This happened sat 3/1/2025 I followed the lady out and asked to take a pic of her service animal and granted permission to share Store manager Paul Colwell has rudely stopped a lady that has a disability with a service animal that had his ID identified on his vest that they were unwelcome to shop there. The lady kept her composure stating her dog was trained and dog was quiet while his person was berated and humiliated. Mr Colwell was yelling causing a scene which a multitude of patrons took videos and asked if she was ok. They showed a wealth of empathy while the store representative acted like an insolent child I know I will not be returning and frankly can see others who will not also due to this uncalled for event. He has clearly broken many rules in relationship to Americans with disabilities I feel so bad for them this was uncalled for and very unprofessional They need to have compassion for those who have impediments l also believe this was not the first time he has reacted in this manner I would not be shocked if this were to make the rounds on TikTok and other social media platforms. I'm hoping the store owners take notice as I'm sure there are many options in the area to shop I am hoping when looking at stores to spend your hard earned dollars at. The store is fine. Got no probs with the store, or the service, or the employees. ( The parking lot could be re-engineered since the recent addition of Taco Bell, but that's another matter.) What I have a problem with is the Price Chopper brand tea (PICS). And since I can find no suitable place to give a product review, it is going right here. I know, its only tea, but lemme guess: you get upset when someone screws up your coffee. Firstly, I don't accept that you should have lower expectations for store brands. Secondly, those products should, at the very least, meet some acceptable standards. Since the shelf had not yet been stocked, or there was a problem with the distributor, I had to fall back on PICS Earl Grey tea bags. Whatever. When I use the tea, the first one is like regular, but insipid black tea. The following cup, I added some bergamot oil I was lucky enough to have on hand. After that, two out of every three tea bags broke open. I started putting the bags into a diffuser so I wouldn't have a mouthful of tea particles. This is a bad product. I mean, it didn't poison me or anything, but it was substandard as tea goes, and the tea bags are useless. read more

On our first trip to NY, we looked around to find a place to eat that wasn't too far away from work. Sadly, the only place we found was Subway in this plaza. After we ate our pathetic sandwich, we wanted to see what this Price Chopper store is. When we walked in, we were were like whoa! This super modern supermarket not only carries groceries, but also has a Starbucks, Sushi bar, small bar for beer, bakery, fresh deli, and even sells BBQ. I wished we would have came in here first so we could have eaten here! After our premier trip, I have eaten lunch here like 10 times (seriously). Some things I have eaten here: BBQ ribs, pastrami sandwich, turkey/ham sandwich, mashed potatoes, pulled pork sandwich, and almost got to try their corned beef but they were out that day. They also have a lobster sandwich which they advertise contains the meat of 2 1-lb lobsters but I haven't tried it. They have this incredible lunch deal until end of May for $5 which includes a fountain drink. I love this store because it's really clean, modern, and has lots of floor space so you aren't bumping into people in the usual narrow aisles that I'm accustomed to back in Cali. There really isn't another grocery store in the region that competes with Price Chopper and they seem to monopolize the region. read more

So I drove and waited 10 minutes and I called the store and they told me I am sorry I will call someone so wait another 10 minutes and no one showed up. Price Chopper in Malta has been becoming a Mkt 32 for a very long time. No one seems to know where anything is, as they are constantly moving things around the store. They also are understaffed in checkout lines. Today, I went looking for Sun Chips and they had none. I had to ask for a second item at "Customer Service". The person left his station to help me look. We went to where it used to be, where I had already looked..No. We went to the other end of the store..No. He then took off on a dead run back to the service area and proceeded to ignore me while waiting on other people. He had no backup (staffing issue) and didn't offer even an "I'm sorry I couldn't help you" . We all have problems at work, but some little courtesy goes a long way. read more

Ellen, the pharmacist at Price Chopper, is a lifesaver. I was flustered because we could not get an important seizure med for my dad. He had been in the hospital for 7 days due to a severe seizure. We were sent home in this medicine but had not been able to get it for over 48 hours. I was worried he would have another seizure. Many other pharmacies were not able to get it. She was able to find some of the medicine and patiently walked me through all the steps needed to have the rx moved over. I am very grateful for her patience and her ability to find this for us. read more

