Here on a business trip, and as I understood it, there was some heavy construction going on at the same time. I've had some coworkers that had their own unique experiences with that, but as for me... all was pretty decent. I had no issues with my room, other than they didn't like restocking the coffee pods for my room. I had to ask almost daily for new coffee in my room, but other than that, the accommodations were good. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and on top of any of my requests. There was a large basketball conference being held in one of the ball rooms and what was cool was there was a "Cigar" RV parked outside for the event. The bartender was pretty kick ass too, as he fed me some classic Old Fashions. I ate a few times down in the main floor, and they had some decent breakfast and lunch options. I also was able to walk nearby and score me a Geocache for NC! That was a plus! Overall, a good business trip and good experience. As always, Enjoy & and Happy Working!! read more

I started a two night stay on a Friday evening. I arrived a little after 6pm. Ajah was the front desk staff who checked me in. She was extremely amicable. She provided the necessary information needed such as the hours for the restaurant in the hotel & 24/7 market along with the location of fitness center. She noted the regular fitness center is closed but they have a makeshift one. They have signage indicated that from 9am-6pm, there will be noise due to building repairs. I was given 2 water bottles as well. There was a $50 per night refundable deposit for incidentals. When I checked in on the app, it indicated there was a $10 charge for self parking but I wasn't charged for parking, which I was happy about since they have a large lot. Although many events occurred that weekend, the hotel and lot wasn't busy. My room was on the 6th floor. When I walked in, I smelled fresh air as if a window was open. The room was clean. The closet was locked but there was a clothes rack nearby with hangers, an iron, and ironing board. The bathroom was beautifully updated. They have barn style doors for the bathroom which adds to the aesthetic. The issue is that the barn door isn't on the guide which allows the door to be pushed out and swing. vs only moving left to right. The room had the typical amenities with a mini fridge, coffee pot, etc. While there isn't a microwave in the room, there is one in the lobby that is accessible 24/7. The bed was soft and enjoyable. There were 4 pillows. The TV was large and had ability to connect to Netflix, which I did do since they had limited cable channels. I would note that the toilet in the bathroom made a weird noise every time it was flushed. The noise occurred in short intervals for a couple minutes. While not disruptive, it was odd. The clock was not set to the correct time as well. I did receive housekeeping services, which wasn't expected but appreciated. Check out was quick and easy. Somewhat of a disappointing stay. The room I got assigned was quite disappointing. It all started immediately upon entering the room with what I can only describe as a really strong musty odor. As soon as I got a look at the air conditioner in the room I could understand why. I don't know how anyone could think this is an ok room to assign to anyone. The daily housekeeping was also a disappointment. It appears they didn't care to refill the coffee. I ended up having to call the front desk. There was also food leftover in my fridge from who knows when. The bed was also a disappointment. Not really comfortable at all and the pillows were way way too soft. The shower is the only reason to give this 2 stars instead of 1. In fact the bathroom itself was the best part of this stay. I'm not sure I would choose to stay here again. read more

I stayed here for a couple of nights for a recent work trip. The hotel is conveniently located not far from the airport and was close to the offices I needed to visit. The location is nice, clean and well kept. What I really appreciated was how friendly everyone was. It was particularly noticeable in how friendly and helpful all of the staff was from check-in to the bar staff, to the engineer who had to fix a minor issue in the bathroom to, to housekeeping. My room was very clean and well maintained. They have an indoor pool and workout facilities along with a welcome little market in the lobby with drinks, snacks and toiletries if needed. I would stay here again. It's not really the doing of the hotel (haha) but I was enamored with the song birds in the parking lot. They were singing their songs and it actually made me stop and listen. Very relaxing. read more

At 2:30am I was woken by staff knocking on all doors. No audible alarm but once woken by the knocks I saw the lights out my window. Guests were evacuating rooms. I was not sure what was happening so I left my room. No announcement and I walked down the 5 flights of stairs which led me to the exterior doors at the back of the hotel. It was scary to be a female, alone at 2:30am walking from behind a building. I got to the front where other guests were gathering. We learned from the FD than an EMPLOYEE had smoked a cigarette in a conference room that set off fire alarm. Totally unacceptable. And the fact the alarm was not audible, no staff was guiding guests through a dark exit, no announcements were happening. Once we got back inside, the FD reset the elevators but the staff couldn't find the keys so after another 15 minutes, we had to walk back upstairs. At checkout, there was no apology, no explanation and zero regard for this incident that was 100% avoidable. read more

