They use fun phrases like, "Let's check your ears for bunny rabbits and butterflies," which might sound simple, but it truly makes a huge difference. My child, who is usually shy around doctors, actually opened up and even giggled during the visit. On top of that, they gave out stickers and toys to keep the kids calm and happy. Appointment Confirmed -- No Doctor Available- I scheduled an appointment at Marque Urgent Care because I was extremely sick and needed care. I drove to the clinic expecting to be seen, only to be told when I arrived that there was no doctor in the building and that I might be seen hours later. So their system allows patients to schedule appointments even when no provider is available. After leaving, I received a text saying I had "missed" my appointment. I replied explaining that I had been there but could not be seen because there was no doctor. Then the next day they sent another automated message reminding me to reschedule because "my health is important." Their automated systems clearly do not match what is actually happening at the clinic. Patients should not be allowed to book appointments that the clinic cannot fulfill, and they should not be told they missed an appointment when the clinic had no provider available. This was a frustrating experience and a major breakdown in scheduling and communication. Updated to the response from the clinic below: Thank you for responding, but your reply still does not answer the main questions I raised. I understand you are saying this was caused by an unexpected provider call-out. However, that does not explain the core failure. My questions were not simply why the provider was absent. My questions were: Why was I still allowed to keep or appear for a scheduled appointment if no provider was available? When did your clinic know the provider would not be there? Why was I not contacted before I drove in, especially given that I was very sick and coming in specifically for care? Why was I later marked as though I had "missed" my appointment when I physically showed up and your clinic could not see me? What specific operational or system changes are being made so patients are not allowed to book or keep appointments that your clinic cannot actually fulfill? Your response says you will "discuss this internally," but that is still very vague. I am not looking for a general apology or a broad statement that this was rare. I am asking for a clear explanation of how this happened and what exact corrective action will be taken. You also mentioned virtual care technology and nearby locations, but those options were not communicated to me in a way that prevented me from wasting my time and money driving to the clinic while sick. That is the issue. At this point, I would like direct answers to the following: At what point did the clinic know there would be no provider available? Why was I not notified before arrival? I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this office. I went in specifically because I had an ear infection and was hoping to have it properly evaluated and treated. Unfortunately, my ear infection was not adequately addressed during my visit, and my symptoms actually became worse afterward. Two days later, I called the office to let them know that my condition had worsened and that I still needed treatment. Instead of addressing the issue or prescribing the ear drops that were the reason I initially went in, I was told that I would need to pay for another visit. I find this incredibly frustrating and unacceptable. I had already paid for an appointment to have my ear infection evaluated, and when the problem was not properly treated and became worse, I expected the office to help resolve the issue--not require me to pay for another appointment. This Marque Urgent Care location is an absolute disgrace. I've brought my sick child here multiple times, and every visit has been a disaster. They don't respect patient order at all -- people with no appointment are taken ahead of everyone. Then they stick you in a room and abandon you. Our last visit was the breaking point: 45 minutes in the lobby, then over 2 hours in a room while my child cried in pain, and not a single staff member checked on us. When we asked when the doctor would come, the staff gave rude, dismissive answers. It was clear they simply didn't care. We finally left and drove to the Lake Forest location, which was everything this place is not -- professional, respectful, and actually caring. 1 star for giving out false information for arriving and have out-of-date hours listed on their website, 4 stars for the actual person who conducted COVID tests for my boys. I had to get COVID tests for my infant and toddler before sending them back to school, and Marque Urgent Care was the closest place to me that does pediatric testing. We called to get more information and were told to come in around 4:30pm on a Thursday, which we did. When we got there, we were told that their testing ended at 3pm. As of this review, their website clearly states that they do testing daily from 12:30pm-5pm. We were then told to come the next day at 10:45am. Again, their website shows they start testing at 12:30pm. I double-checked with them, letting them know that I've got 2 kids and I have to coordinate schedules and whatnot. They said yes, come at 10:45am - we'll squeeze you in at 11am. The next day, I call one more time to make sure. The person helping me (I think her name is Kristine [sp?]) confirmed that we should come for am 11am swab and that she's the only one working and will remember and come out. Great! So we arrive at 10:45am for an 11am swab. By the way, we were told that this is a drive-thru swab, which it isn't. Anyway, we arrive and there's a line for COVID testing. We try flagging down Kristine. When we finally do, she said testing doesn't start until 11:30am. I told her that I just spoke with her, but she doesn't listen. We stand in line and it turns out that everyone else was told the same thing. Then another guy comes and tells us that testing doesn't start until 12pm. But the website says 12:30pm, we were told 11am, then 11:30am - when does it start?!? An hour and a half later, with an infant who is hungry and a toddler who's REALLY restless, the guy finally comes out to start swabbing. We're done in 10sec. He's really nice about it. I'm still really upset and confused about what's so hard about getting times right, staying consistent with the website (or changing the website...) and why lie? read more

