I first contacted Diane four years ago, after having spent much time researching family law attorneys and comparing reviews, pricing and Attorney's personality & feedback on our initial call. After my  consultation and speaking with her a couple times after (still at no cost), I knew this is who I needed on my side. Her level of expertise, professionalism, devotion, responsiveness, honesty (Optimistic...yet realistic), invaluable advice and down-to-earth personality is like no other. She is so personable and easy to talk to.  Immediately felt comfortable discussing such unpleasant, intimate topics such are issues in your family. Non-judgmental, impartial and genuinely compassionate. I've worked with several attorneys on other matters in the past, and I can tell you that Diane has blown them all out of the water! I was referred to Diane and the Marmolejo Law Firm by a trusted attorney friend, which gave me confidence and the expectation that I was in good hands from the start. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I scheduled two phone consultations. The first was rescheduled at the last minute, which I understood and was willing to accommodate. However, the second consultation was missed entirely, and I never received a call or any notice explaining the absence. As a business owner, my time is valuable. I blocked off part of my schedule specifically for these consultations and was expecting a call. While I understand that things can come up, clear communication and respect for a client's time are important, especially when someone is seeking legal guidance. I was genuinely looking forward to speaking with Diane and exploring whether the firm would be a good fit, but after two missed opportunities to connect, I was left disappointed. Many of us don't have our actual photo or our names on public platforms for fear of retribution from attorneys like her. We're totally within our right to give honest feedback while maintaining our privacy. She was my attorney, she has a very crackly voice where she always sounds sick (her clients will know her voice) & has a very modern, upscale-looking office. She's an unethical attorney who wants all your money but will not advocate for you. I will be reporting her to the bar based on her unprofessional responses. // The comment from the attorney is absolutely false. It's amazing how, without any evidence, she claims that the review is from a competitor. No, the review is from someone who has had a much better attorney since her (and others), one who actually cares about her clients, actually looks at details, doesn't complain about you reaching out to her and about doing her job, doesn't do the bare minimum and then send you the big bills. She is not a good lawyer. Are these reviews even real!!?? Don't believe them one bit like I did!! I selected Diane based on all of her "exceptional" reviews of how great she is and how helpful she was and most of all HOW INEXPENSIVE her fees were for the service received. It all is a crock of bullshit!! Upfront Diane knew my financial situation and obviously understood I needed her to bring my cheating husband to justice. After our consult I hesitated to pay a $5k retainer clearly because it was NOT IN MY BUDGET for a soon to be single parent once the divorce settled... or sooner as divorces ALWAYS take a messy turn. I ended up having to split the retainer over two credit cards just to get her to advise me on anything. Prior to the retainer all I got was the typical "well we can definitely make sure we get you everything you deserve" affirmations. Over a period of months I had to email Diane (because she's literally never available via phone)three times to ask what was the status of the process; once I had to remind her that it had been over 30 days and there was no response from the other party. She completely failed me as my representation: she sent me to court on my own alleging "the process is really simple and I'd hate to have to bill you for something you can do yourself." Turns out Diane DID need to appear in court with me!! When I called to inform her of what was happening she ASKED me "do you want me to come"? By the time she arrived (when we spoke she said she wasn't dressed for court and had to go home and get ready) it was too late for anything to happen and my husband and his attorney basically made us eat shit and look like idiots in the galley of the courthouse. They took full advantage of the opportunity to gloat. Needless to say after that I no longer wanted her representation and even though she admitted she fucked up I still got stuck paying $4k FOR EMAILS to communicate with her and a few forms to be filed. Another attorney witnessed me crying my eyes out and advised me to seek a full refund or proceed with a bar complaint!! $4k for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY!! read more

I've seen some extreme responses on Yelp, but if you look at my Yelp reviews....I call it like it is. I have no problem calling a 1 star just that! I had called 8 attorneys prior to selecting Diane based on price, service and "vibe". I liked Diane and always felt comfortable and that she was on my side. Also, Diane went out of her way to ping other attorneys on subjects outside of her AOC (area of competence), which was very nice of her. Based on my experience...an easy 5 stars is warranted. It may be strange to write a review of your opposing counsel's attorney. Diane represents the father of my children in a paternity order. It's been ongoing for a few months, and will likely continue a good while longer. At first, I was really angry that my ex opened this order as I felt our issues would be better resolved through mediation as opposed to a litigious, adversarial court case. In an email I attacked Diane's professionalism, her law school, etc. I attacked her in a way that didn't reflect my values. I was angry and afraid that the court process would create an agreement that was not in my children's best interests. I was scared that I was already burdened with the responsibilities of being a single mom and I'd need to make time for this in an already taxed schedule. I attacked her personally, and not only has she not held that against me, she's actually been really fair, kind and understanding to my perspective as well. Diane has shown such fairness at every turn in this case. I really believe that she cares, and her kindness knows no bounds. At one point in our setting up visitations, we did not have a weekend nanny to help my ex with the children (it's complex because my ex lives abroad). She offered to help him find him nannies and introduce him to HER nanny to see if it could be a good fit. It's one of many ways I feel that Diane has gone above and beyond to create an agreement in my children's best interests. I would recommend her highly. She cares and will go the extra mile. read more

Diane is smart and capable, and she will do what's necessary (and doesn't charge for quick initial consults, which is great) but she seems overextended to the point that she can't always work on your case or give it the focus that it needs, especially at critical points. Maybe best to hire her when she's not so busy. read more

I came to Diane to help me with my pre-nup, if you've ever had to deal with one of these having a good attorney that is willing to listen and understand your situation is key. It was great to have someone who didn't spend their time catastrophizing an already difficult situation. Diane took the time to listen and advise me based on my / our specific situation to ensure it made sense and was a fair as possible for both parties.... which with pre-nuptial agreements is not easy. What I ended up with was a pre-nup which made sense and once delivered to my fiancé's attorney was almost immediately acceptable (which is the best you can expect). I highly recommend Diane and although the cost was a little more than quoted elsewhere you do get what you pay for and she did a great job. read more
