I did enjoy my stay here for one night . The room was clean except for the glass on the shower . The gym was adjacent to the pool area and clean . Location is within walking distance to shops and food so why would they charge $15.00 to park as a hotel guest ??! To boot they don't tell you when you check in and when I called to find out what I was charged for they said there are signs posted as you park but I didn't see one at all ! Where to even start.... We made reservations in a wedding party months ago. Didn't actually get charged (but thought we did!) turns out it's a temporarily hold and we didn't get charged until we checked in so it looks like you get double charged so I had to go ask about it. It was double the online fee in our confirmation we were only supposed to pay $456 after tax and our total was almost $600 for literally a day and a half! Seems to be some hidden fees and deposits and the way they charge is super shady. The hallways were so loud at night. Lots of screaming guests or talking in the hallway. We were woken several times throughout the night by people having full conversations. Like please go into your room or lobby! The hallways echo and we can hear your whole conversation. Please know the rooms are not sound proof-so yes you can hear other people doing the deed-this was not fun to listen to but luckily didn't last long. Also if someone knocks on a door, it sounds like it's your door we thought several time someone knocked on our door but it was across the hall or next door. Room was a little dirty and I had hair on my pillow and showered needed a good clean. (For the record I worked housekeeping many moons ago so I do judge/look at those things) I also requested in my reservation 2 extra pillows which I never got. Luckily my brother is also staying at the same hotel a few doors down and he gave us 2 pillows because he did bring his own- since we couldn't seem to get them from the hotel. The message light in the phone kept flashing red and I have epilepsy so flashing lights isn't good. My brother said his room phone was the same way. We could not get rid the light of it even after a call to the front desk so we covered it with some socks. There are only regular outlet plugs so you don't have a place for usb or usb c so make sure to have a wall charger! I swear I saw something online that said they have smart plugs or something. Guess not. As for lights in the room: One light didn't turn on at all (at the desk) and the hall light flickered like crazy so we just didn't turn it on. I spoke with the manager when I reserved our room and asked a crib or pack and play be in room when we arrive because we had a LOT of travel with a very small baby so when we got to the hotel we knew we would need to get her to nap asap. No crib. I called after like 45 minutes since one still wasn't brought up and they apologized and said they would get one. It took a while but at least we got one eventually. Honesty the staff was nice but some of the ones I talked to didn't see things through (like the pillows) but I know hotels can be a rough job to work (like most things now days ) Speaking of pillows they are down pillows and your head basically sinks to be bottom. ZERO pillow structure even if you put multiple together. Highly recommend your own pillow if you want some decent sleep. Also random but wanted to note: We were on an upper floor and you go down the longest hallway ever (like a scary dream where the hall doesn't end...it's kinda crazy) . Whenever we needed to get ice it was like a hike. They should have designed another ice room on the other end because it's literally that far. Let's be positive: Fridge-small but good to have! Nice big shower with good shower pressure, room is descent size that 2 adults, a baby and a crib had enough space to move around, nice big tv lots of channels and kid channels, no balcony but there is a door you can open which is so nice in the fall, bed itself was comfy compared to other beds. With that said everything considered I have it 2 stars. read more

This hotel is huge. It's not like a traditional Marriott, but more like a Marriott campus. We stayed for a wedding block with a very large group, and there were at least three other wedding groups at the hotel. This is a good hotel for a wedding block because there is a bar in the lobby for an after party, and several large conference rooms where you can host a post-wedding brunch. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfy! Our room overlooked the pool area. We didn't actually go to the pool, but it looked nice from afar. Only downside was that housekeeping was banging at the door at 8:30 AM. On a Saturday. In a wedding block room. Why on earth?! In any case, this was a solid experience and it's a good place to stay if you are in the area for a wedding. read more

My husband and I stayed here overnight for a wedding and had a wonderful experience. Kathi not only made our reservation but provided us with an amazing check in and check out experience. Rooms were very quiet, clean, spacious and most importantly the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! I would definitely love to come back in the summertime for a staycation, they have both an indoor and outdoor pool and quite a few nice restaurants in the area. We didn't get to check it out this trip, but they also have an Irish pub on the premises as well. Overall it was a wonderful stay. read more

