You guys. I think I just found a new favorite breakfast place. And dare I say....it may even rival the likes of Brooklyn Bagel in Derry. But really though, it's just nice to have another amazing breakfast place that's a bit closer to where I live for a change. Only a couple of towns over from Nashua, MPD epitomizes what the "farm to fork" experience is all about. From the farm fresh eggs, to the perfectly toasted bread, and homefries that seem tough to come by in most places these days. And wouldn't you know it - they even offer a choice between homemade hash or the canned variety. Diners like these automatically get bonus points in my book when they offer both styles of corned beef hash! If you viewed the photos before reading this review, you already know what I got. It's my all time favorite breakfast, baby! And I'll just say....they absolutely nailed everything on the plate! 10 out of 10, would highly recommend. The servers here are wicked friendly and inviting. I would expect nothing less from a diner so quaint. Yes, the dining area is rather small. Something tells me it's a good thing I came here on a Monday because I can only imagine how packed this place must get on the weekends. Should I happen by here on a Saturday or something, I'll make sure to arrive early just in case. It's one of those "seat yourself" type places. Because when you first walk in, you can literally see the entire dining area with but a glance. That's how small it is. A hole in the wall, if you will. And they most certainly live up to the reputation. There weren't many photos at the time of me first discovering their page here on Yelp. Perhaps I'll change that, should I decide to give their curbside take-away ordering a whirl and try a custom omelet or something. It's been a while since we visited this small diner. Itooks the same but did add some extra outdoor seating. Sit yourself, coffee was good and hot, ($3.50 plus refills). We ordered a ham & cheese omelette with home fries, wheat toast, 1 French toast with apple topping. Our order was served reasonable amount of time. Omelette was good, homefries were small pieces of overcooked potatoes, dark toasted toast. French toast was cold and sent back to stick in the microwave. Prices were the most shocking. Omelette was $15 bucks 1 French toast was $11.50, toppings extra, of course. Our breakfast meal was $29 and definitely not worth the price. Other menu items included $8 for 2 pancakes. Take cash, they charge a 4% credit card fee. We went a few years ago and had a nice priced meal, I doubt if we'll go back, too many other better priced diners to eat from with better quality for the price. read more

Small local restaurant with excellent food. Order a burger medium rare, and it actually comes medium rare. Fish & Chips, perfect! Breakfasts are hearty and delicious. Service is great and often times fun. When we are seated at a table or booth you can have quiet conversation or listen to the friendly locals tell their stories. A neat place for breakfast or lunch! My wife and I stopped in this past Sunday. Small diner. Service and food was amazing. Try the homemade corned beef hash, had that in an omelette with cheese so far it's the best homemade hash I have tried in the area. My wife had the strawberry cheesecake crapes and she enjoyed them, coffee was really good too. Will definitely go back soon read more

Excellent, every bite was absolutely delicious. My order is a bit complex and had some allergic concerns, and they were more than willing to accommodate for me. The restaurant is pretty small and the décor is outdated. We went on a work outing with about 6 people and were sat in their corner booth. It was too small and I'd say they're not accommodating for big parties. The food was okay... the fruit was not good at all. I've never had a less tasty fruit salad in my entire life. The eggs and home fries were pretty good, so I should have stuck with those instead. They had fresh roasted coffee and plenty of specials to choose from off of the menu. I don't go to Hollis, NH often and will try somewhere else next time. read more

I LOVE Market Place Diner! Me and boyfriend usually go about every other Sunday. It is a tiny place and can get full especially on the weekends but in all the times I've gone, I've never had to wait to be seated. The have weekly breakfast specials like meatball omlette, specialty french toast like raisin french toast. If you are there and you see homemade hash on the list of specials, I implore you, order it. The coffee is fresh and the waitress will top you off as soon as they see a little indent in your glass. They use to be a cash only diner but they now accept mastercard and visa. read more

