Visiting the keys, we had the pleasure to stay at David and Daphne Cook's vacation property. Conch Key Villas sports three units: Two down stairs and one upstairs unit. Located in the middle keys, it is a great location to see all the sites along the Keys. We took a trip down to Key west easily for the day and also headed up to Islamorada one day without trouble. We stayed in the North, downstairs unit and my goodness what a cute and cozy studio that was well appointed and very nicely decorated. Newer, updated appliances, (fridge, stone, microwave) and comfortable king bed rounded out the fully stoked kitchen cupboards. What is so nice is that you can cook in or go out and make a blend of whatever suits your fancy. With a plethora of good eats nearby, your Yelp app will easily point you in the right direction to a good meal. Walking out the back door you will see multiple docks to park your boat or a rental. Fish of all sizes swimming back in forth, playing tag under the docks and in the shadows. Fishing off the dock is easy and fruitful. (just don't forget to buy a license!) There's a dedicated bait freezer on property along with an industrial, stand-alone ice maker for your needs. On the south side of the property you'll find the comfortable and cool "bar" area sporting bar stools and a grill for cooking your catch, you can relax on one of the hammocks, play some darts or just sit and relax while soaking up some sun while your food cooks. All in all, we had a delightful stay. David was spot on with any communication and was easy to work with. I can give CKVs my highest recommendation and can assure that you will not be disappointed.

We had a really nice stay at Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada. The resort is beautiful, peaceful,…read moreand offers so many amenities that you do not really need to leave the property to have a great time. When we arrived, we were welcomed in the lobby with a glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. I also liked that valet parking is included in the hotel fee. You can simply drop off your car keys, and the staff will park your car for you. Self-parking is also available if you prefer. One of my favorite areas was the fireplace in the front ocean-view area. At night, there was live music, making it a wonderful place to sit, relax, and enjoy the view. The resort has a lot to offer, including oceanfront family pools, an adult relaxation pool, a swimming beach with loungers, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing rods and reels, and a beautiful 525-foot fishing pier for catch-and-release fishing. There is also a 9 hole executive golf course, tennis courts, pickleball courts, sports courts, and beach cruiser bicycles. Families can enjoy the kids' game room and Camp Cheeca, which provide fun activities for children. Adults can relax at the full-service spa, fitness center, sunrise yoga classes, and water aerobics. The resort also offers Wi-Fi, concierge service, in-room coffee and tea, bottled water, EV charging stations, and shuttle service within 2 miles. Some areas of the resort could use a little restoration. For example, the jacuzzi next to the family pool looked like it needed some maintenance. We also noticed a slight seaweed smell near the beach, but this may be normal during the high season and can depend on the weather and ocean conditions. On our first day, we ate at Nikai, the resort's sushi restaurant. Guests can sit outside and enjoy the view, which I really liked. There is also indoor seating, but the restaurant is fairly small. We ordered the Salmon Aburi, Dragon Roll, and Matsuri Roll. The outdoor seating was definitely my favorite because we could enjoy our food and drinks while taking in the beautiful surroundings. Cheeca Lodge has several dining options besides sushi. Atlantic's Edge offers oceanfront dining with beautiful views and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mia Cucina serves Italian style dishes in a relaxed setting. Tiki Bar and 25South are great places for drinks, snacks, and casual meals. Guests can also visit Morada Bay Beach Café for a relaxed beachside dining experience. Pierre's is another popular nearby restaurant, known for its elegant atmosphere and beautiful waterfront setting. At night, the front ocean view fireplace area with live music is a great place to enjoy a drink after dinner. The combination of the fire, ocean view, and music creates a very relaxing atmosphere. Having so many restaurants and dining choices nearby makes the resort very convenient. You can enjoy sushi, Italian food, casual drinks, beachside meals, or a more elegant dinner without traveling far. The resort has a beautiful Florida Keys atmosphere and offers plenty of activities for both adults and families. I especially liked having so many options in one place, including the beach, pools, water activities, fishing, golf, tennis, pickleball, spa, restaurants, live music, and our comfortable ocean-view room with a fireplace. It is a great place to relax, enjoy the water, dine, and have everything conveniently located at the resort. The champagne welcome, included valet parking, ocean views, fireplace, and live music were also nice extra touches. Although a few areas need a little restoration and there was a slight seaweed smell during the high season, these issues did not ruin our stay. I would definitely recommend Cheeca Lodge & Spa if you are planning a trip to the Florida Keys and want a resort with plenty of amenities, beautiful views, comfortable rooms, great dining options, and a relaxing atmosphere.