So I got bit by a dog at work ( I work at an animal facility) and came in after my work closed. Set an appointment and waited 30 min after my appointment time, they had me fill out a dog bite form. The employee said he had to call his manager. I told him I'm more than willing to just pay cash for it. I know I can just bring the receipt in to my work. His manager told him it has to be workers comp. I told him I will just pay cash for everything. He said he couldn't do that. So I had to leave with an infection in my arm and no treatment. They have CHOC pediatricians here which is an amazing option after hours and on weekends. We met Dr Khatibi today who saw our daughter. I got there 5 minutes before they opened so my son could be one of the first patients seen. We got right in which is the only thing that was positive. We were in a hurry because we had a funeral to get to. I specifically told the front desk gal do NOT send the prescription to CVS; only send it to so and so pharmacy. I drive to that pharmacy to be told they don't have the prescription. So I had to drive all the way back to Marque where the gal confirmed she sent it to CVS. Mind. Blown. Why??? She gave no apology and even rolled her eyes at me. I had no time at the point so I had to pay out of pocket at CVS. The customer service was so bad. Avoid this urgent care if possible, I've had 3/3 bad experiences here. Most recently scheduled a pre op EKG, when scheduling they asked if I had the same insurance. I have a great PPO. When I arrived they said they wouldn't bill my insurance for an EKG and I had to pay cash. I said that's fine I just need a super bill to submit to my Insurance. But they won't even give me a super bill which is ridiculous. I would have done it elsewhere but it's getting close to my procedure date. It feels like they did this on purpose. read more

The regular physician we saw last September was wonderful, but our experience with the pediatrician, Dr. LOURDES BROWN yesterday was TERRIBLE she was incredibly rude to me and shamed me for my kids having allergy related coughs. She prescribed nothing my insurance covers and also the wrong sizes for their inhaler extenders. Over the weekend, I took my daughter in for suspicion of pink eye and an ear infection. We made an appointment and saw a PA whom told us that her ear appears red however she does not need an antibiotic and her eye was viral pink eye and no need for medicine there too. I explained my concerns and that I disagree with not issuing an antibiotic for the pink eye and ear infection but the PA simply told me to see the pediatrician as there is nothing they can do. Two days later, we saw our pediatrician and my daughter has pink eye (both eyes now), double ear infection and pneumonia. The pediatrician was concerned that she was not treated at urgent care. Office is clean and hospitable, I recommend making an appointment. Only took a few hours from making an appointment to be seen and they texted me so I didn't have to stay in the waiting room. Went to teledoc before making my appointment and I'm sorry I did because they only prescribed me over the counter meds for something that needed antibiotics. Doctor at Marque assessed all my concerns and explained everything very clearly. Was given a very, very strong antibiotic by a PA which has caused 2 very serious c diff infections and 6 months of misery, now needing a surgery to correct this snowball effect, all caused by an antibiotic. read more

The 2-star review is a reflection of the front office staff. I generally prefer this urgent care over others I've been to in this area. The PA's are knowledgeable and caring. My most recent interaction with this office was more than disappointing due to the front office staff. This particular Marque MV office only sees adult patients before 4pm. Pediatric patients are then seen after 4. Knowing this, I called to confirm before driving a sick family member there to make sure they would be able to be seen. I was told that "Yes, we see adult patients until 4pm," with no other details. It was a rushed call with the receptionist hurrying to hang up. When we arrived BEFORE 4pm, we were immediately asked if we had a reservation (I was not aware they even offered reservations as this was not mentioned when I called). Since we did not, we were told that we would have to go to another Marque office miles away to be seen. I explained that I had spoken to someone prior to arriving and described the severity of my family member's illness - but they still would not accommodate us. We had to drive to a different Urgent care provider while my sick family member was experiencing a spiking fever and high blood pressure. I have always thought that urgent care offices are walk- ins for "urgent care". If we needed to make a reservation before coming in, I would have appreciated to be advised of that + instructed how to do so when I called less than an hour prior and spoke to a representative in their office. read more

