Previous main dentist, Dr. Platt, was great. The new dentist seems a little too eager to have teeth pulled, which makes me suspicious that he's doing that to rack up payment for the subsequent implants (hence the newly added "and implants" to their business name). Also, my father has cancer and needed a dental clearance for a bone strengthening infusion- despite going in person twice (once for the checkup, then again to follow up on needing the letter) to tell the dentist office and provide fax/contact info, the next time we went to his medical doctor, they still had not received the dental clearance letter. read more

Avoid the headache and disrespect and go somewhere else. Long, but honest review here... While I was always impressed and felt at home with the dentists and hygienists at this office, the front desk staff ruined my experience and trust in this business. First off, for understandable reasons, my appointment for a regular cleaning was canceled 3 times the night before or day of, when I requested and took time off work each time--once for a snow day, another for a sick hygienist, and the 3rd time the suction wasn't working in the office. I understand things come up and can't always be avoided, but it's difficult when you're a professional with limited time off and you take days for nothing. I did cancel three appointments as well, all for valid reasons--fever/covid, had to put down sick pet at the vet, and my grandma who was in hospice care died the day of. I called and canceled my appointment, right after finding out my grandma was almost gone and I wanted to get to her house before she passed. The receptionist who answered (sorry, don't remember name) was extremely rude and disrespectful. She said "Sure...and last time it was a dying pet." with no trace of empathy or understanding in her tone. I was appalled. She then continued to argue, saying they'd no longer be able to schedule me. I asked if Dr. Perriman could call me back to chat about the situation and the way I was being treated, and she yelled over the phone that "this was coming from the dentist." I've never been berated over the phone like that or interacted with someone as mean and disrespectful as this person was--let alone a client-facing professional. Within 1 minute of hanging up, I received a $50 payment link for a late cancellation. I understand this is normal for late cancellations and paid the fee. I just wish there was an ounce of empathy, understanding, and good customer service from this woman. After requesting a call from Dr. Perriman, I did have a positive phone call with a different front office receptionist. She was very respectful, understanding, and apologized for the mistreatment I'd received. I wish I remembered her name, so she'd receive her well-deserved recognition. They put me on the schedule, but I couldn't get past the mistreatment, disrespect, and hatred I received from the previous receptionist. I read some online reviews and found another local dentist that has staff who treat their patients with respect and dignity. I hope Dr. Perriman sees this review and conducts some performance reviews to ensure other patients are treated with more kindness and respect than I was. It seems like there have unfortunately been a good number of negative experiences/reviews for this practice recently. This review may seem confusing being glowing about this practice, but with a less than glowing rating, but after reading, you can all understand! I have been coming to this office for several years now, and I absolutely love Dr. Platt. He is very friendly and professional, and helps me takes care of my teeth. He's given me some good advice to help them be their best in the time that I've been using their services! The reason why I can't rate higher than a 3 star is because of the front desk receptionist. She seems to be the lead receptionist, possibly in some kind of managerial position, but she has absolutely no managerial expertise that I've seen. Her name is Eileen. In the best of interactions, she is cold and uncaring about any concerns I have, very dismissive. She is argumentative, and does not listen. I had a root canal just after the new year, and before they could find out that was what I needed, she told me to "just take ibuprofen, and you'll be fine." Dismissive. Ultimately, I had an abscess, so she was clearly not interested in that. Today, I called them to figure out if they take a new insurance. She refused to do any legwork to figure that out, (said she never heard of that; I HATE it when these office people play dumb on newer insurances) and argued with me. Found out afterward that I gave her the wrong name, and she was stuck on that name, but I finally was able to get out of her that they do take the insurance and they're in network with them. That's all I wanted to know, but she was so stuck on the details ("we can't tell you what benefits until the plan is in effect" - not what I was asking, just wanted to know if the insurance will be accepted, or if I need to get on another insurance so I can stay with this practice. At this point, I'm not even sure I want to stay with the practice; I was so infuriated. The general public does have a general understanding of how insurance works and how doctors work, but she acts like it's a chore to do anything but answer simple yes or no questions, and just sit there. I've always thought that bad receptionists will lose a good practice's patients. They are the front-line people, and face of these practices. Arguing with patients and telling them they will not do any work to learn about newer insurance companies/find out if they're in network with them is completely unacceptable behavior, and Gladstone Family Dental isn't even that close to me anymore, so this Eileen could very well be the reason I move on to a practice that actually cares about its patients' needs/concerns! read more

Dr Perriman is a fantastic dentist! I've had a couple fillings and a crown with him and assistant Christina and both were wonderful, patient and kind and answers all questions. I received a bill from Gladstone family dental showing that they did a bone graft with my extraction. I was never told beforehand that they were going to do this. I called and was told they did this in case I ever wanted an implant. The tooth that was extracted didn't have any other teeth next to it or under it so why would I want an implant there. Every time I've gone in for check ups I was asked if I was interested in implants to which I've always said no. read more