I usually stay at the Delta hotel but this visit I stayed here. The staff is really nice especially the bar supervisor whose name escapes me. The property itself could use a bit of an update but I have found this to be the case with a lot of Marriott properties the common areas are current but the rooms are give little to be desired. I loved that they offered a good mock-tail menu and the food was really good here. I dont know if I would stay here again but I will eat at the restaurant again ; read more

A decent hotel in a convenient location, the Marriott RTP is just a short distance from I-40, RDU airport, and North Carolina's Research Triangle Park, making it a great choice for just about any visit to the Triangle. Despite the property's relative age, the lobby is clean and well-maintained, with a nice bar, a 24-hour market and a small restaurant. My guest room was spacious and comfortable, with a well-designed bathroom and ample work space. Parking is free in the surface lot out front, which is nice, since nothing is within walking distance of the hotel. But for a comfortable room in a central location, the Marriott RTP is tough to beat. read more

Standard business guest Marriott. It appears to be an older property; it's been pretty well renovated, though it's still rather musty smelling when you walk in the lobby. Nice store by the front desk for snacks, drinks and sundries. Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Decent lobby bar and basic restaurant with buffet breakfast. There aren't ice machines on the floors so it's nice they have some small grab and go bags of ice in the store freezer. Reasonably comfortable king bed, desk, one comfortable seat. The room A/C can't decide if it wants to be a jack hammer or jet engine, so it goes back and forth between the two. I asked the front desk two mornings in a row if someone could make it less loud. They wrote down my request both mornings on some sort of log, but did nothing, no follow up at all. It looks like originally you could open the windows a little; enjoy the fresh air of a nice Carolina day instead of the infuriating A/C, but at this point the windows have been hard locked shut. For the A/C alone, I'd never stay here again, nor recommend the hotel to anyone. Decent water pressure, but the water is a little soft, so you don't ever feel completely clean. Limited counter space in the bathroom and no place to hang towels. There's one hanging knob inside the shower itself, but that's it. If you're not going to provide housekeeping, except upon repeated requests to just refresh towels, at least provide some place to hang them so they stay clean and dry. Small closet and a few drawers, pretty limited space. Clearly set up for short term business travelers. There is a panel for connecting the TV to external devices, something I've sporadically seen in a handful of Marriotts. Personally I'd not return to this hotel, better to look for other hotels in the area. read more

I just met Jacky and Troy in the concierge lounge here at the Marriott and they were wonderful. You can tell that they love Customer Service and their job as they made me feel so welcome that I will definitely be back just to say hello. They deserve a raise because they're such awesome people. Marriott keep hiring people like, Jackie and Troy because they're setting the bar high for customer service, which is how it should be. Concierge lounge was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. I would highly recommend during your stay as it's open 24 hours. read more

Fair. Front desk workers were excellent but it went downhill from there. Bad Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast, powder eggs with hard hard fruit that was not edible. Bar had poor service for drinks and food. They ran out of some food orders and also gave me a chicken sandwich with more lettuce than chicken and it took forever to get and it was expensive. The Hotel staff were great. I happened to be stuck in raleigh for 30+ hours and i work for a major airline due to weather and flights cancelling. Lot of flight crews were stranded and getting stuck. I was in Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC for a week and stayed at Marriott RTP. I'm giving them five stars for the following reasons: 1. Check-in/check-out was quick. Pro tip: Take the complimentary shuttle from RDU airport to the hotel and back, instead of calling Uber/Lyft/taxi. It saves you $15 one-way. However, the complimentary shuttle only runs during weekdays. 2. Room was spacious and fairly clean. I should note that there was a used plastic glass by the window when I came in, and clearly the housekeepers forgot to throw it away, but no biggie. 3. Bed was super comfortable! Seriously, very comfy. 4. Amenities. There's a gym. And an indoor pool. And a business center. 5. Location is alright. It's a good 15-minute drive from downtown Durham. 6. Room service was quick. I ordered food one night and it was delivered to my room earlier than anticipated. And the lady was very sweet. 7. Staff was friendly. From receptionists to housekeepers, to the servers at the bar. Everyone went out of their way to make sure I had a pleasant stay at Marriott. Will I come back? Yes, of course! Thanks for a wonderful stay, Marriott! read more

