I love this little store! They have everything you need here and they're perfect for a quick trip out when you need something. They have beer, wine, snacks, groceries, and tons of household supplies. They also have fresh veggies and a butcher. The store has great prices and even though it is small, it is very well-stocked. The liquor section is huge and like the rest of the store, it has tons of options. The staff is very friendly too. They are helpful and treat every customer like a good friend. I live very close; in the summer, I ride my bike over and get icecream from their freezer. It's a very nice little spot! read more

We have been coming here for almost a year, and absolutely love this store. Unfortunately I am floored at the lack of safety measures this small, tight squeezed store has taken to assure the safety of its employees and most of all their customers during this pandemic time. We were just there today, and there was no requirement regarding social distancing, or number of people allowed in a store, mask or glove requirements. Nothing! Cute little country store with one of the best chicken salad's around. This store features all the parts of a grocery store that you need in a rush, but my favorite has to be the meats and deli section. There you can find some packaged salads and dips, featuring my favorite chicken salad available in a small or large container to take home. This small mom and pop shop seems very humble with fresh quality food and lots of variety. This is my go-to place to grab some bread, fixings, and chips for a small picnic elsewhere. I started taking the commuter rail from North Wilmington and this store is right across the street from the station so I stopped in one day. It has EVERYTHING you could ever want from a store: 1. Full grocery store (but smaller than a stop & shop) 2. Liquor store (Beer, wine and hard stuff) 3. Good prices 4. They also offer cash back on debit card purchases - which I never use, but still. I haven't tried much of the prepared foods people are talking about in the other reviews, but I will be soon :-) My fondness for this establishment grows by the day. read more

Elias, how do I love thee!! Okay, so honestly this place it just the best. The butcher and prepared foods are great, any of it! Take my word for it! The prices are great as well for the outstanding quality. A few of our fav Elias items. Chicken Pot Pie - Watch our Harrows, you got nothing on Elias. Their pie is hands down the best around! It's got more veggies in it then Harrows but the chicken is so moist and tender it'll leave you swooning. The gravy addictive and the crust flaky perfection! Get a side of mashed potatos to go with it. Bean Dip - red beans, relish, awesome with chips, pita, crackers. Burgers - Their burgers, just can't explain it. It seriously the most mouth watering ground beef I've had. It's so fresh. Anytime we have a BBQ, we only get Elias burgers now. Beef cheese and spinach pinwheels - excellent quality beef, perfect for dinner. Potato salad, either the white or red you can't go wrong but our fav is the red. Apple caramel bread - just started drooling thinking about it. Moist, crumbly perfection. The lasagna and their home made cheesy garlic bread with tomatoes. Great comfort food dinner. Too many things to name and they sell booze to boot. :-) read more

I happened to be in the area and wanted to stop by a local butcher to pick up some meat for dinner. So I went to Elia's. There was certainly more to select from than I expected - local spices, deli and meat shop, prepared foods, craft beers, etc. I was hoping for higher quality meats, though - something I only discovered when I got home and actually cooked the product. I ordered two pounds of steak tips, which looks quite delicious behind the glass. Cooking it as I normally do (broiler for 7 minutes on one side, 3 minutes on the other, rest for 15 minutes), I found that there was a lot of liquid expelled from the meat. This indicated to me that the meat was previously frozen. The tips ended up slightly chewier than I expected, and the seasoning washed away with the liquids. It seems to be a place lots of locals stop in at - the cashiers knew mostly everyone's names and were quite friendly. I'm not sure if I would stop in again for butcher shop products, though. Maybe for a quick sandwich and a case of pumpkin beer ... read more

We were once regulars, but not any more. Just arrived home with two hot Thanksgiving pie dinners, and there were two 1 inch cubes of turkey in one, and the other had three. When I called to mention it, the man on the phone basically said 'whatever, nothing I can do'. Well, there is something I can do. Now I know why the kid took so long to get them for us, when we were the only two people in line, he was scouring the pans looking for actual turkey. read more

Elia's, we were meant for each other and never knew it -- until today! I was waiting for the DMV, not realizing it opened today at 10, and not 9. I love finding places like these! Fruit/nut snack mixes at ~$2 each! Huge huge smoked paprika/ herbs/ginger/rubs/mixes at ~$4-6. AND half of the store sells booze. Wonderful selection (aka what I like). La fin du monde beer. Kentucky bourbon ale (!!!!). chicago bourbon stout! Wow, man. You just made the crunchy boozy parts of me happy. Happy early birthday to me! read more

On first glance I liked this store and began to adjust my travel home to shop here. They have things I want. Simple, easy, and supporting a community family business instead of a "Big Box Store" It is unfortunate that I was treated with such a level of rudeness and arrogance one evening. Another employee there took some pleasure in the rude treatment. I finished my shopping, now cut short and paid for my purchase. I mentioned the treatment to the cashier and commented it would be very difficult to come back. Later I called the store asking to talk to the owner hoping we could resolve in a positive way this wrinkle. The young lady on the phone was clearly uncomfortable as if someone were coaching her comments. I never did hear from the owner. I am suspicious the rude treatment was by a family member and there is no accountability. So here we are. How does anyone trust a business such as this again? We all might think local businesses would be grateful for loyal customers enough that, there would be an acknowledgement of the situation and a resolution. But no. There is no trust available here. A business such as this can not be trusted. Ignoring the obvious is bad character at it's heart. I wish everyone well. read more

