They sent a worker by the name Adam Gottlieb out to do repairs. He was very professional and friendly & did an Amazing job on repairs in a timely fashion. I can't say enough about the professionalism, integrity, and overall expertise of this company. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. We had a rain event during a roof replacement this past April that flooded our home. Our insurance company recommended we use Mark Scott Construction to handle the "pack-out" of all of our belongings and furniture so our home could be repaired. We had already selected a contractor for construction which I now totally regret. I only wish we had selected Mark Scott to do that work as well. They are "old school" when it comes to putting customer service first. We worked with Alex Alas, the GM of the Restoration Division. Alex came to our house and spent time explaining how everything would work, making us feel comfortable with the process. On pack-out day, Alex sent an experienced crew that carefully wrapped, inventoried, boxed, and removed all our our belongings from our home-- from our books and clothing to our paintings and piano. We literally did nothing-- we just watched as these talented men and women wrapped, disassembled, photographed, packaged and inventoried everything in our 3,200 square foot house in a matter of days. When they left, they had removed 10 rooms of furniture and packed 380 boxes of our belongings. Truly amazing to witness. After our repairs were done, Alex sent his crew back to put everything back the way it was. Their foreman, a young woman named Rosa, had an iPad on which she had taken photos of everything in the home. I had asked Alex for a favor. In the rush of packing out, there had been no time to dust our furniture. I offered to pay extra if Alex's crew could wipe down and clean all of our furniture before it came back into the house. Alex said they always clean all the furniture upon return, but in the house. But Alex had the crew set up a "cleaning area" in our driveway-- no extra charge-- and Rosa and her team meticulously cleaned every piece of furniture before it came back into the home. Finally, after moving 10 rooms and 380 boxes of belongings, one would expect some damage. We did have some minor damage to a few items. What impressed me was Alex's way of handling it. Alex has a "whatever you need " and "we will make this right" attitude. Besides deeply apologizing for the minimal damage we incurred, Alex took care of repairing and/or replacing everything without any hassle or pushback. Kudo's to MS Construction and Restoration. I wanted to write this review to let others know of our positive experience. I found other 5-star reviews when I got to the site, which confirmed that my positive experience wasn't a "one-off". Worst experience with a contractor possible. They didn't water proof the tile next to the bathtub and after the grout gave out it was obvious and we now have a hole in our ceiling below the tub because no waterproofing to stop the leak. Thanks for nothing Mark Scott. My insurance recommended them because that's how they get most of their work. I reported to them months ago and they are still reviewing it according to his office manager. Don't trust them at their word because they stand behind nothing. I also went on next door to let my neighbors in Napa know and had multiple people tell me how horrible they were and how much it cost them to do it right after Mark Scott construction just left them hanging. If you have a choice choose elsewhere because if anything does go wrong don't expect mark Scott to stand behind work. Small claims is my next step. read more

At the worst possible time financially, it was earlier this year when, the water pipes burst unexpectantly under the slab floor in our small 1954 home. Mark Scott Construction in Fairfield sent an enthusiastic Vanjo and a super fast worker-bee named Roger, led by a very efficient and knowledgeable Frank. They turned out to be an incredibly knowledgable team that was not only fast, but, and professional. One of the worst experience I've had with a contractor. Workers were rude, made messes thar weren't cleaned up. Project continously delayed. Could hear a lot of shit talking and racial slurs in languages they presume I don't understand. The last bit if contact I had was picked up by a 12 year old that tried to get under my skin. MS Construction came in after the removal of damaged kitchen cabinets and walls to put it all back together. They reached out to me for the work, which made me skeptical at first but in the end I appreciate them being proactive and ready to work. They walked me through most of the process with them and what to expect from the insurance claim side (more than my assigned claim adjuster to my chagrin). They show up when expected, pulled permits as needed and knew the process to get it all done physically, with my insurance and for the city sign-off. We ran into some unexpected issues with the foundation and they handled it quickly with no time lost on finalizing. A broken waterline under the kitchen sink affected nearly every room in the house. After remediation was complete, I found Mak Scott Construccion online. Their estimator David Bergamini arrived at our arranged time and immediately found items missed by the insurance adjuster. They negotiated with my insurance company to cover the additional items. All the paperwork was handled online