I had an epidural a couple of weeks ago, and had several unusual symptoms I had never experienced. I put THREE calls into his office regarding 3 unusual symptoms and got one call back handling only one of the symptoms. I called again at night so the medical assistant would call me first thing in the morning, saying I was still concerned about my symtpoms and wanting to see the doctor and NEVER got a call back! The medical assistant is the conduit between the patient and the doctor and his medical assistants is unprofessional and doesn't seem to care for Dr. Guinto's patients. I'm frustrated and disappointed.

They rescheduled me for a week after the priorly scheduled appointment. Then they called and left me a voicemail canceling that appointment. I called the office back and they said the next appointment was months out and they'd have 'Zoe' call me. Well I never got rescheduled and never got ahold of anyone. Still no follow up appointment months later. Honestly this place is the WORST office I've ever been to. I give up. You can BET they are calling me to pay my bill though, so that's lovely. Bottom line is they push hundreds of people in and out of this place and money is all they care about. ----------------------------------------------- I saw Dr. Guinto who seemed genuine and listened to my concerns. At my first visit I had to arrive an hour early where I then waited almost two hours to be called back into the room. I then got my MRI. MRI department was wonderful. No complaints there. I had some issues trying to determine why this doctor suddenly said out of network when a week earlier it said he was in network (my insurance ended up solving the issue). The office staff was of ZERO help. They have been so rude when I have called in. Now I'm trying to schedule a follow up appointment, and they are over a month and a half out AND do not care about working around your schedule. As much as I appreciated Dr. Guinto, I'm going to try to find another doctor and go here as an absolute last resort. I have a M-F job and cannot spend 3-4 hours total waiting to be seen by a doctor. It's very difficult to even get the time off for a visit as Is.

Seems like if you are scheduled with an APP, the office should advise you in advance that you will not be seeing a doctor but rather a Nurse Practitioner. Red flag #1. Saw the NP with MRI results in hand and on a CD. NP ordered a back x-ray. Seriously?? An MRI was already performed, do you think a simple x-ray will tell you more than that? The office never called me to schedule the back x-ray nor the physical therapy that was ordered. As in NEVER called me. Red flag #2. So aside from this, the office tried to charge my insurance for the MRI that was already completed. Also, they did not even bill my insurance for over 90 days from my date of service. Once the insurance paid, I remitted my co-pay amount. Then, about 6 weeks after I paid my co-pay, they sent my account to collections. Red flag #3! It's literally unbelievable how awful this place is. I cannot imagine the poor patients besides me who have had similar experiences. For 2 weeks I called and not getting answer of when will he do his part so the insurance can approve my mom's physical therapy. At first, office was passing the buck to primary MD. But insurance clarified that it is orthopedic surgeon that would have to do it. We did a walk in to his office as suggested by his staff because they couldn't give me answer. He ignored us and couldn't talk to him even just for 5 mins in between patients and we were even willing to wait until his last patient. He wants us to make an appointment the following week. For what? To tell him to do his job!!! So he can charge insurance again for our visit that we don't need.