I don't think I can fully put into words how awful my stay at this Marriott property was. I have been a loyal Marriott customer for over 7 years and have been a Titanium Elite member for the last two years. I was in a bit of a bind as my flight was delayed out of Raleigh causing me to miss my connecting flight in LaGuardia. Rather than sleep in an airport (which maybe I should have done), I decided to stay in Raleigh. I found this Marriott and it had a deluxe corner room with a king size bed, which was perfect since I was trying to make the best of a not so great situation. The staff were friendly when I arrived. They gave me my room number, and I went up to it, only to find out that I was not in a corner room. I sent a message to the front desk and they stated that, "That was not part of my reservation". Mind you, it cost extra for that room. I called Titanium Elite support, who could see that my reservation, did indeed have corner room on it. They called the hotel and they offered to refund the rate difference. I told them that I booked this room because it was a larger corner room. If one wasn't available, it should not have been listed on their website. They told me to hold on and they would see what they could do. 15 minutes later, they come up and let me know there is a corner room available down the hall. Sounds great! I crash as soon as I get into the room as I have been traveling for 10 days straight and at this point, I am physically and mentally exhausted. When I wake up from my nap and check out the room, I find out that the blinds are broken, there is no hand soap in the bathroom, there are large food crumbs in the closet, as well as a light fixture with a glass bulb just sitting on top of the closet shelf. The light in the closet clearly didn't work. I tried to make the best of it as I am not one to complain. I figured I would just make the best of the 2 nights and move on. I asked the front desk if they had an extra power cord to the TV as the plug fit my laptop adapter as I forgot my charger before I left to travel. All the other Marriott properties I stayed at in the last week and a half easily got me an extra cord to borrow during my stay. The front desk told me there are no extra TV cords and that they can't remove a power cord from another room. Some of the rooms were under construction and no one could stay there, and yet, they could not use any of those cords. Heaven forbid someone's TV cord wasn't working. There are no extras! I told them about the missing amenities and the food crumbs in the room (mind you it is now 11:30 at night) and their response is, "We are sorry. We can move you again." I told them I am not moving to a third room when this clearly was a quick cover up for the fact that the room I booked wasn't available. They told me they would be more than happy to, "do anything to make my stay better". I told them that was impossible as I couldn't even get a simple power cord from them. I couldn't even watch TV as they only have cable TV (yes, you are reading this correctly). I will NEVER stay at this Marriott property again. I would rather sleep in an airport than to be disrespected by staff when they lied about my reservation until I called Elite support and were the most unaccomodating group of people I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Looks are deceiving! It looks nice on the outside and in the pictures, but the inside is a different story! read more

Marriott at Research Triangle Park - Nasty pillow - Hotels Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

