But then she added that the surgical center would charge an additional $1300 and that anesthesia would be $1250 for the first hour and $600 per hour after. I sent pictures, and I met with the doctor via phone. It all seemed easy, nothing out of the ordinary. Then I received a call from his office manager. The price was to be $8200. The old " Bait and switch" The price should have been between $5549 (including one hour of anesthesia) and $6149 (including the additional anesthesia). I would have happily paid that, but $8,200. He is a talented plastic surgeon who did an outstanding job. He took a round hole and turned it into a longer scar which he moved closer to my jaw line so that it would appear more natural. It has healed very well and people who have seen the before and after can't believe it. He even managed to save my beard by ensuring the scar didn't interfere too much with the natural hair growth!
