This is a pretty good market. They offer a variety of Asian goods for multiple countries in cuisines. Prices are fairly good, but a big issue for me is that most of the items don't have prices on them. You have to manually scan them... Which shouldn't be the case. Also, if you're a fan of picking produce, you'll be disappointed to learn their produce is prepackaged They do have a strong produce and seafood area. There is a parking lot which is great, but the area and near it is pretty dodgy. I'm not sure if it's a homeless shelter, but there are a lot of people milling around that are suspect. read more

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this market. I made a special trip from out of town specifically to shop here for certain items, despite knowing that many of their products are already overpriced. Unfortunately, the experience was not worth the drive. While checking out, I accidentally broke an item. I immediately accepted responsibility and was completely willing to pay for it. Mistakes happen, and I had no issue making it right. What I did have an issue with was the cashier's attitude. The woman working the register was incredibly rude and treated my family and me with a level of disrespect that was completely unnecessary and unacceptable. Customer service goes a long way, especially when a customer is taking responsibility for an honest mistake. Instead of handling the situation professionally, we were met with hostility and poor treatment. Between the overpriced products and the unacceptable customer service, I will not be returning. Next time, I'll make the trip to Boston instead, where I can find better quality products, more competitive prices, and businesses that actually appreciate their customers. read more

Review for their baked goods/entrees. If you want legit fire papaya salad, run to the store! It's $8 and it's amazing! You mix the peanuts and spicy sauce yourself. They sell banh mi and sesame balls but could be weekend only so please call to confirm. I would skip the pandan jelly - $6 is pretty steep. Fresh and bouncy texture feel but dry when you eat it. No prices on prepared food. Thought it's an ok Asian grocery in the area. Free parking. There is an attendant who monitors the parking area/entrance since a shelter is across the street. read more

Because it's only 5 minutes drive from my home. Although the new store in Manchester takes 30 minutes, I think it's worth the drive. The new store is spacious and clean. I usually make a long shopping list before I go. I also like their Vietnamese sandwiches and other fresh Asian food on weekends. The owners are also very friendly and helpful. read more

Pros: parking, large market, decent variety. Cons: no prices on virtually every single item. It's frustrating because I'd like to know how much I'm spending. Additionally they don't monitor the freshness of their product. Their cold case for fresh noodles and I saw moldy (pink) rice noodles just sitting there in a pile next to fresh ones. So that's worrisome. The produce was fine, lots of aisles to get most items. But with no price tags I had to ask what the price of everything was before I committed to purchasing it. It's happened a couple times where I try and buy vegetables and they look healthy from an angle, and the minute I open them and turn them to the side, they are moldy and rotten. what a waste of money on my end, but a true gain on theirs. This really is the best asian market in the area, and I like supporting this local business over H-Mart in Burlington, which is probably the closest you can get to this big of a selection. They have a large range of goods, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Indian, and more. They also have almost a whole aisle of Goya, beans, and Latin American foods. They have fresh fish, meat and a small produce section, unlike smaller markets in the area. I find their pricing fair. The staff is friendly and always happy to help me find what I am looking for. One of the proprietors has ordered items I could not find in the past. I'm very happy to see this store busy. I advise using caution when parking your car and walking around this neighborhood in Manchester as there is a shelter across the street and some rough characters roaming around. read more

These place was much bigger than I expected. I walked here and I do not recommend ever walking here. I did not feel particularly safe walking here in broad daylight. Back to the important parts though! This place was great. Got some rice cakes and enochi mushrooms and a bunch of ramen, frozen dumplings, shrimp chips. I would not recommend getting their locally prepared food though (found in the fridge section between vegetables and the checkout counter) we tried the bang in and shrimp spring rolls and we found a really long hair in the spring rolls. Becareful people and always check your receipts. This place will charge you extra item and try to get away with it if you don't pay attention. Unfortunately Saigon Asian Market is the only sizable Asian supermarket in the state. The owners are definitely aware of this fact which is why they jack up all their prices. People are either gonna just suck it up and pay the high prices or make the 45+ minute drive to another Asian market in Massachusetts. Their vegetables are a hit or miss...half of the time the vegetables are all wilted. Yuck. Some of the meats from the meat section are super frozen so you have to be really careful about selecting your meats. Watch out for freezer burns on the meats. On the weekends, they sell banh mi - not the actual sandwiches, just the bread. They also sell Vietnamese desserts called "chè" on the weekends too but of course those are expensive as well. I'm not really a fan of this place but it's really the only choice I have when it comes to grocery shopping for Asian food. Selections are honestly really limited on top of being pricy but it'll cover your basics for Asian groceries. read more

What a great Asian Supermarket! It is good sized for a typical Asian food store. It is hidden on Valley street off the main drags of Manchester. It is very clean! Tons of variety, meat, produce, rice, noodles, sauces and marinades. I even found Filipino mangoes, which are very hard to find in this area. Off street parking in a good sized lot is also a plus! I always have a great experience shopping here. There is a huge variety of food here, and I have consistently gotten great quality new-to-me foods, treats and drinks. I highly recommend their freezer section which is full of prepared foods, including many types of bao which is what initially drew me in! There are aisles of grocery items from soda to spices to noodles. I always walk down every aisle since there is so much here, and I always see something new that I want to try. Their fresh produce and meat section is impressive. There is a small baked goods area near check out and last time I tried a vanilla cake roll that was SO delicious I wanted to go back the next day. New to Manchester and was looking around for an Asian Market. I'm happy to say we found it! This place is new and supermarket huge (11,000 sq), clean, and the vegetables and fish are fresh. The owner says he brings some of the fish in from the New York fish market. A one-stop place for all asian foods and if they don't have it you can request it and the manager will try to get it for you if he can. This is the biggest and easily the best one around the area for miles. I am so happy it is here. read more

