Decided to try a random new restaurant. Wife picked Bud's. Went there on a Sunday at 1200. Food was completely average, steak cooked to order (a plus) and they offered to replace our carbs with tomatoes when we turned them down. Menus were not great, leaving off key information like on Sunday, there is no lunch served only breakfast. And the fact that even though cokes are served in plastic cafeteria style glasses for almost $2, there are no free refills. Thankfully, that was not a problem. All of the drinks at our table ran out and no one ever bothered to come back around and see if we would like more. Until I raised my hand in the air after trying to catch the waitresses eye and failing for a good while. Thankfully, one of the bus boys noticed and was able to go retrieve our server. Server made a comment about how she was just doing up our checks when I raised my hand. Dropped of the check and left as I was pulling out my card, didn't mention anything about paying at the register but I figured it out myself after a while. Observed a lot of locals getting good treatment and chit chat - personally not worth enduring the garbage service until you reach local status. Pick a different small town diner. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover is the best way to describe this place. Being from out of town when we pulled up, it reminded me of the outside of a dive bar. When we entered, it was a cute little diner set up with very friendly and interactive staff. They were amazing with my 6 yo. Food was delicious and also kid friendly. Good place for a traditional, down-home diner-style greasy spoon breakfast! Had the Corned Beef and Hash, with two eggs over medium, breakfast potatoes, and wheat toast, plus coffee. Went in for lunch on a weekday. Took a couple of minutes for the waitress to come to our table, evidently talking it up with a regular was more important. Menu has many, many "diner staples, being food made up mostly bread, eggs and/or cheese. Delivered food looked slapped together and portions were small for the price paid. Inside is very small, with table very close. No such thing as a private conversation in this diner. It was clean, minimally decorated - gave the impression they were trying to save money. Parking is also minimal, with evidence that the owners were encrouching on their neighbors lawn to gain more room. Suggested dress listed online is "casual or dressy". But don't wear your gown or tux, as the customers were either seniors or construction workers. Will be sticking to the larger area diners that have good food, service and atmosphere. This was my first time at this restaurant and decided to try it even with the mixed reviews. We walked it and wasn't greeted by anyone, and had no direction as to if we were going to be seated or if we could sit anywhere. After standing at the register for a solid 2 minutes, Waitress #1 asked us if we were all set, then told us we could sit anywhere. She took our drink order before Waitress #2 came to take our order. I had chocolate milk with chocolate chip pancakes and home fries. The chocolate milk tasted like it came from a bottle and wasn't actually handmade. The chocolate chip pancakes, while very big, were bland and didn't have enough chocolate chips in them. The home fries were the best part of the meal, but were undercooked and needed some extra flavor. The service was disappointing, as Waitress #2 only came over three times: once to take our order and give us our drinks (where she didn't have an introduction, just asked us what we wanted), another to give us our food, and lastly to give us the check (she wasn't paying attention to us even though the place was dead and I had to stare her down so she would come over). Overall, it was an OK meal with bad service. Definitely not worth the cost as there are better places to get breakfast in Nashua. I will not be returning. read more

This is the first time in years of going here and actually having a bad experience. The food was bland no seasoning what so ever. I ordered the streak and eggs, even the steak sauce couldn't help cover the blandness. My brother ordered the French toast and that was just bread dipped in beaten eggs, no cinnamon, and bland as well. I hope they didn't get a new chief cause if that is the case please bring the old chief back or a chief who knows how to season please. Great old-school breakfast joint. A wonderful discovery In Nashua that you should try Good omelets, clean and friendly with reasonably priced items - very fast service! If you follow my reviews you know I spend most weekends traveling around New England for our hobby business. Being out of town most Sunday mornings, I am always searching for authentic New England diners to have breakfast. Then I review them. This place was a great find here on the corner of Lake street and Euclid Ave off Exit 5 - a little off the beaten path but in a nice neighborhood. The menu is simple - basic breakfast and lunch options. I had the Special Omelet. Of course it comes with homemade home fried potatoes. The waitress ask if I wanted them with onions. I said of course, but nice she ask because I know a lot of people think they are optional. The omelet was fantastic. The service was on point with the waitress checking my coffee and promptly bringing my bill when I finished. On possible draw back is parking seems sparse, but it wasn't an issued and there is seems to be street parking nearby. Trying this place. A great little breakfast joint. read more

