I appreciated Dr. Kavanaugh outsourcing me to a specialist for the the root canal but I had to go back to her for the crown to be replaced. Now it's less than 3 years later and my crown has popped off and compared to others crowns I've seen-- this one is just not at all made well. As stated previously, the establishment is good for dental maintenance but I can't in good faith recommend it for any major dental work outside of that.

The office is in a GREAT location, between 11th/12th and Main/Walnut. The front desk staff, office manager, assistants - all top notch and professional. Dr. Bruso was very professional, thorough, and took excellent care of me. I had the option of watching a movie or using their Bose noise-cancelling headphones, so I chose the latter and caught up on podcasts. When all was said and done, I left happy, slightly swollen, but very pleased. I will definitely be returning for care here!

I pointed out that she could give it to a family member... like my 90-year-old mother and he replied that it wouldn't happen. Really? I was disgusted and told the dental assistants that he would NOT being doing any dental work on my daughter with this attitude and lack of mask wearing. A few weeks later I get an estimate from him for her dental work in the mail. By then we had been to two more dentists to evaluate what needed to be done. His quote was over double both of theirs and included putting veneers on my daughter's teeth that both the other (highly recommended) dentists said were not necessary especially for a child. When she took my X-rays she would rush to take the bite stick out of my mouth as she could tell it wasn't comfortable, cleaned my teeth very well and did a great job around the permanent retainer I have on my lower teeth-last dentist office scraped the glue off and I had to have it replaced. I will request Jessica as my hygienist the next time I visit. When I met Dr. Sutton, he was very friendly and nice. Listened to all my questions about dental work and really explained well what was going on with my oral health. I would highly recommend this office. They didn't push products or procedures on me and seemed as if they genuinely cared about keeping my mouth healthy! This office also accepted my MetLife insurance.

I am recapping my experience with the dental office today. I would give them a below 0 score…read more This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a dental office and dentist. The individuals at the front desk, seem nice and sweet when you first engage with them but the minute I questioned something to get clarification they immediately go into hyper sensitive mode and get very defensive to the point where the front desk person raised her voice at me I had to say, I am not looking to argue with you I am just telling you what you told me when I was in last week. Obviously they do not like for a potential client to ask questions about their services. They get defensive very quickly. Example with front desk: When I was in the office last week I asked the price of a 2 surface filling. The front desk person told me $150 then she said $185. I made an appointment and went in the following week to have the dentist Scott do a filling for me. After the dentist looked at my tooth he sends the front desk person in with the pricing and there was an additional $80 for a consultation fee. She did not tell me there would be an additional $80 for a consultation fee the previous week when I asked for pricing before I made an appointment. While sitting in the dental chair I told her that she did not share this with me the previous week when I was asking about the cost. She then said, well you should have automatically known that because we charged that fee the 2 times when you were here before. Those previous times were to look at a tooth to determine what could be done not to have a procedure done that day. I understand the fee for that. She raised her voice to me to where I had to say, I do not want to argue with you I am just explaining to you what I was told when I asked a specific question about the cost. She was immediately getting defensive. Example with the dentist: My experience is that he didn't want to listen to me explain about my situation he just wanted me to be quiet and open up my mouth. This was my first time I was actually going to have him do a procedure on me. It seemed like he was trying to put the fear in me by telling me the worst case scenario before he even examines the situation. He was in the room listening when I was explaining to the front desk person that she did not share with me about the $80 consultation fee added on to the cost to do the filling. Scott then starts telling me about all of his credentials and comparing it to if you were to use a medical facility you would have to see multiple people with those credentials. I am thinking to myself....Doesn't all dentist have those credentials..........not sure why he had to go into all of that to defend his $80 fee and then he starts telling me that he has an expensive piece of equipment in the back and the service person charges him a $50 fee as a trip fee which he doesn't like. For around 10 min. Here I am sitting in the dentist chair listening to the front desk person raise her voice to me saying that I should have assumed there was going to be the $80 fee even though she did not share that with me and the dentist going into a long speech about his credentials and hard his staff works....etc..... Extremely uncomfortable. This is the short version. We decided this was not the place for me to be. Then when I get home I realized the other front office desk person had not emailed me all of my X-rays so I called her to request to have that done. She accused me of calling her a liar when the only thing I said was that I did not see an email from her with the xrays. As I was searching through my emails for the date she said she sent them she immediately said, "I did send them to you and you Should apologize to me" She immediately got defensive. I was baffled that she would say something like that. By the way she sent one X-ray but not both of them. I think it was a blessing in disguise for this event to happen to me so I did not engage with them to be a client.

It was an extensive process, so I spent many hours in her chair, and she would keep me entertained chatting or recapping the last movie she'd seen. :) Her staff is wonderful, too. Even though I only see them every 6 months or so now, I think they all remember little details about my life. It's a very pleasant group! A couple more notes about how great Dr. Mac is: 1) I had to have something like veneers put on my teeth, and I was concerned that they'd look fake, as I've seen some. NOPE! People compliment me on my smile all the time, and are surprised to learn it's not my natural one. 2) My husband, who dreads the dentist, told me he might actually go on a regular schedule after visiting her--it was such a pleasant experience.