Terrible experience on our wedding night. My wife and I came right after our wedding to spend the night and the receptionist could give 2 s**ts to help us. Filthy attitude, would not assist us a bit to check in, miserable woman from night shift, and her manager was of no help either just kept her head down and left back to her office. Overall a fine experience. Stayed here one night for a wedding. The room itself was fine. It was muggy & smelly when we first walked in. After turning the ac on a lower setting the odor & quality of the air was better. The next morning around 9am I awoke to the housekeeper in our room. I had to tell her we were still sleeping. After being woken up by the housekeeper we went down for breakfast. On the way downstairs while walking through the halls we saw a man yelling at a housekeeper for entering their room. - Not cool. I can't believe I'm giving only 3 stars to this place. But when you hear what my experience was, perhaps you will think I'm being generous. The poor Uber driver was sent to the back and we wound up circling for a few to get back to front driveway. (Easy fix folks change this) In my room which was adequate they had sliding screen door which is a huge plus! But it was jammed or permanently soldered closed. No fresh air for me!!! Took shoes off and hoped on bed to catch up with email etc before heading down to dinner. I was lucky because I got off on the opposite side of bed by the wall instead of the side going in and out of the room. (See photo) there was a significantly sharp piece of broken glass or something wear I kicked off the shoes. I noticed it when I bent down to retrieve them. Yikes! Lucky! The next day full of meetings at our on campus work conference, I retreated to the room to freshen up prior to diner at 7pm and my room wasn't made. Nor when I came back for the evening at 11:30. I called the front desk and of course they asked if I put the sign out. Of course not. Well the rest of the stay was fortunately uneventful. It's always a pain to be 3 time zones away from home,therefore sleep comes in fits and starts as it is. It took a couple uneventful nights to get into a rhythm, and by then it was check out time. Ahhh New Jewersy! It didn't go unnoticed that here was serial Jewish speed dating going on every day all over the hotel. Where ever there were a couple of chairs and a table off by themselves, a couple was either engaged in strained, or enthusiastic conversation. Which makes great sense some this hotel apparently has many weddings. This is brilliant! The guy and girl meet at hotel, get married at hotel, wedding night at hotel, and promptly 13 years later, a bat or bar mitzvah is being held for their kids. Rinse repeat! We were visiting for our 40th high school reunion with Park Ridge High School. The checking in process was quick and painless. The process that was not painless is trying to use the Bonboy app and using your phone to check in and open doors. Don't waste your time. Marriott is behind on the times with technology. The room was nice but figuring out the right temp was a challenge. It ran A/C whenever the temp went up one degree from the setting, and ran heat whenever temp went down one degree. #oddnoisyhvac. Shower Gel was empty in the bathroom and that is concerning as cleaning staff may be cutting corners. Overall though, the room was nice, and the overall cleanliness was good. Three star though because of the Bonvoy App, HVAC and maintaining amenities in the bathroom. Lastly, forget about buying buffet breakfast. $23.99! No thanks. read more

There are not many food options available and I do not have a car so access to quick, good, affordable, and healthy food is limited. Luckily, there is a Marriott with a decent lounge / bar inside for those looking to stay in. There is also a cafe at the Lifetime across the street but that can be discussed in another review The servers are generally friendly and the place is usually busy, in particular on Wednesday's nights before the consultants fly out. There is a comprehensive menu with the specials of the day, sandwiches, pastas, soups, and alcohol Ordered - Salad (3.5/5). Generic salad with grilled chopped chicken pieces, wonton strips, and tomatoes. The server forgot the dressing but that was fine as I was looking to eat it raw and without the condiments. It tastes like any salad and the portion was about right - Asian Rice Bowl with Shrimps (2.5/5). This was a mistake of dish. It was completely drenched with a very salty soy sauce and did not taste as described. The rice was not enough and it was completely soaked in soy sauce, where it questioned whether I ordered a soup instead. The shrimps were cooked well and the amount part of the dish that kind of saved it from being a complete disaster. The price was steep too ($~22) read more

