This store is average at best. Poor selection, many of 1 item. Produce is often over ripe or moldy. Fish area often smells of old fish. Meat department is good but 3 times I have gotten pork chops with sharp slivers of bone. Front end is usually good but the baggers lack training: You do not put raw proteins in with ready to eat items, this is a constant issue. Typically decent sandwiches at the deli but the staff must be overwhelmed or overworked because they seem extremely confused and stressed out. This is a reflection on the management as they must see how hard they work to keep up with orders, maintaining the accuracy of each order. I hope this doesn't continue as it's quite uncomfortable ordering a sandwich or wrap knowing the staff isn't having a good day and you feel as though your compounding the issue by ordering. read more

This grocery store has good prices, cheaper than stop and shop, and has everything fully stocked. Most of the employees are young, but this place is the go-to place for teenagers in Wilmington for a job. They still work hard and make sure the store is clean. The store is always very clean and there is always an employee around to help. In the meat section today, I was looking for help and an employee came up and asked if I needed help. Ok there are a lot of bad reviews here because of the dirty bathroom, which I have never used (gross- why bother?), and this review is for the grocery shopping experience only. I've never had an issue coming here. Yes it gets packed on the weekend, especially Sunday morning before football, but that's your own choice to go when it's packed. I think this MB has done a great job during the Covid-19 pandemic with social distancing protocols including lines to wait outside, wiped down grocery carts, limiting items, etc. Some things are still annoying, like not being able to bring reusable bags, and the one way lanes, but you just deal with it. The one thing I hate was when they made the line wrap around the store, but that is less of an issue with social distancing protocols. And it's nice they are doing senior hours 6-7am every day. There's a good variety of everything you need here. They have new products now and then. The international section is a little lacking. Shelves are well stocked. Produce and meat is fresh. I did have one issue once with a worm in a fish filet I bought, but that's happened at Whole Foods, too. What can you do. Kudos to MB for also getting rid of plastic bags and only doing paper bags! read more

We were staying near by. This grocery store is smaller than I'm used to, but it's ok. It had almost everything we needed. We got some donuts from the bakery but they're not the best, I wouldn't get them again. The lines to pay were extremely long and it took a long time to get out of there. read more

For the most part, this Market Basket location is amazing! It's not only conveniently located, but has a great selection and a similar floorplan to many of the other stores so it's easy to get in and out. Today I was super impressed with an employee working the Mexican food section who tried to check inventory on a truck that been unloaded so I could get the taco shells I wanted for my little girls birthday celebration. Unfortunately, she couldn't locate them but it was definitely the kindness and care that I was so impressed by. One of the only downside to this location, as well as many others, is that market basket hires lots of minority workers who do not speak the local language. Fortunately for me, I speak Spanish and I'm usually able to communicate with said workers, but I think it's quite wild that most people coming and going in the store do not speak Spanish and would be sadly disappointed/frustrated if they ran into the situation I encountered. Today, for example, I went to the produce section and just needed directed to the limes and the lady stocking looked at me very puzzled and told me she doesn't speak English. This seems like a common question/phrase and even the words are very similar in both languages. I ask her in Spanish and got to where I needed to go. I really wish that Market Basket would at least support these people by offering some free classes or partnering with organizations that do free classes or even reimbursing English lessons for those who are working for them. customers and the employees, and the entire organization would benefit from this type of program. read more

While I enjoy going to the larger and newer MB locations, this has become our standard bearer after moving a few miles away. Unlike the Woburn location right off 95, this one never seems as busy and parking is rarely an issue. It is tucked away in a shopping center, along with a clothing shop, bank and hardware store. I love that you can also come in and out at a stop light, since I always need to turn left back to Woburn when we are leaving. The selections have been decent about 95% of the time, I was there one early evening and there was hardly any fruit left to pick from. Also, the lines got incredibly long on one other occasion, so those are my minimal complaints. It's not the fancy-schmancy Chelsea store but it's adequate enough with friendly staff (nothing out of the ordinary for MB) and a decent selection of products. I love that the seafood section is rarely busy but the deli always seems to be, no matter the time of day. This one suits our needs just fine and we will continue to shop here, given the lower traffic coming in and out of the store over it's nearby competitors. read more

