Stayed here in Oct 2017 for work and had a bad experience with customer service from front desk staff which I wrote a honest review about on Yelp and Facebook. The hotel's manager did call to apologize and agreed it was an unfortunate experience. Once again I return for work and was booked for this hotel. Unfortunately I am having yet another unpleasant stay with this place. Arrived last night 04/22/2018 and was greeted by a rather nonchalant and indifferent staff at the front desk for check-in. This morning on 04/23/2018 at approximately 9:30-10am, housekeeping came knocking at my door asking to clean my room. I asked the housekeeper nicely to allow me a few minutes to get ready for work and to kindly return to clean the room in 10-15 minutes when I am out. After a long day of work, I returned approximately 10:40pm to the hotel to find my room with no housekeeping done whatsoever. The sheets dirty, no clean towels/washcloths, no clean or replaced coffee cups, nothing done! I called the front desk informing them there must have been a misunderstanding as my room was not cleaned at all today. Without any form of apology I was then told by front desk clerk, someone will be coming up shortly to clean the room. 5 minutes later I was called back from the front desk saying NO HOUSEKEEPING staff is available at the moment and the most they can do is give me a few clean towels. The front desk clerk never even bother to apologize it seem it was more of a "take it or leave it" situation. Once again I am reminded why I would never stay here by choice or recommend this place. This has to be the worst and most unapologetic poor service I have received. The staff here really needs to understand that, a guest being Caucasian or African American should have nooooo impact on how one is treated and served. This place charges $140/night and you have to fight for a king bed instead of double bed room (a battle I decided is not worst it). I am left with no choice but to make these experiences with the Marriott Albany location be known publicly as I have had very pleasant stay at other Marriott locations both for work and leisure and was never left to feel so unwelcome and unappreciated as a guest. read more

I just finished a 2 night business stay at this property and was extremely satisfied. My stay began with an invite to their manager's happy hour. My business companion and I had a great time catching up and planning for our meeting the following day. The drinks flowed and there was plenty of warm and cold snacks for us. I believe we met every Mgr on the property and they were beyond friendly. My room was standard with a nice big screen TV and a comfortable bed. The concierge lounge was well equipped and again a friendly competent staff took care of us for breakfast and afternoon snacks. Their fitness center is great with plenty of aerobic gear, free weights, and machines. Best of all everything worked and it was clean!!! As others have mentioned this Marriott goes above and beyond to assist you during your stay. The fact that it's 5 minutes from ALB is a bonus. Lastly it sits right behind the Reel Seafood restaurant. If you like seafood go there it's great!! When I return to Albany I will surely stay here. read more

I have stayed at this hotel more than once. They often host conferences. The hotel is comfortable and the room was spacious. There is a restaurant in the lobby if you don't want to look for a place to grab food. There isn't much around to walk to. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a mall nearby if you want to shop or grab a meal. You'll have to drive a bit though. read more

I came here for a workshop so I can't speak to the rooms. But the room we were in for our workshop was nice, it was large and held a lot of people. They provided us a nice breakfast with lots of coffee, left water on our tables, and pens with their logo which of course made it into my bag. :) . We were able to preorder lunch from the hotel restaurant when we checked into our workshop which was great. At lunch all we had to do was walk over to the restaurant and our orders came out quickly. They also had free parking which is always a plus. My only minus was that the AC was super cold. Which is really not a problem because I hate being hot, but it doesn't feel great when your sitting at a table for 7 hours. Overall it was a good experience. read more

We are Marriott Platinum Members and had a very poor experience a few weekends ago at this Albany hotel. Had to wait after our check in time for our room even though we were told that, because we were platinum members, it would be only a few minutes to wait. They said they just needed to inspect the room. 30 minutes later my fiancé checked on the status of the room with the front desk and they seemed to have forgotten about us because a room magically became immediately available. However it was with 2 double beds, not a king. We asked for a king and they said there was nothing they could do. Putting a couple in two full beds, a couple who stays at Marriotts all over the country and is very loyal to the brand, is a bit absurd. The room was out dated and luckily we only spent 8 hours in there while we were sleeping. We both remarked on our way out that we will never stay there again. It's a huge hotel on a busy road with lots of attractions but there are better Marriott chains in Albany that we will stay in next time. read more