and made the process quicker and helped to get the repair work started quicker. All the work was excellent with the highest quality. Working with Vanjo and Adam was great. They kept me informed of the upcoming work. If I had any issue, which were few, I could either contact Vanjo or mention it to Adam when he would come by. Damage to our home caused by a broken toilet water supply line while we were away on a trip was covered by insurance and Farmers recommended Mark Scott Construction to make all repairs to an entrance hallway, two bathrooms and three bedrooms which had been flooded. We picked the tile, vanities, carpet (Solano Carpets) and paint colors and Scott's Fairfield office handled the work -- and Scott Mosley was our fabulous Project Manager. The work has been completed and we are so happy with the results. Their floor tile workers, and quartz fabricators (for vanity tops) were all really outstanding craftsmen. One of the best builders out there. We had a fire damage in our house and eventually picked them to rebuild it after getting referrals from others and carefully evaluating all bids. It turned out to be one of our best decisions recently. They are honest and very professional, always try their best to keep customers happy even sometimes it means extra works or costs on their side. They do things very transparently and communicate well to avoid confusion and surprises. This was not your typical rebuild project given the plumbing issue happened during the 1st year of the pandemic, right after the devastating Northern CA wildfires - barely 2 months after my family and I moved in. I woke up one morning to discover that a water pipe had broken, flooding my house and virtually destroyed my downstairs. The guys from Mark Scott Construction came out and put my home back together. Van, the estimator, was very knowledgeable, had a GREAT attitude and gave great advice on dealing with this situation. Don Draper, the project manager, kept in constant contact with me to assist and advise throughout this project. All the construction guys from Jose, Tim the drywall guy, Anthony, to Mike the lead carpenter were great, VERY helpful and friendly (I know there are a few names I'm forgetting). I needed a gable vent repaired before the rain as it leaks. I called three times. When they got back to me they informed me that unless the job is for an insurance claim they are Not taking any new work or jobs. So if you call them please be aware of it. They have great ratings and recommendations but will not take your job unless it's part of an insurance claim. To be clear they did not do any work on my house. My client needed to sell her home and unfortunately the home flooded prior to it going on the market. With that, they came in, did the demolishing work and then put the house back together even better than before. In May 2017 my house caught on fire and had major damage. 80% of the interior had to be rebuilt--- the floors, electrical, plumbing, new walls, etc, and Mark's Construction handled the job with excellence. The overseer was Ralph at first, and then Frank took over, but the entire staff I dealt with had great demeanor. My house took about 8 months to fix, and I'm glad these guys were there for the job. In my hunt for a Contractor, I found that 90% of the companies have terrible customer service. They don't return phone calls or even try to point you in a direction if they can't do the work..... While I didn't have damage to repair, I wanted to get my master bathroom remodeled, primarily remove a jacuzzi tub and have a walk-in shower installed. I had decided to pretty much gut the bathroom and start over. Vanjo was my project coordinator and the majority of the work was performed by Wayne Thomas. Wayne worked very hard and did an excellent job doing whatever the job required. He had to make some alterations to make some things work, he was undaunted! We hired mark Scott construction a month ago. Dave B.was our manager and he promised to take care of our fire damage, handle insurance, take care of everything. Today it's been a month. No bid, no contract, and worse, he will not return any phone calls. Both my family and our insurance were promised lots and not one thing was done. Not one thing! Our ceiling was damage d/t leaky roof. It created a mess on the 2nd floor of my house, it happens to be in my kids study/playroom. The staff was very careful about moving the furniture, they covered everything that don't need to be moved and protected my hardwood floor well. Needless to say nothing was damage and the staff left the room in excellent condition. While trying to install a ceiling rack, I caused a water leak in the ceiling of my garage. The water soaked into the insulation and damaged the overall area. Mark Scott Construction was assigned to do the repairs by my insurance company and they did a outstanding job. The ceiling looks great (like it never happened), the price was reasonable, and all the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this company I had a roof leak and my home was a mess. AAA insurance works with them and they did a great job. The crew they sent each day were amazing professionals that know what they are doing. They seemed happy working for Mark Scott Construction and took pride in their work. Dave came out to write up an estimate and assigned Don Draper as the project manager. The moment they began working on the project they were on point.
