My husband has been ordering flowers from Mark's for 23 years - this was the 23rd bouquet I've gotten from them to celebrate either my birthday or our anniversary (we can't afford twice a year). This time it was for our 23rd anniversary. You can see the 2 photos below and easily spot the day they were delivered vs 4 days later. This bouquet was over $250 after the delivery fee. If you add that up over 23 years, that's $5,750. For flowers... I told my husband that this bouquet, while extraordinarily beautiful the day they arrived, by day 4, they had lost color (from red to black), pedals were falling and some flowers were completely falling over. So he sent them an email saying that these flowers were not up to the same standard that we have always enjoyed from this florist. You want to know what their response was? "Thanks for contacting us. We're sorry but we guarantee our flowers for 2 days". That's it. So, if you want to spend $250 on dead flowers by day 4 and nothing will be offered to make up for it except... "We're sorry but we guarantee our flowers for 2 days", then have at it. Buh-bye Mark's. You just lost a 23 year loyal customer (x's 2) who will be shouting to anyone and everyone to not waste their $ on this business. From both my husband and me. What a shame. Imagine how much more money you would have made off of us after another 23 years. That's just stupid. Oh well. Plenty of other florists out there and 100's that are not so far away to avoid an $85 delivery fee. read more

We checked quite a few florists before finding Mark's Garden. Emalie and Nicole and Matthew were so professional and helpful. I had flower arrangements for dinner celebrating my 80th birthday. One restaurant was Array 36 in San Gabriel. The other was Brunch at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village. The flower arrangements were magnificent. I am extremely disappointed with the quality and craftsmanship of my Mother's Day flower delivery. I have been a client of Marks Garden for decades, and have had multiple arrangements sent to very high-profile clients for my UHNW employer. After seeing what was delivered to me this weekend, I am now afraid of what they have sent to people on my behalf? Mark's Garden is the most expensive floral shop in the SF Valley, and I expect top quality from them. My dear family sent me an arrangement for Mother's Day that arrived this Sunday. By Monday, most of the flowers were wilted and rotted?? It's Tuesday, and I had to toss the entire thing because it was losing petals all over the counter and smelled AWFUL, even with 2 water changes. The arrangement itself looks cheaply done - it is in a glass vase with all the stems showing, so it looks like a bunch of grocery store flowers plopped in a cheap vase. Overall, beyond disappointing! I am so unbelievably grateful for and amazed by the drive of this team. The day after their shop was so terribly burned down they gathered together and kept working to fill their orders for the day and continued to service customers. I've never received such amazing service than this. Yesterday I went in to place an order for next day delivery, then called in today to see if everything was ok (had no idea about the fire) was then told of the incident but that they were still working on getting my order out that SAME DAY. Marks gardens is now the only place I order my arrangements from. I know they do large scale events, but their smaller arrangements are absolutely stunning and I've never been disappointed. When I've ordered through them, Michael always makes sure I get exactly what I am looking for and quite honestly, he always goes above and beyond to exceed my expectations. I live in Corona and make the drive out to his shop to pick up my arrangements since I no longer live in an area where they make deliveries to. Went to Mark's Garden site and arranged to send our co-worker/friend flowers. We picked a beautiful bouquet, came out to be $150.62 including taxes. Perfect, no problem since we know Mark's Garden flower shop is known to be high-end and have previously seen their work from deliveries around the office. The next day delivery was fine nothing to say there. Then my sweet friend texted me with the picture of the flowers she received saying "thank you, they are beautiful". The flowers were nice, if we would have got them from Ralps. When I saw the picture she sent me it became apparent to me and my team we had paid 150 bucks for a few roses and some gerbera daisies. What? Not acceptable, the flowers my friend got looked nothing like the online picture we purchased. Now, they do have a disclaimer online: "Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you've selected, the local florist will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal or higher value." I didn't feel like this disclaimer was true since gerbera daisies are so cheap and the whole arrangement only had a few roses. I called Mark's Garden and complaint. The guy who answered the phone wasn't rude but he wasn't apologetic either. He was super short with a take it or leave it attitude. Initially he offered to pick those up and send a new one. In which I said NO I am not going to inconvenience my friend because you sent a less than bouquet. I mentioned she didn't complaint, she thought it was beautiful because she didn't know how much we had paid for them. He then offered to give me 20% off and that was that... I took it and I will never be ordering from them again and I will make sure everyone I work with knows this. read more

I ordered an arrangement to be delivered as a congratulatory gift. The flowers arrived very late in the evening - luckily we were staying in that night so were home when they arrived. It was a very nice arrangement of mostly roses, and they looked beautiful. Sadly, after less than a day they were wilting, and within a few days I needed to tear off the brown leaves and pull out the flowers that were completely dead, leaving just the nearly dead ones in the arrangement. On the same day these were delivered, we brought home flowers from Ralph's. Those from Ralph's, a week later, still look fresh-cut. The ones from Mark's Garden look awful. I contacted Mark's to tell them how disappointed I was, and they were not the least bit concerned. They told me, "we say our flowers last about 4 days". Sounded pretty odd to me that they were so casual about their expensive flowers dying on their customers' tables in just a few days. Well, they didn't say that to me when I ordered (why would I ask when I expected them to be high quality), and if they had I wouldn't have wasted my money. Will never order from them again, and am sharing my lousy experience with everyone I can. read more

This florist is amazing! I once received a basket from here and it was like an enchanted meadow of gorgeous flowers, grapes and moss, and arrived in this beautful basket AND lasted over a month! By far the nicest floral gift I've ever received. Great for a gift that will really blow the pants off the person you are sending it to. Not the cheapest place around. But you get above and beyond what you are paying for!! I was told this was a high end flower boutique. I wanted to buy something extra special for a friends 91st birthday. She is a beautiful woman who is so rare and kind i wanted her gift to reflect her beauty. I spent 250 dollars on the flowers and bought a candle for myself just to show money was no object and that i was actually offended by the suggestion that a mere bouquet of flowers would be a problem for me. When i walked into Marks Garden the brunette woman at the counter told me the price of the flowers on the table to my right. It was a ninety dollar pre arranged bouquet of roses. It seemed as though-because i am black- she was trying to scare me off with the price. I told her i do not have a budget on a bouquet. Not to mention if a person is walking into a flower shop on Ventura and not a Ralph's grocer for flowers -I'd imagine they expect expensive flowers. She reluctantly showed me beautiful dark pink and Fuchsia flowers which i said i wanted. " Pink lots of pink. " I did not get what i wanted. The next day i saw the ugliest arrangement ever and I complained. They fixed it. But it i still isn't what i wanted. There isn't one hot pink or fuchsia flower from the flowers i pointed out. I didn't have it in me to wait for them to try again so i took my loss and will never go back. Unbelievable. Why can't people just do their job? For the record " You can hate black people just give me the bouquet i paid 250 for. Is that so difficult? Listen and execute.
