Attended my first event at this adorable little gift shop and event space! My friends and I went to Flower Bingo hosted by the Owner, Chelsea, and had a ball! Each person gets two cards for each of the eight rounds with different fun themes, trivia with prizes in between and when you win, you get to pick a hanging basket! Herbal tea and a homemade delicious, soft and chewy cookie by Hunnie's Bakery. Even if you didn't win, everyone went home with a cute little succulent and happy little memories! Lots of cute little things to shop for before and after as well! Highly recommend checking out her events. I can't wait to go to another! read more

So, my review is a little unique in that, I've never actually step foot in the store. I'm a bit COVID cautious so I prefer to keep my distance from everyone and everything. As luck would have it, while going down one of my IG (Instagram) browsing black holes, I came across the IG for Market House! I love, love, loved the posts and all the things that the owner posts so much so, I asked if she had curbside pickup. Not only did she say she could accommodate but she also kindly took pictures of any item I was interested in and gave great suggestions! I ended up buying 2 cute plants and pots which I'm in love with. I put them on my desk and they brighten my mood. The curbside pick up was really great too! Everything from payment to the pickup of the items was completely contactless. She even offers to deliver locally! I greatly appreciate the kindness and respect for contactless service, as well as the wonderful suggestions. 150% a fantastic place to shop. read more

Absolutely love this shop! Chelsea the owner really goes above and beyond here. She does an amazing job stocking unique, artisan products. I have purchased numerous things from her over the years - sage, palo santo, teas, candles, plants and plant holders etc. Her patience is unmatched. Not only is she more than willing to take time to help you make the perfect purchase, she has even ordered me products that she wasn't currently carrying. She has been kind enough to drop things off at my home. All of my purchases from here have helped to make my house feel so much more cozy. The store is in a good spot by the movie theater. That means a lot of people who might not ordinarily see the store definitely will. It's really. It looks like a store that would be in Nyack, NY. Sarah & Chelsea are the owners. They met while teaching yoga in Harrington Park, N.J and became fast friends. Sarah had a home-based organic body product company called Yogi's Choice. She was selling mostly at farmer's markets all over the area. People kept telling her that she should open a store. So after much discussion, ironing out details, and finding a location, they opened Market House together. They wanted to give a platform to all the amazing artists they'd come across in their travels who don't have a brick and mortar space to showcase their talent. They sell all kinds of unique goods. Handbags, clothing, soaps, jewelry, accessories, and even some food. All handmade by local artisans. Not people who just sew in their house or whatever but people who have legit businesses making interesting, beautiful, and useful specialty items. I looked all over for a kid's bowtie and vest or suspender set a few weeks ago. I trolled the entire Bergen Town Center and came up with NOTHING. Guess what? Market House has them. Fun stuff too- like the Avengers bowtie and suspender set. Not just the average satin ones you'd expect. For holiday gifts too- this is your spot. Don't run all over to the malls. They have so many different genres of stuff, you'll find what you need. What I find to be the special piece of this story is that they really know all the artists. It's not like a typical store that just has "vendors". These are people who do work that Sarah & Chelsea handpick to give a spot in their small store. They seem like they really take care in who they choose to showcase. They don't just take anyone's stuff. They all have a synergistic philosophy. read more

I always traveled to other states to find cute items to give as gifts until this store opened. I love that they work with local artists and sell such a variety of items that you don't find anywhere else. I always end up shopping there when looking for something special for someone and end up buying myself something also. The owners are very nice and friendly. And for all Yogis like myself, they sell homemade products which are amazing. I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for something different and special. read more

I'm always happy to see a new small business carrying locally made items, so this was no exception. The store looks great and carries a good selection of locally made items from shirts and soaps to a few food items from other locals like Sogno. I like that they interact with the community, both artists and other local retail shops. I also read about the owners doing some work overseas in poorer countries. This is a very nice shop with some great ideas. I thought the prices seemed a bit high, but handmade items do often cost more so it's not that unusual. What disappointed me was when I inquired about selling my artwork there. The person who emailed me back was very nice and complimented me on my work, but she said they already had an artist that did my type of craft and they were trying not to double up on the art as to avoid competition. I can understand that, but it makes it hard to sell work locally in this area, where theres not a ton of local shops accepting work. When i lived in Boston, it was easier, but not now. Since i don't plan on being in Westwood for a long time, I was really hoping to connect with them and possibly gain some friends/networking locally. I also feel that my work differed enough from the other artists to not look repetitive. So, I was disappointed to not have a chance to connect with them that way. I only came upon the Market House when I parked in front of it to visit other Westwood boutiques. I went in and they seemed to have some cute things, I love local arts and crafts. It's not the merchandise that is the reason for this poor review, it's the customer service. Upon purchasing a few items and looking around, Sara told me they were having a "trunk show" on Saturday, and I might be interested in that, and I told her that I had an earring that I'd like made (I lost one), and she said it was possible the artist could do it as I could not make the trunk show. She gave me her e-mail address so that I'd send a picture of my earring. I did sent her an e-mail with the picture. I never heard back from her. I thought perhaps I had the wrong e-mail, so I followed up again, and still no answer. The trunk show came and went. Yesterday I called the actual shop and spoke to the other owner, who agreed I should have heard back, and didn't understand why Sara wouldn't get back to me, and said she would call me back. Never heard from her and so when i e-mailed to follow up again, she never apologized or took any responsibility for her lack of every responding to any of my e-mails. She just told me the lady couldn't make the earring. Instead of a simple apology, she had the nerve to e-mail me back (the first time) and say she spoke to me in person, she e-mailed me back, and left me a message, what "more" could she do!! She was literally making things up! If she had phoned me, then when I e-mailed her she'd simply state "I did leave u a message." where I come from, the customer is actually important; in this case, I, the customer, was not. read more