This was my second time staying here. I was in Albany for a conference, so this hotel made sense. The location was convenient and parking was free. The service was great and the rooms were nice. The concierge lounge was meh, but the overall service was great, which made up for the limited options. read more

I was here for a fundraiser dinner. The fixed menu was roasted chicken and vegetables. The tables were crowded with 10 plates per table (not sure if that was the Marriott's decision or the charity's choice), and salads and desserts were set out before seating. The salad was skimpy but tasted fine, and they used heirloom cherry tomatoes on some (but not all) plates. The entrees arrived and it was actually a small chicken breast, 3 carrots, 3 asparagus spears, some potatoes, and onion gravy. The carrots were so under-cooked that the butter knives had trouble getting through them. The potatoes were lukewarm and unremarkable. The chicken was bathed in a gravy that was thick, tasted packaged, and was extremely salty. The chicken was okay but nothing special. The rolls were delivered after the entrees arrived and they were big and diamond shaped, and looked great. However, they were so tough/hard to chew that they couldn't be split to butter, and they had to be really chomped to bite into. Not a good choice for a dress-up meal. All in all, not a great showing by the Marriott. They might not have had the opportunity to pick the menu but they did serve hard rolls, under-cooked vegetables, room temperature potatoes, and salty gravy. I am unimpressed. read more

I had a pleasant stay during an overnight work trip. Some pros - my mobile key actually worked to open the room door - this never happens, and well meant I didn't have to stand in line or talk to anyone . The room was nicely appointed, updated with many usb outlets, a smart TV, and sofa. Some downsides are that the shower was oddly setup, small and difficult to access without getting your hair wet, the room service menu had 2 vegetarian dinner options, cheese nachos and pizza. The Market restaurant in the lobby has the same menu as room service, but the staff were able to have the chef custom make a dish, and offered to return the dish when it wasn't right without me asking. Given the alternatives for nicer Marriott hotels in the area is limited, this is absolutely a go to and I will stay again. However compared to other Marriotts I have stayed at this was a 3-4 star experience. read more

Terrible, racist employees ! Beyond shocked at the way i was treated at this establishment. Me & a friend went up to the Albany Marriott to attend an open interview session with another company. Once inside we stopped at the computer room to print out our resumes due to the fact that we didn't have enough time to stop at a library to print them out. We were told by someone else that there was some type of charge. We stepped back out into the lobby to confirm with the front desk, she stated "Yes, there's a charge, it's not free" and then put her head back down. We went to the ballroom where the interviews are being held at and we picked up paperwork then went back to the computer room to pay the fee and get our resumes. My card was charged $30 just to use and print something off of the computer. Not one sign posted saying there would be a charge or the amount of the charge. Upon getting on the computer it states there would be a 85 cent charge, not $30. We noticed the same Caucasian man from earlier in the room who told us there would be a fee now using the computer with a access code to get on at no charge. When i addressed the women at the front desk about my card being overcharge she did not even apologize, had no type of understanding or care for the situation just simply shoed me off saying "Call the support number on the computer" so then i asked why the other guy was given a code to use it for free and he was attending the same interview i was ? Why was he given free access and we weren't ? They could provide No explanation for this at all ! Called corporate to make a complaint and the woman on the other end basically tried to question my story saying "How did i know that he didn't have a platinum card to get on for free" We know because he was the same guy who complained to us about there being a charge ! She kept cutting me off and would not let me speak ! At some point and time when we left to go to the ballroom he went back to the front desk and was given a code to use. Bottom line I felt like there was some type of discrimination and i feel like people need to be aware upfront of what fees your going to be charging ! Your employees should be trained more on how to be more sympathetic to customers and more understanding. Large hotel. This place is a maze of rooms, meeting venues etc. 10 minute walk to your car. If you don't need this type of venue don't say here. My fault for not investigating before I booked. The only thing complimentary is electricity and water. Rooms were nice, lobby was nice. This place is designed to keep you here and drain your wallet. Zero hot water at 5:30a for shower. A/C at 65 barely cooled the room. Lobby bar will rob you $22 for a glass of wine. I didn't pay that in LA or Manhattan. Breakfast will run close to $30 a person. Not surprisingly restaurant was empty. Plenty of other hotels in area to choose from. If you like being robbed of your money stay here. If not look elsewhere. This is a typical business practice of keep upping the prices as long as people will pay. read more