We took a chance on this place rather than going to one of our favorites. The restaurant is small with a few booths, tables and bar stools. The decor is nice and clean but very basic. Our server was cheerful and attentive even though there was a group of about eight people requiring her attention. Our breakfast was surprisingly good. I had the Irish Benedict and my wife had an apple and scrambled egg wrap. Mine stayed very hot the whole time even though they didn't heat the plate. Typical local greasy spoon...food is cooked properly some of the time, tables are left wet after they're "sort of" wiped down, etc... "Mom" of mom and pop is not a pleasant person, and can make patrons feel uncomfortable! Wait staff is pleasant, but will refer to customers as "you guys," which I cannot abide. We went there for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised to find crepes on the menu, two for $3.89 and with fruit filling for $1 more. You could order four or six crepes. They were a bit on the thick side, but delicious and two were plenty filling for me. My 6yo son ordered a cheeseburger- came with a lot of nicely browned fries. My 9yo son ordered two pancakes with strawberries- they completely filled the platter and he couldn't finish them. For a little under $7 my husband ordered the spinach omlet, which came with home fries and toast (an egg? not sure). Good portions of food for the money. We were there at 11:30 on a Sunday and had to sit at the counter as it's a small restaurant and all the tables/booths were taken. We would go again. This is my first-ever yelp review. I typically don't review establishments because I figure every one of them can have a really good day or a really bad day, and they all deserve a second and a third chance. Well, Market Place Diner has now had their chances, and we won't be back! There were two of us and we both got exactly the same thing - a simple breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, EXTRA CRISPY bacon, home fries and toast (to go). The eggs were good, the bacon was limp - not even close to extra crispy, and the home fries tasted like they were made with old potatoes (you may be familiar with this taste.) We should probably know by now not to keep ordering the same thing on each of our visits because the bacon has either been limp or undercooked EVERY SINGLE TIME we've been there! I would just ask that the staff put a little more love into their food. I know it's only bacon and eggs, but during these times when everyone's trying to support local businesses, PLEASE give your customers what they ask for! read more

I think this place has the potential to do better. I ordered a waffle and it was good. If you order fruit on top, know that the strawberries, blueberries and apples are all filling, not fresh, so I decided on the bananas which are. Friend had potatoes which weren't very crispy and someone in the kitchen likes paprika A LOT; did not make them very flavorful either, BTW. I just figure since this place is hidden in an obscure strip plaza, they'd try a little harder to make tastier food. The service was lackluster too, so overall I'd say they just don't give a f**k. Probably the most affordable breakfast in the area. The place is always full and an obvious local favorite (just sit and listen to local chatter). I have only had breakfast and the service has been out standing each time. It is small and out side seating in the right weather is helpful but if you do have to wait you will not be disappointed with this local "cheers" food stop. In all...you get in today's world... Went for breakfast. Huge portions at surprisingly inexpensive prices! One of my dining companions had to box half his meal! This is a converted pizza joint so seating is odd and a bit tight. Service was good and the coffee fresh. We will definitely be back! This is a cash only place. read more

This diner has a long-standing history in Hollis, NH. Since its first resurrection in town, along with the actual plaza, it has always had delicious food, quality selections, and that home-town, small town feel. It's the place where you're sure to bump into a "local". Awesome! read more

Have eaten here 10-20 times over the last three years. Mostly breakfast, which has been good. Used to love their hot, generous portion of fried clams. Unfortunately they don't offer them on the menu anymore. Went there for lunch last Sunday. Simple meal, bowl of clam chowder, two hot dogs, fries and a Diet Coke. To be fair, I have hot food issues. I hate fast food places, Wendy's, McDonalds, etc as getting everything hot is a hit or miss affair. Chowder was slightly warmer than room temp, took one spoonful and asked them to heat it up. Came back warmer, but still not hot. It was good, but ruined because it wasn't hot. The rest of the order took a few more minutes, which I don't mind because it's not all made ahead of time. Fries were excellent, crunchy and hot. Hot dogs weren't grilled, either boiled or microwaved. They also were, just warmer than room temp. Asked for one with onions & mustard, other sauerkraut and mustard. When they arrived I stared, looking for the onions. The waitress even said, does that have onions on it? Probably had 1/2 teaspoon of onions. Waitress brought me a small plastic cup with maybe two teaspoons of onions. Could have used twice that amount. Not enough sauerkraut on the other. Are all the fries, didn't want them to get cold while I sent the hot dogs to get heated. Then sent the dogs back to get heated. Not the way I wanted to eat my hotdogs & fries. I HAD enjoyed stopping here for breakfast while driving between Worcester and Nashua. I say "had", because on a recent Wednesday morning I stopped, had a bite and left. The food quality was adequate, as it usually is, but on my way out, decided to get a small coffee to go, because I still had some traveling to do. The counter server, not the server I had at my table, gave the small coffee to me and charged $2.13. I thought this was too much and questioned her, thinking I misunderstood; nope, small coffee to go at this place is $2.13 (she snarled). A word to the wise and frugal.
