Have had both a mani and pedi with gel polish. Polish lasted 2 weeks before needing redone because of suave from quick to top of polish where nails grew out. Small area but busy each time I've been. But I've always been greeted promptly and offered the colors to look thru while I wait. An offer of a drink was a pleasant surprise. Enjoyed the pedi with the mango scrub. Very relaxing. They do take credit cards but cash is preferred- especially for tips- so they don't have to pay fees. read more

Yes they do a awesome job on medi and pedis !! BUT... my two daughters and myself I have had our nails and toes done here for years !! Always has been clear that they are talking about you when doing your nails and will talk to you about other customers when that leave ! One girl is worse then others !! But we loved how they did our nails so we tried to over look the obvious!! They do not except tip to be left on card !! I do not myself carry cash and would sometimes forget to stop and get cash ! Just to be clear my daughter and I spent roughly 200.. dollars ever two weeks with them ! Our last visit with them I questioned the dip color they where using and they started fussing back and fourth with each other just plain stupid if they didn't realize we knew they were talking about my daughter and myself !! Then because I didn't tip one of the nail tech texted my husband and told him how rude it was for us not to tip her sister and not to request her again and that when we do tip it's not enough ! We will not be returning and yes I have given them a rating of three most of staff do great nails and toes but make sure you tip hefty and give them extra hefty tip at Christmas because in the words of nail tech Kelly they have bills to pay and Christmas to buy !! My daughter returned to spa and gave my nail tech and her nail tech a hundred dollars each in tip since they are struggling with Christmas and bills !! will not return again !! read more

This was the worst manicure experience I have ever had. I would love to give this establishment a NO STAR rating! In September 2011, I was in Myrtle beach for vacation and decided to get a manicure and pedicure. I chose this salon because of the good reviews online and its location in the new Market Commons area. My pedicure was fine and was performed by a male who was very nice. My manicure, however, was different story. An Asian woman, who introduced herself as the manager, performed my manicure. First, she used a very rough-gritted file to file my nails (the kind of file/buffer that would be used if I was having acrylic nails put on). I think she thought I was getting gel nail polish, but even when I clarified that I just wanted a regular manicure, she did nothing to try to buff out the deep scratches that were already in my nails. I am only mentioning that experience because it illustrates the poor quality of services you will receive at this establishment. However, the next part of my experience is the reason I am writing this review. The woman began filing my nails in a round shape. I asked her nicely if she would square my nails. She became very upset and exasperated and told me that my nails are too short to square them. I explained to her that I always keep them that short (it is my personal preference to have short, well-manicured nails, as I work with the public and I think it looks professional). She began arguing with me very loudly, so all of the other patrons in the store could hear and telling my to look at her nails because if my nails were as long as hers, she could square them, otherwise, she can't. It did not make any sense to me. First of all, why is the woman, who claims to be the manager, arguing with me, a customer? Second, why is she unable to perform a simple task, like taking a nail file and moving it back and forth straight across the edge of my nails? Then, it got worse. She was again using a very rough-gritted file on my nails. This file would be better suited for toenails or acrylic nails. All it was doing was tearing the tops of my nails. When I asked her if she would please use a finer file, she told me that was all she had. So I responded, "you only have one nail file in your entire nail salon?" and she said yes. I asked again, "you are telling me that in this entire salon, you only keep one nail file for all customers and to use for all purposes?" Again she responded yes. At this point, I told her I wanted to leave. I was very embarrassed, as the other customers could hear our argument because this woman was yelling and I just did not want to be there anymore. She then told me I had to pay for the entire manicure if I left. So even though all she did was ruin my nails by scratching them with an inappropriate buffer and filing them with the wrong type of file, I was responsible for paying for entire manicure. I decided to stay. If I was going to pay for an entire manicure, I was going to receive the entire manicure, even if the experience was miserable. That was the end of the arguing and drama. After that, she finished the manicure and I paid and left. I told her that I was going to write a very bad review and post it online. I did not do it right away because the whole experience was so upsetting, I didn't want to think about it. Please don't go to this establishment. There are many many other great nail salons in the Myrtle Beach area that will treat you well and provide you with the services for which you are paying. read more

My friend and I came to Myrtle Beach for a little vacation, but it has been raining our whole first day here (9/23). We decided to head over to Market Common to get our nails done. I called in to make sure it wasn't busy since we didn't have an appointment. We walked in and I was immediately seated for my pedicure after I picked out a color. I had Stephanie and she was FABULOUS! She gave me the best massage and she was very detailed in making sure I had a good pedicure. And I did! I had a great experience. I wasn't going to get a manicure, but went ahead with it. Nick (I think that was his name) gave me a french tip and another young lady (didn't get her name) did a design on my nails - one was a turtle and the other flowers. It all turned out great! I've been to a few nail salons in Myrtle and this place is my fave! I only come here now. I go to Kelly or Tina (they're sisters). Both are amazing at gel nails and toes. The salon has a decent amount of colors and the location is great. Before or after your appointment, you can shop/eat at Market Common! They use a new plastic bag over every pedi bowl, which is a nice touch for germaphobes like myself. I am very picky with my gel nails and Kelly and Tina have always done a beautiful job! read more