The Park Ridge Marriott is a very nice hotel in a great location near restaurants and a Wegmans, but the main reason I gave this hotel the top rating is due to the amazing employees they have working there! We stayed 4 nights at the PR Marriott as part of the wedding block of rooms (parents of the groom). During our stay we were very pleased with the overall cleanliness and welcoming feel of the common areas and our room. Our room was spacious and had a refrigerator, which was very nice. Housekeeping was attentive and very flexible to working around our schedule. The pool and fitness room were well kept and seemed to be updated recently. While the hot tub was out of service, the temperature of the indoor pool was kept very warm, which was nice and relaxing. During our visit we did eat at the Irish pub (separate review) and the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet was $21 pp, but had a nice selection of options. Included in the price of the buffet, the cook would make us breakfast items on the menu that were not on the buffet! This was impressive and included a variety of omelets, pancakes, etc. Our server, Estrella, both days took great care of us and ensured my coffee cup never was emptied!! As I mentioned before the staff is what makes this hotel. Shelia and Kamar at the front desk were amazing and attentive. I feel bad that I don't remember the names of the other two ladies who helped us out, but I have never experienced this type of personal service before. The team helped me secure last-minute rooms for family who had flight trouble and also remembered small details of conversations to ask us about later. It was nice to return to the hotel to have them ask specifics about our rehearsal dinner or shopping trip. Honestly, the service I received was comparable to that of the front desk at The Greenbrier! Usually when we travel we stay at another popular hotel chain, but based on the friendly professional service we experienced on this trip, our travel plans will now include Marriott brand hotels. read more

Last week I called directly to the Park Ridge Marriott to book a two-night stay, and when the front desk answered I asked to be transferred to their reservation area. I then spoke with a gentleman who quoted me the cost of the room. I made the reservation and he said I would receive an email confirmation shortly. A few minutes later it came, and I couldn't believe what I was looking at. The room was priced at $288.00 for the two nights. Of course I expected tax to be added, but what I didn't expect was to see a total charge of $380.95! Apparently they added $72.96 in "taxes and fees" to my room total, and then they added an additional charge of $19.99 as a "service fee". That's a total of an extra $92.95 being added to my room rate of $288.00. WTH? I called the hotel right back and asked if those numbers were correct, and they said yes. I said fine, cancel the reservation. They did, but told me that as per their terms the $19.99 service fee was non-refundable. I asked what is the service fee for, and they said it's a fee from Reservations.com. I told them I never called Reservations.com, and they said that's where the res came from. In other words, when I had originally asked their front desk for the reservations dep't., they actually transferred me to a third party rather than process the reservation themselves, with nothing being said to me. I called Marriott corporate since in all my time in business I had never seen crap like this. They tried to be helpful but since the charge was not from Marriott they couldn't reverse it. They then transferred me to a Reservations.com customer service rep who refused to issue a credit. Rather than go into a lengthy description of what followed, I'll jump to the end when the money was finally refunded to me. What kind of scam is the Park Ridge location pulling on the public? P.S. I made a different reservation with Marriott in New Hampshire earlier today. The confirmation showed the room cost plus tax, which is as it should be. read more

I was here for a work meeting. Very nice hotel in general, with great guest services and all the amenities I'm getting used to seeing with Marriott. The location is a little tucked away, but once you get close, it's easy to spot from the road. The fitness center is a decent size and has the typical equipment, and the cardio machines have entertainment options, which is nice. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to log on to my Netflix account on the elliptical machine I chose, but I was able to watch regular TV or the nature trail thing I chose as a workout. Check-in was easy, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience, and I would check in here for any future meetings in the area! read more