The price chopper was our lunch stop on our way up to Mont Tremblant in Canada. I figured it would be an average super market with some good stuff to get for lunch. I was surprised by their selection of cheeses, and there hot items were pretty impressive too. I was pretty happy we choose this place to stop. I'm not usually one to complain, but as we entered PriceChopper and started shopping, there was a construction worker using adhesive that was so strong that it was burning our lungs upon leaving. The smell was throughout the whole store, and it made us very sick. This isn't the first time they have subjected customers and workers to harmful situations during and after store hours. read more

Looking for a quick bite to hold me over for a few hours, I stopped into the Price Chopper in Malta to try a slice of pizza while on my way to Saratoga. They make the rectangular variety that I've seen them regularly advertise as "corner to corner." Indeed, both sauce and cheese were spread across to the edges of the corner slice I tried with sausage. They asked me if it was "for here or to go?" and if I wanted it heated. I said yes to "heated" and that it was "for here" as I watched the worker spread the dough in a pan for another pizza he was preparing. When I picked up my slice at the register I was asked if I wanted to have "the special" which would include a soda for $.50 more. The total came to $3.00 before tax and included a cup, the size of which would have caused Mayor Bloomberg to bellow loudly, for me to fill from the soda machine. The pizza was surprisingly good. The dough was of medium thickness, light with a slight crispness on the bottom from the reheating, and it had a good flavor. The sauce was not overly sweet and the sausage had a nice fennel flavor. For future reference I would ask that it be reheated just a bit longer. I'm now inclined to bring home one of their whole pizzas with my normal toppings when I see them offering a special again. Hopefully, my nearby PC will be as good. Did I mention this is a really nice looking Price Chopper inside? In some ways reminding me of the Binghamton Wegmans I was in on Saturday. read more

For Price Choppers this is probably the nicest physical store that I have been to. For now it's where we are doing the majority of our shopping because the one in Clifton Park is shear crowded chaos these days. Price Chopper in general loses points for- -High prices (compared to Hannaford) -Suspect produce and meat (check your package dates people!!!!!!). In the case of produce, just be careful it seems often older items are mixed in very coyly with new batches. read more

We needed to pick up a few forgotten things while we were vacationing in Malta, and we hit this Price Chopper. The store is huge! We wandered around for a while, marveling at the long (fully stocked) aisles and little specialty kiosks along the outsides, including sandwiches and pizza near the deli. We found what we needed easily, and they had enough checkout lanes open so we were out in a jiffy. Where we live, a store like this is a dream (one pathetic IGA in town, two larger chain supermarkets in the next town over), and none of have half the variety of products and services as this Price Chopper. read more

I am not sure what is happening at PC in Malta. I have been shopping there for years. However in the last 3 trips to the store, something in the bag was either stale, rotten or close to rancid. I called and spoke with Bob, who claimed to be the manager, to make him aware of my findings and after listening to my tales of woe, he said he would talk to the produce manager. Well, thanks Bob, I had stale box of crackers (grocery manager) near rancid meat (butcher shop manager) and rotten asparagus and carrots (produce manager). I asked if that was it and he said yes. No apologies for the loss of money spent on rotten food no and attempt to compensate me in any way. What happened to your quality control and customer service Bob? Not only is this the most convenient grocery store on the way to Lake George in the Adirondocks, it's open 24 hours. We were able to stop off on our way at almost midnight and stock up for the weekend at our friend's lake home. The deli and produce section will be closed at this time of day, but that just means that the lights will be out. You can still walk down the aisles and get your green pepper, onion, bananas, and other necessities. We got your usual summer lake foods: hotdogs (organic, and I forget the brand, but amazing), hamburger, bagels, eggs for a mad scramble, Diet Coke, and sandwich makings. Because the deli was closed, we had to get packaged lunchmeat (Healthy Choice), which was OK. Food for four ran about $80. A good grocery to know about. Worst "fresh pizza" ever. A few months ago we got a large pizza. It was okay. I mean, NOTHING special, and that was even after hubby adulterated it with more cheese, veg, and some extra meat. Today, hubby came home with a "fresh" pizza and it looked awfully dry. So hubby tried to add some homemade (from homegrown tomatoes) sauce, extra cheese, etc. and then baked it as instructed. The toppings, what there were of them, were ok, but there was woefully little sauce. That pie was DRY even with the extra homemade sauce! It was DRY!!!! I mean like the Sahara. Normally a crust is "thin and crispy" or "thick and chewy". Um. no. This crust was "thick as cardboard" and less tasty than cardboard. AFTER we added HOMEMADE sauce and extra toppings. Sure, this "pizza" is about $11 compared to $25 for a similarly sized pie from a "real" pizza place, but I will NEVER, EVER buy this "pizza" from Price Gouger ever again. I will HAPPILY fork out more than twice as much for THREE TIMES better pizza that I do not have to spend time and money trying to "rehab" to make it edible. read more