I scored a good deal on the Albany Marriott and was just here for a quick sleep on the road. The hotel is rather large with a combined conference center and is located near the airport and highway. This is a full service Marriott with a bar and restaurant and room service. The hotel is rather old and in need of some remodeling, but the bed was wonderful. Even packed with a youth lacrosse event, the staff was very friendly and accommodating for this weary traveler. Be careful of the lobby since wet people often scurry from the indoor pool to the elevator banks leaving puddles all over. The best parking is in the garage near the conference center, and there are several restaurants in the area. Not the best, but still a solid option for a quick rest. read more

This rating is for banquet only. I was here for a wedding. Not sure about the number, but the layout was nice because the back tables weren't a mile away from everyone else. Plenty of staff and they did cater to you. Since it was lent I ordered the vegetarian dinner. I laughed when the waitress waved a steak under my nose and asked if I was having the steak or the chicken. It smelled great but the word was that it had some grizzle. Not unexpected for banquet food. My broiled veggies with melted goat cheese, however was fabulous. Since it was a special order it was probably handled better. My first visit to Albany and first stay at this Marriott. Other reviewers are mostly correct on all counts: comfy beds, outdated and in places shoddy (not unclean, just worn-out) guestrooms and hallways, huge, bright and inviting lobby/lounge/restaurant areas, and top-notch staff completely focused on customer service. My notes: The beds. Not to take anything away from this property, but I don't exactly get why so many reviewers here are raving about them--ALL full-service Marriott hotels have the same great bedding as this place. I have to assume many reviewers before me were experiencing this for the first time, but as a Rewards Platinum member who spends nearly every week of the year sleeping in a Marriott property, these beds are par for the course and nothing new. I had some glitches with my stay, mostly technological stuff. Internet speeds, both wired and wireless are pretty poor--I measured under .4Mbps on both. Fine for basic email but not for media, downloading or anything else. Also, the fancy new "jack packs" Marriott has spent so much money to install in their guest rooms to allow interfacing with the HDTV's did not work at all in my room. After a chat with their helpful maintenance guy I figured out a workaround, but this stuff should really be plug-and-play and shouldn't require help from the staff. Head and shoulders above most Marriott properties I've encountered is the staff in Albany. I got an overly warm and friendly welcome, and everyone took personal ownership of the few problems I had and addressed them right away. The hotel may be in desperate need of a physical makeover in many areas, but the staff is doing everything in their power to help you overlook it with the great way they treat all guests. And I'm talking everyone: maids, maintenance crew, front desk, restaurant, concierge lounge, bellmen--all have obviously been well-trained and care about their jobs. Kudos to them and their management for EXCELLENT customer service. Now schedule a remodel for the property in the very near future and you'll have a true 5-star experience. read more

Stay here about five times a year for business. Excellent friendly staff, clean rooms and concierge access. Breakfast buffet is wonderful as well as dinner which is very reasonably priced for the area. Have been staying here for 14 years and have not had any regrettable experiences. read more

This was a simple Marriot in the simple town of Albany. Ah hell, who am I kidding, I was only here for a total of 20 hours. Yes, I flew clear across the country for a 20 hour stay in Albany. Yay! The accommodations were nice. Decent comfortable bed and nice, clean, good-sized rooms. There was one restaurant/lounge in the hotel which is where I had dinner as it was way too cold for me to venture out. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. read more

I recently stayed at this Marriot for a training. To anyone heading to this hotel for a conference/training, you should know there are a good supply of hotels/motels on Wolf St. that have to be at least $50 cheaper a night than this hotel. That said, I had a good stay. Customer service was excellent, the room was comfortable and clean and it was one of the few hotels I've been in in the past couple of years with proper blackout curtains. There are a small fortune of restaurants in the area as well as a CVS and Hannafords. read more