Everything about my stay was perfect. There was only one thing that was weird. The pillows for some reason smelt nasty. But not the pillow sheets. A really nice hotel. The beds are very comfortable with ample pillows. The ONLY issue is if you plan on sleeping past 9am forget about it. The housecleaning staff has conversations from one room to room several rooms away. I asked them to please know that some were still sleeping, no change. Again the hotel was fabulous except as noted. Stayed here for a wedding. They let all my friends check in at 3 and told us we could not (mind you checkin is at 4). We had to get to a wedding ceremony at a church and by the time we returned there was a line 100+ people long to check-in. Now we are going to miss our shuttle to the reception because this place is ill-equipped to handle their turnover apparently. Reserved 2 rooms, Sat & Sunday for a wedding (7/4) directly through the hotel. Hotel is surrounded by various corporate offices which were closed making the area traffic free. Most of the guests stayed here as we received some type of discount. Called Sat morning for early check in. Arrived around 2pm, check in was quick. Thanks to Nick who took care of this. He's seems to really enjoy his job. Rooms were moderate size. Clean, with plenty of towels. They take COVID precautions to the limit. Had sanitizers everywhere, wipes in every room. No pens, pads or directory. Not even a Bible!! They do not clean rooms until you check out but if you call the desk they respond quickly with fresh towels and/or remove garbage. All employees wore masks. Female bartender (sorry, can't remember her name) was absolutely the best. At times the bar was packed and she was alone but was a genuinely happy person. Never appeared bothered by so many people at once Buffet breakfast appeared ok. There is a charge I think its $20. Didn't seem to draw much of a crowd. There's plenty of places to eat or shop with 5 miles, you're bound to find something that meets your needs. The hotel hallways and public areas were well maintained as were the grounds. On site parking is a short walk but they have a covered area when you pull up to drop off passengers/luggage. Definitely would stay here again. read more

This place has several rooms infested with lady bugs. The first that I was in is room # 293. I don't care how non-harmful these bugs are, it's absolutely disgusting when there's over 10 of them flying around and creepy crawling on your ceilings, windows, and drapes. I initially complained in the morning and asked for them to be removed by the time I get back to the room. The manager who took my call brushed me off stating the bugs were non-harmful. As if that's an excuse to not deal with the problem. Lone behold there was actually more of them in the room when I returned 12 hours later from work. This room also had lady bug carcasses in the sliding door sill as well as a piece of bacon on the floor. Absolutely filthy. I asked for a new room. Upon entering the new room, it wreaked of body odor and had a large pink stain on the carpet. So I move again. Next room #195: again lady bugs creeping around & the heater doesn't work. Though not as many bugs as #293 had. I called corporate to inform them of the situation. Since the local manager here did not initially take my complaint seriously. read more

A very decent Marriott in the middle of nowhere. If you ever find yourself in Park Ridge, this is a pretty nice hotel. We came here for an Indian wedding hosted in one of the ballrooms. The hotel is quite spacious and elegant. All of the food was buffet style, and was catered by Chand Palace. There were so many VEGAN options, so I had plenty to eat! For appetizers, there were vegan samosas and also Manchurian veggie. Wow, I have never had Manchurian anything because it is always made with meat. The Manchurian vegetable was just awesome and spicy! For the main course, there was rice and also a vegetable tawa (which is grilled yams, eggplant, chickpeas). I was also able to have naan and achaar too! I couldn't have any dessert, but the bride was so thoughtful and had her mom make me some VEGAN cookies. That was just too sweet! This place was nice for a wedding, but just a few minor issues. The help here was not very friendly and seem quite disinterested in helping the clientele. Ugh. Also, it was very impossible to find this place. Everyone coming from NYC got lost! Clearly, they need better directions! Oh, yes, there is also a bar on site. We all had to venture there as this was a *dry* wedding. The bar is Irish-themed and pretty cheesy, but it got the job done with a round of Patron Coffee shots and a strong gin and tonic. The reason this hotel didn't get one star is because of the stellar employees. The reason they only got two stars is because of a number of problems with the facility. They include: 1. My room smelled of BO. It was a clogged A/C drain in the room. Maintenance fixed the issue quickly but it was so bad that it should have been reported by housekeeping. 2. The hallway in front of my room smells of urine. While I do have a dog-like sense of smell, it was unacceptable. If I want to smell urine, I will take the subway. 3. One day, the driver of the shuttle almost got us into a head-on collision because of a lack of attention. Unacceptable. 4. One evening, dinner took almost an hour to be served at the restaurant (not room service). While the food was very good and an apology was given, that was really slow. There were only 4 other people in the restaurant, so I have no idea what the delay was. 5. The older TV in my room would randomly turn off. Annoying. 6. I received three bills via email for my stay. I hope I don't get billed three times! My co-workers had good experiences here, so this is my story. You might have a better time than I did. In fact, I hope you do. read more