I knew I was battling an infection and went in the early morning before my doctor's office was open. They checked me in at the front door and took temperature. Then I went inside and waited about 10 minutes. The decor is very bold and cheery and is a very clean facility. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. The doctor gave me a prescription to fill and said she would call me if I needed another type of antibiotic to clear this infection. She called a few days later which I so appreciate! I came in here knowing my daughter had a bladder infection. They lost her urine and didn't tell me for over a week after calling dozens of times without a call back. Meanwhile my daughter is walking around with a UTI for weeks! She ended up getting a fever and throwing up due to this office's neglect. Do not come here for their lab, these will lose your specimen and try to give you a free rapid test to "make up" for their mistake. I knew my daughter had a uti and the doctor completely turned me away and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. They took a urine sample, wrote a script for antibiotic stating it's most likely a UTI, charged me $145 and sent us home. The next day my daughter was admitted to choc ICU in septic shock with pneumonia and fluid in the entire left lung requiring an invasive surgery. Everything you could ask for in an urgent care! Quick, clean, organized, friendly, and efficient! I called this morning at 11:30am to ask if they do sports physicals. The lady that answered the phone was polite and knowledgeable. She told me it was $50 out the door and $25 of the $50 went to Mission Viejo High School (my kid's school)! Bonus! I asked if I should just walk in or schedule. She said it would be faster if I scheduled. They had an appointment for 12:30pm. I took it. My daughter and I went there at 12:28pm. they walked us in at 12:30pm. The place was super clean, AC was on full blast, and everybody wore masks (fully covering mouth and nose!!!). I asked if I should wait outside (since I was worried about covid exposure inside) but I was reassured that no people experiencing Covid symptoms were allowed into the building (thankfully!). First a nurse took care of my daughter's vitals, then the practitioner walked in. Both were very friendly, caring, and knew what they were doing. This was the most thorough physical I had witnessed! Loved it! The doc did not miss anything! We were in and out in about 30 mins, check up, paperwork, and all! I am not sure what those other reviewers are complaining about but my experience was wonderful! I told the guy in front that this was my best experience in an urgent care ever and he was surprised, "Oh? Even on such a busy day?! We have about 20 people scheduled!" Bad choice, the doctor that we saw is so rude the staff is so rude. I cannot believe the doctor is even allowed to practice medicine the way she talks to people. This place is amazing. The care we received right when we walk through the door was clean comfortable and awesome. My daughter was running a high grade fever going on the fourth day ,and the ear infection that was not caught at our primary pediatric physician. I took her to urgent care here cause they are open on Sundays and Choc related...and the amazing Physician Erin was able to catch an inner ear infection that was causing the high grade fever. I am forever grateful for this place for the attention to detail and care . If you are looking into this clinic for their pediatric doctor on staff, I would look elsewhere. To echo the other reviews about the pediatric doctor, this individual treated me like I was crazy and couldn't understand why I came in. I called my pediatrician due to my three-month-old daughter having congestion/stuffed nose, breathing more rapidly, and having O2 levels drop into the high 80s/low 90s when she is lying down/sleeping. My pediatrician and the nurse line recommended I take her in because those levels are too low for a baby. This doctor said high 80s is normal for a baby and that they trained at choc, which is what is taught. Clearly, that information is not correct. When asked what we could do to help my daughter when her O2 drops, the doctor recommended not monitoring her o2...... read more

I brought my 5 month old baby here due to cough/congestion. The front office people were unfriendly and left me standing outside in the cold with my baby with absolutely no acknowledgment. They finally came out to grab my intake paperwork and didn't even greet me or tell me what the next steps would be. They came back out and tested her for covid before they would let us in and she tested positive. Because she was positive, we weren't allowed to come in. We had to wait for a phone call from the doctor with instructions. They didn't offer to do a physical exam or check her oxygen levels. The doctor called me back hours later and told me I should give her honey and put vaporub on her chest. Honey for a 5 month old?? That is potentially deadly advice! Thankfully this is my fourth baby and I know better, but what if I was a first time mom and just trusted this doctors advice? I immediately brought my baby to her pediatrician and they happily had us come in for a physical exam in their office. Billing service are rude. I gave them my ID and new insurance card which they took a copy of when I went to urgent care. A week later I received a payment for $600. They never processed it with my insurance. Spoke to someone in the billing department and I tried telling her that they took a copy of my new insurance. She kept saying that my insurance is expired. Omg this place is the best!! PA Erin called me herself about a lab sample results they just received back. When discussing the results she wasn't having to go through notes to remember what we were discussing. She was up to date and remembered my issue (which means they probably take very thorough notes which I love). Then I had a question about my bug bites which I had been treated for last month. She remembered that as well and reminded me of the big bite prevention plan we had discussed before. I'm so so appreciative of the patience and care I receive here. Highly recommend. I was here visiting from Michigan and brought poison Ivy with me. The first appointment was fantastic! The follow up not so much. 1:15 appointment Text at around 12:30 that the we're running behind 21 minutes. Arrive at 1:30 and placed in exam room. 2:00 decided to leave after not seeing anyone. However, I could hear the man and child in the room next to mine and they were being attended to. He walked in behind me and said his child wasn't acting right. No fever, no choking, no sunburn.