This is not the first time I had to be the healthcare advocate for our family. Why is it so hard to get the care you and your loved ones need? I took a leap of faith one night at 10:00pm as I lay in bed in shock that my Mom had been laying in a hospital bed waiting for a surgeon that would take her case and a bed at a hospital that would take her at all, because they had no beds. Here is our story... You know that feeling you get when you call a loved one that lives alone, and you know they have to be home, but they don't answer the phone. That is when that feeling starts. And you wait a few minutes to see if they call you back, but they don't. So you call again.... and again... and again, but still no answer. That's the feeling! The one you hope you never get! Well, I/we got it on Thursday, 5/4/23. Thank goodness our son called to ask where grandma was. He then went over to see if she was OK, showing up just a couple minutes before us, and he found her on the floor with a broken leg! She had been there for 3 hours! I can not even imagine if she had laid there all night. Thank goodness we got to her and got her to the hospital so she could have the surgery that she desperately needed to repair her leg and relieve her pain. I mean... That is how it should go. Right? NOPE!!! Three days later and she is still laying in the same Hospital bed in pain, even with all the pain medication, waiting for a surgeon to accept her case and an available bed for her. WHY YOU ASK? SaInt Agnes Surgeons determined that her case was too complex, so they sent her clinical Records over to CMC Fresno to see if they could take her. They said NO because they are at capacity. So, Saint Agnes sent her clinicals to UCSF to see if they could take her. They said NO and referred her to CMC Fresno, who again said NO. So, Saint Agnes sent Mom's clinicals to Cedar Sinai in L.A. to see if they could take her case. This is not how things should go! Saturday 5/6/23 at 10:00pm this whole situation got the best of me so I figured I would do some research and look for an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon from CMC that may have an e-mail address online that I could send a message to. I did find one that has 20+ years experience, so I sent him a message about mom in the hopes that he would take her case and find a bed for her at CMC. He replied within 2 hours! We went back and forth several times with questions he had. Come to find out he has privileges at both CMC and SAMC. By 10:00am Sunday 5/7/23 this surgeon had called the doctor treating mom and had reviewed her X-Rays. He said he can do the surgery and he can do it at Saint Agnes! He said he would go see mom that night and hoped to get an operating room for monday morning to do the surgery. Surgery was scheduled for 10:45am Monday morning then was changed at the last minute to Tuesday morning 5/9/23 at 7:30am. Ultimately, Mom had her leg repaired on 5/9/23. The surgeon was great! And she was able to stay at Saint Agnes! Mom is doing great! She has been staying at a Skilled Nursing Facility to get up and walking strong again and will be discharged today. She laid in bed waiting too damn long for that surgery, which did not help with her overall strength, but she will get there. Also, she has to get past that feeling like she is going to fall again, which is tough. She is not happy with being knocked down a few pegs, especially after she had healed so well after her back surgery. I still can not understand why nobody at Saint Agnes reached out to local Orthopedic Trauma Surgeons to see if anyone was available to perform her surgery. She laid in that bed 5 nights waiting for surgery. But of course day 2 after surgery they want her shipped out before she can even stand up on her leg. There is something seriously wrong with our Healthcare system and medical professionals. Not ALL medical professionals, of course, but DAMN! IT SHOULDN'T BE SO HARD TO FIND THE GOOD ONES! So, from the bottom of my heart and every ounce of my Soul, I thank you, Dr. Baysal!

He dismissed my medical issue and went about asking questions about my mental health for most of the appointment, something I don't have a problem with (again confirmed by other doctors). He tried very hard to ferret out some psychological issue for my health problems. When that failed he continued to dismiss my condition and decided I just needed to take yoga. He obviously didn't believe in my medical condition or try to understand it. For someone having to deal with a medical condition that affects my life, this is extremely painful and degrading. He did spend a decent amount of time with me, but most of that time was devoted to asking questions that weren't relevant. For the few questions that were relevant he usually cut me off when I was answering if what I was saying didn't fit into what he thought or believed. He, then, summarized everything on his tape recorder, which was a complete waste of time since he obviously disbelieved everything I said and hardly offered any advice. The advice he did give was completely inane and not something one would ever follow up on. If you are looking for a thoughtful, compassionate doctor who seeks to listen and understand and really help his patients, do not go to him!

About a week after the referral was sent, I called the office to check on it. At that time, they told me they had not received it. When I called back later, they confirmed that it had been received, but I was told it would be three to four weeks before anything could be scheduled. Since then, I have called at least a dozen times and left multiple messages, including on different extensions, hoping someone would call me back. The staff member handling referrals has shown no professionalism, compassion, or care for my situation. Not once did I receive a call back, despite repeated attempts and expressing how important this was to me. I completely understand that Dr. Bhatia is very busy. If the office had simply told me he would not be able to see me, I would have accepted that and moved on to another referral. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of communication and compassion. A simple phone call could have saved me weeks of waiting and allowed me to seek care elsewhere sooner. I have now had to get a new referral and schedule with another doctor, but my appointment is four months out. This whole experience has been extremely upsetting. Patients deserve basic professionalism and communication. Please do better, Dr. Bhatia.

They gave me an appointment date for her and I accepted. The office sent an eight page form for us to complete and called three days prior to confirm the appointment. I called the morning of the appointment to alert them that my wheel chair bound mother was on her way by transport bus and that I am as well by car. When I met my mom at the office, we were told that they do not accept her insurance that is on file. Why would they accept the referral, make the appointment, send the paperwork and confirm the appointment if they were not contracted by her (very well known) insurance company?? Why wait until the time of the appointment to tell us this? It was beyond inconvenient for us, especially my mother! Did not even receive an apology.

I was seen right away by someone in Dr Medhi's office. She ordered a MRI of my brain and EEGs. The MRI took place at a different location and the two EEGs were a week apart at the office there. Following the second EEG, I was given the results of everything done to date. At this time, I am waiting for a more in depth EEG to be set up, and have not yet actually met the doctor, but we're working on getting things all figured out.
