I visited this shop on a weekend to see what all the fuss was about. My wife recommended Mark Piscitelli's as she's s very familiar with the Pasadena area and their great reputation. I wanted to get a nice tweed sport coat since Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's had just a few examples in limited colors and patterns. Well, I wasn't disappointed...there were lots of colors and patterns...and materials (wool, cashmere and camel). But more importantly I got very attentive and polite service. I gotta say, it was like being transported to another time. I never felt any pressure or ulterior motive...only the need to help me find what I wanted. ...But somehow I ended up with a whole suit instead of a sport coat! They do have a nicely curated collection of suits here and I've always wanted a double breasted suit. I own just 6 suits but not one is double breasted. They had a nice example in a blue window pane pattern that was a good fit so I bought it. I'm returning on my lunch break on Monday to have their tailor make the final adjustments. Mark Piscitelli is a gem...go see for yourself. Prices are relatively reasonable for the excellent quality they offer. It really is good stuff. I'm not a dandy but I do often complain about not having access to certain things at Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's that were available only a few years. If I want a nice pair of wool-lined leather dress gloves...which no one seems to carry anymore....I don't want to run across town to mega malls or endlessly search online. If I want a distinctive tie or a custom tailored shirt or some nice pants to match my sport coats...I now have the perfect place to start! read more

This place is awesome. High quality service. I rarely leave reviews but I wanted to leave a post about my experience. Shoutout to Jason, the sales associate who helped me, because he nailed it on the first try. I told him I wanted an earth tone colored suit that could double as formal and casual, and could help me start building my collection of formalwear, which I've recently become interested in. He immediately chose this beautiful grey suit with hunter green undertones, and I tried it on and it was perfect! I tried on a few other styles to be sure, but ended up going with his first guess for me, which I thought was pretty amazing. I also left with a great dress shirt and tie, a complete outfit. They had their onsite tailor measure me on the spot and get alterations started with a week of turnaround time. I don't know a ton about suits but I'm particular about clothing and I think about it a lot. I tried shopping at a few mall department stores for a suit and it was a total bust and very discouraging. Not only was the selection not great, it's obvious even as someone who hasn't owned a lot of suits that a lot of new suits are mediocre quality even at a high price point. The fabric doesn't feel luxurious, and it just feels like sweatshop mass produced clothing. I'm glad I found this place on Yelp and checked it out on a whim because it was the exact opposite of my mall experiences. They carried brands with high quality Italian fabric and were proud to show me brands that used union labor and were manufactured in the United States and Canada. They had my jacket size in stock and took a lot of care in measuring me -- since they weren't too busy at the time I had a few people take a look and give their opinions on my fit, which I really appreciated. The price point is higher than Jos. A. Bank and other fast fashion formalwear but considering the level of curation in the store, I can't believe what I got for my money and I really don't think it was that expensive for the quality. read more