I travel quite a bit for work, and find that Marriott brand hotels are extremely reliable - I usually always know what I am getting. The Albany Marriott was a pleasant stay. The things that are crucial to me when I travel (as I do it so much) were met while I was here: - Ample parking. I never circled the lot looking for a place to park. As a matter of fact, I was always able to park on the side of the building near an alternative entrance that was closer to the bank of elevators. - Concierge lounge. The lounge here was quite, and had enough seating for the people using it. The food was well stocked (I've been in some lounges where you're picking at crumbs), and the staff were very friendly. - Quite nights stay. Aside from one night (the Saturday before St. Patrick's day, AKA parade day) that had a few people shouting down the halls, the Marriott was quite and allowed me to be refreshed and ready to go. Just the straight facts for now. -Stairways from the third floor does not let you out on the first floor its an emergency exit only on first floor so you cannot get to the lobby using stairs that we could find. It seemed silly to take the elevator for three flights, but I couldn't find another option. -got in a little after 11 PM overnight shift was in. I'm not going to judge on personality here for that. She did :-) mention there is a scratch card inside my key sleeve for me to earn extra points but she didn't let us know where our room was located and the lobby is huge as well as the hallways. Keys were ready and we did mobile check in. -We pretty much first walked to our room, looked out the window to find where the closest area was to park, and then attempted to find the closest door that allowed entry as some were emergency only. -gave us a room right across from the ice machine, but that's fine I had that happen before using the discounted rate. -noticed quite a few wear & tears and in need of touch up on all furniture in the room... this Marriott seemed older/worn all over. Lobby, signage, and everything. -gym equipment was awesome though very big gym and updated equip. Highest dumbbell 50 lbs there were no headphones and apples were bruised, but I'm sure they were fresh in the day time and better looking. -in the room there were stains on the wall behind the TV that looked like soy sauce, pillows were dirty with a few small hair and sheets were stained that came back from cleaning. I don't believe we were given dirty sheets and pillowcases they just came back from the cleaners that way and need to be looked at more carefully prior to being used. -for my feng shui side they have one of the beds directly in front of the mirror which is bad for that. Sucks your energy out! -thermostat did not go lower than 68. The unit itself looked like it was pulled apart. The cover was left off, and the top of the unit was dusty/dirty. -gave tons of coffee packets though which is great. I didn't use any, but I can see guests appreciating that. There were also two types of tea and a few of each. -The directories are all a little worn and old they could use replacing. -The ice machine on the third floor is dirty on the floor there is rust and mold. -Just a personal opinion, I love the design of the amenities, shampoo/soap...etc. I dislike very much the lotion, which of course is brand standard. It' woodsy, which isn't very universal for fragrance sakes =( This Marriott wasn't bad, but it is older and lacked a little TLC with the room itself. In fairness I did not encounter much of the staff, only the overnight crew which was friendly enough. The area itself has a Dunkin and Starbucks with tons of stores and restaurants nearby. It's a typical area where an airport (Albany InTl) is nearby and would have lots to offer anyone staying a night or for airline crew. This place is going to look great once they decide on a renovation. I can't imagine it will be too much longer, most of them have already done one. Wonder when the last time this one was? read more

The hotel is noting special just a hotel pretty nice though. This review is regarding the restaurant attached inside the Lobby. Came here for breakfast with my family and got the chocolate chip pancakes and they were very good. Very thick and chocolatey. I was very pleased my parents got the buffet and they were pleased with that as it had a lot to offer. The best part though was probably the orange juice it was so good. It may have been I haven't had good OJ in awhile but this orange juice was great make sure you get it read more