A special thank you to our concierge, Anne, who was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to recommend family-friendly activities both at the lodge and around Islamorada, and her recommendations made our trip even more memorable. One of the best things about Cheeca Lodge is that there's truly something for everyone. We loved that we could paddleboard, kayak, ride bikes, fish off the iconic pier, relax by one of the three beautiful oceanfront pools, or simply enjoy the incredible views. There's even complimentary golf, which we didn't have time to take advantage of this trip. Our lagoon-view room was beautiful, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. The entire property is stunning, secure with gated entry, and offers complimentary parking throughout your stay. We also had an amazing experience at Mia Cucina, the Italian restaurant on site. The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the staff. The chefs were so kind and welcoming to our kids, making dinner feel extra special. The complimentary 24-hour shuttle was another huge plus, making it easy to explore the area without worrying about driving. There's also a 24-hour convenience store right across the street, which came in handy more than once. Islamorada ended up being the perfect destination for our family. It has such a relaxed, laid-back feel while still offering plenty to do. If you're looking for a luxury resort where you can truly unwind, spend quality time with family, and enjoy exceptional hospitality, Cheeca Lodge is it. That level of care and accountability speaks volumes. This resort is truly a slice of paradise, beautiful oceanfront views, gorgeous rooms, bungalows facing the pristine private beach, multiple pools, lush tropical grounds, on-site dining, and endless activities that make it impossible to get bored. Whether you're lounging by the water, enjoying a cocktail at the bar, biking around the property, or just soaking in the peaceful island vibe, there's something for everyone. It's a slow pace ñ, relaxing feel; like you're on your own private island. Although we weren't able to kayak or fully enjoy the beach due to sargassum during our stay, it just gives us the perfect reason to come back and experience it all next time! But what made our stay unforgettable was the PEOPLE. A huge heartfelt thank you for superb customer service and for being such a kind, dog-loving resort family; it meant the world to us traveling with our pup. Angela, Dolce, Vanessa, Josh, William, your love for animals and leadership clearly shines through your incredible team; your attention to detail, warmth, and friendliness elevated our entire experience. Charlene, our incredible server at the Tides; you have a wonderful future ahead, thank you for all the love and attention you poured out to us and Bane! You didn't all just meet our expectations; you exceeded them. We truly could not have asked for a better way to celebrate our special day, and we are already looking forward to coming back. Food for thought; the yellowtail snapper fish sandwich at the Tides was incredible and so was the smash burger. The pina coladas were fantastic too. We weren't a fan of the Drift restaurant although it was pretty; the food at the tides bar was much better; think of elevated Bar food but freshly curated. Most importantly they are dog friendly ( no breed or weight restrictions) ; make sure your dog is well trained. We took our big boy and he felt like a prince with his complimentary Islander Bandana and fire hydrant poop bag dispenser; but he is a quiet boy and well behaved . The resort will not tolerate bad behaved dogs or barkers. So please don't ruin it for the rest of us that have well behaved, big dogs, get banned because others don't know how to control their own four legged children.

The rooms and bathrooms are surprisingly spacious, with multiple room configurations available. Many of the suites could easily accommodate a family of four or five. We weren't traveling as a family, though we were there for a romantic getaway, and it was the perfect setting for that as well. The property has three pools, giving everyone options. There's a huge main pool, a nice-sized adults-only pool (which was a bit of a walk from our room, but we still spent most of our pool time there), and a smaller pool right outside our room that we absolutely loved. We visited during one of the hottest weeks of the year, so the smaller pool felt more like a warm bath than a refreshing swim...but that's Florida in July! One nice features was the protected swimming area in the ocean. It was such a fun place to cool off, float, and enjoy the beautiful water. The tiki bar overlooking the ocean is gorgeous and has the perfect island vibe. There's also a small restaurant on the property that opens for dinner after 5:00 p.m., but pretty $$$ One unexpected bonus was the amazing Cuban restaurant directly across the street. We ate there several times during our stay (I'll be writing a separate review because it deserves one!). Another great attraction is the Turtle Hospital, which is literally next door. It's an inspiring place to visit and made it easy to enjoy an educational outing before heading back to relax at the resort. A few things to know before you go: * Pool service is available, but if you're expecting quick cabana-style service, be prepared to wait. * There is one small fitness center, and it's also where the ice machine is located. We were lucky because our room was nearby. * If you use a lot of ice, consider bringing a cooler and extra ice with you. Most rooms have refrigerators, but not all include a freezer, as an example ours did not. But lucked out on location *room 107 What truly set Tranquility Bay apart, however, was the staff. During a small medical issue I experienced, their response went far beyond simply following protocol. They were there immediately, but what impressed us even more was the genuine concern they showed afterward. There's a difference between employees who are simply protecting the company and those who truly care about their guests as people. The team at Tranquility Bay showed us they genuinely care, and we'll never forget that kindness. We also had an issue with my husband's motorcycle, and Jose was there right away to help. His willingness to jump in without hesitation is another example of the outstanding customer service we experienced throughout our stay. Beautiful property, spacious accommodations, relaxing pools, stunning ocean views, and a staff that treats you like family, that combination is what makes Tranquility Bay a place we'd happily recommend. Whether you're planning a family vacation or a romantic escape, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We didn't have a reservation. When we got there, nobody was at the check-in desk, but there was a phone to call. The gal was super friendly, took our information over the phone (she was running an errand) and told us which room was available and the key was inside. We even got a discount for being a walk-in customer! I think it was $89 for the night. The room was very clean, spacious and had a large "mini-fridge," a microwave, coffee pot and cranked a/c. There were even filled ice cube trays in the freezer. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. They looked like they would be stiff, but it was great! The tide was down so there was a bit of a stench from the rotting sea grass, but that's nothing the hotel can do anything about. The water was pretty brown... I'm sure it's fine, but I wouldn't swim in it. Not to worry though because there is a pool! We didn't go in the pool, but it looked nice and additional towels are available for it. They had a large hammock in excellent condition hanging between two palm trees. We spent some time hanging out there and enjoying the cool breeze. There's nice shaded picnic tables in the back for a BBQ, a really nice pool, and hammocks to relax in. It's atlantic side so the wind blows up the seaweed and grass, so on lowtide it does stink a little but nothing too terrible, but during high tide it's beautiful. The water is warm too on low tide, we walked out to the docks and waded in the water and saw lots of horseshoe crabs. We didn't have any maintenence problems or anything, I can see what other reviewers mean where the owners may have been difficult to get a hold of since we never saw them around-but we liked the privacy.