Summary: Poorly managed; yard sale service; old property with cracking paint on ceilings. I arrived 1AM, waited 15m as the Assistant Manager tried to recover her password while trying (for most of that time) to conceal that she had forgotten it. I hate dishonesty. After 10 minutes I called Marriott's Titanium Elite line to report the issue and see if they could check me in remotely and give me an electronic / phone app enabled key. While I did that she called someone and used that person's password. As a Titanium elite I was not offered my check in amenity. I also was not asked if I had a car, but a $10 daily parking charge showed up on my bill (no garage, no gate, straight-up outdoor Walmart style parking--and I walked back and forth to my car in torrential rain 5 of 6 times over two days). My room had double beds, I had requested a King. The ceiling paint was significantly cracking in the bathroom (always worrisome with old, moldy hotels like this one). The double beds were both small and uncomfortable. I found hairs on the desk lamp and in the shower. I was told I would be contacted by the manager; I only heard from a manager after I emailed my complaint. He called in the middle of the day Friday while I was on calls. I'm sure the time was convenient for him. The next morning I was on a call when housekeeping came and kept knocking... 5-6 times in less than 2 minutes even though I answered "please come back later" in increasing volume each time. Finally I yelled "I am on a [!*%#] phone call, please come back later". She never came back to clean my room. I'd have liked a clean room. That night I drove out for BBQ and came back with takeout. I was waiting by the bar and a gentleman from the restaurant told me I could sit down there with my food. The bartender who showed up after I spent 10 minutes waiting for a drink (nobody was tending the bar for at least 10 minutes around 7:30/8 at night) said I could not--contrary to what I was just told--sit at the bar with my outside food even if I wanted to order a drink. I could only sit at the round table in the breeze (and blowing rain) of the opening front door... not the bar, the tall table near the bar, or any of the several other low tables (all of which were unoccupied... much like the bar... which had ~4 people sitting). The bartender was rude and I told her nothing had gone right at the hotel since I got there. I ordered a glass of the Daou Cabernet (about $20/bottle retail consumer price), for $17 on the menu--it showed up on my bill at $22. When I told her it said $17 on the menu she protested, insisted $22 was right, rolled her eyes and picked up a menu... only to see that it said $17. Ridiculous behavior, ridiculous disconnect, ridiculous markup, just ridiculous. Lastly, the automated hotel bill I received came out as 26 pages of computer symbols. So I had to ask my assistant to follow up to get a proper bill... which is when I found out about the $10 parking charge... I've stayed thousands of nights at Marriotts over the last three decades and I literally can't remember a worse stay than this. This property is poorly managed and in poor condition. I will avoid it at all costs and I would recommend others avoid it as well. read more

Used to love this place. Currently undergoing renovations. DO NOT LIKE Walking in to face a wall. The lack of warmth and welcome you used to feel are replaced by a wall. When you were in the lobby you could see the bar area and dining room. But now that all been hidden behind a wall. Lobby area has changed greatly and is much smaller. Upon arrival in our room which by the way was not ready, we were told they would just put us in an ADA room. Not a problem. However, housekeeping did a horrendous job in our room. There were actual foot prints on the white duvet cover, and I'm not quite sure what bodily function happened on the pillowcases. When I took photos of the condition of our room down to the front desk to show them and complain the young lady said "I'll make note of it." Seriously? That's how you handle any customer let alone a lifetime titanium member? You left me in the filthy room? I stripped off the pillowcase and tossed it on the floor and I removed the duvet cover in the same manner. The new renovations took away dressers/closets in the room as well! Nowhere to store your luggage except in the much smaller room! And the bathroom????? My hubby and I are traveling and there are only two bath towels! How do they expect a female to shower and wash her hair with only one towel? Marriott has had so many issues since the merger. This filthy/unsanitary stay means I WILL NOT BE BACK. And the concierge lounge is still not open on weekends so you can't even get a bottle of water, soda and snack. One of the local college sports teams is staying here so they get the use of it exclusively! And here it is after midnight and the coaches/players/parents are all congregated around the pool talking loudly, yelling, etc.....I can hear their foul language up here on the 5th floor. I recently stayed two nights at this Marriott location for a work trip. I was skeptical to book this hotel as the reviews weren't very positive. But I'm glad I overlooked the reviews and decided to stay here. The check-in process was professional and speedy. I ended up getting a room on the 4th floor which was recently renovated. The major plus of the room was the newly renovated bathroom. The walk-in shower was nice and the water pressure was strong. Since the restroom is recently renovated, everything felt fresh and clean. The king size bed was firm which is not a problem for me but may be for some folks who like a plushier bed. Now the reason why I am giving this hotel a 4 star review was because the HVAC system was extremely loud which made clunking sounds and this caused me to lose sleep both nights I was there. It got so bad that I actually turned off the heat on the second night but then the road noise from I-40 made it impossible to sleep as well. Typically I fall asleep very easily but I had a very difficult time falling asleep here which is very uncommon. At first I thought this issue was only isolated to my room but my coworker also had the same issue in his room on the 4th floor as well. Overall I would recommend this hotel to business travelers as it's conveniently located. The newly renovated rooms are nice but I hope that the HVAC issue gets resolved quickly as it's very annoying. I will end off my review by saying that the staff at this location are courteous and always have a smile on their faces. read more

