Absolutely amazing !!!!. This is the place where you can come if you really want authentic Mexican food. This location has been here for years and is super famous in the area. This is the place my family always chooses to go eat too when the whole family is out together. It's a great family restaurant where you can invite friends and family to a great dinner. The food is always amazing at least what we like to order. They are known for their signature dishes which are zarandeados. Which you can choose from shrimp, fish fillet or a whole fish. Our favorite is the whole fish Zarandeado. We usually order 6 pounds of it and that's great to feed five adults. It also comes with a side of rice and beans which are amazing, the best beans ever ( no joke ). Keep in mind that if you do order the whole fish, it will take around 30 to 45 minutes to be prepared. For that reason, we usually get some fish ceviche tostada to eat meanwhile. Two people could easily eat off of one tostada. Another favorite of mine is their signature Michelada. It is not your typical Michelada. They have created their one-of-a-kind michelada. Wanting to try something different, not nothing too crazy we stumbled upon Mariscos Martin after receiving a few recommendations to come here. In my opinion the hype is real, the food is good, the waits are long. Restaurant: Located off of Valley and the 605 Freeway, Mariscos Martin will deceive you and you will miss it if you don't keep an eye out for it. It does not look like much from the outside, actually it kind of looks run down from the outside, but if you see the long lines of people then you have found it. Inside, the restaurant is whole different story, it is very clean and nicely organized. Service was quick and prompt. The restrooms are in the back of the restaurant, there is usually lines to get in and they are not the cleanest around. Food: People come here for the food, and I can now see why. I had the shrimp fajitas, the rest of my group had the carne asada and shrimp plate and a fish sanadeado plate. The shrimp fajitas were not bad, definitely a safe plate to order that comes with loads of shrimp. The shrimp are cooked with your usual fajitas veggies of bell peppers, onions and tomatoes. The carne asada plate was good as well. The meat was nice and tender, not your usual tough cut. The wife ordered her shrimp al mojo de ajo (garlic butter). We all agreed that it was not the best of choices, and would probably ask for the shrimp to be sanadeado next time. The star for sure is the pescado sanadeado (fish). It tastes just like bbq chicken, but more tender. It comes with a chili oil that is spicy, but adds some nice smokey flavor to the fish. Notes: We took a carne asada plate home, all 4 plates + drinks came out to about $80. So budget about $20 for each person if they each order a combo plate. The beans are very good, and the rice tastes like rice pilaf. Parking can get crazy here, there is small lots all around that you can park at. We waited about 45 minutes, and were told that it was actually a small wait time, that it can be much longer than that usally. read more

I took a trip here with my family and a couple of good friends and I have to say that this is hands down one of the best mariscos spots that I have ever been to. I went with the pescado sarandeado and it is one of the best fish plates that I have ever had. Even the rice was on point (and that's hard to find). Also they have a unique michelada that doesn't have Clamato and it was delicious. I would recommend getting here early because the wait can be long but it is totally worth it. But on the inside, place is nice and clean and spacious. At the time I was here, customer service was great. Again 8pm on a Wednesday night. Food was delicious, and fresh. I have been to the other location before but decided to try this one instead. This location is a lot bigger and with an abundance of people waiting to be seated. I decided to come here after work on a Friday's night and boy, was there tons of traffic on the busy Valley Blvd. They do have their own parking lot and I got lucky with a great parking spot. You get to see all the chaos and the mixture of drinks. The waitress started us with some chips and salsa. I decided to give up chips so my hubby enjoyed all the chips, all for himself. Lucky boy. I decided to go with my favorite order, the filete sarandeado fish. I love eating this fish with the refried beans and rice. It's so good together. Also, you can't forget a splash of spicy chili oil. I said just a splash cause I won't be able to handle anything more than that. You need the chili oil! Perfect combo together. Also, this dish comes with tortillas. I always thought it came with corn but you get a choice of corn or flour. Of course, flour is for the win. Flour tortillas are delicious. Super fluffy. In addition, I ordered a horchata to drink. I honestly disnt find anything special about either one they both had a mix of seafood, but they didn't taste fresh enough and i feel like they both were missing some flavor. I ordered a shrimp taco and it came in foil, had guacamole and veggies and it was ok, honestly missing some good salsa to go with it. I have been eating seafood at Mariscos Martin for more than 25 years and it hasn't changed much. Mariscos Martin offers traditional Mexican seafood plates like Siete Mares, ceviche, Red Snapper, shrimp and fish tacos. When my parents lived in the area, we would visit Mariscos Martin regularly and it was one of my dad's favorites. I remember the seafood plates were very traditional, simple and flavorful. Since then, many newer mariscos restaurants and food trucks have sprung up and are offering more cutting edge, specialized seafood plates. Recently I visited Martins for lunch and some things have changed since when I was a regular. The parking lot and the shaded waiting area in front of the restaurant are newer enhancements since my earlier visits. Parking is free. Martins' is cash only and there is an ATM inside. For starters, chips and salsa are free. I ordered a tostada mixta and a shrimp taco. The Tostada Mixta is large and filling. The shrimp taco was tasty. For traditional Mexican seafood, Mariscos Martin is one of the better restaurants in the area and the food is still affordable. read more
