The main downside of The Source is expensive garage parking (think big city hotel rates) but if you get lucky, you can find a free spot right across the street or in front of RiNo Art Park. Otherwise this is one of my favorite places in Denver! It has decent breweries and some of the best restaurants in town, not to mention the luxurious Source Hotel. Safta and Smok are THE places to go. You'll still love New Belgium and The Woods for beer. So many more spots to check out, including the little boutiques (definitely getting plants & candles as future gifts) and restaurants like Temaki Den. Grateful to see so much high quality food centralized in one market hall. I've already been here like 20-30 times! read more

The Source is a boutique hotel and market hall. We parked in the garage (1st hour free & $8 for the second hour)- no parking validation available. I was trying to decide between dining at Temaki Den (Japanese) and Safta (Israeli), and went with the latter. I think I should've went with the former though. It's hard to review this place for food because they all seem to be independent vendors. I do love the food hall and the vibe of the place overall. However, parking is very very expensive. The restaurants in the hall are also expensive but they are all very good! The service has always been very friendly. At least the staff at the front desk. Definitely check it out! I normally stay at Hilton or Marriott hotels but I've been to Safta before in the market place and thought it would be fun to try something new. The room is spacious and has a nice view but I haven't been impressed with my experience overall. The elevators are so slow, the hotel is a bit loud, I tried to order room service and the fees were equal to 50% of the bill...plus there was a mosquito in my room that was so annoying. I recently stayed at the Source. It is a great hotel! It is a 1/2 mile walk from the 38th and Blake train stop, and a .8 mile walk to the Mission Ballroom for concerts. Facility is great! There are many food choices with several restaurants, and a cool rooftop bar. It's $200 a night, so it's a hair higher than I like to pay, but the benefits are there. I stayed at the hotel for 3 days and visited the rooftop as well as the restaurant downstairs. The building is really interesting with an industrial design. The rooms have the same insdustrial feel with concrete floors and high ceilings. The bathroom was really cool with a spacious shower and telephone handle. Bed was comfortable and the room temperature could be easily changed as needed. Staff was friendly, the gave me an extra water bottle and complimentary late check out until 2:30pm. This is also a brewery so you can get beer samples at the front desk! They have a nice shopping area on the second floor with boutique stores, the whole place has a hispter feeling. The bar at the top has an amazing view of the city and the mountains. Server was nice and quick. I had the veggie burger which was OK. They offer a nice variety of beers and cocktails. read more

Finally, finally, FINALLY made it to The Source! Let's just say it's been bookmarked for some time now, but living in the burbs has proven to be quite the drive to RiNo. What a killer concept! I'm digging the community marketplace vibe as of late, and this place does it right. It's packed with cool places (breweries, food, shops) and is definitely a place the cool kids hang out. They also host a variety of events which is a fun way to experience it all! The only downside to this space, is the parking. Although there is a (free) garage just down the street, it fills up fast (due to the other businesses in the area) and construction is a mess. Otherwise, I know I'll be back! read more

Their favorite answer to anything is NO! It seems the culture of the employees is more about how they can tell guests no rather than accommodating. Too many examples to provide but the most basic one, when we had only two hangers in our room was asking for additional hangers....their immediate answer was no. Also the bare bones design has been taken too far, it's just cold. The coffee place downstairs offers no grab and go food so if you want breakfast, you have to sit down for a full meal upstairs. I will 100% be back to visit. I've been a fan of New Belgium for years, specifically their sours. From Denver, making the trip to the Fort Collins brewery is quite a trip, so I was excited to discover this new location with all my favorite pours so much closer. The bar is on the 8th floor and has a stunning view of the city on one side and the mountains on the other. We didn't make a reservation, considering it was a Tuesday evening, but the place was booked for tables. Sitting at the bar though was perfectly fine for two people wanting to sample beers anyway If you get hungry after a few drinks definitely give the margherita pizza! Very cool, small scale public market style feel. The Source is like a large warehouse with a variety of small vendors inside. When you enter, you'll notice the big open space in the center. There's a Mexican restaurant called Comida, various cheese, drink and speciality shops. A bakery called Babette's and a bar area in the back. We specifically came to get some baked goods from Babette's. The price is pretty steep for these artisan treats but you can tell that they're carefully made with lots of details. They have a lot of different uniquely flavored items but I particularly enjoyed the chocolate croissant. The only negative to this place is that the location is kind of random with lots of construction going on outside. The area itself is becoming much more gentrified but you can tell that it's going through a transition with all of the hotel construction, which can make it's access a little difficult. Super hipster hangout spot. It's like a little Chelsea market of Denver. Somebody had the great idea of turning an old warehouse in the industrial section of town and turning it into a market. Even better, there's free parking on-site (even if it is a bit dicey). I loved the ambiance of the place. Very open with pretty light blue lettering on steel. Even the bathrooms were nice. The Source is a really cool industrial venue that houses everything from restaurants, to pop up boutique shops, to fresh baked bread and pastries, to a brewery! Literally every 100 feet you are looking at something completely different. In the short amount of time I spent there I took some photos of various abstract art, ate a freshly baked croissant, checked out unique handmade cards, helped a friend pick out a plant to purchase, and indulged in delicious macaroni and cheese...all under one roof! We happened to go here on Super Bowl Sunday so there wasn't a large crowd, but I was told there are often shows and live music, even screenings of films that are held in this facility. The outside gathering areas also offer a unique place to have a drink, eat a meal, or just enjoy the fresh air of the mile high city. read more

