Dr. Fagan and staff were extremely friendly and professional. I went in for a bone graft surgery and was explained by Dr. Fagan every step of the process. He made my visit quick and painless. Would of been 5 stars but had a few miscommunication with some of the staff regarding my first appt for surgery. I was originally scheduled for a 10:30am because of my cummute, but it was changed to an earlier time without my knowledge or consent. Luckily, I still had my appt card as proof that clearly says 10:30am. I only found out about the time change when I had called in the day before to ask about the instructions on my medication. On the day of surgery, I was checked in and asked for my payment and was given a transaction receipt, I was told by the lady that took my payment that they would give me an itemized receipt at the end of surgery to which I did not get anything. I don't mind, I never asked for one, but if I am told that I will get one, of course I would be expecting it. After my surgery and getting home, I did get a phone call to follow up on how I was doing, which was really nice of them. She explained to me how to care for my after surgery. I was suppose to come back in for a 1 week follow up, however, with how far I live, they said they will do a phone follow up. She also mentioned that I would've gotten a little after care kit from my next follow up in one week. Knowing that, I wasn't coming in, I would've thought that they would give me one after I was done with my surgery. read more

Dr. Fagan gave me a gingivectomy that completely changed my smile. I've always had small teeth, and a moderately gummy smile that made me very self conscious whenever I laughed. When I came in for a consultation, I was ecstatic when Dr. Fagan told me I had extra teeth under my gums, and it would be very simple to remove the gum. When he said simple, he was not kidding. The surgery itself took at most fifteen minutes; you could see the change immediately, AND he was able to expose even more teeth than he had anticipated. I didn't feel a gosh-darn thing the entire time. My teeth are at least 50% bigger now. Aesthetically, they are 100% better. Last, but not least, the healing process was none at all. I took one tylenol the first day. Aside from having to refrain from biting with my front teeth for a week, I could eat and drink normally. Furthermore, because my gums were higher now, no one could tell I had surgery. To everyone else, I looked fairly normal. After one week, I was completely healed. I am SO happy with my surgery. I would have done it years ago had I known it was this easy. I super-duper recommend Dr. Fagan! read more

I'm shocked that I haven't left a review for Dr Fagan before this. He extracted a cracked root/tooth and gave me an implant on short notice back in 2013. He was not only able to do that on short notice, but he was also able to troubleshoot the tricky placement of the implant (it almost wouldn't fit given the angle of my jaw). Additionally, while he was there, he casually removed an unrelated bone spur that had just started causing problems. All these years later and all is well. Dr Fagan is so knowledgeable and experienced, he's trained young doctors how to do these procedures in addition to having private patients. His naturally calm and caring demeanor along with his medical know-how makes him a perfect doctor to me. He's like the "Capt. Sully" of the endodontist world! Hec, I'm trying to talk my sister in N. I had gum graphs done a few weeks ago by Dr. Fagan. I was told by a number of people that gum graphs are extremely painful and the recovery process is uncomfortable. This was so NOT the case for me. The surgery was pain free! I only had a little bit of pain when the numbness began to wear off later in the day so I took some pain killers, but I was pain free by the next morning! I did not have to take any more pain pills. Dr. Fagan was really nice and very knowledgable. His staff was also very friendly. I am so glad that he was my doctor!!!! For the past few years 3 of my teeth have been basically falling apart in my mouth. I attempted years ago to extract a tooth on my own which was very foolish and it snapped off. Fast forward to late 2019 and my new dentist recommended me to Dr. Fagan for the extractions and implants. Before researching implants I had an idea of what they were and how much they cost. Dr. Fagan's office, in my opinion, is the higher end on quality and pricing when it comes to implants. However, medical procedures I don't skimp on, just like my vehicles. I feel safer when paying for higher quality products and work and Dr. Fagan's office delivers on quality! I had to have 3 implants so the sticker shock was real, but after having the work done I am so happy! Dr. Fagan and his wonderful staff treat you like a family member and a human being with feelings. They explain every step to you along the way and make you feel super comfortable whenever you have a visit. The procedure for three implants was honestly stressful for me personally but there was literally no pain for the procedure just afterwards when I got home it was sore for about a week. I had the chance to get other quotes and stuff for implants from someone else but my dentist said Dr. Fagan's implants are the only type that the lab that makes the crowns can use without any issues. Basically he uses high end parts for the teeth and the labs can easily build your teeth on those. Knowing that and knowing Dr. Fagan has a great reputation I decided to not even shop around for a better price. When it comes to your teeth give yourself the best options when you need work done and come see Dr. Fagan and his staff. They will treat you with dignity and respect and everything will go wonderfully! * I also would like to mention that they have a plan to take care of your teeth right after the surgery and I stuck to that perfectly and now the implants have zero problems. Dr Fagan is the best!! My tooth implant surgery went really well, I'm beyond happy with how smooth was the surgery. Dr Fagan is great but his office staff isn't. Initially they said insurance would cover everything. However, after the procedure, they said the insurance wouldn't so I paid by credit card (big mistake!). After follow up with the insurance company who said they would pay, it's been months and I keep hearing that they will credit my card but still nothing. Unless I bug them, nothing happens and when I do, it's always "was just about to do that". Recommendation: use Dr Fagan (he's great as I said) but don't pay anything unless they take you to court! read more