I've stayed at this Marriott several times over the past five years and as a Platinum level guest and uber-frequent traveler, I always found it to be the worst Marriott on the planet. I stayed away for six months then tried it again. A disaster.! Missing towels several nights in a row and tonight... BLOOD ON THE NEW SHEETS!!! I'm stupid for not learning. The Courtyard down the road laughs at these guys. They've heard how bad it is. They told me it wasn't a corporate owned Marriott and hence the trashy vibe. They should rent rooms by the hour. UPDATE: I just received a sarcastic reply from the General Manager suggesting I stay somewhere else. Intelligent way to address your shortcomings, sir. BTW, your own employees admitted to me tonight that this hotel is substandard compared to other hotels they've worked at in the area. Should they find new jobs too? read more

I love this hotel! As a flight attendant I stay in tons of hotels. The staff is always so kind. If you sign up for a survey then you get a scratch off ticket. You can win bonus rewards points, coffee, dessert, complimentary breakfast buffet, or some other things. Then the beds are so comfortable. The showers!!!! Best shower I have ever had. To turn it on (it is on the opposite side of the wall! Which makes so much sense! So you don't turn it on and get drenched) you have 2 shower heads and it's just amazing. Have to be here to see it. The bar has excellent staff. Mike is hilarious. The wings are one of the best wings I have ever had. I love this hotel so much I chose these overnights. WiFi works great. A/C works great. I've been here at least 20 times in 2018 and I don't have one complaint. read more

Cannot get management to even return a phone call or emails (several). What could have been taken care of immediately has now cost me about $50 Left an item in my room, called and emailed immediately, and they cannot even both to return the messages or emails. I can only imagine the lack of service that would take place if something important needed to be addressed. read more

Glad I booked this hotel even though I read a few unfavorable reviews. The location was great for us because it was right in between UNC campus and the state fair. The hotel is right off of the highway and kind of tucked away. The price was great and very reasonable for a weekend stay. The employees were nice and friendly and check in was quick and easy. I was able to check in my room a little early as well which I appreciated. The hotel is pretty large with a restaurant, pool and meeting and business rooms in the hotel. The hotel looks a little dated on the outside but they have renovated the hotel in the inside. Its very modern in the hallways and hotel room. Our room was nice and clean and everything we needed for 2 nights. The bed was really comfortable and the TV is huge! I appreciated the room having multiple phone chargers attached to the nightstand for us to use. The bathroom was very nice, I really liked the shower. Only complaints we had the air conditioner in the room was extremely loud when the air came on, it woke me up in the middle of the night a few times. The toilet ran water loudly for awhile but ends up stopping. And there was not an ice machine on our floor. The only one is on the main floor. Besides that we loved the hotel, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again. It was nice to see the UNC football team stayed the night there as well. read more

From the moment in it was awful. TV and phone didn't work. After replacing the TV controller I called the front desk for assistance as the guide wouldn't appear. 8 ridiculous channel. Come in. Get into this century. The front desk couldn't have been any less helpful. The next night I returned from work to find Chinese food in my room as well as disheveled mess. The Do not disturb sign was clearly on my door. Someone had clearly been in my room. Obviously I hadn't ordered Chinese food or rummaged through my room. The kind maintenance engineer was just outside. He came in to see the mess and kindly escorted me to front desk. We wanted to know who had accessed my room. Nope. No help I implored to call the manager who was gone. After waiting I called the police to assist me. Moving rooms was there only offer and continued to insult me that I was the only one in my room. Complete lies. Never in my travels have I experienced such horrible and unsafe hotel results. Run far away from this dump. I moved at 1 am after the off duty assistant manager showed up and after insulting me again and refusing to give the police and I answers on who was in my room. Denied he had access to any logs or video. The Delta is wonderful by the way. I just saw they had the audacity to charge me for the room and I have yet to hear from the hotel manager or corporate on this complete safety violation. Simply the worst. Police opened an incident report. I will follow up with corporate. read more

