We chose this place because it had 4.5 starts on yelp. We walked in and the staff was friendly and helpful. Getting set up with rentals, ammo, eyes, and ears were rather easy. The lanes were easy to operate, however the firearms were not. The guns were not kept up and cleaned. I've shot USPSA, and have been a gun owner for many years, and know the extent of my abilities. These guns have not been cleaned and upkept for a very long time. The accuracy of the guns were very off. Both my and my friend could not believe how off these guns were. It was a shame because they do have a nice range. That's why I gave this place 2 stars. read more

It's been years since I've been back to Marksman & it looks like they updated many things now. AHH the time spent here goes by so quick, I shot 100 rounds in less than an hour. Just had to make sure the new Sig works without a hitch bf it's used as my EDC. Flawless..... Oh back to thr range, clean well lighted & dirt cheap at $8 a person with a target & free use of the eye & ear protection. I even saw the guy behind the counter wipe these down after the patrons returned theirs. It was a Tuesday evening & it was still busy though I did not have to wait. We came in here for the first time tonight. The prices were the best in town from the gun range price to the actual gun prices their selves. We met with Nelson and we literally asked him a million questions and he never got tired of answering. He helped us a lot and great customer service. This is a great range with friendly helpful people and great lighting. This is by far the best of the three indoor ranges we have used in the Clear Lake area because of the lighting. Most of the ranges have good lighting at the target and firing line bench, but when you lift you weapon it is in a dark area making the sights hard to see. Not so at Marksman; the sights are well illuminated and easy to see. A Bonus: it is the least expensive of the ranges. read more

Love this place the environment is great the people the staff and the vibe is all great if you never shot a gun or have this place is still the place to shoot at for 10 bucks you can all day shooting they give you one free target of purchase safty glasses and ear muffs to use all for 10 bucks after that you can buy more targets that are only 1 dollar and bullets too whatever you need they have it matter of fact I have a 2016 Ruger americanpistol I needed a double clip magazine clip and they ordered it the next day great customer service and don't matter if you spend 10 bucks or 200 bucks this place is still the place to be regardless and I even go their 2-3 times outta week or more and also just toke my Chl classes and it was very fun and educational so hope to see yall there read more

This range is a really safe and affordable option! The staff are really personable and immediately put you at ease. The range fee is also really reasonable, especially since it covers the entire day! The only negative I can think of was that the range itself was rather hot, but it was easy enough to go to the lobby to cool down for a few moments whenever I needed to (that could just be me, though!). This is probably the range i feel the most comfortable going to. The staff is incredible and polite. Not sure of his name but the guy with long hair and a 1911 on his side is very knowledgeable. I feel like i know alot about shooting but I have learned things i didn't even consider by listening to what he was telling other customers when he was teaching them. Really inexpensive. Excellent customer service and really knowledgeable staff. The one bad thing, and its important: The stalls of the shooting lane do not go all the way up to the ceiling. My neighbors shells would eject, go up over the wall and land on my head while I was shooting. Needless to say this is a distraction that can become an annoyance. I've been here a few times in the last couple of months. It's pretty laid back, which is good if you want to stop in for some quick range time after work. During the week, it's practially deserted. On the weekends, it's like every other range in the Houston area - packed & stacked several deep. After a couple of worrisome experiences with other patrons, I've decided that I'll limit my visits to during the week. It gets too crowded on the weekends & with no real range officer keeping an eye on things, it's a little risky for me. Example: I was there with a friend one evening and a couple of guys a few lanes down were cowboying it up pretty good - walking off the firing line with loaded pistols, looking down the barrel of their pistols, waving their pistols at each other & muzzle-sweeping the rest of the patrons. Thankfully, these ya-hoos left after a few minutes. But I think that the folks behind the counter should have been more on top of things, especially since it wasn't really busy then. What I like is that it's basic & not a lot of bells & whistles. $8 gets you a basic target, shoot as long as you want, & as many guns as you've got. Once you've been there a couple of times, it even gets easier to find! read more

probably the best indoor range value in town. the lane prices are very reasonable (10-12 bucks) and their range ammo prices are in line with most independent gun stores. they are open until 10pm, so you can easily get off work, get some grub, and then go get some range time. staff has always been attentive and knowledgeable. great overall experience. read more

DON'T MISS THIS PLACE PLACE. Went to Marksman for the first time and, wow, it was a real pleasure. It was a weekday and there were lanes available without a wait. The staff was courteous and exceedingly helpful. I brought my own ammunition and they, unlike other ranges, do not require that you buy ammunition from them, but in checking the prices their prices for ammo are exceedingly fair and I won't have to buy ammo before going to the range since I can buy what I need there. read more

I came here when my primary gun range was closed for renovation. For what you get, the price is okay. It's $10 for unlimited shooting. I'll start with what was good. The staff was fantastic and very helpful. The lobby was great. Lot's of seating with vending machines and a TV. You get 2 free targets and hearing and eye protection. They also allow shotguns for a few dollars more. Only lead birdshot, no steel ammunition or slugs. Now with the not so good. The range is very crowded and poorly ventilated. It's also much louder than other gun ranges I've been to. It was so bad I had to step out and double up on my hearing protection. The range itself seems very rundown and in desperate need of a renovation. There is also no place to put your bags. If you're just bringing one pistol, it's probably fine. You just have to keep all of your stuff on the floor of your very small lane. I brought a shotgun and a 22LR rifle and my bags were in everyone's way. Other ranges I've been to have a few tables behind the lanes for you to put your bags on. Also they only allow pistol ammo, no centerfire rifle cartridges. It also seems to be in a terrible area of town. It seemed very seedy. I probably won't go back, unless I want to shoot birdshot. My favorite range, Best Shot Range in Friendswood, doesn't allow birdshot but is much better overall. It's 5 bucks more than this one, but it's worth it . I'd recommend going there instead. read more

Best pistol range in town hands down. They have the nicest employees and no one talks down to you or acts like they are too cool. Down home folks. Really nice place one you get inside. The outside looks a little less appealing for a woman approaching alone but I didn't actually encounter any issues. The staff were all very nice and helpful. They have a good stock of ammo and supplies. They offer CHL classes in a nice classroom setting on site and the teacher Jim is just wonderful. He really wants everyone to be educated and well prepared to deal with a bad situation if you find yourself in one. I love the way he explained how to operate a hand gun. I had been a little confused about the semi auto guns before and worried about recoil in a larger caliber since I have small hands. The first night Jim put a 9mm in my hands and had me shoot 50 rounds through it. It was surprisingly easier than I expected and recoil turned out not to be an issue with the gun he uses. After taking his introductory handgun course I also took the CHL course with him. The whole staff was very well prepared and had all our paperwork ready for us and made things as easy for us as they possibly could. The place can be crowded but they have a seating area with snacks if you have to wait for a lane. They also have observation windows so the non-shooters can watch from the front room. Also, Mondays are Ladies day so we get to shoot for free! So ladies if you want to learn to shoot and you want a friendly, non-boyfriend, non-relative to teach you the basics in an easy to understand and respectful way, Jim is the man to see. For $20 and a box of ammo you can take the basic handgun class and learn a lot. read more
