He made a statement that he'd have to rent the equipment longer and that would increase the price, but that was all. We used our entire savings, and had to pull out 10,000 from our 401K to pay him. We now have a dirt lot we can't do anything with due to no funds. The work itself isn't bad. The job was well done. But I'd keep track of exact hours, crews and make everything written down in the contract. This destroyed us financially.