I walked around for 4 months as a result of an infection from him doing an implant where there was clearly an infection already. He conveniently lost the CT Scan that showed this was the case. Then he never recommended I get a second opinion. I ended up spending $10,000 in the end and lost 2 more teeth - both implants - half the bone in my jaw. I was referred to Dr. Fagan by my dentist Dr. Hyde for a molar removal and implant. At the consulting visit we took care of all of the paperwork, the examination, had a thorough discussion of the procedure with plenty of time to ask any questions, and I was given an explanation of the costs of the procedure and given a written sheet with the costs and the amount I would need to pay. I was given options for sedation if I wanted it, though I chose to go with just having the local anesthetic. I was also given a sheet explaining the things I needed to do for after surgery care which I found very helpful. Dr. Fagan was very careful to make sure I was completely numb before starting the procedure. Once I was ready, removal of the tooth (which had a crown on it) and installation of the implant only took half an hour. He and his assistant were both exceptional at explaining everything that was being done throughout the procedure and there was no pain during the procedure. They even provided dark glasses so the light wouldn't bother my eyes. Again, after the procedure they gave me plenty of opportunities to ask questions. They had called in the prescriptions I needed a week before the surgery and I had picked them up so I didn't have anything to fuss with on the way home. Pain from the surgery only lasted through the next day and the pain pills worked well. I am completely satisfied and recommend him without reservation. read more

Dr. Fagan treated me when i had very bad infection under a root canal on a front tooth. I think he is very proper and professional but although he has a 3D scanner and he did check, he never realized i didn't have enough bone to put implant in. He extracted the tooth, cleaned the infection did a bone graft, left me to heal and then placed implant in. The implant was rejected. He waiting few months and without looking at the bone attempted another implant. Which again was rejected to his surprise. At this point I didn't exactly get clear answers from him. It took me nearly 2 months of phone calls, emails and messages to get him to call me back. He said he'd do another attempt at no cost to me but he had no explanation for the double implant failure. And he never explained if he saw anything on the 3D image that he did take (to his credit i have to say he didn't charge me for this scan). Since I am not willing to be a guinea pig for another implant procedure and am not getting any answer from him I went to get a second opinion and got another 3D scan which shows I don't have enough bone there. The other dentist is thinking to put the shortest possible implant in there. Which I am still not fully convinced is the correct way. But at least I have a possible explanation for the previous failures. I am also doing ozone injections hoping it will strengthen the bone. While things where going well the office was really fine but once the second implant failed this stopped working for me. read more

I went to Dr Fagan for an extraction and implant. I am lucky enough to have dual insurance and was told how much my out of pocket would be which they requested to be paid prior to the work. It was not inexpensive but I was willing to pay for it and did. After the work was completed I began receiving bills for an additional $1300. I was surprised and contacted Dr Fagan's office. I was told that the insurance did not cover as much as they had originally anticipated and I owed this additional cost. Not to mention, the finance women was extremely unfriendly and impatient when i asked her to go over payment options for a grafting surgery. Overall, not a great first impression. Dr. Mark Fagan is a real pro! I had a gum tissue graft done last week and I didn't feel a thing! I was given 6 shots to make sure I was numb; I didn't even feel any of the shots. He is so efficient that the entire surgery was no more than 30 minutes; max! I was so afraid before the surgery but now that I know that it's totally pain free, I will be going back to him to have my lower teeth worked on. Without these gum grafts, there's a chance that my teeth can fall out & I don't want that. I suffered a cracked root in a upper front tooth. (You cannot see the root, because it is above the gum line). I was suffering bone loss to the area, as shown on x-ray. Dr. Fagan performed an oral examination on me and within minutes was able to describe to me exactly what my problem was. With an explorer, he showed me I had a vertical crack in the root above the gum line. I live out of the area and was in Dr. Fagan's office working as a Court Reporter reporting deposition testimony. We finished early. I advised the Doctor of my problem and he examined me in the few minutes he had before his next patient. No charge -- a professional courtesey, I suppose. Later I went to another periodontist in my local area on a referral from my general dentist. I also saw an oral surgeon. I was frusterated when I advised that I had been shown that I had a vertical crack in my root, and neither of these other specialists could find it, just by physical examination at the time. Later, though, each of them confirmed this to be so. My conclusion: It is my opinion from this experience that Dr. Mark Fagan stands out as excellant. He found in a matter of minutes what it took others much more time and research to find. I am thinking to make the drive to his office, the next time I need periodontal work. read more

I travel from San Francisco to San Jose to be treated by Dr. Fagan. He is great! He just took my tooth #9 out. The tooth had the root cracked and noone here or in Europe (Germany), where I went looking for a solution, could save it. I dreaded giving up my tooth, and dr. Fagan let me take all the time I wanted to decide what to do. When I was ready he was great about making me comfortable with the procedure. Best than anything, it took him a minute to get the bugger out and I felt no pain whatsoever. Then the implant went in in the next few minutes! This is the second implant that he does for me. The first one was a few years ago, and is holding great. His staff is also great, including the "finance woman" that someone was complaining about. She is cool and always explained to me step by step what money I had to pay and what for. Keith R. I had a gum graph done just recently over a month ago by Dr. Fagan. I was recommended to him by my regular Dentist the late Dr. Stephen Keller. New Dentist Dr. Steve S. Lim. D.M.D. is my new regular Dentist. The gum graph surgery went very well and it was not painful as I was numbed up real good that all I felt some hours later after the numbness began to wear off was mostly discomfort and some minor pain. I was given a prescription to take three times a day for seven days starting the day of the gum graph surgery and I had two follow-up visits; one a week later and one more just the other day and the area of my upper left in my mouth healed well. He said that there is just a little left of the roof of my upper left in my mouth that is still not quite there yet but, it should be all back to normal within a month. I was pain free within a day after the surgery and now I feel very good. He was very straight forward in explaining the gum graph surgery procedure to me and what I had to do during the healing process. Dr. Fagan was very knowledgable. His staff was also very helpful in making me feel comfortable. I'm glad I was recommended to Dr. Fagan by my regular Dentist and for anyone needing gum graphs, I would highly recommend Dr. Fagan.