Well.... "The Source" is lacking in the source of food and service. Stop serving food at 9PM. At a Hotel???!!!! There are 5 items on the breakfast menu so don't get to excited! Hats off to the manager! The cappuccino coffee area doesn't open till 4 and closes at 9. We saw tons of people leaving at nine to go eat because The Source closes their kitchen at nine. We got the suite at the hotel and thank goodness there is only two feet on the wall side of the bed to enjoy hitting your chin on the edges of the bed! The table and night side stands look like high school students made them in shop class! Lol! Enjoy your stay! The pictures are very cool of the place! Be ware they are very deceiving. The same place to check in is the drive in foe parking garage and it's not a two lane. This isn't as cool as San Pedro Square in San Jose, CA (similar concept hangout area) but it's as good as a converted hipster warehouse gets in Denver! It is also the only 1 i know of. I imagine that there'll be a lot more in the future as Denver continuously gentrifies. This place is a large/high-ceiling warehouse from the late 1800s that is now home to 15 different merchants that are open (mostly) until 11PM. This includes: Acorn: the shared plate, pricey food spot owned by a young chef from NY Babettes Beat & Yarrow Comida- Mexican food Boxcar Coffee Collegiate Peaks Bank Crooked Staves Jennifer Olson Photography Mondo Market Slow Food Denver Svper Ordinary Wunder Werkz Yacht Club I've only been to the market, acorn and Crooked Staves. All of which are great. The market is super hipster and offers stuff like boxed carton water, Bourbon barrel aged fish sauce, jams and nut butters. Acorn is delicious and will probably require reservations. Crooked Staves has a great selection of sour beers. This place is probably too cool and hip for me, and I probably didn't get it, but it was okay. First of all, The Source seems to be the only standing and functioning building in a half mile radius since it's surrounded by construction. There's a small valet lot in the front and a garage that lets you enter through the back of The Source. It's dark and pretty small. It's a cool concept, but nothing was calling to me. The only place I wanted to try was "The Bakery" but it's hip jail cell gates were closed so I didn't even get to try that. I would recommend The Central Market over The Source. read more

Long overdue review for The Source Hotel which was an overall fantastic experience. Wife and I decided on a little staycation and grabbed a room on their opening weekend. Prices are on the high end, but we were looking for just one night, so we decided what the hell... We ended up arriving a little earlier than the standard check-in time but were allowed to head up to our room which had a comfy king bed, garage door window, sparse but modern furnishings and all kinds of unique, designer touches. The bathroom was huge and well appointed with a modern vibe, boutique toiletries (you can purchase them downstairs) and fluffy robes. Only odd thing in there was the window in the shower that looks out into the room and vice versa. Intimate accommodations for sure. There's also a little mini bar area with TONS of booze and goodies, all just too expensive for our budget but hey, bottled water was free. While we didn't spend much time in our room, I'd say the biggest bummer was the garage door which we paid extra for. It's a killer concept but not exactly practical. The website also says "marketplace" views, so I thought we'd overlook the parking lot for the original market, maybe have to put up with noise from people hanging out on the restaurant patios. Nope, you are literally overlooking the roof and hearing all the very loud HVAC equipment of the hotel's market area. It was so loud, I couldn't open, much less enjoy the garage door. Looking straight out, your view is the parking garage, lame. You actually have to kinda stick your head out and look to the right to catch a glimpse of the city....and I paid extra for this? SIGH. Anyhoo, because we arrived so early, we headed upstairs to The Woods for lunch and drinks. I'll put this in a separate review, but...AMAZING staff, stellar views, unique drinks and good food. We also perused the plunge pools. One is a jacuzzi. One is a small pool. We don't need to get all fancy about names here. After lunch we got into our suits and headed back up for a dip. Pool was pretty warm, jacuzzi better for the cooler weather we were having and that's where we stayed for the most part. Unfortunately, we were joined by 4 unaccompanied boys, maybe 12 and under. Turns out they were from a wedding party and the adults let them run wild while they did wedding stuff. They were cannon balling and splashing water into our drinks even though it clearly says no kids without adult supervision. Thankfully, an employee eventually came to our rescue and got them out. Oh, and these little snots were also staying on our floor, so we got to hear them running up and down the halls. No fault of the hotel, but before you book, just remember that there's only 100ish rooms, so there's no hiding from obnoxious guests. Like the people partying in the middle of the night and stinking up our floor like a 420 festival. We actually had to stick towels under our door to keep smoke out. Overall, we ended up packing a lot into our stay without leaving The Source. Browsed the market and ate dinner at Smok which was pretty good. In the morning, we got croissants at Babette's and coffee from Safta. We had a couple drinks again up at The Woods before checking out and got there before they were busy, so we really had a chance to enjoy the views and kinda lounge about. Next time around, I think we'll inquire about large parties and adjust accordingly. And skip the garage door room...that was really disappointing. Oh, and a last shoutout to the front desk manager who knocked a couple bucks off the bill due to the pot smoking going on across the hall. Much appreciated! read more

