I called them up to fix what turned out to be a faulty wire on a slide out and a broken window. What I got was a wrong diagnosis where they claimed a motor was out. I thought better and spoke to not believing I needed a motor but went with their professional opinion. I took my trailer out a few days later and had the exact same problem. They sent another crew out a week or so later and found it was not the motor but a wire. The second team changed the motor out as well but realized it was never the motor but instead was a faulty wire. The techs words to me were "your problem was misdiagnosed," and so needless to say they wanted to charge me an additional $437 to fix the wire. I'm a reasonable person but I feel like the fact that the "discount," offered was half off the price of motor (which I never needed) is ludicrous. Seems fair to me to pay for the part actually needed with no labor charge may have been acceptable. Essentially I am only able to accept 1/2 off a product that wasn't necessary. We had been having ongoing problems with our Inverter (Magnum MS2812) not holding the inverter function when required. It kept going in and out of inverter mode for no apparent reason. I called mark Townsend to come out and diagnose the problem and offer a solution. After reviewing the problems and seeing it happen in real time, they recommended that we replace the inverter which was OEM equipment installed in a 2017 Newmar Dutch Star. They quoted me a price of around $2,900 for the inverter which I was able to source for around $2,400. Long story short, they installed the inverter I purchased at their recommendation and it did not change one small part of the problems we were having. Another RV Mobile Service came out to address our power problems when Mark Townsend failed to come by on a Friday, leaving us without any power for the whole weekend. We had to use a Mr Heater for heat in the coach with near freezing temps and charge our devices with a 15amp cord from the park utility box. The fix by the other company being a blown inverter fuse. The Tech also purchased for $400 the original inverter after explaining that replacing it did not fix the issue and I was sure it was still in good working order. I told him that if he had any problems with the inverter to please come back and I would return his money as I am an honest person who values integrity in all that I do. It has been a month now and I have not heard from him. Mark Townsend finally stopped by the next day on Tuesday, and with Magnum on the phone determined that the Coach Magnum Control ME-RC50 was the likely culprit. I sourced one that day, purchased for around $170, and received it and installed it myself that same Friday. I have been using the inverter off and on for about a month now, and we are on the fifth day of an extended trip. The inverter switches from shore power to inverting, while traveling, every time now seamlessly, not having to even reset the microwave clock. Using Mark Townsend caused us to needlessly buy a $2,40 part instead of the needed part for $170. Throwing expensive parts at the problem is not the way I would want a reliable RV Repair company to operate. They might be a reliable company with the more mundane RV fixes, but I would think twice before using them to diagnose and repair more complex issues. Mark Townsend took my money and did not offer any compensation for my losses. Having worked 35 years in the service industry and working for a Uniform Supply Company in both sales and customer retention, I know that what your employees wear when showing up at a customer's premises is an important part of representing the image you want to present to your customers. My story is a sad one. My holding tank (black), actually slipped off it's support brackets, and came apart from the toilet and was sloping backwards under my Heartland, Big Horn,5th wheel. I was back flushing the tank, closed the valve for a while, and I heard a pop. Anyway, called Mark Townsend, came over in a couple days, charged me $95 for the service call, told me my problem. I had them return to fix it. They took off the undercover, and had 3 hydraulic jacks on the tank to support an empty tank. They came the next day with 2 metal brackets to better support the tank. It was apparent that the metal brackets did not fit well. They billed me almost 6 hours for 2 men, which was accurate, but seemed much longer than it should have been. Changed my gate valve. Total cost , a few bucks under a $1000. I was OK with that, BUT within 2 or 3 days, it started leaking again and it stank. I called them, they came 2 weeks later. They undid the covering under my holding tank, quickly reported to me that I had a crack in my tank and it needed to be replaced. I was mad because with near 100% certainty that they had damaged my tank, and they admitted that they may or may not have damaged it. I probably should have tried to negotiate something, like cost only installation, but I didn't. I said I was not paying them another dime. He said that was understandable.And they refastened the shroud. They did damage that holding tank with their 3 hydraulic jacks and, and am not sure it needs to replaced. Maybe, it can be repaired or maybe not. I will be taking it to a reputable local RV repair shop. read more

Worked with my warranty company and had my parts replaced in no time .The tech that replaced my hydraulic was AWESOME. Buttttt he was there 20 mins, jump started the part that needed fixing (sorry i can't be more technical) and charged $260!! That's crazy. NO parts, just labor $125 PLUS $135 for service call! Brought my RV back for more repairs. The roof cap was separated and required intense labor to go inside to remove side pillars and headliner to replace te screws, then caulking all along the seam on the roof. Job was completed same day with quality results and very fair price. read more