A week or so ago I ordered a fruit basket from the Wilmington, Mass. store. I did have a few questions about the order since I needed it by Monday afternoon and I was worried about it. Well at 7:30 A.M. E.M. answered my phone call and she was extremely nice and assured me it would be ready and fine. I was really impressed by E.M. attentiveness and kindness. The cashier charged me twice for the 3.99$ StarKist canned tuna. She was more busy critizing the customer before me with a front manager, than watching herself do her job. But is my fault for watching her do it, instead of looking at the screen. (Her criticism was done by lip movements, since the customer before me was still there and the front manager was at the front. The manager didn't seem to agree with her mean ways at all. The customer before me was an older lady and she wanted a certain item bagged, but the cashier told the bagger that it doesn't require a bag. And the customer was slow which seemed to irritate the cashier even more.) Now back to my item scanned twice... I don't mind You know.. Like if someone makes a mistake, it happens. It is what it is. Can't be bothered by it. I prefer my peace of mind than thinking about 4$. I just disliked that it was her, a mean person. U know what I mean? Like, it makes it worse. The MB in Wilmington MA built a new store in the existing location not very long ago. Being somewhat new, it shouldn't have a filthy bathroom. What's with the cleaning crew only washing and waxing the floors where the groceries are and ignoring the bathrooms? Market Basket managers should be ashamed that the ladies room has a missing door hook so that your purse has nowhere to go except on the disgusting floor or on the gross toilet tank that hasn't seen a cleaning cloth since the day the store opened. The paper towel dispenser is knocked to one side because it's missing a screw to hold it equally on the wall and the sink has a missing handle for the water. I don't know what it'll take to get the manager's attention about how disgusting this store bathroom is. There seems to be more concern with the store holiday decorations than the toilet paper streamers stuck to the bathroom floors. With all the cleaning products, bathroom sprays and insecticides that the store sells, there's no excuse for the bathroom stench and its overall dirty condition. read more

Who doesn't like Market Basket? I have yet to find someone else, besides a few people in my neighborhood who don't like it because it's too far (come on Market Basket, open up some more locations south of Boston, preferably in my area). Anyway, besides that everyone I knows is in love with Market Basket. Yes, it may have longer checkout waits than the local Stop&Shop, and doesn't have the food as a local Whole Foods, but consistently has amazing prices, and pretty good quality. Definitely the best option for this area of Wilmington, yet I still prefer shopping at a store with more technology, and a nice store (yes, this is a new Market Basket, but Market Basket should but some more effort in the design of their new stores. No problems with the exterior, but the interior isn't up to the speed of Stop&Shop yet). Will continue to visit this Market Basket, once or twice per year (every November, when I come up to Wilmington), but will continue to do the majority of my shopping at Stop&Shop. For people who live in the area, this is a great option for a few small items, or a HUGE grocery shopping. Conveniently location on Routes 129 & 38, Main Street in Wilmington. This could easily be the sister store to the one in Tewksbury. It's very similar, not quite identical, and I think a little better (I wasn't inundated with tables of snack foods such as sliced poundcake in the front of the store, for example). It doesn't have all the fancy specialty stations some of the newest super Market Baskets have, but it has just about everything else I've come to expect: wide aisles, brightly lit, well-stocked shelves, lots and lots of registers open (most have a packer), and an always-busy staff. Prices for basic items, sales, and loss-leaders are generally competitive. I was pretty satisfied with the meat and dairy areas, though I would have actually liked to see the produce area even larger. Be on your toes driving through the parking lot, especially the center path. read more

