I can tell you, now, after staying here through October 15th (7 mos), I couldn't have found a better spot for my needs. I have been working on a project in Audrain County, about 30 miles from here, straight down US Hwy 54. There may not be many choices for eating out, but that suited me just fine. The Country Market is just down the street and Walmart is only about 12 miles away in Bowling Green. The park doesn't tout any fancy amenities other than the #1 reason I came, and that is a fantastic WiFi connection that has had only a few glitches. The hook-ups are clean and in essentially brand new shape (because they are), and the Owners are readily available if needed. Another huge extra for this location, if you'll be here a while, is an incredible YMCA with a 25yd pool. It was a true God-send for me. I know this is a little lengthy, but I really can't say enough to express my satisfaction with the facilities, owners and the surrounding "small burg" area. But Tiffany stained glass throughout the house, leather wallpaper, and so much more. This mansion was made before its time and is a masterpiece! The only issues we stumbled on were locating the parking and then finding a place to park.

First of all, we waited a good 30 minutes after the music festival ended for the trolley to arrive. The wait was so long that 3 trolleys-worth of people were waiting. When the trolley arrived the driver (who was extremely rude) told us that this was the last trolly of the night, so everyone squeezed on. It felt very unsafe especially with the hilly terrain. We will use an Uber next time!!!!

Carl welcomed us, pulled out a map, describing highlights to visit. He told us where to get gas and invited us to use the facilities. This man knows the town and is a true ambassador for its history. The center is pristine and has flyers that are relevant to the area. We picked up several maps and information on local attractions. They also sell a limited selection of tee shirts and gifts. The restrooms are small but upscale and clean. The parking lot is small with a small pet walking area. I recommend a stop if you need info or a quick break from driving.

Traveling all the way from California, we wanted to stay in a comfortable, clean, and accessible place. When we arrived, we received warm welcomes from Mike and Carol. Upon entering the lodge, you quickly feel at home. The living room is spacious, and has huge windows to look out and enjoy the scenery. We stayed in the loft, which is a lot bigger than the pictures show. It has extremely high ceilings, which is perfect for tall people . The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean. (Unlike other lodging places in the area) To top it all off, breakfast was delicious! Carol made us home made biscuits and gravy followed by stuffed French bread topped with strawberries and cream. Both Carol and Mike made it a point to give us our space when staying there, but with such warm and inviting personalities, it was hard not to engage them in our conversations. Staying here is worth every penny, and we look forward to staying here in the future.

It was actually the best meal I had over our week long journey throughout the Midwest. Our room was very reasonably priced, comfortable, beautiful, and very quiet. I only regret that we didn't have the time to stay there longer. They go above and beyond to accommodate guests, and helped make the whole visit very special.