I've been going to Market Common Nail Spa for about 2 years now. Last week I went in for a pedicure. Justin did my pedicure. To make a long story short - My skin/flesh was cut several times to the point of bleeding. Half of a toe nail was cut off and forcibly removed to the point that an infection developed. The skin of my feet started peeling off 4 days later. Oh and a toe nail fell off too. Not to mention the crappy paint job. When I returned to the salon to inquire about the products they used in the off chance that it was an allergic reaction to a product, I was told that I was just sensitive. None of the above would have happened if proper steps had been taken to ensure that cross contamination didn't happen and things were properly cleansed. I have been to tons of nail salons, and this one ranks among the highest. The owner of the salon is an artist in his trade. The lines are precise and perfect. His wife can do any design you pull up on your phone. They usually offer, but if they don't, they have complementary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; ask for one! They are EXTREMELY BUSY on the weekends. Even with an appointment, you will be waiting at least 15 minutes. Word to the wise: if you have the time, go on a weekday. I had plenty of Pedicure's in the past but this has been the worst ever. The pedicure was done so fast and my toe nails remained too long. Why would I go to a nail salon for? My fiancé got my mom and I a mani/pedi for Mother's Day. We went on Saturday for our appointment at 930. When we went in they had already been open for an hour (which they told him they don't open till 930) and they didn't have anyone to do our nails. We waited about 20/25 minutes. We both were enjoying our time, they offer you a drink and are very nice. Unfortunately I was over charged by $10.00 which I didn't notice until yesterday when I was looking at their prices. I came in for a gel polish manicure and loved it! They have a HUGE selection of (OPI and Gelish brand mostly) gel polishes- even more than my usual salon at home. Because I regularly get gel nails for my thin nails, I'm pretty particular. Stephanie did a great job! She was very careful about making the gel polish even and kept it away from the skin around the nails- something other manicurists aren't always as careful about. My best friend and I decided Sunday to take our girls (4 girls age 8, 6, 4, and 8 months) to get mani/pedi's and have a nice relaxing girls day. Since I don't live far from the Market Common in Myrtle Beach I had heard of this nail salon and thought it might be nice. I called ahead to make sure that I didn't need an appointment and a man answered the phone and told me that it would be recommended that we make an appointment for which I made one for 1:30pm. I said that we would have 3 kids with us and we wanted them to get their nails painted at least and he said that was fine. Although he didn't seemed to amused by it. We arrived at the Salon and when we entered, first of all, they looked at us like we were crazy. Then the woman said "We don't take children" like I had just brought a germ into their salon. I told her that I had spoken with someone and they told me it was ok that we had the kids. She said again "no children". So we packed the kids up and found another place at the mall. It's not even the fact that they didn't want children there that bothers me, it's the fact that I called ahead and made an appointment AND told them I had kids and no one told me no. Packing up 4 kids in the rain on a Sunday is no easy task. I own 2 local businesses and we pride ourselves on customer service. My girlfriend and I came from New York on vacation. Our check in was not until 4pm so we needed some time to waste and I Googled nail salons. This one was the closest. The initial greeting was welcoming. The guy I believe his name was Nate asked what we came in for. I requested tips and my girlfriend wanted a Mani pedi. Nate started with my nails as my girl friend just sat next to me waiting to be attended to. In the middle of Nate doing my nails I asked when will someone start on her. Nate informed me that one of his employees just left and someone else will come in in about 10 minutes. Five minutes later a couple walks in and Nate greets them as he did us and asked what did they need. So the couple both wanted a pedicure. He told them to sit down. Someone started running the water right away. So now I'm thinking why couldn't they start on my girlfriends feet? I text her my thoughts. She pointed to an appointment book. Clearly they did not have an appointment they didn't mention it, or say their names or time. It was pretty rude! My girlfriend got upset and just decided she didn't want to contribute to their business. I felt terrible. Another couple came in closet to my nails being finished. Nate knew them by name and even knew that it was the customers bday. They got started on right away as well. They most likely had an appointment. Who knows. My girl friend and I was clearly gay and I honestly feel like it had something to do with her not being attended too. I don't like that fact that people walked in after and she was over looked. We wanted to do our nails together. We know everyone in the South isn't open minded but as a customer service business you should service your customers! We still tipped him! Not even a week later my thumb nail broke. Not happy at all!! I should have brought it to his attention and been more verbal. The staff was friendly enough, but the manager seemed rushed and answered several phone calls during the pedicure. Two days later the polish on two of my nails FELL OFF in one piece.
