Being a vegetarian, I ordered the Falafel pita. Standard pita - it comes with four falafels, sliced tomatoes, lettuce, tzatziki sauce, and pickles. The plate comes with a side of fries. It tastes good. The fries have that classic crunchy texture to it. This makes the fries yummier. The wait time ends up being 5 minutes. Not too bad as the many customers tend to be locale businesses and students who study around the area. Good for quick eats and for students who want to take a break from classes. read more

Mediocre halal food. They have chicken and lamb platters as well as pizza. The place has a lot of seedy people coming in and out to use the bathroom or just sitting around. Not their fault though since they try to get those people to leave. The bathroom is questionable. The door is hard to close/lock, it's a bit dirty, and thereis no soap. Small place in Ithaca Commons that can go easily unnoticed. I got the Lamb Shawarma Over Rice Plate which came with rice, lamb chunks, lettuce, and tomatoes all smothered in ranch sauce. The flavors were decently balanced in which the rice and lamb were both individually seasoned well. However, it was very oily, and the ranch made the entire dish even heavier. The lamb had a spongey texture to it as well. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't come here again. read more

Food and service were great. Adil was very personable. We got pizza and calzones. Second time coming here.

We arrived in Ithaca around 9pm. Most places were ready to close. We went to Marrakech and ordered a cheeseburger and a chicken over rice. It was freshly made and cooked perfectly. On our way back to Philly we got some good food for the road, a Buffalo chicken calzone and a Philly cheese steak. Both were awesome If we are ever in Ithaca, we will definitely be back to grab a bite read more

As soon as we walked in the guy at the register kept staring at the clock and I asked him if he was closed and he said he closed at 7:45 (we arrived at 7:20) and he said if we ordered, he'd pack it to go.. fine.. we got back to our hotel and all of our orders were wrong!! A hidden gem in Ithaca that's more than just great pizza. From the outside (and inside) it looks like just another pizza place for college kids but go inside and meet the Owner who is from Morocco and knows his food. Falafel is truly outstanding as is the sauce it comes with as an appetizer. We ordered a second Falafel appetizer portion as it disappeared quickly. Stuffed Grape Leaves and Chicken Shawarma are fresh with a flavorful Moroccan take on them I have not had before. Top it off with homemade Baklava. I didn't have a chance to try the cheesesteak but they look great. The Owner loves to talk with his customers as does the kitchen staff. I would give this review a fourth star if the interior and exterior of the place was updated. read more

Not only is this pizza as close to what a NYC slice is, I know pizza places in BK/Manhattan that wish they could make their pizza so thing and crispy. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma platter this evening, complete with salad and rice, (You can get fries should you choose) and the weight of the dinner tin felt heavy in my backpack! Kamal, I'm presuming the owner, is not only incredibly generous, but warm and friendly, but he also knows how to make his food proper, clean, delicious, and I'm having trouble finishing this review bc I can't stop stuffing my face with shawarma! I can only speak to the quality of pizza (I only order when I know Kamal is working), because I haven't ordered anything else from Marrakech. I only get "pick up" orders, so I can only rate the restaurant based on my limited experience with picking up my pizza order on a weekly basis. As I've mentioned, I only order when I know Kamal is working. He is wonderful, with a relaxed sense of urgency because he seems to take his work seriously but never wants to create a tense environment in the restaurant itself. I generally have strong preferences for certain coloring of the crust and I much prefer the balance of sweetness of their sauce/cheese to the savory...Kamal always follows directions precisely when I ask for the pizza in a certain way, so I know he truly takes the time and effort to fulfill the order to my satisfaction. I much prefer him after finding that many others in the industry just show up to throw cheese and sauce on dough and shove it in the oven on a mass production level for college students. When I moved to Ithaca, I came from the New Jersey/NYC area where good quality pizza is not very hard to find. When I arrived in Ithaca and found Marrakech, I was happy to find a consistent quality product in their pizza ingredients. Again, I cannot speak for the in-restaurant service/ambiance, because I generally only get "pick up." I highly recommend working with Kamal when ordering food. read more

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Ithaca!! It has been for a while because the food is delicious, but my recent experience with them tipped it over the edge. Recently, I order from this restaurant on grubhub, and the order arrived completely incorrect (note it was certainly an error from grubhub and/or the driver). I called the restaurant, and the owner/manager said that it was close to closing, but he would send a new meal via car the next day (free of charge). I explained that I would not be in town the next day, and he said that if I came by the restaurant that evening, he would give me a brand new order without me returning the old one free of charge. I walked over, and the owner/manager had the handmade order for me READY TO GO --- EXACTLY how I requested --- and threw in extra items for the inconvenience. I offered to tip him, and he profusely declined. They care about the customers here! read more
