Unexpected Charges, unauthorized to do full bike diagnostics. I recently took my bike to Mark's Bicycle in Rancho Ramon for service. The staff was friendly, and Jody at the register tried to help, but unfortunately, he didn't seem very familiar with bike details. I left my bike for a week, and when I went to check, no service had been done. After I mentioned I needed the bike, it was suddenly completed within two hours. When I picked it up, I was charged $260 for work that I didn't fully authorize. I only brought the bike in because it was making a noise in the back, and I couldn't afford a full service. Later, I was told to contact Mark, who explained the charges and said he had done a "thorough inspection." While I appreciate the quick turnaround, I wish the shop had communicated clearly about the work and costs before doing anything. P.S. He said that my pinarello is an expensive bike(maybe meaning he needed to charge me according to the bike I have.) Karma is out there. read more

I went there to fix my bicycle front tire flat. The lady on the phone quoted me $15 but the after she learned that I already had the front wheel out, she said it'll be just $10. So I like the details of pricing. When I went in, she showed me options of the tub. They have a in house repair shop with very knowledgeable staff, plus what I like is the fact that you can trust them. Mark, Lori, and Jack were SO helpful and kind. We were driving through the area with our bikes on the back of the camper we were pulling and they fell off on the freeway because the bike rack failed! No one was injured but one of the bikes was damaged enough to make it in rideable. Since we were just passing through and had reservations to keep at RV Parks, we asked Mark if he might be able to help us and if there were any chance he could do it quickly because of our schedule. I recently purchased a used mountain bike on Craigslist that was in pretty great shape. When I got it home, I realized that the rims weren't straight. I watched some YouTube videos about how to fix it but thought that since it's a used bike, it could probably use a real inspection from a professional. Enter Mark's Bicycle Shop. I brought my bicycle into the shop today some time around 1pm. I was warmly greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff that were more than happy to look at my bike. Their shop was very full but even with all of the bikes they had in, they treated me like I was their most important customer and it felt like my time was just as important to them as it is to me. They looked over my bicycle and made some recommendations while answering all of the questions I had. They asked if I could leave my bike for a few days while they worked on it and I said I could but I'd be grateful if they could have it back to me some time the next day. They said they'd do their best and I left. Less than 3 hours later, they called to let me know they were done. They fixed my rims, replaced my tubes, replaced the road tires with mountain bike tires, lubricated moving parts, replaced my brakes and even plugged an exposed opening over my front suspension that was driving me crazy but was never even mentioned (that one they did for free). Their work was phenomenal, their knowledge was fantastic and they were very friendly and inviting. Most importantly, they were fast, efficient and their prices were very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this bicycle shop to anybody looking for that professional touch and I will be coming back for any bicycle maintenance/questions I may have in the future. read more

Went in today before regular business hours due to a flat I got while riding and the owner although it was still 30 minutes before opening took me in.