Yesterday I had a technician out to look at my generator. Unfortunately I am limited on service companies because the RV resort I am in only allows certain companies to enter the premises and only certain companies will work on generators. The technician showed up and I explained what the problem was. He stated I need to sign a form for him to be able to start working on my generator. First problem is they require you to sign the invoice before any work is done. After a while he came to me and said the carburetor was gummed up and need to be replaced. He gave me the cost and I authorized the work to be done. He never explained any other service he was doing or the cost associated with the service. At the end, my generator is running but at a HUGE cost that I did not authorize. He gave me the total cost and I paid him for the work he told me he had done. Upon looking at the invoice and getting a call a while later that he didnt charge me enough and required me to give my CC number over the phone to complete the charge I found that I was charged for 3 parts and service that I did not authorize. I am not even really sure this work was completed. The invoice looks like it was filled out before he even got here to investigate the problem and they assumed that these 3 things needed to be done. I was also informed later that this company charges $100 service fee just to come to your door. This fee does not go towards parts or labor per the technician. I have had many mobile RV service companies work on my 5th wheel in many different states and have never had the service fee not go toward either parts or labor on the call. I Believe this is fraud. I do not recommend Mark Townsend RV repair and will be talking to the RV resort to inform them of the kind of company they are allowing to work in their park. read more

Some jobs done great, but other times I won't to pull my hair out. When talking to Mark I asked for the quietist vent fan and and to repair my roof. After the roof was replaced they put on a vent backwards and my solar panel quit charging. After the installation I was not amused by the loud motor vent fan. I called the shop and told what had happed, After getting the quote for a better fan MaxxAir 7500K I was mortified on there quote, and said I'll buy the MaxxAir 7500K some place else. They told me they could not guaranty the product, I said thats not the problem. Later I call Mark again about the errors and Mark told me that I did not want a MaxxAir Fan, when I never stated that. His voice had raised like he was yelling at me and I told him I was not going to argue with him and ended the phone call & any future service from the shop. Have not used them YET because I have called several times, young lady even took all our information and stated they DO, Insurance jobs. Our Inverter was surged in a very bad wind storm and our Awning severly damaged because we could not retract it back in! So, a month or so later? We're STILL WAITING for SERVICE???? Hmmmm????????????? 6/12/2017 I decided to go to their office to find out what was up and if they were going to take care of us. But as I turned onto their street, I ran into Mark Townsend coming the opposite way. I explained the situation and he said the problem was "I was unwilling to pay the Service Call"....Well, I never said I would not pay a service call, what I stated to the incorrigible young lady on the phone was that my Warrantee Company stated that I would only need to pay our "Deductible" and they would pay everything else directly to the Service Company. Mark Townsand goes off say " Well THEY cant tell ME how to Run my Company" WOW! I been wowwed two times today by TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL RV REPAIR COMPANIES!!! This was a big disappointment! I had sent the owner Mark pics of my trailer that needed some roof repair (front cap) TWICE. This process was about a week and a half. The second set of pics were sent on 9-18-18. After a while on 10-11-18 they called me for a deposit for the part. I agreed to pay over the phone. They had told me 2 weeks for delivery. I will try to make this short. After numerous phone calls I was told they will call the company with the part from back east in the morning and give me a call back the next morning as well. That never happened numerous of times. Then I drove down there numerous of times as well after I never got a call back. I am in this for a $700 deposit. They tried calling the company from back east in front of me every time I went in. The voicemail box said it was full. A day or two before a month hit. I asked for my $ back. Of course at first they didn't want to i felt. But the morning the refund showed on my credit card I was happy. That same morning I received a call from Robert saying they can get the part right away if I wanted. NO THANK YOU!!!!! I am kind of glad the work was not done there because it seemed very unorganized and sloppy. I even saw an employee walking around barefooted and food and drinks visible to customers. Company had my motorhome in there a month charged me over $300 to fix a water leak and when i hooked hose to fill system and tank it leaked the same all over the floor. When i pulled stove out to check, it has white silicone splattered all over pipes but still leaking. When i confronted owned he said he fixed it and they refused to give a refund. Mark Townsend RV service is absolutely the greatest place you can take your RV or if you can't they can come to you with their mobile service I had two air conditioners go out on a 45-foot motorhome bus they were out here within 3 days because they had to order the air conditioners exact replacement replaced them in about an hour and a half it was a hundred degrees outside and now back running again with no problem . He was recommended to me by Sundance RV service which Kevin does a great job and repairing door locks and I had a couple of those things done but I asked him who he would recommend and they told me .I will definitely be using Townsend RV service again and will spread the word to everybody in the RV community.. read more