What a great store to shop at. Employees are cheerful and very helpful. The store is huge and well stocked. I like the spaciousness of the aisles that do not leave you waiting for someone to move to let you by as they browse the shelves. The produce is always top notch. The bakery is very inviting and has lots to offer. I especially love the deli where many helpful associates tend to your needs in a courteous manner and offer helpful suggestions if you are not sure of a brand. I don't appreciate being forced to use the self checkout because two cashiers are standing around chit chatting and can't be bothered. I bought beer, and that's why it bothered me, because they have to check your ID. So I had to hail one of the cashiers over. Cashier didn't say a single word to me in greeting. Price Chopper needs to have warmer water in their restroom, clean, repair broken fixtures, and update their dirty restroom. The water is not freezing as it used to be, but it's still cold. That is against health code. How do they pass health inspections? On another note, the self-checkout here is a joke. It never works, and the employees overseeing it have to keep resetting it. The employees usually appear annoyed when you ask for help at the self-checkout. Another concern is that I understand the need to make a profit, but Price Chopper regularly tries to push and sell their own products while not sufficiently restocking other competitor brands on a regular basis. They don't have enough selection of many items in their store and don't restock their shelves often enough, except for their own Price Chopper "Pics" brands. The so called "fresh" baguette breads they make are getting thinner and thinner (as thin as a banana), and are always hard no matter what time of day you go. He was entirely sympathetic to the issue (my number was skipped over after waiting for fifteen minutes to get served, which irked me sufficiently to call them later), and promised to "counsel" that associate. Malta NY Price Chopper staffs ( not everyone) seem a bit racist, not sure because of the current political situation, or my face look so Asian. I used to use coupons lying at the products in BJ's or other store , sometimes I even left some coupons at for others, even the coupon book is available at front desk if we want to get one, but last time I enquired at Price chopper malta NY customer service to see if i can use the coupon which was from a pile at self check out station(which I can't claim at the self check out since no one showed up to help me) the Custormer desk receptionist interrogated me where and how I got this coupon like a police officer, when she realized I got it from self checkout machine which was printed before me she said those are not mine and I cannot use other people's coupon like I am stealing other people's property. I have so many questions if she responded the same to other or is it me ? I don't think so. But I tried not to exploded and make a scene since I don't want to level down with her. read more

I shop here regularly as I live in Malta. Over all I like the store and what they have to offer. My biggest disappointment is the Bakery dept. For all the hype, all the breads taste the same. The baked goods even though they look delicious, do not have good flavor. Once I bought their éclairs and threw them out because they tasted so bad. Recently bought the Apple Cider donuts and could not tell the difference between regular cake donuts and apple cider donuts besides being under baked. I shop here 2-3 times every month because it's the closest store to me and it's open 24 hours. The store is a good clean store. As for prices, most of the general merchandise can be purchased cheaper at Walmart which is 2 exits North and is also open 24 hours. Sales might be competitive but you will often find they are understocked on sale items. Those small issues are easy to overlook. The major problem is checkout. The front end of the store is understaffed. The lines back up very quickly because there aren't enough registers open. Worse yet, is the cashiers. They put inexperienced cashiers on the registers alone and it quickly becomes clear that they don't know what they are doing. They call managers over again and again. There are always new people because they fail to retain staff. The very few cashiers they have retained have no reservation about telling customers that they dislike their job. They complain all about their schedules and being overworked. read more
