My son in a zebra costume and disguise glasses in front of market magic shop's "Zoltar" fortune teller machine.

My son went in as a zebra and bought these disguise glasses. Having this shop in the market is key for my kids, we always visit and usually buy something. There's a lot of fun things. This time my 3 kids all bought trick knives, the ones where the plastic blade goes inwards so that it really looks like you're stabbing each other. I'll never forget the image of my three kids running circles around each other "stabbing" each other in the parking lot like some dance number from West Side Story XD. This place always adds something to our visits to the market. The shop workers are funny and sometimes do magic tricks. The items aren't as cheap as online but well worth the convenience and experience of the shop, so excellent value. There's plenty of reasonably priced stuff cheap enough for a kids allowance.

It is an interesting and cool specialty store to check out if you like magic tricks or just to be entertained and amazed by the staff.

Had a great experience today , was very nice and took time to show me a few tricks , wasn't pushy , great selection

Hubs bought a million-dollar bill for souvenir! Kiddo used the fortune teller machine and also the souvenir penny machine, but the penny was a bit messed up (not enough muscle to move crank the machine). The guy offered to help us make a new one and refund us the 76 cents. Four stars for the act of kindness!

Popped in at Market Magic and Novelties in Pikes Market Place. This is one of the first shops I've been too since I became a magician. The store looks pretty much the same as 20 years ago. All the antique magic tricks brought back lots of memories. The store was very crowded with lots of youngsters so inquisitive. Then, I got to meet Darryl, the owner of the magic shop. We chatted about 1/2 hour and talked about people he knew way back then. It's always nice to meet the old timers, they bring back the true foundation of magic. Check out his shop if your at Pikes Place Market. And ask him or someone at the counter to do a trick.

I was informed the tourney would likely go until 9pm. They host both the card game and the switch/video game challenges. I did have a card to trade and the breakdown of the process was the most thorough I've seen yet and I wanted store credit as you get 80% vs 70% if you got cash only. Anywho, the wait to be called did take longer than I'd like but given it was busy and my decision on what to use for store credit took awhile, I wouldn't deduct anything. Avery (sp?) was the main person who helped me and she was very patient. I also bought some playable cards (they have a stash of organized cards in bins near their staff-only area which other employees helped me out with. All-in-all, very spacious and well organized! They have one exclusively for double rares/ex cards, ultra rares/full arts, ace specs, etc. They even have a box for people to drop off ETB boxes in for people to claim for free if they want to take home. I also noticed some instant ramen station which they utilized for food in the store. They have some nice wall art too that was handprints as well. Would revisit if I'm ever back in Seattle, WA!

The staff was also friendlier and helpful. If you're looking for Pokémon cards, this is definitely not the best place to look for them. They had a bunch of single cards displayed and it looks pretty randomized. Not a good variety and honestly looks disorganized. They at least have a decent amount of sealed products, but everything was above market price. The staff wasn't friendly, nor were they interactive. The place wasn't that organized. There's a decent amount of table with you want to play card games with your friends.

Tacoma was out but the sweet sales associates offered to order or call Seattle. I overheard them on the phone confirming various sizes. So I thanked them & drove up to Seattle. I noticed the Seattle location didn't have the sizes I was told, I asked the guy in charge of frames/ stretchers and he claimed I asked for one size then showed me a different brand from what was confirmed over the phone, a heavy duty variety. When I expressed frustration of being told the wrong thing, he walked off pouting, didn't offer to order any for me like Tacoma did. Not wanting to leave empty handed I grabbed a couple off sizes so I can work. On my way to check out, I informed my friend of what just occured and placed the stretchers at the register. The clerk said "You need to check out over there, Sir." My flabbers were gasted! My monocle popped out! I said "Sir? I'm not a sir!". This was strange and shocking to me. So I went to the proper clerk saying "They just called me Sir. What part of me gives man? I've never been called a man." So yeah I'm mad confused as to why my petite, adorable self in pink & lilac got called a man by someone who would not appreciate being misgendered themselves.... On Pride weekend of all times. And why wasn't I offered to have the supplies ordered for me like in Tacoma? Basically I received a wild goose chase, a bad attitude, lied to about what I overheard confirmed on the phone, and casually misgendered by Seattle staff. Very sad since I prefer supporting local. The Tacoma shop is a vibe with kind, helpful staff. I'll stick with them and Jerry's Art a Rama online. Apparently several reviews report bad behavior from staff over the past year or so. Don't need the funky ahh attitude when I just wanna create.
