My family has been insured through Mark Creevey's State Farm office for 20 years. I have always felt that everyone in his office is looking out for us. They are all professional, plus easy to work with and friendly. Last year I needed an insurance quote for a non-profit I am involved with, and even though he was not able to sell me that kind of policy, Mark helped by talking me through what to look for in this coverage. Mark's office has twice suggested that it might be time to do a "re-rate" to see if we can save money on premiums. Both times, our rates went down significantly. State Farm will tell you they did everything to resolve the following. They did nothing to acknowledge, verify, or resolve. I was a State Farm client for 44 years. My parents were clients for over 50. A little over one year ago I was diagnosed, and fell ill with stage 3 lymphoma and continue treatment, keeping the disease managed, at best. I'm sure you've heard many stories of cancer, and understand economic hardship isn't uncommon. I was forced out of work, and had to move. By simple oversight I neglected making each and every change of address and contact information. I was hospitalized, followed with chemo, job loss, and major re-location. Not sobbing, just how it goes. When I recently discovered my car insurance was months overdue, I called Creevy's office. I was told it was dropped in July. Though I visited their office this past summer, nothing was mentioned. Nothing. Conveniently, no record of my visit. I was told yesterday, my meager coverage was dropped in July, and the premium would be 3X the prior cost to re-instate. I asked for some consideration with my specific circumstance, and they said, no. I always hoped conspiracy theories and opinions about insurance companies were exaggerated. After this, I believe they are bottom feeding jerks of the lowest life form. I was loyal to State Farm those many years because it was considered the right thing to do. Well, I guess not. They made no effort whatsoever, nor afforded any measure of consideration. Their agents were rude, cold, calculated, and defensive on the phone. They implied my illness was a fabricated story to suit personal needs. One year ago, when a State Farm adjuster worked one of few claims in my 44 year history, they knew of my illness quite well. I provided specific contacts of my cancer care team as well, for verification. State Farm is the bottom of the corporate food chain. They'd steal from their sick mama if given a chance. It's my sincere hope cancer of any kind never visits anyone's doorstep. However, if it does, they will perhaps remember those who once needed some consideration in the same shoes. To be sure, Creevy is the bottom of a large corporate food chain -- a blip on State Farm's radar screen. He and his staff are told what, when, where, and how far to jump. They, unfortunately, are just the messenger for a corrupt, heartless monster. If I were just another bloke with perhaps a year on the books, I'd disregard the issue. Oh was I naive thinking the legacy of two generations' of customer base would count for anything. Always paid premiums on time, too. Very few claims over those collective 94 years', so State Farm made good coin on our family. Excellent driving records. Fool me once, chump. I will take every opportunity to tell others to run as fast as they can from State Farm, unless they prefer cold, calculated business relationships with insurers. read more

We've been with Mark Creevey for over twenty years. The staff have always been helpful and responsive. Recently they let us know there was a process we could go through so that our premiums could be reviewed through a rerate program. It resulted in a savings of almost $500 per year. This is in response to Felipe, being a former employee of Mark's (the other 2 reviews mention me here) I know that Mark holds his employees to a high standard and knowing the man for a couple of years while working for him, if there was anything he could do for you or anyone else, he would have. Also knowing the system and how State Farm and any other insurance company for that matter, works, any time you have a lapse in coverage and the premium doesn't get paid, yes it is going to cost a whole lot more to get coverage again. A lot of that is because you CAN lose some of your State Farm discounts when your coverage lapses. Obviously not knowing the situation it's hard to speak on his exact circumstances. One thing I can say is that as long as your bill does get paid on time you wouldn't have been canceled. While we are human and sympathize with your situation, it is a business and there is little businesses can do in those instances. But what could be done I am confident Mark and the staff did, it might not have turned out how you wanted it to however. read more
