Here to camp for the first time. Campground is very nice other than their internet is very sporadic. They advertise a grocery store but only sell snacks. It would really be nice if they sold essentials like toilet paper, milk and bread. That was really a negative. Their on sight winery was very nice had some great wine and a charcuterie board. Toured both caves. The Mark Twin and the Cameron caves The Cameron was cool. Very natural no electric, they gave you a flashlight to see the sights. I would say it's an all in one stop. The people that work here are super nice, bathrooms and showers are clean, good water pressure and all sites have full hook up. However the campers/RVs are packed in like sardines. There is maybe* five feet between campers with absolutely no privacy or peace and quiet. You can hear everything the people next to you have to say even at normal speaking volume. It's loud, campers/RVs and loud trucks coming and going all day everyday. And the campers sites are right on the road maybe 3-4 feet off the road. This is a glorified parking lot for people that want to go do stuff all day and come back and sleep for a night and take off again. If you're looking for a place to park for the night this is it, if you want to camp and enjoy nature it's not. read more

this was an overnight stay for us. We went through Mark Twain's cave. It was well worth it, very interesting. They took your picture outside the cave, and had them at the end of the tour for $10. So affordable. We stayed at the campground, which was very nice. We had sight B 17, wished I would've picked one by the creek. Those look so peaceful the bathrooms and showers were OK. They had hot water. The next morning when we got up, we went to the town. There is a nice walking tour. read more

The campground is clean and well maintained with full service sites to primitive camp sites. 4-5 bar free WiFi throughout the park. Clean bathrooms. Laundry (also severe weather shelter). Lots of old growth trees for shade and some spots with no shade if that's what you want. Very nice playground. Lighted Pavilions. Walk to the cave, gift shop, trolley tour and winery. Uniformed, friendly, professional staff. Gift shop prices were reasonable. Our families stay here often. read more

This camping site is pretty much the only one close to town. It has nice big trees that make good shade for tent camping. From what it looked like all the campers and RV were super close together but the tent sites were nice a big with good grass and lots of shade. The fire pits are a bit of a pain. I get that it might be safe and convenient but they are these huge tall bowls. You hardly get any warmth from them and if you want a nice big fire you have to have a lot of fire wood. This campsite isn't like a KOA with amenities but that is okay we were camping just to pass through town. Good price for what it was! read more

Beautiful Clean Comfortable Most sites have shade some time of the day. Centralized bath house with laundry. Pet friendly. Site are pull through & back in. Back in sites run by a creek & are super shady. Amenities: bath house, laundry, full hookups, fire wood, playground; discounts on trolley tour of old downtown Hannibal, cave tours, etc. They are building a mini golf & game area to be open summer 2024. The store/check in building has necessities & souvenirs. There is also a winery on site for Missouri produced wines. Very quiet during the week: we stayed Monday-Thursday & had very few other campers around. read more

Check-In was easy. Staff was super flexible. I needed to extend my stay and they worked with me to make sure I'd have the spot I wanted. I needed an Amazon delivery and the staff was very helpful in arranging it. The on-site winery has tastings, by the glass and by-the-bottle purchases of Missouri wines at reasonable prices. Again, the staff was cheerful and very accomodating in helping customers select wines that were palate-pleasing for each customer's taste. A little more crowded than I'd hoped, but the rates are fair for such tight quarters. There are a large number of WiFi hotspots scattered throughout the park, but still the WiFi experience is poor. This is an issue because on our AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon phones we had zero bars. (Think about it: the campground in literally in a "hollow." There are no cell antennas!) But the WiFi in the winery, the sandwich shop, and the gift shop is more than adequate for email and light work. If I had one quibble it'd be this: They don't offer discounts to campers for the cave tours. The tours are a little on the "pricey" side, and knocking a few bucks off for those folks paying to stay on-prem would be a nice touch. (On the other hand, stay six nights and the seventh is on the house, so there's that.) read more

Just back from a weekend stay at Mark Twain Campground! Our site was not mowed well and weeds taller than me behind the camper, which caused a lot of bugs, mosquitos and bees! On Friday when we arrived the maintenance people were mowing around the winery for hours causing a noise disturbance! We found it odd they chose a Friday afternoon to mow but realized the next day It was because they had a private event scheduled for Saturday! I was awakened Sat nite by workers talking and throwing glass and trash in the dumpster at 1:00 am!!! The fire pits were huge and took 2 of their bundles of wood to reach a height to cook or even enjoy as a bonfire! Plus our fire pit was surrounded by unmowed grass and weeds so no way could you sit around it anyway. WiFi was very weak! We were disappointed in the site! Restrooms were clean! read more