My daughter left her stuffed animal behind in the hotel room - I imagine it was thrown in the laundry with the sheets. 2 phone calls, and they found it and are mailing it to us (no charge!) HUGE relief! So helpful and understanding. I can't believe they even bothered to look for it! In additon to above - Staff was super friendly and curteous, rooms clean, food good. We came with a bunch of friends for an event and we asked to be on the same floor and they accomadated that which most hotels can't or won't do. First off this place is a maze and no one that works here really understands what's going on. We had an event here and it was a nightmare just to find the day of events person. This Marriott hotel is located near Albany International Airport, and around the corner from my client, which makes it a great place to stay when I'm in town on business. Like many hotels in this area, the Marriott is located along Wolff Road - directly across the street from Olive Garden and Red Lobster. Marriott is my preferred hotel choice as I know that the rooms will be clean, comfy, and predictable -- which may sound silly until you consider that you already know that high-quality toiletries (including mouthwash) will be provided for free, along with a spacious work area, ample power outlets, and the most incredibly-comfortable bed you can possibly imagine. That consistency becomes important when you travel as much as I do. This Marriott has a terrific gym / work-out center with modern equipment, and you never a wait to use their machines. Fresh towels are sitting there waiting for you. Downstairs is a small gift shop / convenience store, along with a full bar / lounge area, and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night snacks. I found the staff to be extremely friendly -- the courtesy shuttle was sitting at the airport, ready to pick me up after my flight arrived. Then the shuttle driver brought my luggage inside while one of the bellman poured me a cup of hot chocolate and handed me a freshly-baked chocolate chip cookie, while the front desk clerk was processing my reservation. Making a special effort to share my generally very positive experience. First, the registration desk folks were friendly, competent, and thorough. (Allyanna was especially fabulous!) Second, the hotel's gym was surprisingly well-outfitted. It was clean, well laid out, and included pats, balls, free-weights, towels, water, and an excellent variety of machines. Thank you! Our room was about as expected. The microwave (in addition to the fridge) was appreciated by this tea drinker. A bit more diligent carpet vacuuming would be good... There were issues with the HVAC system took a full day to respond; quicker turn-around would have been appreciated by 100+ guests in the ballroom. Finally-- and my biggest beef-- is that there was no recycling in the ballroom space. Not only wasn't it set up, but our request took two days to address. Let's hope that management and conference staff can do better in this area in the future??? Thanks for a great visit to Albany. read more

I have stayed there a few times as it is a great location. Close to the Albany airport and near a lot of good restaurants. Appears they have done some updating. Rooms are small, very clean and comfortable. My room had a frigid, coffee, tea and real creamer a nice surprise. They worked hard to make my stay comfortable. read more

I have to preface this review that I work in the hotel business, and I worked at the Albany Marriott right after it opened for about a year, in 1985. So, here I find myself in Albany, and decided to give my old employer a try. Wonderful service experience - yes, the carpets in the corridors need replaced, but I would stay here again. Friendly "hospitable" (That's why they call it the "Hospitality Industry".) service always beats older carpets any day - trust me! Here's my experience: I arrived on Thursday, 10/13 at about 5:00pm; I check in, and am talking with Scott at the desk. I have a 6:20am Friday am flight out, and ask about transfers/options to get to the airport. Scott recommends I take my car back now, and he gives me a business card to call the hotel, and the van will pick me up at the airport. Then he makes me a cab reservation for 5:00am. (One bad point about the hotel - van service does not start until 5:45 am, but I saw at least 5 people departing for the early Continental and American flights at 5:00am. Maybe they should consider any earlier weekday start???) I take the rental car back, call the desk, and the hotel van arrives 5 minutes after I call - WOW!. Nice friendly van driver; I arrive back at the hotel, walk by the desk and Scott and desk staff want to make sure I am okay and set for my cab. They offer me an amenity (1/2 bottle of wine and cheese/crackers, when I tell them I used to work there.) I go to my room and order room service. Nice offer -thanks! I go to the business center - which is nice - and print my boarding pass. Nice room - very comfortable and modern; and yes, the carpet in the hallways as mentioned is in need of replacement. But the rooms have no issues. Clean, comfortable bed, fluffy towels, and everything worked great - from hairdryer to lamps to internet. I call for room servicce and decide on a Cobb salad. Special requestes (No Avacado) are accommodated and I have a wonderful engaging conversation with the room service waiter who delivers my order on-time and with the above mentioned wine, and within the 40 minute deliver time quoted. After I have dinner, I get a call from the room service department asking about my dinner, and do I want dessert? Great follow-up! BTW - one of the best Cobb salads I have had recently! I get up at 4:30am; very, very hot shower (Which is great when you only sleep for 5 hours), and as I leave I see a bellman delivering papers. He stops me in the hallway and hands me the USA Today, and wishes me a good day - at 5:00am! I head to the lobby, and my cab is waiting for me - meaning the reservation was made!. I get an accurate bill at the desk, and decide that I will stay here again...I have to come back to Albany in the winter! read more

