All of the bathrooms were new, nice and have hair dryers. The beds were comfortable. They provide parking for 2 cars which is nice. It was a short walk from our villa to the pool area. There is a covered section with tables and a cute little pool. Right behind the pool is the dock and a grill area. We will certainly be back!

Most importantly they are dog friendly ( no breed or weight restrictions) ; make sure your dog is well trained. We took our big boy and he felt like a prince with his complimentary Islander Bandana and fire hydrant poop bag dispenser; but he is a quiet boy and well behaved . The resort will not tolerate bad behaved dogs or barkers. So please don't ruin it for the rest of us that have well behaved, big dogs, get banned because others don't know how to control their own four legged children.

After checking in, everything else was great. We booked a cabana in the main pool which was large enough that we weren't really splashed or annoyed by little kids, and there were a lot there considering it was 4th of July weekend. The other pools were also nice, and just plain rectangular pools with lounge chairs around. They also have an over 21 pool which was pretty private and was great for an alternative to the large pool if the kids had been an issue. The resort has the nicest hotel store I've ever seen and they make fresh salads and sandwiches and had pastries and coffee and gelato along with other resort wear and items you may have forgotten. In that building you can book kayaks, padddle boards, jet skis, fishing etc. We wanted to do paddle boarding but the oars had melted from the heat, so we kayaked and melted ourselves from the heat but it was great and reasonably priced. There is beach access as well and the staff did a great job of cleaning the seaweed from the beach, however, the water was too warm to enjoy. Luckily the pools were perfect temps. Food and drinks were good, not crazy prices for a resort on July 4th. They had live music that was great and in multiple locations. Overall, we are 100% coming back for a day pass and will likely book a weekend at the hotel in the future.

The welcome champagne was such a nice touch, and we loved that they provided reusable water bottles to use throughout the resort, with filtered water stations available to refill them. It immediately gave the stay a thoughtful, elevated feel. We booked through Amex, which included a $60 daily breakfast credit and a $100 amenity credit. Those perks were definitely helpful, especially with the $30 daily parking charge and additional resort fees. The property has plenty of pools, lounge areas, and beach seating, and we never had trouble finding a place to relax during our stay. They also have a great little market on property, which ended up being one of our favorite spots for food. They have coffee, quick bites, treats, snacks, and a really nice selection of gifts and resort swag. We actually preferred grabbing food here over some of the other dining options. The spa is small but beautiful, peaceful, and very relaxing. There's a steam room and relaxation room, and it was a great addition to our stay. Unfortunately, where the resort fell short for us was the service. It seemed like some areas were either understaffed or certain staff members simply weren't the right fit for a hospitality-focused property. That said, there were a handful of bartenders who were fantastic, attentive, and really stood out. On our first day, we had lunch at the beach bar and sat directly at the bar. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive, so we were excited to return that evening and have dinner on the beach nearby. Unfortunately, the experience was completely different. The server working the beach area repeatedly passed our table without acknowledging us while continuing to serve the tables surrounding us. We eventually had to place our order directly at the bar. Even the bartender told us someone would come over to assist us at the beach, but when the server finally approached, she visibly rolled her eyes. It made us feel unwelcome and was especially disappointing because we were there celebrating our friend's bachelorette weekend. For a special occasion, we were hoping the service would add to the experience rather than take away from it. Overall, this is truly a beautiful Keys gem. The property itself, the thoughtful welcome, spacious rooms, pools, market, and spa were all highlights, and there were definitely parts of our stay that we loved. We didn't have a reservation. When we got there, nobody was at the check-in desk, but there was a phone to call. The gal was super friendly, took our information over the phone (she was running an errand) and told us which room was available and the key was inside. We even got a discount for being a walk-in customer! I think it was $89 for the night. The room was very clean, spacious and had a large "mini-fridge," a microwave, coffee pot and cranked a/c. There were even filled ice cube trays in the freezer. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. They looked like they would be stiff, but it was great! The tide was down so there was a bit of a stench from the rotting sea grass, but that's nothing the hotel can do anything about. The water was pretty brown... I'm sure it's fine, but I wouldn't swim in it. Not to worry though because there is a pool! We didn't go in the pool, but it looked nice and additional towels are available for it. They had a large hammock in excellent condition hanging between two palm trees. We spent some time hanging out there and enjoying the cool breeze. The rooms have chairs outside and there is a bar area (they don't serve anything, but you can hang out there) with a view of the water.

It's pretty rustic, it's not a resort and there's no bellhop or anyone to wait on you hand and foot. It's on island time. I don't think I ever saw the people who run it, but when we booked it over the phone she was pretty nice. There's nice shaded picnic tables in the back for a BBQ, a really nice pool, and hammocks to relax in. It's atlantic side so the wind blows up the seaweed and grass, so on lowtide it does stink a little but nothing too terrible, but during high tide it's beautiful. The water is warm too on low tide, we walked out to the docks and waded in the water and saw lots of horseshoe crabs. We didn't have any maintenence problems or anything, I can see what other reviewers mean where the owners may have been difficult to get a hold of since we never saw them around-but we liked the privacy. The whole inn probably has maybe 10 rooms, so theres not a lot of traffic and we almost always had the pools and hammocks to ourself-simply peace and quiet.

This is one of those cases where you just want the place to be better. The grounds are well-kept,…read moreincluding the pool, gardens and small beach. Staff is helpful. The units, though, are dismal. The furniture, carpeting and curtains are old and dingy, with dark green carpeting and burgundy curtains and furniture. Because of visibility from one unit into the others, you feel compelled to keep the curtains drawn for privacy, which makes rooms feel very dark. The units have a unique configuration. You walk upstairs to the kitchen and wrap-around porch level, then upstairs again via a spiral staircase to bedrooms, bathrooms and the sitting area. This was not a problem for us, but the group next door included a woman who'd just had foot surgery and she was struggling getting in and out of the unit. You will also need to be able to carry your suitcase up two flights of stairs. Our unit had an updated kitchen, but bathrooms really need updating as well. They are tiny and sad, with shelving and cabinets made of particle board. Location is fine, though you have to drive down a rather industrial road to get to the property. But that hodgepodge seems kind of indicative of the Keys.