Normally I would give one star for consumable food and another star for the fact that someone brings it to you... for a base score of 2 stars. But for some reason there are people rating this place 4 and 5 stars, to that I say EHAHAHHAHAHA. and no freakin way. In fact it really only get's a half star for for being consumable... I have seen better grub on Naked and Afraid. In fact, one in our party of three didn't even finish her meal after she found a second hair in her dish, oh yeah, this was after she sent the the first dish back. I tought to myself, "what are the chances that the same person would get a hair in each dish she was served and no one else did?" So I took a fork to mine... you guessed it, hair... later corrected by the waitress as being an eyelash, my bad. I should also note that the waitress didn't even say anything to us when the first hair was discovered, just took the plate and walked away while the lady in our party was trying to explain the other things that were wrong... like the home fries were underdone (ordered as well done), the eggs were over-really-easy (ordered as over medium), she was talking to herself 'cause the waitress already halfway across the room. No apology or understanding, just took the plate and left. New plate comes back, same under cooked stuff, new hair. Waitress's comment was "what the heck is he doing back there?". Oh and the correction to me that my hairy plate was an eyelash. She took the plate again but at that point we were done with the experience and just wanted to go. I asked for a discount and the waitress said she didn't have the authority to do that but she'll go ask Harry aka "Hairy" (don't know real name, the cook). She came back and said she could take off the two meals (13 bucks) but had to leave the coffees, milk and other meal on there (22 bucks). Will not be going back there again. Coffee is meh. Place is dated but that's okay. Omelet was perfect and cooked to order, was a tall order ~ well executed. The sausage links are still my fave. Others who enjoy hash did love this non house made but crispy and good. Pancake was perfect but would appreciate real syrup option yet their syrup is decent. read more

It's hard to mess up breakfast and Bud's did not disappoint. A solid, hole in the wall spot that makes nice and greasy hangover eggs and bacon. Toast was crispy and saturated in butter. Service was spotty at times, but honestly, I don't care as long as my plate comes out perfect, which it did. read more

I was also over charged, and unfortunately unable to help my waitress see the error in her ways so after a few minutes of arguing, said "forget this", and just paid extra... for my terrible breakfast. Great breakfast at Bud's. Here is a tip for servers filling pepper shakers....if you put coarse grain pepper in shakers with Small holes...no pepper comes out. Buy the right pepper for the shaker. This happens at many restaurants these days. A pepper lovers nightmare. Unfortunately..this is the case at Bud's in Nashua. Easily corrected.But will it happen??... hopefully before my next visit. My wife and I went there for breakfast during the week and were super satisfied! The employees were friendly, the service was excellent, and the food was great! And the prices cannot be beat. I don't know how anyone can complain about the prices. I had the "Hungry Boy" (I think that is what it is called) breakfast which came with 3 eggs, 2 sausages, 3 pieces of bacon, a slice of ham, home fries and 3 pieces of toast for $8.50.....how can you beat that!?!?! I visited Bud's when I was in Nashua for work last week. We went there on another co-worker's suggestion. This is a more local type spot, and it seems like most of the people who visit the restaurant are regulars. Everyone who worked there was really friendly and seemed to know everyone who was dining in the restaurant (except us). It was a little difficult to figure out what I wanted to eat because none of the menu items had any type of description as to what was actually in the dish. This was a little difficult because I'm vegetarian, so usually descriptions help to check if a dish does/doesn't have meat in it. The only veggie item on the menu seemed to be the Greek Salad. I asked if they would be able to put it in a wrap, and they were really accommodating and able to do it. The food came out pretty quickly, but I was sad to see when I got my wrap it was literally just lettuce, tomato, and onion with dressing in a tortilla. I was expecting a couple more ingredients - maybe some olives and/or cucumbers! It was a pretty average meal and I was super hungry at the time so it did the job. read more

