Today was my 3rd time back, came here on my birthday Feb 17th to get seated directly in beating sun as well as waiting for 90 mins to get a drink order in as I'm watching people who arrived way after me eating dinner. 2nd time, same thing.. no customer service, just roaming around me and my boyfriend instead of serving us. 3rd time, I saw 5 groups of people come in- get served, asked for an umbrella (never came) and just paid after receiving only 2 drinks after sitting, patiently in the beating sun for over an hour.. My friend ordered the key lime seafood my god a tiny portion she still was hungry the guacamole portion very small land the ceviche was barely nothing. Recently went for lunch. This was my first time back since they reopened and changed hands. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. The views are beautiful as they've always been and the tiki huts are beautiful but there's no indoor dining or fans to keep you cool. We had two appetizers one was pretty good the other one we did not care for. Very small servings as well. I got the steak sandwich which had good flavor but the bread was not good quality and fell apart while I was eating it. My coworkers got burgers which they enjoyed. You can tell that the seafood here is so fresh and the views are amazing. If you come during the day, make sure to bring your sunglasses because you're literally on a beach. Sunset drink was the best on the menu and this seafood platter. Slightly on the more expensive side compared to other casual restaurants in the area but great spot. read more

I really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is awesome -- the breeze was wonderful but right from the get go the service was bad. We waited about ten minutes for someone to notice we didn't have any waters and no one had been to our table yet. A really nice waitress noticed as she walked by so she adopted us as hers which was nice she didn't have to do that-- but she was obviously overwhelmed already. I think she did the best she could. The food comes directly from the kitchen so that came in a normal amount of time I thought then my husband ordered a drink from the bar and we waited for that for atleast 30 min-- by the time his frozen drink arrived it was completely melted. She did offer to have it remade but we didn't want to wait another half hour. Our waitress was not seen again --- we saw another couple begging to pay their bill so they could leave and they waited by the entrance for a long time without being helped -- finally the squirrelly host guy asked if they needed something and got the manager. When our bill finally came I took it up to the manager after about 15 minutes of not seeing our waitress again and requested to pay our bill and that the rum runner be removed from the bill and he obliged and apologized. So it has been a few years since we ate here. Most recently because of remodeling etc. Then a couple of years due to Covid issues . The remodeling was a fantastic success . One of the most beautiful restaurants in Florida now . A few standby items on the menu of course, some New and excellent items will not disappoint you at all . The new Cuban chef has it going on . The waiter would disappear for 25+ minutes at a time without any acknowledgement as to why there was such a delay in service and food. Meals were good (curry with snapper was the best at our table) but overpriced for what you get. Saw another couple leave due to not even being acknowledged for over 20 minutes. Martini's were mediocre, Food came shortly after the cocktails and the wine at the end of dinner. We were driving to Key West and dreaming of a lunch spot on the water with a good Mai Tai. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted this place and pulled right in. Wow! Gorgeous Tiki hut bar overlooking a little beach, colorful sun umbrellas, cute dining tables in the sand.... The Mai Tais were the best we've had outside Hawaii. We had the tropical salad with Mahi- it was delicious!! Light vinaigrette, tropical fruits and perfect blackened Mahi. The crab cake was also excellent- great mustard sauce with it. An then we saw a desert go by us: "Wait! What is that??" and we put in our order for a PERFECT key lime meringue pie. So tart and fresh- very home made tasting. Fantastic! Had a 9pm reservation for a party of 5, however we decided to go earlier. Arrived around 6:30-7 and we hung out by the bar. About 20-30 minutes later, we were notified we had a table, so I cancelled my reservation. We were sitting looking towards the water and the sun was starting to set. We did try to get an umbrella, but they were so heavy we couldn't get one. But the view was completely worth it. Ashley was our server and she was the best! Made sure we drinks, napkins and all of our food ready. Had the ceviche , guac and chips for apps and they were amazing! Made a reservation through Open table for January 2, 2024. Was excited to try them out after their remodel. Unfortunately after waiting 15 mins for a server to greet us I had to flag down the hostess , took another 8 mins for our server to come to our table. He then told us the kitchen is backed up and it will take at least 45 for even an appetizer order. We decided not to wait and left. What a shame that they just weren't prepared. The view is pretty, but honestly the food is subpar at best. The prices are super high and our food came out cold. The steaks and fries were cold. Fish was okay, not worth what they charge you. Stone crabs were very small! For anyone looking to make a reservation or go for dinner time, we made a reservation for 14 at 7:15pm. They had us put $200 down to reserve the table, but our table wasn't even ready on time. Then they ran out of steaks... at 7:30 at night! Our waitress was great, but we will not go back. If they are going to be a "high end restaurant" with the new remodel and high prices and $$$ for reservation, they need to act like one. read more

My family and i had a delightful sunset dinner meal while sitting on one of the outdoor "swinging" tables over the Summer. We ended up timing our dinner just right, to see the sun going down over the water...beautiful spot to sit and watch! Our server took rink orders and I chose a pina colada. This dish was served with crabmeat, plump shrimp and a lobster tail and we could not get enough of it. The sweet lobster tail was divine and all the seafood items were served over a seasoned bed of rice made tart by the essence of key lime. After dinner we took a walk down the lighted docks / pier creating a great ending to a surprisingly good experience. Well, this was our 2nd to last night on Islamorada and wanted a scenic, nice happy hour and enjoy some appetizers. My favorite of all time is Coconut Shrimp. Hmmm. Not sure if I'd order these again. At first I thought they looked a little overdone from the dark breading. I tried them and immediately thought, "Eh, ok. I guess". The mango chutney helped....until I started pulling shrimp shells out of my mouth. Huh? You don't peel the shrimp? Don't get it. Anyway, I ate 3 out of 5 and took rest home. My husband got the "crab cake". One singular, regular sized, cake. It was pretty good. For $20?! You'd think it might be a bit larger larger for that price. He also had the lobster bisque which he enjoyed. I tried it- it was tasty. Best part of the experience was the spicy watermelon margarita. Very good. Even if it insanely priced at $16. Actually, the whole trip to Marker 88 was overpriced, in my opinion. But, it's a vacation experience. You get charged more in a vacation area. I get it.
