Logan and his wife coordinated many sub-contracted crews to get our pool deck and salt water pool…read moreredone with deck pavers, then replastering the pool. Logan also installed a new pool light fixture, added a new valve to the pool heat pump. But, back to the actual job. Prior to the construction, we chose our tiles & plaster composition, then all materials were delivered and ready. Stage one was to put down the pool collar L-shaped paver. A crew of 2 guys did that. The man doing the actual installation of the collar pieces did masterful work, constantly checking and re-checking for all of it being spaced and level. Stage two was a far larger crew of 6-8 who cleaned the deck, then layered & sloped sand everywhere. The actual laying of the pavers went incredibly fast. This also included installing new deck guttering. Stage three was the replastering of the pool. Logan prepped the pool surface, installed the tiles we preferred. The next day the plaster crew arrived. The whole process only took about 3-4 hours. Stage 4 was pool maintenance by Blue Dolphin. They came twice a week for a month to control the pool water chemistry, keep the filter clean, etc. On the last day, I was given lots of extra salt, acid, baking soda, and pool stabilizer. The complete process from doing the deck and the pool, then the thirty days of pool maintenance was 6 weeks. We love the new deck. Any rain, which used to pool, now flows into the gutters and the deck can be dry in 30 minutes after a passing storm. The new pool bottom with the sea glass tile sparkles. Logan was always available by phone call or text and was always straightforward in our communication. Minors issues came up in this construction process. He was responsive and worked to solve those issues to our GREAT satisfaction.

The staff and team were so great and professional. Turned my back yard into my own little sanctuary.read more

it was time to renovate our 2004 built guest bathroom and we wanted to covert the bathtub/shower to…read morea walk-in shower. we looked at two companies, the first is a national brand that promises a bathtub shower conversion in one day. We met with the sales person who provided us a plan cost for the renovation. They were very limited as to what they could do. The one thing that I did not like was that it would've been piece fiberglass type of modular unit. The other thing I like was that it would've required a step over into the shower space. We went to Island Homes and Renovations showroom in Vero Beach and met with the owner J. J. first of all the showroom is gorgeous and has many different examples on display. They had a large variety of tile and fixtures for us to look at as well. JJ is so knowledgeable about the renovations and homes that he was able to give us a ballpark price of what we were looking at as we find tuned the details of what we want. The price was just slightly higher than the other company, but it was exactly what we wanted. So we decided to contract with him and we could not be more pleased with the result. It pulling permits and inspections, which is what we wanted and we got exactly what we asked. The entire experience was well worth it. The new shower is gorgeous. It was very easy working with JJ and his team. They were always on time and they were immaculate with whatever process they were involved in. I cannot speak more highly about them. And I highly recommend Islande Homes and Renocations for your next project especially if you want a high-quality job to be done.

Would NEVER use this company again nor recommend this company to anyone. Our project was a…read morecomplete bathroom remodel and to change a guest room tub/shower to a walkin shower . It took 3 1/2 months. Actual time worked was approx. 2 months. (Lots of down time with no work being done). Supposedly 2 workers were fired and 3 workers quit. Some Building Dept. inspections failed and needed more time to fix and reinspect. No project manager unless you consider JJ the project manager. He only came out to our project 4 times and 2 of those visits were only to pick up a check. JJ's attitude got worse as time went on. He wanted to come and pick up a check for work that was in progress (Tile). At 1:00 pm that day the tile work was far from done. Tile was not installed in either shower and the tile walls in both showers needed more work. JJ launced into a "vicious "F Bomb" tirade against me - no conversation just verbal assaults. I told him when this phase of the project was done, he'd get paid. He then stated his workers don't like working for us and don't like my husband or I. Ironically this contridicted what the workers told us about JJ, such as "JJ is crazy". I asked him why he was talking like this to me and hung up on him after he continued to hurl the "F Bombs" at me. We questioned some of the work done and again JJ was aggraviated. The he insisted that his worker was annoyed because my husband constantly watched him - NOT true. NO such thing like the Customer is always right (except for Maria, she was great). Anger Management much needed with this company. As the project was nearing completion, we had enough. We skipped the Punch List. My husband fixed most of the small items and we hired a plumber to fix other outstanding items. At this point, we just wanted the project ended, JJ & workers gone, and to regain use of our bathrooms. Regret choosing Island Homes and Renovations for this project.