Although the marinated steak tips leave a little to be desired, I am extremely satisfied with this store. Great meats and prepared pasta salads, decent beer selection, and lot of other goodies that can help delay your next trip to the dreaded Market Basket. I grew up in North Wilmington and was at Elias on a daily basis. Running errands for my Mom, going down with friends for candy. Mike & John Elia knew us by our first names and always always greeted us (even as punk teens) with a smile. 50 years later I live in NH, but whenever I go down to Wilmington a stop at Elias is a must. We LOVE their meat selection. The steak tips, portabella hamburgers, pepper burgers and one of our favorites is their antipasto! They have the best deli around! Best meats! Corned Beef can be ordered around St Pattys Day. Yummy! Even tho faces have changed you can always walk in Elias and feel like you've gone "home" again. Great place! read more

The best! I have been shopping here for over 50 years and it is always excellent. They have everything. Best meats in the area (portabello/swiss burgers are great) and many prepared dishes to take home and pop in the oven. Always a good selection of fresh veggies and a full liquor store with a very nice wine selection. Everything they make is done with quailty ingredients and made fresh on the premises. If 10 stars were possible, Elia's would get them all. Awesome deli, ridiculous butcher shop, plus fresh produce AND booze. If the world was coming to an end (hello Ebola) I would wait for the world to end in this glorious country store. My favorites are the burgers. Although they are good cooked on our gas grill, they are even better cooked on a flat top. Steak tips are great but the turkey tips are the shining star. We have had them at bbq's and everyone raves about them. Pork, steaks and those stuffed portobello mushroom caps all rock my world. Lastly, THE CHICKEN SALAD just go, buy a pound and a pack of Winter Hill French Rolls and thank me later. read more

This was a nice little market. I felt it was much more like a grocery store than your typical farmer's store. Not a huge assortment of homemade foods but tons of items you'd find in any grocery store. They did have an interesting craft beer selection. Prices were higher than I'd like to pay for things like chicken pot pies and goodies. It reminded me of a smaller IGA store, which is not a bad thing. I couldn't see myself doing weekly grocery shopping there though. It was very crowded so the people in the area clearly love it. read more

This place is exceptional. The customer service is on point. From the cashiers to the gent name Mike who runs the beverage program you don't encounter a single attitude. The deli counter has great meats. I haven't tried their prepared foods but they must be good because you see them come and go every day. The beer / cider selection is excellent and pricing is fair to better then fair. I wish I could control the wine program but nobody's perfect. However this place is damn close to it. I went to Elia's for finger sandwiches and a deli meat tray yesterday. The quality of their catering is just as high as their foods; everyone at my sister's shower complimented the food. Their customer service, as usual, was top notch. I was trying to balance a toddler and wondering who I could ask for help to get the trays to my car. Before I could ask, two people stopped their work and carried the trays out for me. I'm eating a sandwich with the very last of the deli meat, and it's delicious. I live out of state and wanted to send my best friend in Wilmington a meal after she had a baby. Melissa patiently sat on the phone with me and helped me choose a beautiful meal including dessert and lunch for the next day, according to my budget. Steaks and salads and cheesecake. From what I hear, everything was amazing!!!! When visiting I've had their chicken salad and it is the best I've ever eaten. When we visit our friends we will definitely be stopping there again! Heard an employee working in the deli talk smack to a younger employee in the deli and embarrass him in front of patrons. It made me feel uncomfortable and sorry for the kid. We just moved to Wilmington and are about a 1/4 mile walk from Elia's. The woman we bought our house from sang it's praises and encouraged us to go over. I love that I can walk over and pick up a few things if I need them last-minute. And I love their wine and beer selection. The only reason I do not shop their more frequently is because there is a Market Basket about 2 miles away and my wallet needs the discounted prices I can get there. But if I could exclusively shop at Elia's, I absolutely would! read more

I recently purchased a home in Wilmington and to be honest Elia's was a very big added bonus in the decision making. I loved the small town feel and the fact that they sell everything. There are places that do many things and some fall thru the cracks but I have yet to find somewhere that Elia's is lacking. From the produce to the meat to the booze. Love this place so much. Really yummy meat, some selections of local food choices (richardsons ice cream, local honey), and the prepared foods are so so so good. Also tons of beer and wine. Produce section isn't too big but there's still a lot of variety, stuff is reasonably priced and it's fresh. ALSO this place is always packed around 6 pm on weekdays since I think half the town is buying their dinner there. I don't know a better recommendation than that. read more

I've been shopping at Elia's for many years now and just love the entire atmosphere of the store. For prime meats from the great butcher shop, cold cuts, home cooked meals, beer, wine, etc., you'll be hard pressed to find a better place that has all of these things under one roof with that 'small town store' feeling to top it off. The staff are always friendly, and always helpful as are the owners, who are always there. There's nothing like walking in and smelling the aroma of the chickens being roasted in the deli. I live basically right next to Elia's and this place is the greatest. Everyone needs that "little store" that you run to when you need milk or bread or toothpaste or booze and this is that place, only better. The best part is that they have all different kinds of booze and all different kinds of grocery items. No, you don't go here for your weekly grocery shopping. But you do go here for that thing you forget at the grocery store, your weekly booze run and some ready-made food you can pop in the oven - all in one trip. They also have Boar's Head meats (which I give them an A+ since it is the best), wine tastings, and lobster rolls on Fridays. Suffice it to say, this place is the greatest. read more
