When Christine was asked, which is part of our contract about the video of the sewer inspection she stated that I didn't ask for it. When I got in contact with the sewer company, I was informed that they offered her the video and she declined it on our behalf. That there was also an estimate written up on two issues that they found that were not presented to us in our 14 day inspection window. Christine says she sent it to my realtor but she sent it to an incorrect email address. However, the contract was not between Young home inspections and my realtor so all information should've been presented to us. Christine immediately lawyered up so when we had to have the four-point inspection re-done we had to pay for somebody else to do it to find out that Dan had missed additional electrical/fire issues. We have found that our air conditioner was not working at all, it was not connected to the thermostat, there were no duct work going to the vents to the back two rooms plus the rest of the duct work was not in working order, the A coil and vents are filled with dog hair so thick that there was no way that any air could have gotten through the air conditioner. When I opened the cabinets, I noticed that the microwave was not connected to the outside vent, that wasn't reported either. Dan stated that the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were in good working order. I am not sure how that could be because when our appraiser came through, it was noted that there were zero smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors in the home, and we had to pay for the appraiser to go back out and inspect That these had actually been installed. before our loan could be finalized. The flooring in the house is going to be replaced because the floors were poorly installed and were actually not attached and had not moisture barrier under them.. The tile in the kitchen backsplash has zero grout and again none of this was on the inspection report. Extermination company that they hired noted that there was no termite damage. However, the installation for the HVAC system brought to my husband's attention that there is in fact termite damage in the attic. We also checked our shower where Dan marked one small section was missing grout when there were several places and even broken tile which caused mold in all of the drywall . Christine is a completely unprofessional and hides behind an attorney named David Levy whom she had send us a cease a desist letter before completing our inspections therefore not fulfilling her end of the contract. I have spoken with several other people who have left reviews on other social media site and these people are in major debt because of the things that Dan has missed. Also Young Home inspections notes on their contract and website that that they go above and beyond NACHI standards which is a false statement as only 1 of their inspectors is NACHI certified, and it is not Dan. Please beware, this is the biggest purchase you will ever make, this company took away our power to negotiate with the seller or our option to walk away.

He pointed out a lot of things that could easily be overlooked. The only downside was that he spent quite a bit of time commenting on the design of the unit, which didn't always feel relevant to the inspection itself or didn't quite make sense in context. Waypoint advertised and separately charged $200 for a "Pool Inspection & Leak Assessment" as part…read moreof our home inspection package. Less than 24 hours before the inspection, and only after the cancellation window was basically gone, we were told through our buyer's agent that their leak-detection equipment was broken and they could not perform that part of the inspection. That left us scrambling late Friday afternoon to find a qualified company willing to come out Saturday morning. We ended up paying $430 out of pocket for an independent leak-detection company because we were not willing to make a major home-buying decision without knowing the condition of the pool. Fortunately, the independent company found three separate leaks: the pool-light conduit, a return near the shallow-end steps, and the skimmer lip edge. Those are significant findings that could cost thousands of dollars to repair. Had we relied only on Waypoint's inspection process, we would have been flying blind. At the property, the assigned inspector told me a refund should not be a problem, but then showed me what appeared to be only a $98 charge, even though Waypoint's written quote clearly listed the pool inspection and leak assessment at $200. Our agent had also relayed that Andrea was offering a $200 refund. None of that addresses the $430 we were forced to spend because Waypoint failed to provide the advertised service with meaningful notice. This experience is exactly why consumers describe large inspection companies as inspection mills. Waypoint promotes itself as providing "Every Service, Every Detail, Every Time," but in our case an important advertised service was dropped at the last minute, and an outside specialist had to uncover serious defects Waypoint did not inspect. I have formally requested reimbursement and will be contacting the Missouri Attorney General's Office regarding what I believe were bait-and-switch-like business practices. A refund for a service that was never performed is not compensation for the additional expense and risk Waypoint created.

Jared Hyers is a scam! I don't know about others but Jared couldn't even tell me where my AC filter…read morewas located. He said it was on the roof and after I open that hatch he mention there was nothing there, just an outlet. I remember he closing a door in my face to "privately" talk with my realtor without me hearing when he was doing the inspection, which was when I started to double think my choice of inspection company and inspector. Not to mention Mold, apparently he tested my house for mold and it took less than 2 days to get a report that nobody could understand with a comment from him: "Everything is fine, no mold in that house". Overall I paid over $1000 for the worst inspection ever, on a house almost 2000 sq ft he took less than 2 hours to do everything, I think the overall result was subpar and it is a shame I can't get my money back or something, do not choose Jared Hyers, he will scam you! UPDATE: We are only three weeks into the new house and today we had our AC biweekly maintenance and in the picture below you can see all the bacteria there is in my HVAC. Remember, we paid over $1000 including Mold Inspection and this Jared Hyers wasn't able to find all this bacteria that would require only to take off 4 screws in the HVAC! Unbelievable!!!
