crab, fish balls, rice cakes, potstickers (I ate so so many potstickers) and what feels like so much more! I absolutely cannot wait to go back, definitely a repeat customer, and we didn't even try their half off dinner apps (I am sad to see Chicken Katsu wasn't offered when I went in May) Ice cream we had was the Carmel and the Green Tea (didn't like but it's included so try it out) Be prepared to make a mess, have a good laugh, drink a strong drink, and eat some amazing food! Just remember to have fun, be polite, and don't take more than you can eat.

Came to Hawaii Pot Shabushabu House for dinner and really enjoyed it! Located off McHenry, to the left of the Walmart, Hawaii Pot serves AYCE hot pot along with some other goodies. The inside is a nice teal blue with lots of bamboo motifs. Booths line along a conveyer belt rotating things to cook in your broth from noodles to seafood to little mochi "beanos" as a reviewer previously mentioned. I think the only things Hawaiian here are their Hawaiian curry broth (already questionable), their decor and music choice, and maybe the seaweed salad. Everything else is typical hot pot/shabu fashion with the sauce bar, sliced meats, and special conveyor belt (with functioning train!) The SO got their OG broth, which is chicken/pork based. I went with their Hawaiian curry - slight kick and subtle curry flavor. I liked that we could sample the broths before committing to one. The meat (beef, lamb, pork) were pretty good. Each plate of meat was heaping so we only ordered 1 round between the both of us (amateurs). Service was friendly and we were checked on regularly. Everyone who helped us was so nice and accommodating. At the end of our meal, we were given 1 free scoop of ice cream each. They had vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and dulce de leche! These were presented with a dollop of whipped cream and a chocolate sauce drizzle, so if you're not a fan of either, just make sure you notify your server so they leave it off. Some notes: - I liked that there is a pre/post-dinner self serve area that has fruits, salted peanuts, edamame, kimchi, and seaweed salad. - I also liked that the sauce bar was a whole other self serve area and included crushed peanuts! - Appetizers are a la carte and NOT part of AYCE. We opted out of ordering any this time. - There was a pesky fly roaming around us for a good part of our meal. We appreciated that the conveyor belt has a sliding door at each booth to provide some sort of protection from grubby hands or curious insects. Overall we left completely stuffed and I wouldn't mind returning as it's one of the only AYCE shabu spots in the area!

I was only in Modesto for a few nights and I saw the ratings here on Yelp and knew I had to try it. Staff was extremely friendly with explaining the mechanics and showing me where everything was. I've been to multiple Shabushabu restaurants in the past but I LOVED how this one had the conveyer belt system. The sauce bar was elite and the meat quality was fantastic. Really no complaints (other than how I wish I could show my family/friends this spot). Next time I'm in Modesto, I will be back!

I've been here 3 times since first trying it in October and this is hands down my favorite spot in Modesto. It's such a great and unique dining experience. The service is always great as well! I always go with the hot and spicy and try different things from the conveyor belt that has all the stuff that you can add to your broth. If this is your first time here you might feel a bit overwhelmed but the staff do a fantastic job of explaining how everything works. Food:5/5 Service 5:5

This spot was really good. I enjoyed the island vibe and someone was playing a fire poly playlist. Customer service was excellent, I went in the afternoon and it wasn't too busy. I was seated quickly, the waitress was very helpful with what was popular and where to stock up on sauces, salads, or dessert if there's room left for it. The lunch and dinner prices were very reasonable in my opinion with lots of protein options to choose from ( as far as hot pot protein goes) I ordered the Hawaiian Curry and it was flavorful with a nice salty finish. Well rounded broth. I also ordered all 4 meat choices. 1. Ribeye - first batch was marbled and the next batch (refill) was a lot more lean for a ribeye. 2 Lamb - This was by far my favorite with the broth I had, I should also eat more lamb. The second and third batch was consistent throughout. 3. Pork Belly - Really good but I opted for the lamb and didn't order this again. I figured if I'm going to enjoy some protein it would either be the Lamb and Ribeye. 4. Chicken - Breast Meat. Not my favorite. Even after following the cooking suggestion it was just dry in the hot pot. Remember you cook your own meal so I'm the one to blame here lol. After trying all the meat options I reordered just the ribeye and lamb. The conveyer belt had lots of great options, fresh noodles, fishballs, greens, seafood options like shrimp, imitation crab, mussels etc... Front if the house was on point and the broth I had was good too... I will be coming back for sure.

Stopped by for dinner here and i was pleasantly surprised! There's parking in front of the restaurant and the restaurant is very spacious! I recommend sitting at the bar so you can pick and choose what sides you want in your hotpot. You first pick your broth then they bring out a personal pot for you. You order meat of your choice and you can choose sides from the conveyer belt. It was so efficient and cool. The meat quality was so good. We ordered beef and pork belly. So perfectly thinly sliced and the broth was flavorful too. I ordered Tom yum. They have a wide range of sides which I appreciated. The only thing I would request to be added is rice cakes!! The service was excellent- very friendly staff and quick delivery. Will def come back!