Certainly beats driving to Burlington to H-Mart or Lawrence to Shin Shin though some of what I need is in Lawrence. Saigon Market has a good selection of PORK in cuts you dont see in Market Basket or McKinnons. Pork Knuckles, feet, tongue, stomach and that kind of stuff. Also they have the Chinese vegetables my wife likes and tons of BokChoy and usually salted eggs and 100 year eggs. Plenty of choices on soy, oyster and fish sauces too. Pretty good selection of bean pastes and fermented bean sauce. Korean hot pepper flakes also. Occasionally the fish is fresh and the gills aren't brown. Maggi seasoning too which I find essential. Easy to get to, once you know Manchester. Not a big rice selection. Some asian fruits also available. four isles are useful to us, the frozen food section for pre-made dumplings and wrappers, The dessert isle cookies and things, the liquid sauces, soy, oyster and such, and the spicy sauce lee kum kee hot bean paste and fermented things. The back of the store with chicken, pork and beef and vegetables and eggs. Occasionally we check out the fish for something not too old. read more

It's clear that this market's strengths lean towards hard-to-find fresh ingredients for Asian recipes. There is a sizable produce and fish market within, and the selection is good. Otherwise, I found the products to be leaning towards Vietnamese (no surprise), Thai and Korean. There were much fewer Japanese items than Lanna Asian Market in Nashua, including basics/staples like Kikkoman rice vinegar and even Japanese short grain rice (no stock except for small 5lb bags of Nishiki medium-grain). However, there were definitely more varieties of international goods (e.g. Jamaican staples). Overall, I might stop here for an item or two or for some specialty fish or produce, but I don't generally like the narrow selection of Japanese goods. I'll continue to trek to Nashua to get my Japanese staples from Lanna. read more

It's a great store for your Asian necessities instead of driving into Massachusetts. Their banh mi's are legit! Highly recommend them! I believe they are available only on weekends. I think you can preorder too. I also bought some milk tea w boba in their frozen section-just mix the milk tea from the packet and heat the boba in the microwave. It was surprisingly good. People are nice . They also carry many items sometimes not available elsewhere. Prices though feel far too high and make the shopping experience just not worth it at times. Prices seem to go up all over the store in big leaps even before COVID - so that cannot be blamed for the increases I would think. I've heard of this place from a friend, so I went out of my way to get there today. It is clean. It had an amazing assistant of fresh vegetables and fish. The meat section boasted some beautiful roasting chickens, as well as cures of beef you don't normally find in your average US grocery. Great cuts of pork and goat as well. PORK BELLY!! Some other cuts were in the freezer section. At checkout the ladies were VERY friendly and made some great suggestions about our purchases. I was so happy to find Saigon Market - I can't even tell you. After hunting down several false leads and hopes for other markets in the area - what a delight to come in and shop here. The store is clean and has a nice variety of vegetables and produce. Lots of goodies, snacks, and oddities ($10/carton Filipino pineapple ice cream?) and staples to help you find what you need for whatever dish you're making. I was determined to find tapioca pearls and milk tea to start making my own boba tea - and lo and behold, they even had the extra large straws! The hours seem to be off with the listing - we came in one evening around 7:15, thinking they closed at 7:30. But the manager told us they were open until 8. More time to mill around and shop! I noticed a flyer on the counter for an affiliate store in Dorchester, MA - home to some of the area's best Vietnamese food - so that might explain why they have such good selections here. This market is in a really bad area of the city. They have a very limited selection of most Asian products. The prices are on the high side. They only had 2 types of kimchi (which was my main reason for checking this place out). One brand can be purchased at a regular grocery store. The other was the most rancid and disgusting tasting thing I've ever eaten. I threw it out immediately because there is no way I'm going back there. However - I'm done shopping here! They have EVERYTHING I want - but they manage it poorly. Cans on shelves are past their expiration date, the produce is tired. I bought some snow peas yesterday - that were packed on July 6th. I opened a package of Hong Kong noodles (bought yesterday) to cook for dinner - and they were moldy. This is NOT the first time. Fresh seafood, meats, poultry, offal, produce; plenty of spices, canned goods, oils, sauces, dried goods, and kitchen goods. Sometimes they are out of stock on assorted produce items - ex. missing fresh turmeric, snow pea pods at times. Very good variety of rice. Lots of frozen fish, meats, wrappers, dumplings, sweet treats, etc. Sometimes there are language barriers depending on your abilities / staff on hand, but smiles and patience go a long way in life as well as here. They had everything I had on my list for today as well as stuff I forgot I wanted. The produce I got looked really fresh. I didn't have time to browse, but I wish I had! I've had difficulty finding kaffir lime leaves and they had some in the freezer. I didn't come prepared, so hopefully the leaves will survive defrosting in the car. What a beautiful store. My daughter absolutely loves Asian markets and has a love for the culture and foods of different cultures. She used to have me bring her to a different market, but after shopping there and finding a lot of the stuff had already been expired, I looked for a new store to shop at with her. Thanks to Yelp, I found Saigon Asian Market and just got back from a trip with her there. This store is not only spacious and beautiful, the layout is that of a regular supermarket. She loved all the different choices available to her and told me she would like to shop at this store in the future. The store is clean, the items are fresh.