I am a Platinum member of Marriot, therefore enjoy extra perks like food and drink in the concierge lounge. They had a nice breakfast prepared for us members and also drinks, cheese, vegetables, fruit, snacks and Hors d'oeuvres during the evening (very nice) nighttime homemade cookies available after 7pm I enjoyed my meals at the combined restaurants and bars downstairs and even had a room service at exactly 11pm (their closing time)within a flash and no complaints my food arrived even though they were officially closed. I ate so much there that I had to use their gym twice a day LOL...The gym was small but did the trick and was comfortable and they even gave me a pair of headsets for the tv screen on the treadmill. The hotel is huge with long hallways but considering its size its in pretty good shape for an older hotel and the hotel lobby is quite classy and fun Enjoyed my stay and simply cannot wait to visit the hotel and area again ...who knew that neck of the woods would be nice? not me!! read more

This hotel really does a consistently great job, particularly the staff. The staff make an effort to get to know you and your preferences from the front desk to the bar/service team. The hotel has been recently renovated which has resulted in significant improvements. Paola, the resident bartender, is truly EXCEPTIONAL! She makes you feel like you are in her home and treats you like family. She is single-handedly the reason that I rarely leave the hotel at night as there is no reason to. She takes excellent care of her guests, and has a memory of your preferences like a steel trap, always making you feel like a VIP while in her care. This is something that even the nicest restaurants rarely can so consistently achieve, but she does it daily! Hotels can be good, but what makes them great is the staff. This hotel definitely hits the mark. I have enjoyed staying at this property for the past 12 years, and would offer my recommendation to any travelers in the area. read more

The circumstances of my visit was for a family funeral so I didn't truly get to take advantage of the amenities offered and cannot speak to quality of those. The hotel offered much more than I had expected for the location and I could see that it would be a nice place to check out (restaurant and bar) if I was there longer The hotel was nicely appointed- the staff was friendly and my room was clean. My most positive experience was elevated as I was discussing checking out with the Front Office Manager - Naomi L. I wanted to confirm my late checkout with our status, and that as we were attending the funeral that day if timing allowed I wanted to use the room to change prior to getting in the car and driving several hours home. I wanted to make sure that if it didn't allow for that that I could simply call and checkout over the phone and Naomi quickly answered that question while also extending her condolences - letting me know that it was not a problem at all and they'd be happy to take care of it however was necessary. She was a kind face and a bright smile to start a day that wasn't a happy occasion. I appreciated her. read more

I recently stayed here as a part of a conference, and enjoyed my stay. They offer a shuttle service to the downtown area, and the entrance is gorgeous. The facility is beautiful, rooms are clean, but the internet policy is questionable. Internet isn't available throughout the entire hotel- they charge for it in some areas, so be aware. The staff was very pleasant, but I was phoned a couple of hours after checking in and told my neighbor complained that I'd been running the water for two hours. I explained it wasn't me, but oddly enough, when I left 3 days later, I overheard an employee discussing a running water sound. I'm giving it 4 stars because I really enjoyed my stay and it is a great place- they just had a "kink" while I was there. read more

Stayed here for a wedding which also took place on property. Cocktail hour food was delicious! Especially enjoyed the mini grilled cheese & tomato soup shooters as well as the grilled skirt steak with chimmichurri sauce! Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Check in/out was a breeze! Hotel is well kept with clean and modern rooms, beautiful indoor/outdoor pool and a bar on site. Was especially surprised and appreciative after realizing I left a personal item behind 2 weeks after wedding and spoke to front desk staff confirming that housekeeping turned it in!