First time going, went with my family and everyone tried a different soup base. I loved the tom yum one, and the soup kept getting tastier as I cooked more meat in it. I ate a ton and was so full, but not in a gross way like after some of the buffets you go to. My nephew enjoyed grabbing things off the conveyor and seeing the train deliver the meats. Mom was impressed at how much seafood was available. Apparently some people got ice cream, I was bummed to see later, because we weren't offered any--I always have room for ice cream. But, I'd definitely still go back!

Conveyor choices of food to choose from

Came here on Sunday evening with a party of 7. We had to sit two separate tables but that was fine. Hostess was really nice and friendly. Seated and had to choose your broth base (few options) and meat options that you order through the server. Self serve station for your dipping sauce and fruits station. Conveyor of noodles, vegetables, meat, seafood etc for you to pick from. We got comp with ice cream and it was good esp the matcha flavor. Service was superb and food was good. The only thing I would say is that they need to install a fan at the front so that flies or bugs don't entered easily. I saw flies in the conveyor most food are covered except some items. Will come here again.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION- YOU WILL GET SICK! If I could…read moregive this place 0, I would. The reviews definitely don't reflect the actual service and food at this location. Starting off, my best friend and I were in Modesto for Barnes and Noble to get some books for my son. This location being right next to the bookstore was convenient so we went inside. The young girl who served us looked disgusted the moment my best friend said she'd never eaten there and wasn't sure how to order. She looked at her like she was stupid and just said what do you want and was not helpful whatsoever. She got the small poke bowl and I got a small donburi bowl. After what took over 5 minutes for her getting our two bowls from us, she walked away after I paid and I had to ask another worker for a lid to my bowl. Whatever, service sucked, maybe she was having a bad day? We sat down to eat (still hadn't gotten the chicken tempura and gyoza I had ordered for my son). Before my son's food even was ready I had bitten into a very bad piece of shrimp tempura that tasted as if the inside of the batter was covered in mold. I immediately spit it back out into a napkin and just sat there about to throw up. I sat there thinking this is probably just a mistake and maybe I imagined it. Then my son showed me his chicken that he said he didn't want to eat. It was old, rubbery, did not resemble chicken at all, and had black stuff around the chicken under the batter. I went to the worker who was at the counter and told her what we had received. She didn't seem surprised at all, but more surprised I wanted a refund for the two items that were spoiled. No manager onsite, apparently they usually aren't there. She called the manager who did not answer the phone but proceeded to text the worker. Asking exactly what happened several times and then proceeded to say the black on the chicken is seasoning before it's fried, which is not true because the come pre battered and it was just old. I had accepted no refund on the chicken for the ridiculous excuse, but I wanted a refund on the donburi bowl at the very least. The manager asked her to open my napkin and send a pic of the shrimp!!!! THAT IS SO NASTY! That young girl does not get paid enough to be doing all of that. That is revolting! I ended up opening it for her so she didn't have to so she could and a pic. Then the manager stopped responding to her by text. That's fine, Manager, that's fine. You should've just given me a refund for your nasty ass food that was not edible. Now you'll be receiving a visit from the county health department as they were called the moment I left your restaurant because of the food being kept at room temperature, your dirty facility, and the spoiled food you're serving to paying customer. This idiot sent me into my Karen era and I do not even care. Don't mess with people's food. Good luck.

On our way home from a concert in Turlock, I suggested we try the Ono Hawaiian place in south Ceres. We came in; no one greeted us, so we went to the digital ordering system. I input my order: the fire chicken with mac, rice, and mixed veggies. My wife put in a fish dish with her sides. We paid and sat down. Twenty minutes later, we noticed that people who had come in and ordered after us were served and gone (they did not order online, came in and ordered, waited, got their meals, and left), so I went up to the counter, and since no one was paying attention (again), I had to call out to get someone to wait on me. He came over and I told him what we ordered and that we had been waiting. I had also noticed that my wife's was on the bill, but my Fire Chicken had disappeared. I had ordered it first. He seemed confused from the outset, took notes on what I was saying, crossed out my wife's order, and put in another order, this time for just my part (he left out hers completely). Here we are, two people, with two orders placed, sitting, waiting. A few minutes later (now it was 30+ past when we ordered), they called our number. My wife went to get it, and after we unpacked it at our table, we noticed that hers was indeed missing. I went over to the counter and again, since no one was attending, got a young lady's attention and tried to explain the deficiency, to which she responded, "I didn't wait on you." I said, but you people forgot my wife's order, to which she replied, "I didn't wait on you." This reflects badly on her manager, for clearly he didn't train her and on her lack of understanding that she works with a team. Yelp prompts me to comment on the "ambiance," which I would say is "detached" and "unaware." We asked for a bag, took what was left of the order, went to Panda on the other side of the parking lot, got a fine meal for my wife, and told ourselves we would never come back to Ono Hawaiian Ceres again. There are so many better options nearby; skip Ono Hawaiian (maybe it's so called because when they screw up, you say, "Oh no"). For us, if a friend mentions this place, we will say, "Oh no," and tell them our story.