You won't see this review on Google because little known fact... businesses can pick and choose which reviews appear on their Google Maps profile. I tried to contact Google about my review and my husband and daughters going missing but it is their policy to let the business remove any reviews for any reason. The fact that this dentist office didn't want the public to see what they had done in a review and didn't want to listen to the recorded phone call of how their staff yelled and called me names is a huge red flag. My whole family were patients for over a decade when the practice was bought by these individuals 2019. At first there were red flags like they made my husband uncomfortable by trying to force him towards dentures. Then they had no patience or assistance for my daughter who we told them in advance had a fear of needles. Then the showed that they were transphobic by refusing to use my daughters pronouns and call her my daughter. I decided not to return to the office after that. Then I received a large bill for basic fillings that are normally covered by insurance but the dentist office had made a mistake in telling me I didn't need to wait until next year because it didn't count towards my annual limit. They lacked competency in their billing department. But I figured I would pay the $500 and be done with this horrible place. However the day before what would have been my next teeth cleaning the office staff called to demand I bring the $500 before I could return the next day. When I attempted to explain the situation she yelled at me and she transferred me and I was yelled at and name called more. I have my phone set to record all unrecognized phone calls so I recorded it all but the office doesn't care how their staff talk to people so they refused to listen to the phone call instead they want to cover it up. I hope Yelp will keep their policy of not letting businesses remove reviews because small individual people need some recourse when dealing with businesses. read more

I was involved in a verbal disagreement with Dr. Platt at Gladstone Family Dental Group over some paperwork. He physically pushed me out of the office and then shoved me hard several feet up against a hallway wall, bumping my head. I told him he just assaulted me and I was going to call police. Two nurses were there with him trying to calm him down/restrain him, and he then said 'no one saw anything' implying they would lie about it. Absolutely LOVE this dental group. However, the experience at the front desk has made me contemplate returning. Sarah was downright rude and made me feel like a horrible person for not arriving early to provide my new insurance card. Despite my apologies, Sarah continued to shake her head, sigh, and slam her computer mouse. Then upon checkout her rudeness continued. Today was my first visit with Gladstone Family Dental and I couldn't be more pleased with the knowledgeable staff, fast and friendly service, and best practices in action that I found there. Dr. Dale was warm, well-informed, and in no rush. He spent time talking with me about my overall health and I left feeling like he genuinely cared about my well-being. Front-desk staff can make or break an experience for me and the staff who greeted me and who helped me book my next appointment were superb. My husband and I switched here when we combined our dental insurance. It's just blocks away from our home, so close proximity is a major convenience. Also, the people who work here are always very pleasant and cheerful. I've experienced 3 different dental hygienists since we starting going here over 2 years ago. The 1st one was OK, the 2nd was the best I'd ever met (and she moved away) and the 3rd (most recent) was a little rough on my gums. The dentist I went to (Dr. Dale) was OK. He's a genuinely nice and considerate person. He wanted to replace all my previous fillings (because they were about 10 years old), but I'm not satisfied with them. We did it in 2 appointments, first one side of the mouth, then the other. The first replacement went as expected but the fillings were over filled to the point that my teeth & jaw started to ache a week or two later because there was too much filling. I had to go back in to have that fixed. This made me anxious about replacing the other fillings. The 2nd replacement appointment went fine but my apprehension about getting too much filling again made me request that it be polished down more than it was supposed to and now there's a gap between my upper and lower teeth that wasn't there before. In addition, I've had to have extra Novocain for the replacements which has never happened before. I've never needed more numbing injections before coming here. Now that I have new dental insurance, I will be switching back to my previous dentist that's closer to work, but further from home. read more

Dr. Platt and his assistant was absolutely awesome!!!!! Was referred to Dr. Platt by my best friend because I had a tooth broken off. Had already seen another dentist about this broken tooth before Dr. Platt. The first dentist put in a temporary filling that fell out within two weeks and said that he did not know whether he could put in a permanent filling, but to schedule another appointment and we will find out. That did not sound real promising, so I listened to my friend and made an appointment with Dr. Platt. When I asked him if it could be filled, he did not hesitate one minute and said, "Yes, I can put a permanent filling in that tooth." Keep in mind that I am a big baby when it comes to dental work. Prior to this dental work, I always had nitrous oxide just to clean my teeth. Dr. Platt was absolutely AMAZING!!! No nitrous before he got out that big bad numbing needle to stick in my gums and it was a piece of cake. Of course, I felt it, but I did not leave fingernail marks on the arms of the chair from clutching it. He tells you everything that he is doing and how long it will take as he is doing it. Now I want him to replace all of my old ugly silver-gray fillings with this lovely natural tooth colored filling. Now I have one brand new looking tooth along side my old ugly fillings. I go back to see Dr. Platt on August 9th to set up a game plan to get my teeth back in shape and I can actually say that I am not dreading this upcoming appointment at all. I just cannot say enough good things about Dr. Platt and the entire staff that I came in contact with today. Very pleasant experience. read more
