I've never had a facial before and was eager to experience my first one, based off of a friends reference I gave Marlinda's a try and have to say my first facial experience with my aesthetician Madeline was amazing. Upon entering the business I noticed that it was clean, well decorated, and comfortable. I was kindly greeted and lead back to my room which was quiet and comfortable as well. Madeline introduced herself and went over what we where going to get into as well as commenting how much fun she was going to have to working on my face. This facial was apparently much needed :) I got comfortable on the table and Madeline started working on my face, her smooth and soft hands made the perfect experience that much better. Face mask, dermal infusion, steaming, blackhead extraction. Wow! I never knew what I have been missing out on. Throughout our hour long session I was so relaxed as she massaged my arms and neck between transitions that I nearly fell asleep! Upon finishing I now feel like a whole layer of dirty ness was just peeled from my face, I literally feel like I'm glowing! Marlinda's has since moved but their new location is petite and just as nice as the previous one. The treatment was thoroughly relaxing, as usual, and very welcomed. Another star here is Lorenz. I had a mommy brain moment and could not locate my wedding band after my treatment. I was in a panic and called Lorenz. He searched the room I was in and also called my massage therapist after she had left the spa to check with her. Thankfully, I found my ring at home where I left it (darn mommy brain!). I was very eager to visit Marlinda's since there were very few counties opening for wax service. This was my first time and I chose it because of its perfect review on Yelp. Before COVID, I had Brazilian wax as my normal routine and it has been three months I didn't do the wax. I totally understood it could be super painful since the hair has grown much longer. But I would never thought that I would have light bleeding after the service. I felt the aesthetician was a bit rough on treating my skin and I'm not sure if it's because of her skill or the wax quality. I only talked to him for a few minutes, but I felt like I've known him for years. Not only that he was able to get me in within 30 minutes which was great!! I found Marlinda's by accident online, when I was desperate to come to San Mateo County to get waxed since I can't do that at home in San Francisco because of Covid restrictions. I had no expectations at all, but whoa, I left with the best waxing job I've ever had, some great skincare recommendations, and two new friends! Marlinda and Mia are engaging and lovely. They are following Covid cleanliness protocol to a T, so you'll feel completely safe and unexposed. My waxing and tinting looks AMAZING (I was actually going there to fix a botched job someone at another salon did a week ago) and I feel like a new person. For my first B-wax, I was extremely nervous, but reading reviews on Yelp about Marlinda's being the closest thing to a painless waxing experience made me check it out. The place is very cute, well-maintained, and VERY clean, and the entire staff is SO nice! Mia was my aesthetician, and she was so friendly, walked me through the whole thing and made me feel, surprisingly, COMFORTABLE, about what was about to happen. The actual waxing-- well, yeah it hurt, but like someone said in an earlier review, she was holding up a conversation, keeping me engaged, and therefore distracting me from what the pain probably could've been. The best part was that it was over in less than 10 minutes, by the time it was done there was no residual pain, and i took a lollipop from their little stash (just like the dentist, right?) :) All in all a great experience, Mia really made it work, and the results were GREAT! i'll be going back again soon! read more

They are punctual, clean, and very quick with their service. The ladies in the shop are always pleasant, whether they are doing my service or not. I got a facial this past time. I really enjoyed the facial. Final step before leaving was to have SPF applied. As I am clearly not fair skinned the SPF that was initially chosen left an extremely obvious white cast. I was going to remove it as soon as I got back to my car. Fortunately - Mia noticed and was able to apply something else. So all that to say my feedback would be to have SPF options that cater to all skin tones to avoid applying products to someone's face unnecessarily. read more

I had gone to MARLINDA 4 years ago after years of overplucking my eyebrows that looked like bushes with missing branches. Wow, what a fantastic artist and I emphasize artist she is. She tattooed/tinted my brows with such perfection all hand designed to your specific face shape, size, contours. I could not imagine how this artist could make the brows so natural looking but enhanced and beautiful. Today I went back 4 years later mind you, as they needed touch-up/re-tattooing from the amount of time in the sun I spend. Well not to disappoint, MARLINDA re-did my brows and I am so happy, actually ecstatic with the results again. Aside from just being a really nice and pleasant person, is truly amazing in her field.