The employees' blind, inexplicable loyalty towards management (i.e. Arthur T) is something we shoppers shouldn't really be concerned with. I docked it a star because of the subpar produce and meat sections. Produce often appears ransacked with overly blemished items that couldn't be passed off to poor people, and probably 1 in 10 meats I purchase are spoiled. read more

This Market Basket is a nice one. It isnt crowded, customers arent crazy. I always find what I need here. The produce section is always fresh. I mostly shop at Market Basket for fruit/ veg. I appreciate the growing organic section. Alot of the other locations are lacking in that department. They tend to have minimal selection or what they do have is not fresh. I have never had a bad experience at this location. It's also located near TJ Maxx and I like TJ Maxx. read more

This is a Market Basket in the relatively new Wilmington plaza across the street from Staples. The parking lot is vastly superior compared to the south Tewksbury location. It's easy to get in and out, and the lot is clean. Like most Market Basket locations, the prices are great! The selection is also much more consistent to Tewksbury's--when I go shopping here, I find what's on my list almost every time. Furthermore, the interior is kept relatively clean, and the staff is pretty polite and helpful. It is a bit squishy by the registers though. If you're somewhere between the Market Basket in south Tewksbury and this Market Basket, the choice is obvious! read more

Lovely store but please get a pest control company in there immediately or hire a new one. Last Wednesday evening in the paper goods aisle, the mice were dancing under my feet. That ended my shopping spree , abruptly. Very scary to Havre rodents running in the aisle with so many shoppers. I will not be returning to your store anytime soon. I'm frightened when I think about the food being prepared in there . Please get it under control I considered calling the Board of Health but wanted to address you first. read more

This Market Basket location changed my opinion of this grocery chain. Before shopping at this one, I had never had a great experience. This Market Basket is clean and well-organized, always well stocked, and offers great customer service. There is even a cashier who happily speaks sign language with my hard-of-hearing daughter!! Gotta love that! The bakery is always delicious (and our favorite place to get cakes for special occasions, now) and the prices are great across the board. This has become our major grocery store now and we're happy to be saving so much money! read more

There is something very wrong going on at Market Basket. Out of the blue Market Basket is now demanding that you show photo ID if you try to pay with American Express, but not Visa or MasterCard (even if the card is signed as mine is). When asked the store manager said he was not aware of a data breach, that this policy came from headquarters, and that this was for my protection. If Market Basket wanted to protect my data they would have decent encryption and not the insecure, outdated garbage they have now. Obviously given the choice between dumping Market Basket or American Express I'm dumping Market Basket and switching to Wegmans and Lucci, both of whom have secure systems that accept American Express and Apple and don't have to demand photo ID. If you want to continue shopping at Market Basket you better check your statements and credit reports carefully. read more

My GPS actually brought me in front of Market Basket. I needed vegetables for dinner and I was in the neighborhood. I had been to couple of other Market Basket before, this was not a choice i would have made myself. I was some what disappointed that my GPS had chosen this grocery store for me, I had found the other locations over priced and a very unpleasant shopping experience. I'm glad now I gave them another chance. This location was super large, very organized and lots of items on sale. Went to pick- up egg cartons that my wife asked them to save for her. The guy in the dairy dept gave me the business because my wife didn't get them the day before and never mentioned why he no longer had them but kept complaining that she never showed on time. I recently went to this market basket instead of the one in reading because I was shopping at TjMaxx. Everything was great about this store aside from the customer service. The store was dead compared to the always busy reading store. When I went to check out at the register the employee helping me named Shawn was extremely rude. He did not even address the fact that I asked up to the register. The expression on his face looked miserable. After he finished ringing up my order and running my card, I said "thanks have a nice day" and his response was to say "yup" without even looking at me. I have never seen a market basket customer act in any manner but extremely friendly. The way Shawn dealt with me and my purchase was extremely off putting. As someone who works in retail I understand having to work when you're having a bad day but this young man did not represent the company well. read more
