They were really stuck and he had to be so patient and precise not to break a root, all while keeping my son comfortable! He succeeded! I could not be more thankful for him and his staff in making my son so comfortable! Although we hope this never happens again, he was the best guy to do it! I would not have known I was an impromptu appointment if I didn't have a medical background. I know the work they put in trying to see me, which is to be commended. They made time for me to be seen and treated promptly while going at my speed for care. My dentist was beyond capable, credible and kind during my appointment. He managed to save my tooth! He also allowed his hygienist to shine, a character quality not often found. The hygienist was professional, relatable and so thoughtful (I have a strong fear of dental work). Her work is in my mouth, and that speaks volumes!

The office is shabby with ripped exam seats, dirty and old equipment, and inexperienced office staff. This practice does not appear to have a dental hygenist as the doctor performed the cleaning himself. His assistant was apparently untrained as the doctor needed to give her the simplest instructions during my exam and cleaning. What was the most concerning however was a substance the Dentist used on my teeth. I have extremely sensitive teeth and hygienists have used Aqua Seal to take the edge off the scraping. This dentist used a product I was unfamiliar with and I had a bad reaction to it. The product burned the inside of my lips. During the cleaning the suction tube was really large and had a sharp edge to it so when placed in my mouth it was painful. At the end of the cleaning the dentist did not floss my teeth. He also said using a sonic toothbrush was not a good idea?!? Both of my last dentists recommended one to help keep my gums clean. This dentist did find a filling that was failing and one tooth that needed a filling because of gum recession. However, based on my negative experience I do not recommend this practice.

This was not a simple procedure. The crown and abutment were extremely difficult to remove, and there was uncertainty about what would be found underneath. Dr. Kakos was willing to take on a challenge that many others would not, working carefully and persistently to help preserve my existing implant rather than moving straight to removal. His kindness, confidence, and willingness to help made an incredibly stressful situation much easier to handle. Thanks to his expertise and determination, the implant was saved and I can move forward with the next stage of treatment. I am truly grateful that he was willing to step in when I needed someone with the skill and experience to tackle such an unusual case. Thank you, Dr. Kakos!

Before my procedure, I was not informed of the expected cost. I had to ask for the pricing myself, and I was told they wanted payment even though the office had not yet confirmed all the details of my insurance coverage. I believe patients should receive a clear explanation of anticipated costs and insurance benefits before being asked to pay whenever possible. When I requested a better explanation of my bill, instead of taking the time to review it with me, I was told that if I did not pay, my account could be sent to collections. This was mentioned while I was simply trying to understand the charges, not refusing to pay. I found this approach intimidating and not reflective of good customer service. In particular, my interaction with Kelly at the front desk was disappointing. I found her communication to be rude and lacking professionalism. I believe the front desk staff would benefit from additional training in customer service, communication, and handling billing concerns with empathy and respect. Because of this experience, I have lost confidence in the administrative practices of this office and would not choose to return. I hope the practice improves its communication regarding treatment costs, insurance verification, and customer service so that future patients have a better experience. In addition to my own experience, it appears that other patients have reported similar concerns, including long wait times, appointments running behind schedule, difficulty scheduling or rescheduling visits, and frustration with billing, insurance estimates, and unexpected charges. Communication regarding treatment plans, insurance coverage, and out-of-pocket costs also seems to be an ongoing concern, as patients are not always provided with clear explanations before receiving treatment or being asked to make payments. Based on this experience, my family and I have decided not to return to this practice. Dr. Sanghavi and all her staff are incredibly friendly, easygoing and (this helps my anxiety a lot) non-judgmental. (When you feel anxious about your dental state, it is wonderful to have a team who wants to help you fix problems and improve, rather than judging you for how your teeth got that way.) Also, the whole team is wonderful with children - I brought my three-year-old son here recently, and he had a great first dental experience. The office is wonderfully clean, state-of-the-art, and comfortable. Their sterilization setup is excellent and they use high-quality, well-maintained instrumentation. (Full disclosure: I formerly worked for a dental instrument manufacturer and have experience in infection and quality control, so I pay extremely close attention to these topics.) The quality of treatment is wonderful - the procedures are painless and efficient. Such a bad experience with the receptionist making an appointment. This review has nothing to do…read morewith the dentist herself but in my opinion, it shows the quality of the clinic, overall. I first called last week to make an appointment. The first thing I asked the receptionist is whether or not they accept my insurance. She stated they do accept my insurance so I go about scheduling my appointment. Next, I get a call a few hours later telling me she can't confirm my member ID and insisted on moving my appointment another day. Not once have I had an issue with any clinic in the past have an issue with my member ID. I firmly requested to keep my appointment since I am confident my member ID is valid. On the morning of my appointment, She did not call me to confirm everything is fine so instead I call and she was able to confirm with the insurance company it is good to go. I than drive 40 minutes to mount prospect, and 2 hours before my appointment, I get a call from her they don't Suddenly accept my insurance. I don't understand how hard it is to for her to do her due diligence and make sure the patients insurance is valid before wasting their time and money. I find it awkward to keep calling the clinic to make sure everything is fine with the member ID. Keep in mind, I don't ever leave reviews even if there were a few mistakes, but this was just pathetic. Worst of all, I did not receive an apology so here I am leaving this review. Do a better job!