What a joke! Waitress is rude and we clearly were a nuisance when we asked for diced tomatoes because she laughed at us and acted like she's never been asked for tomatoes on an omelette. I asked what the soup of the day was and she said " we aren't doing breakfast we close at 1 and it's Sunday". For one.. It doesn't indicate not doing lunch on Sunday's on the menu.. And for two. .. We came in before noon. She was a little disorganized and couldnt find a free page to write down our order... I don't think my husband and I will be back. Brought my family here this morning for breakfast. Service was attentive and food was filling. I noticed they made my Dad's eggs perfect-nice and runny just how he likes it. Sister liked her omelette and they gladly substituted her toast for a bagel. I loved the coffee. I was thrilled to discover a third of my omelette hidden under my toast. There was so much food, sister and I had leftovers. This doesn't excited me as much as having another local business to patronize. I will be brunching here in heavy rotation! read more

For the last year I've been hearing about the infamous Bud's Restaurant from a coworker. My coworker has lived in Nashua his entire life and has been telling me that Bud's has a great breakfast. Today I finally experienced it for myself. I went to Bud's with my girlfriend and another couple. We pulled up to the restaurant (10AM) and had no problem getting a parking spot just outside the entrance. Unlike most breakfast joints in the area, we were able to walk into Bud's and immediately sit at an open table, there was no wait at all. Our waitress was great too, she came right over and started us off with coffee and juice and came back promptly when we were ready to order. The menu was a traditional breakfast menu, nothing fancy. I ended up getting "The Big Boy Breakfast". I really don't think you could possibly beat the value. I think it was right around $7 and it came with three eggs, maybe 4-5 strips of bacon, a ham steak, 2 sausages, toast and hash-browns. I'm pretty good at eating, and I even had some food left on my plate at the end of our meal. You couldn't possibly leave this place hungry. The eggs were cooked just as I requested, over easy. They exploded with yummy warm yolk as soon as my fork tore into them. The hash was processed which was a bit disappointing and the bacon wasn't the best I've ever had, but no complaints really, it was still bacon and hash!! My four stars is based on the fact that there was no wait, the food was above par, the wait staff was great, the food came quick and the overall value was terrific. Now as far as being "The Best", maybe in Nashua BUT I'm going to have to say Mary-Ann's in Londonderry is still my favorite when it comes to breakfast. Bud's was good though and I would go there again and I would recommend for others to go there as well. read more

I was visiting NH this weekend and we ended up at Bud's for breakfast on Saturday. It's a cute place, in a very odd location. It's in a residential neighborhood and if you didn't know it was there you may think you were lost. But we found it bcuz we knew it was there! I had an egg & cheese breakfast sandwich. It was not what I'm used to in a breakfast sandwich. I ordered it on an english muffin which was smothered in butter & grilled. It was tasty but very, very greasy. My breakfast date ordered eggs, bacon, toast & home fries. I stole 1/2 her home fries because the bfast sandwich came with nothing. They were very good & I think the sandwich should have come with them as well. I would probably go back if I was in the area but I would not order a breakfast sandwich. read more

They say the little "hole in the wall" places are the best places. It's true in this case. Buds is great spot to stop and grab breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning. I always get a bacon and cheese omelet with their hash. It's soooo good. I like that they give you a can of soda if you order a soda. They bring a cup and a can. The service is very fast and very friendly. I gave it only four stars for two reasons- it could use a little updating, cleaner carpets, walls, furniture and one day I got a dirty cup but it was quickly replaced. First visit here after driving by for decades. I had the Pepper Burger, fries, and a coffee. The burger, fries,and coffee all tasted just fine. My friend ordered a regular hamburger, fries, and a diet soda. He also enjoyed his meal. However, we noted that the waitress never asked us if we wanted refills even though we nudged our empty drinking vessels towards the end of the table. Bud's is a place that we know will give us a good breakfast. We typically go weekday mornings, so I can't talk about weekend traffic - but my two year old loves the eggs and each I thing that I've tried has been pretty decent. After about 4 trips, we have no food complaints - as I wasn't expecting a luxury breakfast. The parking spots are kind of narrow and I imagine tough to come across on a weekend. read more