When we landed in RDU I called back to check if I had a feather free room set aside for me. I did Not...Maleka took my call, and when I signed in, she had this health concern resolved for me! I've been staying at various hotels in the RTP area for a couple of months now so I'm comparing this to these hotels. 1. this place is hard to find. I've driven by the turn off a couple of times now. 2. good location if you are working in the RTP area. 3. Lots of good food selections within a mile or so. None walkable unfortunately. 4. the outside of the place isn't much to look at but the interior is updated and nice. It's also a smallish hotel but has all the amenities you expect from a full service Marriott. 5. the bar has a good selection of local beers! 6. their dining menu is pretty limited and nothing fancy. I have to say that the chibittia burger with Brie on it was pretty damn good. 7. the workout area is small, couple of tread mills... 8. The rooms are clean and modern. Comfy bed and lots of pillows. Free Internet (for me anyway). So why doesn't it get a 4? For one reason - the heater in my room is VERY noisy and seems to cycle every 7 minutes. If this changes on my next visit I'll update the review and give it a 4. If you are looking for a full service hotel in the RTP area this is a good choice. read more

I've stayed here on multiple occasions and every time really enjoyed it. The location of the hotel is in a great spot, though can be tricky to find the first time --it's buried in a housing community off the main road. The hotel itself is great inside. It has a nice modern look to it and the staff are great. It's a full service hotel so it has all the amenities you need from indoor pool, gym, bar, restaurant, shuttle, and great service. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food is pretty good. Like all the full service Marriott's they serve Starbucks coffee all day. The rooms are the typical Marriott with nothing too special here. The beds are very comfy with decent bedding. There is a whole array of restaurants one exit up or down from this location; however, there really isn't anything off the main road where this is located, and certainly nothing within walking distance. Whenever I visit the RTP area this is where I stay --and will continue to do so. I really enjoy the hotel and its location is perfect --right off the freeway. read more

Stayed here the last time I was in RTP (Research Triangle Park), which was in July. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Convenient hotel, which is not far from my Client's office. The food I did have here wasn't bad, and at the bar, the bartenders were nice.. but not always behind the bar. A couple of things I didn't like at this place. 1) I had a room on the Ground floor (big Mistake!!) Every morning, the sink in the bathroom would start gurgling and began spitting out water with sediments, I complained twice and they had someone come out and look at it... Which didn't help at all.. It also happened at the same time every morning.. Just when I was getting ready!! 2)I ordered breakfast to be delivered to the room and the breakfast came quickly.. Yay for that.. only the coffee pot was.. EMPTY!! LOL They did bring back a new pot of coffee.. Yes with Coffee in it :) I would give them another shot with a room on a higher floor. WiFi is free if you are a frequent Marriott member. read more

You took what your manager told you that was duty and made your decision based on what she told you. As far as your workers coming to work in the storm that was there choice to work or stay home during the storm I'm sure you wasn't paying them to stay home ! No guest that stays in your establishment deserves to feel unsafe and be treated and talked to like they were a little kid. For an airport hotel - I was very pleased. They had a nice concierge lounge with a hot breakfast (oatmeal, eggs, potatoes) plus cereals, fruit, yogurt, etc. and appetizers/desserts in the evening. It was definitely a little bit more than I was expecting. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Not much of a good outdoor running area, but oh well - that's not really their fault. All in all - solid airport hotel, and only a 10 minute drive back to RDU. I was even able to grab an Uber since I missed the hotel airport shuttle. Bonus! read more

This is a solid full-service Marriott, centrally located in RTP. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Staff are very nice and go out of their way to address any concerns or questions you may have. As a frequent "stayer," I enjoy a free breakfast in the concierge lounge - so get my protein fix addressed easily and quickly. Wifi is free for Rewards members, as well. Room service food is very good and service staff efficient & friendly. I'll stay here again. read more