Campground was ok, nothing special, holiday weekend and people packed in like sardines , utilities not well positioned for use, pad sites were gravel and unlevel. Cave was below average, no live formations, guide was not well trained Winery was not a producing winery., a joke The town is cool with neat shops. The roads are gravel and very dusty. People drive very quickly through the campground, throwing up a lot of dust. My truck and camper were filthy when I left. Don't plan on leaving any windows open while there, no matter how nice the day is. The shower house is small and old, but very clean and great water pressure in the showers. Everyone in the office was friendly, they allowed me to switch sites to a shady one because it was hot and my original site was in full sun. Very convenient to Hannibal, make sure you check out Java Jive for coffee, breakfast, or lunch ! read more

We didn't camp here, just drove in for the cave tour. It wasn't the most amazing cave I've ever seen, but the history and the story of it all was what made the experience awesome. Our guide, Peter, was extremely knowledgeable, looked vaguely like Mark Twain himself, and had next level puns. I'd recommend this to anyone, and can't wait to visit again myself. read more

Recently my family and I stayed at the Mark Twain Cave and Campground. I really didn't have any idea what to expect and knew nothing about it, but my family decided it would be a good place to meet cause it was centrally located for us in the country. I am so happy with the experience that we had. The facilities, bathrooms, and Campgrounds were clean. The campsites were well maintained and have very large fire pits which were perfect for cooking our dinner on one night. The Mark Twain Cave itself was something else. Not just the actual size and natural beauty of it, but all the history that went along with it as well. Lastly, the Campground staff, employees, and owners we're incredibly welcoming, friendly, and happy to help. Big appreciation for the owners for helped make our experience so great. The Campground has a winery, a sandwich shop, a hiking trail, 2 explorable caves with tours, large campsites, sell ice and wood in their gift shop, and are close enough to town that we could actually have pizza delivered one night. I highly recommend this Campground and look forward to going back with my family. read more

Reservations were made by phone and were ready when we arrived. The clerk was efficient but not especially friendly. Our shady site was a long way from the highway and quiet. The only noise was from children playing during the day and was not a problem. However, not all the sites were as spacious or shady as ours. The trailer sat level on the grass with the truck parked on gravel. The bathrooms and showers were reasonably well maintained. Because they were at some distance, we did not take advantage of them. The campground did not have a swimming pool. The store carried just the essentials. The utility hookups worked well until the 30 amp breaker decided to trip under the strain of the AC plus microwave (first time that's happened). It occurred on Sunday evening, of course, after maintenance had hung up their tool belts for the day. We managed to limp through the evening by not using the microwave and limiting the time the AC would run. WiFi was weak, especially at night. We stayed two nights in a travel trailer. read more

Mark Twain Cave and campground. Same place. Campground is full of mature trees sites and on the short side for longer trailers and larger motor homes. Extra charge for use of the DUMP. 5$ So go with the full hook ups when possible. Nothing special about this campground. There is a winery not the biggest but wife seemed to enjoy it. They did have a limited beer selection for all the guys. We had taken the cave tour years ago. This is a dry cave not like most cave tours. Worth the visit overall especially young kids will like the cave tour. read more

Lovely, lovely, lovely! In a bit of a hollow surrounded by trees and with trees throughout the campground. Lots of campfires while we were there and pretty busy on the weekend. This seems to be more of a campground then an rv destination but it worked really well for us. The gravel and blacktop roads were a bit narrow and not particularly well marked as one way. Plenty of space in the gravel rv spots both in width and length but not particularly level though we had no problem getting level. All sites 30/50 amp but wifi was out while we were there and very few television channels. Did not use the restrooms but peeked in to the laundry and it was adequate though limited--2 washers, 2 dryers. Location, location, location! Walking distance to the caves (interesting tour though a little pricey) and a winery (very different wines from California but good enough I bought 3 bottles); sign said the sandwich shop was open on the weekend but it wasn't. Just a short drive to Hannibal and its attractions or pick up the trolley in front of the gift shop for a 1 hour guided tour of Hannibal. Glad we stayed here! read more