ok, so 4 stars, i like me my marriotts. this place has been around for decades, so the interior and layout also show it. this isnt a big deal, but i will say, trying to find my way around the halls when i first on grounds was a bit confusing. once i found my way around i was also able to find the appropriate parking for ez access to inside. so the issues i have (ok, here we go) the lounge was lacking some notable thing i appropriate in my business travels, starting with no breakfast meat or mid day snacks. i check in and usually like a soda and chip, but nothing doing here. also, i would love to see a coffee machine and not just carafe coffee. they did have chips and salsa for check in (it was may 5th, ola!) and they have fruit all over for your workout cool downs. the room was ok, but i didnt sleep as well as i usually do. oh, this was also odd, my floor was like a working living entity, meaning that there was always linens and shelving all over the place, like there was always a flux of people and room changes and room service. I didnt care as I was too there for business so its par for the course, but i was taken back that a marriott would leave everything all over the place like that. location on wolf road is good for options, but with construction is it difficult to get around the city starting my morning in the smack of wolf road. near the airport too, so lots of overhead planes. read more

Completely unprofessional banquet management. We understand that this is a venue for multiple events, however we have been left with a poor taste in our mouths to ever consider this as a venue for any future events. We unfortunately had the unpleasant experience of hosting a wedding reception at this venue and the banquet staff was more than inconsiderate to our party's needs. Extremely condescending and rude when confronting the staff about the issues we were experiencing. Way to ruin a special day because of your own agenda. read more

I'm rating this as a mid-scale hotel. I've stayed here a couple times over the last couple years and had pretty consistent service. The rooms are typical of a Marriott in the US. The furniture is a bit old. The lobby is large and nice but can't tend to get loud. The toiletries are nice and are on par with other hotels in this range. A couple things that didn't strike me well is that the staff could be better trained with pointers on better service,knowledge of area, accommodating guests questions/needs. I'm an elite member and didnt really feel like there was any special treatment. Pros: Good location near restaurants and airport in Albany Decent amount of parking spots available but you may have to park far from an entrance Rooms are comfortable but could be upgraded Restaurant menu pricing seems very reasonable for a hotel Gym is updated and has plenty of cardio and weight lifting machines. Nothing impressive about this Marriott, but nothing particularly bad either. Was frustrating that our room was not ready when we checked in at 3pm. Then we were accomodated with a King Room when the three of us had booked 2 double beds. One member of our party had to make due with a fold-out. Hotel was packed with kids in their early teens. That was a little more than I wanted to deal with on a weekend trip, but there must have been a soccer tournament or something. The door locks were faulty and it took about 15 minutes to actually get into our room. One positive is that the shuttle service is free and prompt. At $160 a night, this Marriott is grossly overpriced. You can find a much less expensive option in the area for the same experience. read more

Marriots are always safe choices. Clean and comfy beds. The parking lot is far from hotel and the closer spaces fill up fast. The check-in process was a pain. The room was originally booked under a friend's name with his discount. He wasn't able to make the trip so we called the hotel the week before to change the room name and confirmed that we can still use our friend's discount. We arrived to check-in and they don't see the change in the system. Once the situation was explained again to the hotel staff, they took our information and updated the reservation. During our stay, we called for a late check out for the room. Hotel staff does not have record of our name for the room and said we checked out. Again, we had to explain ourselves. We checked out and find out from our friend that his credit card was incorrectly charged for the room. Sounds like another call to the hotel to explain the issue. Late check out is 2 pm, which is nice. No need to rush. read more