I travel here often for business and although I appreciate the friendliness and support of the staff, the facilities and operation is seriously lacking. Couple of major things to note: 1. Breakfast isn't included in your room price 2. The menu is quite small 3. The business operations are lacking. They promise you things and fall back on their promise 4. The event managers don't listen to your needs and they push off their responsibilities to other departments 5. The rooms are a bit outdated for being a full service Marriott 6. Conceirge level access area, they served hotdogs and waffle fries. Pretty sure that food is served on the children's menu... because its most definitely not food that you would see on their very expensive restaurant menu. I don't mind staying at this Marriott because I really don't have a choice. But if I did, I may decide to choose one of the other many hotels in close proximity. 3 Stars because the staff is just so friendly! read more

We stayed here for 2 nights while up in the RTP area. Check in was easy and friendly, and we were up in our room in a matter of minutes. The room was fine, nothing special. Very standard for a Marriott--and the beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom showed its age--I could see where the shower curtain bar had been removed and replaced with a new one. The TV had a limited amount of channels, which is weird because I had about 70 channels at my last stay at the Fairfield Inn in Myrtle Beach. We also had access to the concierge lounge. It was...well, average. It wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. Breakfast was a little limited, but fruit and cereal was all I needed. The lounge attendants were fine, but nothing extraordinary. I would stay here again if up in the RTP, but if another full service Marriott offered a competitive rate, I'd probably go there first. read more

People usually sleep at night time and I barely have rest before I have to be up at work in 6 hours and you schedule overnight construction??? That's crazy most people are sleeping this time of day! Awful awful. read more

I spent 3 weeks at this property. The staff was friendly and helpful and it was very clean. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant but I spent a lot of time in the club lounge on the 5th floor. The breakfasts in the lounge always featured eggs, meat, and an array of carbs. The eggs were of good quality and all the meat they served was enjoyable except the turkey sausage. It just seamed overly dry. The hour'd'oeuvres served in the evening were very good. They served cheese, crackers, and a couple hot items. The only one that wasn't tasty was the chicken skewers with pineapple. There was something about the pineapple that sent me ordering Jimmy John's in my room that night. The gym was well equipped and clean. It had free weights, cardio equipment with individual video setups and a free range of motion system that worked for everything else. I'll definitely stay here when I'm in the RTP area again. read more

Had a bad experience. Usually anytime you check in to a hotel, the person at the reception informs you about the breakfast where the breakfast lounge/hall is and also the time when it opens and closes. But last week on July 7th 2019 when we checked in, they didn't mention anything about it and when we were inside the room we find this information asking how many number of people for room service breakfast and we assumed that's how this hotels breakfast was served and ordered for 4 people. During checkout we were in for a surprise, the total bill exceeded by double the mount we paid for the room. We tried explaining to the person at the front desk and waited another 30 minutes for the manager and she said she'd let the accountant know about it and it'll be taken care. It took another almost a week of multiple calls to the accounts person to get back/refunded 1/3rd of the amount. I wouldn't bother about giving a bad review if they had called us to help or tried to at least pretend that they were by answering calls, but it took almost a week of many phone calls to get back that small amount. That was very unprofessional of them. read more

Basic location. Nothing special. Typical Marriott property. Needs updating. Not a place I would return to but only a place worth staying if you are in and out. This is dated and needs to be renovated ASAP. It's rough. read more

Nice hotel. The rooms are nice and updated. The walls are a little thin but other than that the hotel is nice with great service. It is tucked away in residential area so can't really walk anywhere. It is ideally located to RTP so that's a plus. read more

I am a flight attendant and visit many hotels and establishments on a weekly basis. The Marriott hotel at Research Triangle is hands down on top of things when it comes to hospitality. Everyone is so nice and polite. The entire staff speaks to you and smiles. The food at the restaurants is fresh and delicious. Wall unit a/c units, dirty bathrooms, ants and stinkbugs, peeling wallpaper, paper thin walls. If you enjoy cigarette smoke sucked into the 737 engine that doubles as your hvac system, please stay here. If you enjoy squishing ants, googling pictures of the bugs in your room, stay here. If you enjoy listening to your neighbor's phlemy coughing and talking back to the tv, definitely stay here. The redeeming qualities are the desk staff (restaurant/bar staff is lousy) and the bed is comfy. Once you kick out the stinkbugs. read more