This place is amazing! I came here at the tail end of my spring break with only a few hours to spend in Denver, and I am so glad that a friend suggested I spend those few hours at the Source. This place is an industrial building thats turned into a market where you can buy/eat local Denver grown foods, wines, cheeses, and breads. It also has a small art/design shop where you can buy anything from hilarious birthday cards to natural-made facial scrubs. I went to the source on a Friday night under rainy/snow conditions, but there was still plenty of parking space and seating for food. My group of friends (13 of us) ate at Comida, the taco restaurant inside the source. We were sat immediately (thank goodness), and I have to say that the food blew my mind! For $3 a taco, I got the fish taco and shrimp tacos. They're about the size of a small hand, so not a lot of food, but totally worth it for the taste. I also shared some guac and chips (the chips are delicious and are actually oven made and not like tortilla chips from a bag) as well as the nachos (which could easily feed 2-3 people as a dinner alone). I also got the grapefruit ginger drink, which was really delicious. It was sweet, but not overpoweringly so, with a hint of ginger and very refreshing. Overall, great place with a great atmosphere (mix between young professionals and artists and hipsters). read more

The original Source building is a beautifully-repurposed iron foundry turned into a market hall on the main floor with offices on a second level. The developers have now added a new building at the front of the property which contains an additional market hall and a hotel. There is also a new parking garage hidden at the rear between the hotel and the original building. The developers had the vision to begin this project back in 2013 when Brighton Boulevard was a wreck of mostly abandoned warehouses. This has now been transformed into a sleek new boulevard with multiple residential and office projects and many other restaurants and shops. The original building is anchored by Comida (gourmet tacos) and Acorn (contemporary wood-fired cooking, a branch of the highly-regarded Oak restaurant in Boulder, CO) plus the Crooked Stave brewery. There is also a bakery (Babettes), a coffee bar (Café Figurati), a gourmet market (Mondo Market), and a specialty liquor store (The Proper Pour). The RiNo Yacht Club is a comfortable bar in the center of the space. Three of the retail spaces (formerly a butcher/produce counter, a bank, and a gallery) are currently vacant (September 2018). The new building contains an additional market hall on its second floor, which connects both directly to the parking ramp and via a ramp to the front entrance of the original building. The new hall is anchored by Smōk (a barbeque restaurant) and Safta (modern Israeli cuisine from renowned chef, Alon Shaya). There are multiple, specialty boutiques including retail counters in the central area (Poketo, Vinyl Me, Please, and Malin+Goetz), Winter Session (waxed canvas and leather goods), and a clothing boutique--all run by Eyes Open, plus the Station 16 gallery and an event space. Parking is much improved, now that the project is nearly complete. Heading to The Source from downtown Denver, the first driveway leads to the parking garage while the second driveway goes to the surface parking in front of the original building plus the valet station. The space is gorgeous and spacious enough to handle crowds. The restaurants are varied and excellent. There is another restaurant called, The Woods, on the top floor of the hotel with wonderful views of the surrounding area. New Belgium is building a brewery on the ground floor of the hotel and will be aging beers in 50 oak barrels along the entrance to The Woods restaurant. The retail vendors and the new gallery have beautiful and unusual items. The market hall concept is getting a little shaky with the departure of the butcher and produce counter. I've been told that the bakery is also departing shortly. However, just as a retail space with unusual boutiques plus some of the top restaurants in town, I find the space very appealing. Now that Brighton Boulevard's reconstruction is nearly done and the new Source Hotel building is virtually complete, this is an easily-accessible location with much to offer. read more

