I came…read moreacross Patrick's info through a post on one of the local equestrian's FB pages earlier this year when I was looking for a horse to lease. I met with Patrick & Casey on my first visit. For starters, they were extremely knowledgeable about everything horse related. That aside, they were insanely warm and genuinely receptive. My 9 yo daughter started taking lessons with Casey and has learned so much. She's extremely patient but just thorough enough to keep my kid's attention. She knows her stuff, there's no question about that, and keeps her engaged while soaking it all in. Patrick is just as talented and has helped me get over a big hump which was my recently developed and thoroughly annoying fear I had after taking a pretty huge fall off a giant thoroughbred a few months prior. The experience had left the entire half of my body black and blue from impact (in addition to rolling 5 times like a lifeless rag doll..lol). My confidence had shriveled up into something unrecognizable. I had ridden horses my whole life starting when I was 8 and had always been pretty fearless. Needless to say, it was frustrating to say the least. I'm happy to say, he was triumphant at getting me through it! I was able to reach a mentally sound place by working seamlessly through it on one of their beautiful warmbloods, "Moose". By the end of my first lesson, I was confidently cantering again in stride with perfect leg yields. (Thank you Patrick!:) I seriously have nothing but great to say about these guys. As far as the facility goes, This place is sublime. It's so ridiculously peaceful and scenic here. It's truly amazing to see all the horses... just be...well horses, roaming naturally with the other horses in their specifically assigned pastures. The horses look genuinely happy and content. It never occurred to me that there was any other way to keep a horse other than being pent up in solitude in a compact X' by X' stall for most of the day. That is of course unless you have the fortunate enough to reside on a farm with lots of acres behind it to put them in. Which honestly, who around here really does? A+++ fyi- I find the negative 'review' that "Leah G." left, interestingly and hilariously ironic, especially since she literally refused to refund me the $350 dollars I paid her in advance for a package set of lessons right before she skipped town last July with absolutely no notice. I seriously considered filing a case with small claims, bc I'm a single mom and try hard to keep everything on a tight budget in order token our heads above water. I decided it wasn't worth the time and energy for the amount lost. It still stung and shocked me that someone would do that. So to see her on here attempting to give this place of all places, a bad name.. Clearly, by her own words she's incredibly unstable . Proceed with caution doing any kind of business with Leah Green. I mind as well have gotten 350 $1 bills and tossed them out my car window doing 80...would've at least got a little show in my rear view ...just saying

Liv had just turned 11 in June. That transformation came from her determination, extraordinary training, countless hours of work, and a community that supported her every step of the way. Foxfield has genuinely changed the trajectory of Liv's life. Katie is a Foxfield trainer and has been at the heart of Liv's riding journey. She is one of the most incredible human beings I have ever met. She meets Liv exactly where she is, challenges her, gives her tough love when she needs it, supports her when she struggles, and lets Liv drive the show. Liv asks for more, and Katie helps her earn each next step. She sees the whole child, not just the rider, and the trust between them is extraordinary. Katie has been the most important individual influence in Liv's development, while also being part of an exceptional team. Janie, Chloe, and Lara teach Liv in group lessons, each bringing something different and valuable. Shelly somehow runs everything, so outsiders may think of her only as the barn manager, but everyone at Foxfield knows she is also an incredible trainer--if you know, you know. Susie is a legend, and Liv's enormous respect for her is completely deserved. The care extends far beyond lessons. Jaime has helped all three of my daughters learn the real foundations of horsemanship--from tacking up and mounting correctly to helping Liv fit the proper bit and girth when she leased her first horse. Then there is the Foxfield kid community. Before Liv's first show, an incredible high school senior from her own school spent an entire day helping her groom both horses, organize her tack, pack the tack box, and create a checklist. On show morning, we arrived before sunrise behind a close friend's car. Two older Foxfield girls jumped out to open the gate, and I watched Liv immediately relax. She knew she was not doing this alone. We had two horses to wrap and load, tack boxes to organize, and no real understanding of the process. The Foxfield kids simply stepped in. Some were showing; others came only to help. They prepared horses, loaded equipment, set up at the show, managed Liv's transitions between horses, answered questions, and anticipated what she needed. They did not just cheer for her--they made the day possible. They were calm, competent, hardworking, and generous. I have never met a better group of young people, and Liv gets to call them her friends. I have three daughters who could not be more different. Liv would happily live at the barn. My middle daughter loves horses but wants to progress at her own pace. My youngest is athletic and fearless in most areas of life, but riding still overwhelms and confuses her. Foxfield understands that they are three different children. They meet each one exactly where she is and make her feel that she belongs. There are not enough words to explain what Katie has given Liv, or what the entire Foxfield team and community have given all three of my daughters. I trust these people with my children. There is no higher compliment I can give. Foxfield creates capable riders, but more importantly, it creates capable humans--people who work hard, take responsibility, notice when someone needs help, step in without being asked, and make the people around them better. My daughter started out at another local barn that has a…read moregreat reputation but the ponies were dirty and unkempt and the teachers proved to be flaky with the schedule. Contrast that with Elvenstar where the ponies are always clean and ready to go and the instructors very rarely miss a lesson. Also, in contrast to our first barn, there are a ton of young girls at Elvenstar for my daughter to make friends with and to ride with. She's made a couple great friends there. I'm glad we found Elvenstar. We're on our third leased pony in ~3 years because KK's skills are improving quickly and she's growing! The skill increase is a direct result of time in the saddle and KK's willingness to listen to and learn from Elvenstar's professional team. Barns, like horses, have personalities so Elvenstar may not be right for everyone. But it's been right for us for about three years and I can absolutely see it being our barn for many years to come.

Not only has she come out of her shell, she has developed more confidence and self-esteem. She is learning how to ride a horse, how to care for a horse, how to properly saddle a horse. Brooke has learned responsibility and respect for animals. Mrs. Peck takes a serious approach to teaching her students about horse riding and care. She starts with the basics of how to care for horses like brushing and grooming them, cleaning the face, using the correct body terms and how to saddle and tack up a horse and ready for riding. She takes safety, very seriously her no nonsense approach teaches children not only to respect an animal that weighs over 1000 pounds. But to have compassion and love for horses. Do not come to Peck Farms expecting this to be a pony ride experience, it is not. She will teach your child how to be responsible. She will teach your child how to take ownership of riding a horse from start to finish. She teaches with love and kindness and compassion, but she also wants to make sure that your child understands directions thoroughly and that they do not get hurt or hurt her horses. I've sat in on my daughter's lesson I have watched and listened, and I appreciate the respect she gives my daughter as well as the kindness and compassion. She shows her. For anyone that says differently about Mrs. Peck. I invite you to come down and actually watch a lesson.Aa few reviews I've read do not match my experience or my daughter's. The owner often made promises regarding the quality of the lessons and the state of the facility that did not hold up during my visits. This inconsistency was disheartening and left me feeling as though I could not trust the information provided. In summary, I cannot recommend Pecks based on my experience. There are many other stables that prioritize both quality instruction and a well-maintained environment, and I urge anyone considering lessons to explore those options instead.