I recently lost weight and needed a sport coat and slacks in which to attend a wedding. My wife spotted Mark PiscitellI Fashions and we went in. Michael and Donna made us feel like we were old friends. I am bit of a fabric aficionado and I could tell the Blue Plaid Jacket Michael suggested was of fine quality. What I didn't know was that it was practically bullet proof. It's been through business meetings, two suitcases, seated at the wedding and the dinner afterwards and it still doesn't have a wrinkle in it. More importantly, it just looks great and fits so well. Man, I wish I found this place years ago. If you are looking for high quality business casual or business formal attire, this is the place to go. In need of a sport coat I searched the usual places such as Nordstrom etc and came up empty both as a result of the stores having boring options and salespeople who couldn't care less. I had driven by Mark's shop for years and it came to mind, so I thought I'd give it a try. This shop is filled with unique (in a good way; not a fashion-forward, unwearable kind of way) items from Italy that are very high quality and very reasonably priced. Mark suggested a couple of unique sport coats that I ended up purchasing. The entire experience was very low pressure and I felt like I could really take my time. The Customer Service over the phone was fairly low quality. When asking for the price over the phone I was met with a rude recommendation to come in person. As I am in a pinch and need to find a place with the best price, this was a bit frustrating. One thing I found interesting is that they mentioned it's personal preference to not share the price. So my experience with Michael (and the woman whose name I have already forgotten)couldn't have gone any better. I had two things in my favor: being a reasonably off the rack shape and having a seamstress wife. She knows her fabrics and how to make clothes. She liked what she saw and what I looked like at the end. The staff was attentive, engaging and did very little upselling to us. We left with a very good quality suit within the budget. Very kind staff. They helped pick out a suit for my wedding. They mainly had two piece suits, but they contacted the maker and got a vest made out of the same material. I also got a shirt made through them, and when that and the alterations to fit the suit were taking longer than expected, they handled having an alternate tailor do the job and didn't charge extra for the expedited work. As I strolled around town in the heat today I decided to go into Mark Piscitelli's store, which is a men's clothing store. This was my first time in this store and, unfortunately, it will probably be my last. With the temperatures reaching close to 100 today in Pasadena, the last thing a consumer want to see is alot of sweaters for sale. Not only was the abundance of sweaters a problem, but the styles were a problem too, in my opinion, as this looks like a store that caters more to older gentlemen. Some of the items were nice and appear to be of quality, just not my taste, nor do I think it's the season for all of the winter clothes. With only two customers in the store, there was no reason for the associates to not offer assistance, however, one associate did speak. No worries, as I don't think I'll be back to this store for at least 25-30 years. read more

I was not solicited or compensated for this review. I rarely post on Yelp, but my hassle-free and great experience at Mark Piscitelli's compels me to spill ink about how great the experience was. I was looking for an entry level luxury suit. First-time buyer, and I want to look nice, but blend in and not stand out as fashion-forward. I was at SuitSupply, Ralph Lauren, Brook's brothers, J Crew and Men's Wearhouse. I stumbled into their store by surprise, but this place blew them out of the water for two reasons. (1) Price was extremely fair. I got an S150 wool suit for the same price as an S110 suit (S150 is higher end than S110 price-wise) at SuitSupply, cheaper tailoring considered. I would guess the styles of fabric/cuts are not magazine-cover-trendy, though their selection seems formidable. Very affordable for what I was getting. (2) Great service. I was there yesterday, I pick up my suit tomorrow. Not their usual workflow, but they wanted to help given my need for turnaround. Moreover, the staff are extremely knowledgable. One place I visited bragged their staff was trained extensively for 2 months, well these guys have been doing it for over 20 years. No comparison. Its not their job, its their career. They noticed things that were wrong with my fit that other stores' salespeople didn't, they talked me out of spending money on stupid alterations (against their own financial interest), and explained things to me about how to shop for shirts, ties, etc even when I told them I couldn't afford their accessories. Of course, ultimately, it was all part of a financial-gain-motivated plan, as I will buy here again! read more

I came in with a very specific need: pocket squares for my groomsmen. Not only did they have 7 matching white silk pocket squares (which they had kindly set aside for me so they were ready when I came in), they taught me 2 different ways of folding a pocket square and they helped me pick out a unique pocket square to complement my suit and tie and help me stand out a little. This store is staffed by really lovely people who know their wares well and care about their customers. The quality of the clothes is impressive. Everything appeared to be top-shelf stuff. With their help, I selected two beautiful cashmere sweaters, a Wellensteyn jacket and a plaid shirt. My sweetheart was so happy with his birthday gifts (he hasn't seen his Christmas stuff yet), but one sweater didn't quite fit so we went back. No hassles returning the item. Only problem? First time we went here was during the Wine Walk. We were introduced to the owner and all the staff. My husband tried on a few things and since we were with a large group we said we would be back. Well today we went back and bought him this gorgeous jacket we saw in the window and have been thinking about ever since.