The area is a pretty large with a good variety of local food shops: Crooked Stave, RiNO Yacht Club, the Butcher, Boxcar Roasters. Basically, it's kind of like Smorgasburg but minus a LOT more snootiness and less of a flea market feel, especially since it's indoors the entire time. I didn't eat there because we had reservations somewhere else but got some tasty pastries at Babette's before taking off. Definitely a place to go to. read more

The idea is great, but The Source is only as good as the businesses located inside: Crooked Stave Brewery, Comida taco truck restaurant, Acorn oak-fired grill, coffee, groceries, art gallery, Babettes bakery (get the butter cake), and an ATM to keep you spending more $$$. read more

The Source was the first of the market style approach to aggregating lots of shops into one cool place in Denver...Since then we have seen others pop up and in some cases do a much better job. I really like the potential of this place and I hope that it is soon realized. I met a client there today for coffee at 8:30am...lots of central seating options but wow, so dark inside. It was just dreary and felt drab and hollow. I like that you can go to the bank, shop for unique boutique food stuffs, see the florist, butcher and artisan bread maker all after grabbing a coffee or before dining on some unique Mexican fare at Comida. The potential is there but the parking is messed up while the attached hotel is under construction and add the mess on Brighton and really I just want to avoid the whole mess until 2018 sometime. We have been coming here since the day it opened and keep hoping for something to happen in the evolution...maybe once all of the construction ends things will change. read more

We thought the hotel was halfway decent but when I had to deal with Sinead O Connor who works the front desk who is begrudgingly slow...it made me realize how much I hate people. The entire time she was checking this man in, she was repeatedly talking about their "holding fees" and all their charges. She was so incredibly slow and seemingly wanting to be unhelpful. Don't ever put an incompetent socially inept person like this at a front desk. What were you thinking? She is a nightmare. read more

The Source is cool, and a great addition to the area. First off, we have to give them props because The Source was the first major development in this area. Before we became real adults, my husband and I lived over here and The Source opening on deserted Brighton was a strange and wonderful thing, and the start of a major revitalization. The restaurants in The Source are fun! Comida does an amazing Taco Tuesday, and Acorn regularly racks up the accolades for their inventive dishes. I got a delicious shaved ice cream from a kiosk, and a bar offers televisions for sports lovers. My favorite thing about The Source is their participation in making the community great. They regularly host fundraisers (last weekend's Planned Parenthood bake sale!), and have supported local crafters (a friend of mine had a one-off kiosk there to display her baked goods). My least favorite thing about The Source is the charge for parking after the first hour. If you're looking for something new to do, I say check our The Source. There's a lot to do in a small radius, and you're supporting something that will support you back. read more

Stopped in Saturday night for cocktails on the rooftop bar after an art show. The clear sky made for an amazing sunset view over the mountains. It happened so quickly I didn't get a good pic. The drinks (Blood orange paloma and old fashioned) were made well and refilled pretty quickly. The crowd was a definitely a pretty hipster mix but it made for some good people watching. I hadn't been the source since the hotel opened, but the rooms look pretty nice. It would make for a sexy staycation in town. Lots of places for drinks, eats and stuff to do. read more

After a year of the BF's stepdad suggesting that we check out The Source we finally made our way here this past Sunday to see what it was all about. The "community marketplace" concept has been popping up all around the Metro-Denver area and I gotta say I love it! How can you not? One place for all your noshing, boozing, and shopping needs?! Sign me up! Now pack all those most excellent things into a re-purposed 1880s brick foundry building in an up and coming neighborhood in Denver. Yes please! The Source features a large main bar area (Yacht Club), a couple of eateries (Comida and Acorn), a brewery (Crooked Stave), a specialty bottle shop (The Proper Pour), a cheese and spice shop (Mondo Market), a bakery (Babettes), a butcher shop (Western Daughters), a coffee shop (Boxcar Coffee Roasters), a photographer (Jennifer Olson Photography), a florist (Beet & Yarrow), and more! My fellow Source goers and I made our way straight to Comida for some chips, salsa, tacos, margs, and beers. Now anyone who reads my reviews knows by know that tacos are my jam. Comida serves up some tasty tacos for sure! After that the BF and I made our way to Crooked Stave, so I could get my sour beer fix. Yeah sours is kinda their thing; which means they're kinda my thing. The Petite Sour Rose is AMAZING! Not to mention we meandered around a little bit to check out what other business were slinging their wares here. I'll have to echo my fellow Yelpers on the parking situation. It's rough. Especially now that they have Brighton Blvd. down to one lane either direction. The entrance to the parking structure looks like it's "under construction" its self.