In my opinion, this Albany Marriott is the worst Marriott hotel I've stayed in. Being a Marriott Bonvoy member, I stay in about 40 Marriott hotels a year. When I checked in, the front desk advised us that the gym was open but, you needed to come down to the front desk to sign up. The next morning, while I was stretching in my room, I noticed that my room floor was very dirty with hair, and an assortment of particles to include food crumbs. It was quite obvious that my room floor had not been vacuumed in quite a long time. Also, the plastic bag over the TV remote was also quite dirty. They say it's been "cleaned for your safety" but, in my room it had also not been changed in quite a long time. There was also a light behind the beds that was not operating normally. It only flickered when I tried to turn it in. To make matters worse, the next morning when I went down to the front desk to sign up for the gym, the front desk supervisor advised me that it was closed from 9:30am to 12:00pm for cleaning. Of course this time in the morning is a usual time for people to workout. When I looked through the gym window, there was nobody in the gym or pool area cleaning. It turns out that this Marriott closes the gym/pool for 2.5 hours, three times a day, for "cleaning". This Albany Marriott does no meet the high standards maintained by most Marriott hotels. I'd recommend that you find a different hotel that caters to the needs and desires of their customers. read more

stayed here while on a trip for the baseball hall of fame. about 70 miles from Cooperstown, so it is easy to stay here in a bigger city area than the small towns you pass through closer to Cooperstown. friendly staff, clean rooms, would stay here again! read more

Ohhh Marriott... I heart you. The beds are wonderful... the staff is amazing.... and the food here is fantastic. I usually stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites and when they were booked up, I decided to stay here and I'm not sure I'll ever go back. They have a little conveneince shop at the front desk and the front desk guy told me not to pay for the shop items because he had the same items that Marriott could provide for FREE - how awesome is that? The service here is remarkable and I'll never waver again! :) The only downside to this hotel is becuase i'm LAZY - the parking is farther away from the main entrance than I would like - ALBANY IS COLD!!! read more

Why did I give this place a second chance? The first trip in the summer was adequate however since I got in late they gave my room away to another guest. I ended up with two doubles. Second trip was around Halloween it was cold and the HVAC was blowing A/C and heat simultaneously so uncomfortable. Never again not even for free. read more

The people who work here make this place great. The servers and people working at the restaurant, bar, and check-in are all wonderful. This is a suburban hotel and is a quick drive, but not walk-able, distance to downtown or SUNY. The room was luxurious and very clean. There is a gym with plenty of aerobic machines, free fruit (apples), and locker rooms. There are two pools. Neither are big enough for serious lap swimmers but both are clean. When did booking a room start to become a major hassle. First off, we never buy or do anything online. That said we ended up calling a third party reservation service that had been provided online on what I thought was the Marriotts direct website. By using the third party booking site(Reservations.com) the rooms advertised on Marriott's website for $139.00 ballooned to $189.00 each plus each room was subject to an additional $12.98 service fee on top of the inflated price. We cancelled this order right away when we realized our mistake. The internet is sometimes not all that pleasant to use if you are unfamiliar with it. Just the irony of the name inter-NET and WEB-site isn't lost on some of us who are forced to use it for what used to be simple affairs. My advice to everyone here who feels like the world is getting more and more impersonal is to invest heavily in AI Technology and get the hell out of the way. Nobody cares about you. Wow - this place has gone downhill. I've stayed here multiple times for various conferences and events, but tonight I am treated to the utmost in sensory experiences. For some reason, my room on the 3rd floor has an overwhelming smell of breakfast meat (it's 11pm on a Friday evening). The walls are paper thin, so I'm privy to the details of the party that some college bros are having a few doors down, and BOY do they have terrible taste in music. The air conditioning in my room is loud, but I'm grateful that it comes on intermittently to down out the sound of the TV next door. There are Doritos mushed into the carpet, but not the kind that I want to eat. Closer inspection reveals that this carpet was not likely vacuumed today. Also - the WiFi access to post this review from the convenience of my room costs $12.95 per day. Who even charges for WiFi anymore? I feel like my rights are being violated. I think next time I'll stay in the Red Roof Inn across the street. I'd probably get the same delightful experience for half the cost - and at least my dog would be welcome to join me! read more

Pillows were extravagant. When I awoke from my slumber, I felt rejuvenated; my neck did not hurt. However, there were only two HBO channels. My significant other and I, were unable to catch up on Game of Thrones. She really likes Jon Snow. We had to take turns reading the novel instead. She forgot her glasses. I also can't read. Breakfast was great. Dinner was very good too. Would give this 5 stars, but the Dartmouth Women's Hockey team decided to eat all of the food in the hotel.
